"What do you know about my mum" Alexandra demanded getting very defensive.
Annabelle frowned realising she had stepped into a fragile subject that clearly had a deep effect on the younger girl. But why was the girl so short with her then? Annabelle knew that maybe the girl wouldn't open up to her due to them not knowing much about the other but her sisterly instinct started nagging at her to do whatever she could to gain Alexandra's trust and to protect her.
"I'm sorry" Annabelle replied in a soft and unsure tone. "I didn't mean to presume something it's just… I hope you don't mind but I got Lucy, The head Geek, to get the footage of your conversation with Auntie in the office." Seeing the girls frown deepen Annabelle felt the need to explain. "I'm afraid our father and I are not on the best of terms and I was curious to know why he had brought you here."
"That's okay" Alexandra replied quietly causing Annabelle to release a breath she hadn't realised she was holding "Carnaby and I don't get along either, I hardly know him and my mum say's he's an idiot who doesn't deserve to have children."
"She's not wrong" Annabelle smiled at her little sister and realised that this girl had nothing to do with Carnaby. "I believe we got off on the wrong foot yesterday so how about we start again?"
"I'd like that" Alexandra beamed at her older sister, glad that their father wasn't going to stop her getting to know and have a real big sister.
"I'm Annabelle Lealla Fritton, St Trinians head girl and your big sister" she beamed holding out a hand for Alexandra to shake.
"I'm Alexandra Rose Fritton Harris." Alexandra replied taking Annabelle hand. "But if you don't mind could you call me Lexi, mum only calls me Alexandra when I'm in trouble" she added unsure of her self.
"Only if you call me Belle" Her sister replied and laughed when Lexi pounced to hug her in response.
"Now if you don't mind I have some official head girl work to take care of, you have a map of the school right?" Belle asked to which Lexi nodded profusely. "Good, if you need any help don't be afraid to ask one or the girls, I'll make sure word is spread that the girls should take care of you, but don't worry I won't tell them why."
"Thank you Belle." Lexi smiled as she jumped up and bounded to the door.
"Oh Lexi one more thing" Annabelle called the girl back "If you ever want to talk about you mum you know where I am."
