Ahhh, so I said literally like an hour ago that I'm reworking Don't Take Peace for Granted and now I'm dropping the prologue?
Yep. Enjoy guys.
Dr. Henry Wu looked up from his computer as his assistant came hurrying in.
"Dr. Wu, they're hatching!"
Wu stood swiftly, following his assistant out of his office, and down the hallway to the incubator. Sure enough, one of the two eggs had hairline fissures up its side. Wu checked his clipboard; the eggs were perfectly on time.
With bated breath, he and his assistant watched the fissures grow. Then, and small little claw poked out, scrabbling away at the shell of the egg. A flake of the shell fell away, revealing a vibrant amber eye. Wu smiled; the first hybrid they could call a success.
He turned to his assistant as the dinosaur continued to claw its way out of the egg. "You may inform Mr. Masrani that the first specimen has hatched."
"Of course, sir."
Wu turned back to the egg, and added, "Make sure Dr. Grant is not informed."
"But sir, Masrani said that Dr. Grant was to receive updates on our dinosaur hatchings and genetic progress."
Wu gripped the edge of the incubating table, "Do you want Dr. Grant to come poking around and ruin all our progress?"
"No sire."
"Then make sure she is not informed."
"Of course, sir."
