Picture Perfect

Kari smiled at the bride, thanking her and the bridesmaids again for the great photography session. Kari closed the door to the bridal suite behind her as she made her way to the groom's suite to start taking pictures of the groom and his groomsmen. On her way over, she took a little peak at the pictures she had just taken of the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready. She smiled at all of the women dressed beautiful, laughing together.

Photography had always been a hobby that Kari enjoyed. She always wanted to capture that perfect moment and share it with others. A moment that will be frozen in time forever. The picture can tell someone so many things and can convey so many feelings.

In the past, Kari took pictures of her brother playing soccer, or her friends at parties. It wasn't until recently that she started to book wedding gigs. It was something that she didn't expect to love so much. There were so many people to photograph and moments to capture. The bridal party getting ready, the first kiss, the first dance, and of course all of the in betweens.

One of the bridesmaids recommended Kari to the bride and groom after seeing a photography shoot she did for a couple's baby announcement. The engaged couple, Matt and Hana, tested Kari in a session before the wedding to make sure it was what they wanted. Kari just did a couples session with them, and the couple loved the way the pictures turned out. On top of that, they loved the energy that Kari had while working with them. Once they got the preview pictures, they immediately called Kari and asked her to be their wedding photographer.

Kari reached the suite where the groomsmen were all gathered around, talking. She gave a small wave as she got closer to the group, a bright smile spread across her face.

"Kari, hi!" Matt said as he stepped away from the group to greet the petite girl, "Guys, this is Kari, our photographer! Kari, this is brother, T.K, my best man. Then there's Joe, Youto, and Lee, my groomsmen."

Kari waved politely at the men as she held up her camera, "Shall we get started?"

Matt nodded his head, "Just tell us what to do, Kari!"

Kari lifted her camera as she started to tell Matt how to pose. She wanted to take some pictures of just Matt by himself. As she took a few pictures, T.K leaned against the wall and watched as Kari did her work. She was very professional, dressed in a soft pink dress that fell below her knees. Instantly, T.K was drawn to her natural beauty and the energy that she brought into the room.

"T.K?" Kari called, "Can I get some pictures of you and your brother?"

T.K. nodded his head and joined his brother for some pictures. He followed Kari's directions carefully. She asked T.K. to straighten Matt's tie for some pictures and then was asked to just pose next to his brother casually. Kari gave the two great feedback on their pictures while they posed.

"Can I get some individual pictures of the groomsmen?" Kari asked Matt, who quickly agreed. Kari smiled brightly, "Great! We are just going to pretend to be getting ready. Take off your coats, and start putting them on. I'll just start snapping some pictures!" The groomsmen all started to follow Kari's orders and pretended to take off their suit coats. "Here, T.K, let me help you. It should look like this," Kari said, her voice soft.

T.K watched her carefully as she helped him adjust his coat to the perfect position. He listened to her feedback and comments, "Like this?" T.K asked, holding onto his coat like he was going to put it on.

"Perfect!" Kari beamed as she started to take some pictures, "Don't look at me. Look down and make it natural!"

T.K blushed as he looked down following Kari's directions. He wanted to just look at her and take in her beauty. Kari moved on to the other groomsmen as she finished taking T.K's pictures. T.K joined Matt off to the side as they watched Kari do her work.

"She takes really great pictures," Matt whispered to T.K.

"Oh yeah?"

Matt nodded his head, "I see you keep looking at her. I don't know if you're worried that your pictures won't come out good or if you just think she's cute."

T.K shrugged his shoulders, suddenly unsure what to say to his brother. T.K wasn't the kind of guy to date a lot of girls. It took something special in a girl to catch his attention, and so far only a few have done that. Kari was now one of them. He didn't know what it was though, it was different from any other girl he liked before. This was something instant.

Kari checked her watch, "Okay, one more set and then we will head over to the venue! Can you all line up, please? Matt you stand over here, and then T.K, Joe is next, Lee, and then Youto. Alright? Now put your hands in your pockets and look over at me. Perfect!" Kari smiled as she started to take pictures of the group. "Next, everyone turn inward towards Matt. Hold your hands, left over right and look towards Matt. Great!" Kari started to take pictures once again of the group. "Oh, T.K, look at Matt, not me!" Kari smiled, causing T.K to blush and quickly look at his brother.

"Yeah, T.K! Pay attention!" Joe teased, giving him a pat on the back. The rest of the group laughed as Kari finished up taking pictures. They had some extra time and they were able to take some fun pictures that Matt wanted before they made their way to the venue for the ceremony.

It was a beautiful small ceremony by a lake. Kari was able to get tons of pictures of the bride and groom, the bridal party, along with the guests. She got the first kiss and a great shot of Matt and Hana walking back down the aisle together hand in hand as a married couple.

After the ceremony was over, Kari took more pictures of the bridal party while everyone else went to the reception for food and drinks. Kari got a lot of pictures of Matt and Hana together as a newly wed couple. She picked the perfect poses for them, while also taking suggestions from them that they wanted to do. After Kari was done taking pictures of just Matt and Hana, the rest of the bridal party joined them in various poses.

Kari was having a great time working with Matt and Hana and their bridal party. They were all great to work with and had their own ideas of what they wanted to do for their pictures. To make things even better, they all got along well too. Sometimes half the battle was getting along with the person you were taking pictures of.

Whenever it was time to head over to the reception, Kari started to gather up all of her camera equipment to transfer it to the reception. While she was doing so, T.K came over to her.

Kari looked up at him, confused, "Hi, T.K! Is everything okay?"

"Oh yeah! I just-uh-I was wondering if.." T.K stumbled on his words as he struggled to find the right things to say, "Do you have a business card? You were really great to work with today."

Kari smiled brightly up at T.K, "I do! Let me find it…" Her voice trailed off as she started to dig through her bag to find cards. Once she did she pulled it out and handed it to T.K. "I appreciate you saying those kind words!"

"Of course! Are you staying for the reception?"

"Just for a little bit. To take pictures of the first dance and of the guest some more. The rest of the night, the pictures will be on everyone else!"

"Well, maybe after you're done, you can stick around for a while," T.K suggested, scratching the back of his neck. Before Kari could answer, Matt called for T.K to join them, "Well, I'll see you soon, Kari!" T.K smiled, waving her card as he walked away.

Whenever Kari got to the reception, she waited patiently for the bridal party to arrive so she could finish taking the pictures. While she waited, she looked through the pictures she had already taken throughout the day. She kept noticing that in a lot of the pictures with the groomsmen, T.K was looking at her. She felt little butterflies in her stomach as she looked at his blue eyes staring directly into her camera. Her mind started to wonder to him suggesting that she stay after she was done taking pictures. Part of her wanted to, but she knew that might not be professional.

"They are about to make their way in now," The DJ of the wedding told Kari, as she got into position to start to take the pictures. The DJ announced each pairing of the bridal party into the hall, and one by one they all danced their way through the doors and to the main table, all while Kari snapped pictures of them. Whenever T.K came out, Kari smiled a little brighter. Her face flushed, whenever she noticed him looking at her again. The thought lingered again of whether or not Kari should stay or not.

In the end, Kari felt that it was not appropriate for her to stay after she was done. She was hired as a professional, not invited as a guest. Once she was finished with all of the requested pictures from the couple, she packed up all of her things. Kari threw her camera bag over her shoulder and made her way over to Matt and Hana at the head table.

"I'm heading out now. I just wanted to say thank you for this opportunity and congratulations to you both!" Kari smiled.

"Oh, Kari!" Hana beamed, standing up to give Kari a hug, "Thank you for being a part of our big day, we cannot wait to see the pictures. We will definitely be in touch!"

Kari hugged Hana back, "I will send you everything in a few weeks. If you have any questions, just let me know. Enjoy your night, bye!" Kari smiled as she started to leave, as she left, she caught T.K's eye. She smiled softly at him before she left the venue.

The venue was pretty close to Kari's apartment, so it didn't take her long to get home. Once she was home, she put her camera onto her desk and started to unpack her bag. She intended on working on the pictures first thing in the morning. That was one thing about Kari, she didn't like to procrastinate anything. As she was unpacking her bag, she found her phone tucked away. She checked her phone seeing she had a few missed messages from her friends, brother, and an unknown number. She raised her eyebrow as she opened the text from the unknown number.

'Hi, Kari! It's T.K from the wedding. I got your number from your business card. I was wondering if you'd want to meet up for coffee sometime? My treat! Let me know.'

Kari stared at her phone, biting her lip as she smiled softly. Quickly she started to text T.K back, 'Coffee sounds great!'
