Chapter 1

The Twins Fate

Rod Reiss had two illegitimate children with a former servant of his. Historia, who was born first, and Athena were twins. Both were close growing up and Historia was the shy girl while Athena was outspoken and very protective of her older sister. Unlike Historia who had blonde hair, Athena had black hair and the blue eyes. Their mother seemed to never favor them or talk to them. Historia and Athena with the help from a farmhand taught them to read and write and both buried their noses in the books that they had at the house.

One night. Athena watched as her mother walked outside to a carriage, wearing fancy clothes. She got in and disappeared for the night.

'Where are you going?' Athena thought. Historia was watching from another window. Athena grabbed her book and went back to reading.

The next day. Athena fed the horses as Historia walked towards their mother. Athena knew the way their mother treated them was not the way mothers should treat their children after reading the books. She hoped that one day when she had children she would never do the same thing her mother did.

"Mommy." Historia said, throwing herself in her mother's lap. Their mother grabbed Historia and threw her across the lawn.

"Historia!" Athena called, running towards her twin sister and helped her sit up. Historia sat up, smiling with a bloody nose. Their mother stood up and Athena didn't miss the hate and pain in her eyes along with tears.

"If only I wasn't such a coward, I could've killed them." Their mother said. Athena saw red across her eyes. Their mother walked away crying. Athena went up to go after her, but Historia stopped her.

"No, Athena. You'll get yourself in trouble." Historia said.

"Tch. Don't you get it Historia. We aren't wanted." Athena said.

"Don't say that." Historia said, tears running down her checks. Athena stood up.

"Its true and you know it." Athena said. She ran back to the horses.

After that day. Their mother left the farm and never came back.

Word got to them that Wall Maria had fallen. Athena was in shock. Titans had broke through the gates. Why wasn't anyone doing anything about it. She swore under her breath that when she was ready. She would join the Survey Corps and kill the Titans.

One night a few days after the fall of Wall Maria. There was a knock on the door. Historia and Athena shared looks as they go to the door. Athena opened it and a man stepped in. Athena saw their mother standing behind him. The man took off his hat as he stepped into the house.

"Historia. Athena. My name's Rod Reiss. I wish that we could've met sooner. You see, I'm your father." Rod Reiss said. Athena's eyes widen and Historia gasped. Historia saw their mother standing behind him. Their mother looked away. "Now, listen. You both will be living with me from this day forth. Rod Reiss led the girls out of the house. A man stepped out from the carriage and walked over. Their mother gasps and screams. Athena saw men surround them as Alma tried to run for it.

"You know what this is, Lord Reiss." The man said. Men grabbed Alma. "The fall of Wall Maria's got you acting a bit reckless. I suppose you thought you'd get your pretty little secrets to safer ground, huh." Athena didn't like the sound of his voice. It was cold. Athena studied him. He kept his face hidden in shadow but there was an evil smirk on his face. Alma was sobbing.

"Let mom go." Historia said.

"No! I'm not that girl's mother! Those girls are not mine. I've never even met them! Do whatever you want with them, but let me go!" Alma shouted. Athena pressed her lips. She might be ten but she was smart enough to know that her mother didn't care what happened to her and her sister. Historia looked at her mom in shock.

"Oh? You have anything to say about that, Lord Reiss? Maybe it's just a coincidence the four of you are out here at the same time. Athena and Historia looked up at their father. Rod Reiss lowered his eyes and sighed.

"So be it." Rod Reiss said. Historia and Athena gasped. "That's correct. These three have nothing to do with me." Athena's eyes widen in fear.

"I thought that might be the case." The man said. The men pushed Alma to the ground, making her gasp.

"Wait? What are you..?" Alma said.

"You were never employed at this estate. And nobody here has ever heard your name." The man said. He pulled out a knife. Alma looked at the man in shock. "Sounds to me like you don't exist." He brings the knife in front of Alma.

"No, I... Master, please!" Alma shouted looking at Rod Reiss. Rod Reiss turned his back to Alma. Historia and Athena watched. Historia held one of her favorite books to her chest. "That isn't true, you have to tell them!" Athena had to grab Historia from walking towards their mother.

"What are they... doing? Mother?" Historia asked.

"Historia don't." Athena said. Alma looked at the girls with hate in her eyes as the man held her face and held the knife to her neck.

"If only you two have never been born, I could..." The man slit Alma's neck. Athena watched as Alma fell to the ground. Historia had tears in her eyes and Athena held a straight face. Historia dropped her book to the ground. The man walked up to the girls. Athena and Historia held onto each other. Historia was shaking and Athena glared up at the man. The man touched the knife to Historia's neck.

"No. Wait." Rod Reiss said. Athena looked at her father as he turned towards the man. "Let them go far away and live a quiet life. And you don't have them live." The man lowered his knife. Athena felt tears in her eyes. "Your new name will be Christa Lenz." He looked at Athena. "And yours will be Lilian Lenz." Athena felt tears in her eyes. Her old life was gone.

Two years later. They had lived a life in the Mountains but Athena, who was now going by Lilian, was ready to join the Cadet Core. Historia, who was now Christa, was scared to, but didn't want to be left alone decided to join as well

Christa and Lilian stood with the new cadets in their uniforms as they all lined up. Lilian's long black hair was pulled back into a braid. Lilian was now taller then her sister at the age of twelve.

"Straighten those spines, piss ants." The Commandant said as he got in front of the recruits. Everyone straightened their backs. The 104th Cadet Corps Boot Camp starts now! Allow me to introduce myself: I'm Commandant Keith Sadies, And you will grow to hate me! Training is gonna be a white-knuckle ride through Hell. If I've done my job, you'll be waking up in a cold sweat from memories of this place every night for the rest of your miserable lives. Right now, you're nothing. Livestock. But over the next three, soul crushing years, you'll learn to take down your own Goliath. Remember this moment when you come face to face with him, 'cause here's where you ask yourself: Am I a fighter or am I feed? Am I gonna be ground up to pulpy human grist between boulder sized incisors. Or am I gonna be the one to bite?" Lilian looked around. Most of the cadets were kids.

'Least me and Christa have some people close to our age. I'm a fighter for sure.' Lilian thought she notice two tall boys standing off alone. One was brown haired and the other was blonde. They seemed older then her by a couple years. The blonde haired looked her way as he felt her looking. Gold met blue as they looked at each other. Lilian quickly looked away. 'Just get through this training and all will be good.'

AN: I had a Reiner story in my head but had issues deciding stuff, but thought it be interesting if Historia was a twin who was younger. Hope you liked. Till next time.
