Hi everyone. Here we are, the final battle to the 'Night of the Beyond' and it has been one heck of a ride! This is a big chapter and so much is happening here. How can the Avengers and their allies push back against the Cabal and the now-resurrected Dagon? Not to mention the dimensional tears that are ripping through Legerdomain, as well as their own worlds as well. Find out right here, right now!
Part 7
The massive god-like demon that was known as the Dagon had been fully reconstituted. It's gargantuan form continued to hover in the skies of Legerdomain, the tears in the dimension's space all around it as it didn't appear they were mending, but nobody was focusing on that. All the Avengers and their gathered allies could only look up in speechless terror at the sight of the monster that let loose a dark and unholy laugh.
"I am whole… I live again…!"
"And under our total control." Modula grinned as the eye in his hat opened, channeling the energy of the spell they used upon Dagon's reassembly, and it glowed the same red as Dagon's eyes, which also flashed briefly.
"What is it you wish?" Dagon questioned, as it seemed he was truly under the thrall of the Cabal.
"Destroy these interlopers, once and for all! Wipe them from the face of this universe!" Modula ordered, referring to the Avengers and their allies.
"It shall be done." Upon that command, multiple black clouds formed in the sky and circled all around the perimeter of the castle, before enormous bolts of dark red lightning shot down toward the group of heroes.
Acting on pure instinct, Max, Gwen, and Hex threw their hands out to create a massive dome that mixed their respective magics together, encircling their entire group just as the bolts struck. Though the shield was able to protect all of them, the bolts continued to pound at it with Dagon laughing the entire time.
"Unbelievable…!" Doc muttered. "An actual god…!"
"You better believe it." Ben commented with a serious voice. "If it weren't for Gwen, Hex, and Max combing their magics like this, we'd be dead already."
"That and Legerdomain juicing them helps too." Kevin added.
"Okay… so what's the plan?" Dani questioned, looking more than a little nervous. "Tell me somebody has a plan!"
"How'd you guys beat Dagon last time?" Kim asked Ben and Kevin.
"Technically, we didn't." Ben explained, much to everyone's surprise. "Vilgax did. Basically, Dagon's essence is pure energy and Vilgax built a machine that could absorb that kind of energy."
"Wait… energy…" Tucker snapped his fingers with realization. "That's it! I mean, that's what they've been doing this whole time, right? The bad guys have been bringing Dagon back together because he's pure energy. If this huge machine they built brought it all together…"
"Maybe there could be a way to reverse the process!" Drew realized where he was going.
"It's worth a shot…." Danny said, not really having the time to come up with any other plan. At the very least, it could give them something to go off of and they'd work their way from there. "Okay, Tucker you take Gwen, Kevin, Fu, and Hex to the top of that castle. It's where we saw Dagon get pulled back together, so it's a good place to start. It might be where they're holding Charmcaster too."
"Fisk, Zon, Komodo, you guys go with em to." Zak told the cryptids in his family, with Fiskerton giving a nod with Zon and Komodo giving affirmative growls and caws in return.
"You too, Rufus." Ron handed his beloved naked mole rat to Fiskerton. "It's gonna get dicey out here."
"I can get all you guys up there." Breach said.
"Illana, Lance, Octus, form Titan and keep Dagon distracted." Danny continued. "The rest of us will handle the Cabal."
"Understood." Illana nodded.
"Um… kinda hard to do anything right now with the giant freaking demon god raining lightning down on us!" Jake exclaimed.
"Seriously… this won't hold long…!" Gwen strained as the barrier she, Hex, and Max were holding up was already beginning to crack. Even with their combined magics further enhanced by Legerdomain, it wasn't enough to hold off Dagon's powers for long.
"I got it!" Breach threw up her own hand, creating a large portal just above the barrier, allowing Dagon's lightning to enter, and exit out from another portal that appeared above the demonic monstrosity, redirecting his own lightning back at him, causing Dagon to roar in pain and halt his attack.
"Nice." Rex grinned, giving Breach a thumbs up.
With their opening, Gwen exchanged looks and nods with Hex and Max, before they expanded their barrier and caused it to explode, creating a shockwave that blew much of the Cabal back as well as created a small smokescreen for the Avengers and their allies to move.
"Go! Now!" Danny ordered.
Breach opened a portal, allowing Gwen to lead the group consisting of Kevin, Tucker, Zed, Hex, Fu Dog, Fiskerton, Komodo, and Zon to enter and infiltrate the castle; while the armored Illana and Lance flew straight up alongside Octus toward the recovering Dagon. Max also shot straight up, riding his sparkling cloud and flying alongside them.
"Max? What are you doing?" Illana asked, surprised at seeing him flying with them.
"Giving you guys some extra back up in the magic department. Keep Poseidon's leftover calamari up there distracted." Max answered.
"Alright, just watch yourself." Lance acknowledged as the four of them flew closer to the enormous demon. "Octus!"
"Initiating Sym-Bionic Titan!" Octus announced. This caused his body to expand to enormous proportions, bringing in the Corus and Manus armor to undergo their transformation. The armors opened as usual, allowing Lance and Illana to levitate out before the armors and Octus' machinery merged and grew, taking the shape of the enormous robotic defender that was known as Titan as all three of their minds linked together.
Once Titan was formed, it wasted no time in attacking. Titan brought both its hands together, which merged and reconfigured into one massive laser canon, which it fired straight in-between Dagon's eyes, causing the enormous beast to growl. Max added to it as he flew at supersonic speeds, flying above Dagon and raised his cane. His own magic was already incredibly powerful, but with the added benefit of having it enhanced by Legerdomain, he channeled as much of his power as he could to bring down massive bolts of white lightning from the magical sky to his cane like a lightning rod.
"How about a taste of your own medicine!?" Max exclaimed as he brought his cane down, to blast all the conjoined lightning right onto Dagon's head. It all exploded when it made contact. Max then flew to regroup with Titan, hovering close to its head to see that Dagon had barley received any damaged, eyeing the two foes who dared to strike him. Even as large as Titan was, it paled in comparison to even the likes of Dagon; the demonic deity easily dwarfed the robotic hero.
"I see before me, two insignificant specks." Dagon observed. "One slightly larger, a conjoined mind of three consciousness, two mortal and one artificial. The other, a reincarnated soul of other lower life forms. To mortal eyes, you are powerful… but to me… you are nothing!"
"Ooh boy, this won't be easy." Max muttered, a sweat drop sliding down his face before he and Titan re-engaged.
As the battle above began; the Avengers and their remaining allies present quickly engaged the Cabal in an all-out brawl in the castle courtyard. Danny flew straight toward Vlad, blasting an Ecto-beam at him, which Vlad flew around to punch Danny in the face, but his wrist was quickly ensnared by an Ecto-whip constructed by Sam, leaving him open for Dani to fly forward and deliver a roundhouse to his jaw, sending him reeling in the air before flying up to gain some distance. Danny flew in pursuit with Sam and Danielle right behind him.
Ben quickly activated the Omnitrix to transform into Humungousaur gunning right for Vilgax, who charged him in response. They collided their fists, punching the other in the face with enough force to create a shockwave and send them skidding back on their feet. But before Vilgax could charge again, Rex had already leapt above him with his Punk Busters and flew back down with his Smack Hands, pulling back his metallic fist to punch Vilgax into the ground as he landed. As Humungousaur pulled himself up, his eyes widened as Rex was suddenly thrown at him to knock them both down.
Kim backflipped to avoid the plant tendrils that Drakken lashed out at her before she rolled on the ground and kicked herself forward to try and close the gap between her and Drakken, which worked as she leapt over two plant tendrils sent her way, landed on her hands and threw both her feet into Drakken's face to knock him down. As she leapt at him again, he was quick to recover and react, ensnaring Kim with his plant vines in mid-air where she was unable to dodge before he pinned her to the ground. He got back up and looked down upon her with a malevolent grin.
Meanwhile, Ron appeared to be facing off with Modula alone, which caused the evil general to smirk.
"You believe you can face me alone?" He questioned skeptically. "Even after you and your friends together couldn't defeat me?"
"Dude, Mystic Monkey Kung Fu master, right here?" Ron gestured to himself as he activated his Mistic Monkey aura, which shined brighter even than before. In the blink of an eye, he flashed at Modula faster than he could react and thrusted his fingers at him to send Modula flying and crashing into a nearby wall. "Mystic, as in magic? Ya know, the thing that gets super charged in the realm of magic? Do I gotta spell it out for ya?" Ron smiled with confidence as he took a martial arts stance.
Modula walked out from his spot on the wall with a serious expression. "So, it would seem." He discarded his cape, revealing his military-style uniform underneath, and made his own combat stance. The two stared each other down for a brief moment before clashing with one another.
The Dark Dragon flew backwards in the air, blasting his dark fire at Jake and Lao-Shi as they engaged in aerial combat with their nemesis. Jake clashed his fire-breath against that of the Dark Dragon, allowing Lao-Shi to get in close and swipe his tail, but the Dark Dragon recovered and grabbed Lao-Shi with both his hands, zapping him with his dark magic while in his grip. Jake came to his grandfather's aid by flying and slamming his elbow into the Dark Dragon to knock him loose. He and Lao-Shi regrouped and unleashed both their fire-breath at the Dark Dragon, their combined attack was enough to send him crashing into the ground.
"Your power might have gotten stronger here in Legerdomain, Dark Dragon." Jake told him as he and his grandfather hovered above him. "But same applies to me and Grandpa."
"Have you so soon forgotten, American Dragon? I have more dark powers than you can possibly imagine!" The Dark Dragon raised his claws, casting his dark magic as dozens upon dozens of shadows circled around the pair, creating a large group of at least forty Shade Demons.
"Oh, right… forgot about that." Jake winced as the Shade Demons and their master commenced their attack once more.
Drew aimed her fire-sword directly at Argost, blasting him with flames, but Argost was quick to shield himself with his cloak. Doc tried to come in from behind, swinging his power-glove at Argost, but he swerved around the attack, grabbed Doc with both his arms and flipped him onto the incoming Drew. However, Argost felt his right wrist ensnared, turning around to see Zak using the grappler from the Claw for that very purpose before he quickly ensnared Argost's left wrist with the Fang's grappler and pulled on the retractor, pulling Argost in close to where Zak slammed both his feet into his chest to knock him back.
Argost picked himself up to see the Saturday Family standing together to face him. "Ah, this does bring back memories, doesn't it?"
"You mean all the times we took you down?" Zak grinned.
"You should have stayed dead, Argost." Doc glared.
"But we can fix that." Drew said somewhat darkly.
"Your Anti-Kur powers might be stronger here, but so are mine." Zak's eyes glowed their typical orange. "I'm not gonna let you control any of my friends or family."
Argost only chuckled in response. "Oh, it pains me to see that someone so smart isn't so creative." This caused Zak to look in confusion. "Our powers are more than just influencing or controlling cryptids, my boy. We possess the powers of the greatest cryptid to ever walk the Earth… and in Legerdomain, the only true limit to our power is our imagination."
Argost channeled his own Anti-Kur powers, which encircled around his whole body in the form of a sickly green aura. The aura began to grow and expand, much to the surprise of the Saturdays, especially as it took something of a more solid form. What stood before them was the glowing green semi-transparent form of a giant yeti-like creature, standing well over twenty feet tall, with Argost hovering in the middle with an enormous chuckle.
"Okay…. That's new!" Zak said in shock as he and his family were forced to fall back and avoid the crushing fists of the Anti-Kur Yeti projection.
Meanwhile, while a warzone erupted around them, Breach stood face-to-face with her former master. A glare on her face as she looked with contempt upon him, the first time seeing him in five years. Even after all that time, her hatred and contempt of him has never once dwindled down.
"Ah Breach, it has been some time." Van Kleiss said with a seemingly pleasant smile. "You've grown quite a bit, and appear to be taking better care of yourself." Breach's eyes only narrowed further. "Why the hostility? Sure, our past may not have been the best, but that doesn't mean we can't find some form of reconciliation. With your newfound mastery of your powers, we can…"
He was cut off as a portal suddenly opened in front of him and Breach's large upper right fist went straight into his gut, knocking the wind out of him. Breach's whole body appeared out of the portal as she slugged him across the face with her other upper arm, then grabbed him by the shoulders with both upper arms and punched him repeatedly with her lower ones before throwing him to the ground.
"I've had enough of your speeches to last a lifetime." She told him. "I'm just done with you. So let's just skip the banter and get right to the part where I give you the beat down you so deserve."
Van Kleiss pulled himself up and wiped the blood form his mouth before glaring at her. "I see… if how you truly feel, I'll just have to kill you then."
One of Breach's portals had opened to allow Gwen, Tucker, Kevin, Fu, Zed, Hex, Fiskerton, Komodo, Zon, and Rufus to enter the top of the castle, and into the large chamber where Charmcaster was currently being held. They looked in surprise to see her not only restrained, but her whole body glowing with a red aura as she and the device she was ratchetted to hovering just above the ground.
"Hope…" Hex's face paled at seeing his niece like this.
"Yesh, what are they doing to her?" Tucker winced.
"They're using her as a conduit." Gwen already seemed to get the gist of it. "They're channeling Dagon's energy through her to keep him together!"
"Oh, it's not just that young one." Addwaitya revealed himself as he hovered down toward the group with Pandarus and Nocturne right beside him, Rani Nagi even slithered out from behind the machine. "Our spell to control Dagon is being funneled through her."
"Addwaitya…!" Hex gnashed his teeth together. "You will release my niece at once!"
"I'm afraid we can't do that, skull face." Pandarus said. "We need her to control Dagon."
"Then I guess we'll just have to unplug her, won't we?" Kevin said as he touched the ground to absorb the stone and coat it around his body; Zed, Fiskerton, Zon, and Komodo all growling and ready for a fight. Even Rufus hopped to the ground and took a martial arts stance while Gwen's hands charged with mana, Hex held out his staff, even Tucker drew a Fenton-made Ecto-blaster, while Fu just hunched down like a dog, but was ready for a fight none the less.
Nocturne chuckled. "You didn't honestly think we wouldn't be prepared for you? Sleepwalkers, form!" Upon his command, several dozen of his moaning minions, the Sleepwalkers appeared around the heroes, forcing them to circle up.
"Attack!" Rani Nagi ordered as she and the Sleepwalkers charged forward, while Addwaitya, Pandarus, and Nocturne blasted their respective magics, or Ecto-attacks.
Outside, the skies lit up like a thousand thunderstorms as Dagon unleashed enormous lightning bolts from the surrounding clouds onto Titan and Max, both flying and evading all the long-distanced strikes while desperately trying to find a way to get in and go on the offensive. Dagon made that even harder as he added his own red eyebeams into the fray, these going straight for Titan, who quickly brought up the shield to protect itself. But the beams easily broke through the shield and sent Titan flying and hurtling through the sky.
Max used this to fly in close, conjuring a small flame in between his hands, before it grew to enormous size, ten times his own, and took the shape of a giant Chinese dragon, which he sicked onto Dagon. The fire dragon roared as it flew at Dagon, who lashed out one of its tentacles at it, but the dragon ensnared and wrapped itself around that particular tentacle before it exploded to destroy the tentacle, allowing Max to get right in on Dagon's face.
He landed on one of his larger tentacles, created a large naginata-like blade on end of his cane from pure magic, pierced it into Dagon's skin and channeled his enhance magic to grow it to just as big proportions as that of his fire dragon and pierce deeper. Before Dagon could act, Max ran at supersonic speeds up the tentacle, dragging the blade through along with him to carve through Dagon's skin before appearing in between Dagon's eyes, where he leapt from, pulling out his cane as the magic blade vanished and morphed into a ring as Max spun his cane around rapidly to blast multiple lightning bolts directly into Dagon's eyes. Dagon however retaliated and roared before unleashing his eyebeams that seemed to overpower Max's attack and would have obliterated him had he not vanished into a puff of smoke and re-appeared at a safe distance.
"Split your focus, eh big guy?" Max said to him as Titan flew back into the fray, already forming its bow-and-arrow weapon as it unleashed a large volley of arrows into Dagon's eyes, which quickly exploded to destroy the glowing red optical organs and blind him.
"Go! While he's blind!" Lance exclaimed as Titan flew faster, already landing on Dagon's face before forming its sword to pierce in-between Dagon's eyes before pushing the sword downward to carve in an opening. Titan then grabbed both ends of the massive cut and began to pull it open.
"Full power! Now!" Illana ordered. Titan's hands once again came together to form its massive weapon and aimed directly into the opening in Dagon's head. They fired the enormous beam which seemed to pierce through all of Dagon's organs inside and even blasted out through the other side of his head.
An explosion erupted from most of Dagon's head, forcing Titan to fly backwards and gain some distance. Max flew himself to rejoin it, hovering close to the robot's head as they saw the smoke from the explosion beginning to clear.
However, a dark and demonic laugh began to echo through the dimensional-torn skies of Legerdomain, the smoke vanishing to reveal Dagon as all his injuries quickly healed from the damaged tentacles, to the blown out eyes, to even the massive gaping hole in its head. In a matter of seconds, it appeared that Dagon hadn't been damaged at all.
"Foolish insects. You cannot kill a god."
"Ah nuts… knew it wouldn't be so easy…" Max muttered.
"Our attacks did nothing!" Lance exclaimed as Illana's holographic face within Titan was one of pure terror.
"The Dagon is a being of pure energy, therefore it stands to reason that none of our physical attacks can deal any permanent damage." Octus assumed.
"You would assume correctly." Dagon spoke, his words echoing through the conjoined minds of the three that formed Titan, much to their horror.
"W-What…? D-did... did you guys… hear that…?" Illana muttered in terror.
"How is he…?" Lance spoke with dread.
"He's somehow connecting to the link that unites our minds to form Titan." Octus figured out, but he too was surprised and even fearful.
"I have manipulated and controlled billions of minds for millennia, hearing your thoughts even in such an unnatural union is child's play for me. And I shall take great joy in obliterating that union."
Dagon conjured a massive storm cloud that came in and surrounded Titan in all directions. Before either Illana, Lance, or even Octus could react; multiple bolts of lightning, along with a storm of acid rain and fireballs all crisscrossed from every direction to pound at Titan relentlessly, rendering it defenseless as Dagon continued to laugh.
"What's so funny, squid boy?" Max called out as he flew at the Dagon, conjuring a series of fireballs into his hands before throwing them out. The fireballs grew, like every other attack, and took the form of something akin to meteorites which blasted Dagon all over, but he was unphased before firing his eyebeams at Max, who slid across the beams on his sparkling cloud like riding a skateboard.
"I can sense the power within, the power of the conjoined souls from your past lives." Dagon said to him as Max got in close, flying around Dagon to throw more fireballs, lightning bolts, and even just attacks of pure energy at the god, but he was still undamaged. "It must be quite the burden, to carry all the memories of those who came before. Allow me to relieve you of that crushing burden, by wiping your soul from existence and preventing any future reincarnation."
"Sorry man, you're not the first to try and give me an existential crisis. At least try to be original." Max cracked before he conjured a large disk of pure magic which he threw out to slice away at Dagon's frontmost tentacle, which quickly regrew.
"A pathetic attempt at humor to conceal the terror that stems through your being." Dagon brushed off. "No mortal can truly best me."
"Oh really." Max thought with a grin. "Didn't you have your heart cut out by a mortal? Or what about the time when your mortal herald backstabbed you and absorbed all your power? And now, here you are, under the thrall of that same mortal and his fellow mortal psychos. That must be humiliating."
Dagon growled as he focused his attention on Max, redirecting all his dark red lightning bolts and eye-beams, even conjuring storms of acid rain and fireballs above Max, which he desperately tried to avoid with speed, agility, and magical barriers.
"All my previous defeats only delayed the inevitable, as does this pathetic Cabal!" Dagon growled. "I may be under the control now, but my patience is infinite. They will lose focus, even if it takes years, which is little more than a mere blink for me. Once they do, I will subject each and every one of them, especially my former herald, to an eternity of pure agony!"
"You sure talk a lot don't ya?" Max commented, his grin only growing as he glanced back to the storm containing his titanic ally. "Enough to keep yourself distracted, anyway."
Multiple beams of energy shot out from within the storm before it was blown away. All those beams were then fired directly at the Dagon, engulfing him with even greater explosion than the previous attack.
The one responsible was none other than Titan, freed from the storm. However, all its armor had been opened, exposing its inner workings to absorb and re-direct all the energy from Dagon's storm. But there appeared to be some internal damage, even as Titan closed its armor back up.
"Not the first time we've been trapped in storm…" Illana muttered.
"Octus… how bad is the damage…"
"Many of our internal systems have been overheated and damaged… but we are still functional." Octus reported.
"Good… we need to keep fighting… because Dagon's not done."
Titan and Max looked on to see Dagon had already recovered. Any damage inflicted by Titan's re-directed attack had already healed. If anything, it only seemed to anger the demonic deity even further.
Max sighed. "This is gonna take a while…"
Back on the ground, the Avengers and their present allies continued to wage an all-out battle against the Cabal, throwing everything they had at them as explosions ripped through the sky and courtyard.
Danny, Sam, and Danielle flew through the skies to engage Vlad in aerial combat, the evil half-ghost turning around to unleash a salvo of his Ecto-blasts at them, but they dispersed to avoid them before Danny flew in close to slug Vlad across the face, but he recovered to blast Danny back, only for Sam to come in with an Ecto-katana in her hand slicing at his chest to knock him back. Vlad quickly recovered as he generated his own Ecto-sword to engage Sam in a sword-duel, clashing their respective blades against one another. Their blades locked before Dani flew in to unleash a point-blank blast into Vlad's face and send him crashing to the ground, where Danny came in, blasting Ecto-beams from his eyes to further drive Vlad through the courtyard, but he recovered quickly and created a dome around himself to shield against Danny's assault, even as Dani added to it by throwing Ecto disks while Sam created a construct of a fifty caliber machine gun from her Ecto-energy and pounded on Vlad's shield.
Kim closed in on Drakken to throw in a series of punches and kicks, but Drakken had wrapped multiple plant vines around his arms to not only act as a defense against Kim's hand-to-hand skills, but even provide extra physical strength as he backhanded Kim to knock her to the ground. He lifted both his arms and tried to bring them down to crush Kim, but she flipped over the devastating strike and landed behind Drakken to sweep her feet and knock him down. However, more plant vines shot from his shoulders to ensnare Kim by her ankles, lift her up and throw her away.
Ron's enhanced Mystic Monkey Power gave him the speed and strength to keep up with Modula, up to the point the alien general was on the defensive using whatever speed and agility he had at his disposal to avoid all the strikes Ron tried to deliver. When Ron threw out a punch, Modula was quick to grab Ron by the arm, flip him over and pin him to the ground, driving his foot in-between Ron's arms and onto his chest to keep him pinned.
"All that power is meaningless if you don't know how to properly use it." Modula told him. "You still lack experience."
"Oh, I got experience." Ron replied. "Experience throwing down with alien warlords way bigger than you!" He closed his eyes and concentrated his inner power. Before Modula could react, a large whirlwind began to encircle the pair. Modula was forced off as Ron levitated into the air… this drew the attention of Danny, Sam, Danielle, and Kim from their respective fights against Vlad and Drakken, who were drawn in by the spectacle as well.
Kim couldn't help but get a sense of deja vu, remembering their clash against Warhok and Warmonga, and knew exactly what was coming next. "Go get em babe." She said with a smile.
Ron's eyes opened up with a confident grin, his blue Mystic Monkey aura shinning as bright as ever as he flipped through the air, landing not only behind Modula, but close towards Vlad and Drakken, making a hand gesture toward all three of them to bring it on.
Growling, Vlad was the first to attack, blasting multiple Ecto-beams at Ron, but he delivered several precise chops with his hands to deflect each of the beams, much to Vlad's shock before Drakken lashed out with his vines to ensnare Ron, but he easily flexed his own muscles to break the vines off him before grabbing one of them and pulled Drakken in before swinging him around to slam him into Vlad as well as Modula before letting go to send all three of them flying high and far over the walls surrounding the ruined courtyard, before completely vanishing.
"Whoa…" Dani's eyes widened in shock. "What… just happened…?"
"Dude stepped up, Monkey Style." Danny said with a nod and a smile.
"No clue what that means, but I'm not complaining." Sam commented.
Meanwhile, Doc and Drew both combined their blasts from their respective weapons at Argost, who was still encompassed by the transparent green Anti-Kur aura resembling a yeti, which changed its shape again to take the form resembling an enormous thunderbird, flying up over the blasts and back down to lash out its talons at the pair, pinning them to the ground in its crushing grip.
"Mom! Dad!" Zak was about to run and aid them, but Argost's power changed its shape once again to that of a Rakshasa, keeping the parents pinned underneath its front most claws before lashing out with its tail to knock Zak back.
Argost grinned manically as the jaw of the Rakshasa projection opened up and loomed closer on the struggling Doc and Drew. Zak knew exactly what Argost was doing, he was going to try and kill his parents and make him watch. It was cruel and petty, and totally Argost's style.
However, Zak had to calm himself down as he knew letting Argost get under his skin like that wouldn't help. This allowed an idea to come to him.
'If Argost can do that with his powers here, I don't see a reason why I can't do the same.' Their powers were equal and opposite, Kur and Anti-Kur. Closing his eyes and concentrating, Zak focused his own Kur powers as a bright orange aura shined around him, causing him to hover off the ground as the aura grew in size, taking its own shape and form as well, one that strongly resembled his adoptive brother, Fiskerton.
Acting quickly, the empowered Zak ran toward Argost, using his Fiskerton projection to grab Argost's Rakshasa projection, haul him off Doc and Drew, and throw him away. Argost gasped in shock, as did Zak's parents as they saw what their son had accomplished.
Within the Fiskerton-projection, Zak smirked at Argost, which only caused him to growl before his Rakshasa projection once again changed its shape to that of a yeti before rushing forward to clash and grapple with Zak.
Meanwhile, on the top of one of the walls surrounding the courtyard, Breach fell into a portal she created below herself to avoid the strike from Van Kleiss' extended gauntlet and re-appeared behind him to go in for a punch, but Van Kleiss used his other arm and enhanced strength to block her strike and bring his arm back to swipe at her, but she leapt backwards to avoid it. Van Kleiss dug both his hands into the ground to haul up a large piece of the wall and flipped it over on top of Breach.
However, a portal opened behind him as she fell out, having avoided being crushed, and attempted to strike her former master from behind. But Van Kleiss had anticipated this and grabbed Breach by her collar without even turning around. He then extended his gauntlet and curved it around to slam Breach into the wall below him before leaping down to fall back into the courtyard and drag Breach down the wall with him before throwing her out to roll across the ground.
"New looks, but same old tactics." Van Kleiss tisked in disappointment with a smile. "You never learn, do you?"
Breach curved her head upward and grinned back at him. "Oh, I've learned alright."
As soon as she said that, over a dozen portals suddenly appeared all around Van Kleiss, circling around him on the ground and above, almost like he was trapped in a dome of portals as Breach fell into one she created below herself.
Breach ran out of a portal from behind to strike Van Kleiss in the back of his head and knock him down as she ran into the portal across and out from one on the side to deliver an uppercut to knock him up and back. She then leapt out from a portal on diagonal angle and kicked him in his shoulder before landing on her hands and flipping up into a portal above and out from a portal on the side to strike both her feet into his chest. This process repeated over and over, coming in and out from every portal around him, striking him with such speed and precision that he was unable to find any sort of counter. After maybe the twentieth or so strike, Van Kleiss was brought to his knees, covered in bruises and even blood coming from his mouth as Breach stood over him with a glare.
"Go ahead… finish me." He told her. "You know I would do the same to you."
"Yeah, you would." She confirmed. "And as tempting as it is, that pleasure belongs to someone else. Someone you hurt even more than me." She grinned. "But me humiliating you like this is pretty cathartic on its own, don't you think?" A portal appeared behind him, just as she punched with her enormous upper right arm to send him falling into it.
He would pop up on the other side of the portal, that led into the endless abyss of Legerdomain just outside the castle walls.
At the same time, Humungousaur struck Vilgax across the face as the alien tyrant retaliated with a punch to the gut and grabbed Humungousaur by his shoulders and fell back to flip him over toward Rex, but the teenage EVO quickly flew over the tumbling Humungousaur and formed his Smack Hands to fly in and try to deck Vilgax, but he was quick to catch Rex's metallic hand before hauling him over to slam him onto the ground and throw him away toward the wall. During this time, Humungousaur grabbed Vilgax from behind in the form of a bear hug, but Vilgax quickly drove the back of his head into Humungousaur face, causing him to loosen his grip and allow Vilgax to escape by flexing his muscles. He then grabbed Humungousaur and hauled him over his head before throwing him in the same direction he threw Rex.
Rex had already pushed himself up as Humungousaur began to recover. "Man… this guy's just as much as a literal pain as I remember…" Rex groaned.
"Yeah… at least he doesn't have any super-charged magic powers, then we'd be in trouble." Humungousaur commented.
That gave Rex an idea. "Maybe, but that's not the only way we can upgrade." He said with a smile.
Getting his hint, Humungousaur grinned back before he pressed on his Omnitrix symbol, transforming into the alien known as Upgrade before merging himself with Rex's body. Pretty soon, all of Rex's body from the neck-down was covered in black with a green grid-like pattern spread across from him, donning the Upgrade Suit once again as the Omnitrix emblem appeared on his own chest.
"Ah yeah, we're back baby." Ben said confidentially as Vilgax approached them.
"A Galvanic Mechamorph merging to upgrade the boy's nanites and mechanic weapons." The alien tyrant observed. "Very creative, but not enough to stop me!" He declared as he drew his massive broadsword.
"You sure about that?" Upgrade-Rex created his upgraded version of the BFS, Alien Excalibur, and rushed Vilgax with it. They swung their swords at each other… only for the upgraded version to slice through Vilgax's like butter. Vilgax couldn't contain his surprise, which left him vulnerable for Upgrade-Rex to form a Power Fist on his right arm and punch Vilgax with enough force to send him flying and crashing into the castle. Not giving him a chance to recover, Upgrade-Rex formed the upgraded Slam Cannon, the Blast Launcher, and unleashed a salvo of missiles on Vilgax to encompass that entire area of the castle in an explosion.
Upgrade-Rex stood, simply waiting with crossed arms as he tapped his foot. As expected, Vilgax had leapt from the ruins and high into the air to raise his fists and slam them onto the ground, but Upgrade-Rex was able to leap back and avoid the crushing strike. He quickly formed both Power Fists and rushed Vilgax, who rushed his fused enemy in response, both grappled their hands against one another and appeared to be wrestling with pure strength.
"Bad move, Vilgeek." Rex taunted as he launched his Power Fists as projectiles, akin to missiles, and shot Vilgax straight up into the sky. Upgrade-Rex flew in pursuit, using his Hyper Jets to easily catch up with him just as they made it high above the courtyard. Upgrade-Rex them formed his Block Party build, which quickly upgraded into the Barrier Gauntlets, to trap Vilgax in a sphere of green energy, just as the Power Fists exploded with Vilgax inside but the shield even then held. But Upgrade-Rex wasn't done yet as he formed his Punk Busters, upgrading them into the spiked Super Cleats, and spun around rapidly like a top before striking the sphere to send it, and the trapped war monger, flying away at high speeds and into the open space of Legerdomain.
"Goal!" Rex cheered as he quickly made his way back to the ground, allowing Upgrade to separate from him and turn back into Ben.
"And that, is how it's done." Ben said as they exchanged a high-five.
Meanwhile, the Dark Dragon watched from a safe distance as it appeared the two dragons that had caused him so much trouble were completely engulfed by his mindless minions, trapped in the pile of attacking and shrieking Shade Demons, and seemingly dealt with.
"Pathetic fools, you should have joined me when you had the chance." The Dark Dragon taunted. "Instead, you'll join the dead!"
However, his declaration came too early as a bright light shined from within the pile of Shade Demons before it exploded in a massive column of flame, revealing the American and Chinese Dragons, both surrounded in an aura of their respective fires, almost like armor.
"And our answer to that is the same as back then." Jake told him in response. "We'll always stand against you." Jake was the first to attack, leaping into the air and spinning his body rapidly like a top to generate a wheel of flame that soared at and struck the Dark Dragon to send him crashing to the ground, where Lao-Shi waited as he pressed his hands to the ground and sent a wave of fire forward to erupt and expand below the evil reptile, engulfing him completely in flame.
"Our powers are just as much strengthened as yours our in this realm. We are every bit as evenly matched as when we faced you last!" Lao Shi declared, even as the Dark Dragon blew away the erupting flames with an aura of his own dark fire surrounding him.
"And on an even playing field, we'll always win!" Jake flew into the Dark Dragon, using his own strength to tackle him into the ground before blasting flames from his feet to further propel the Dark Dragon deeper into the ground. Not giving his enemy an opportunity to fight back, Jake spun his body around like a corkscrew and acted as something akin to a missile and a drill, further pushing the Dark Dragon deeper and deeper into the ground with Lao-Shi following his grandson.
Eventually, they emerged from the bottom of the floating island that the castle stood upon, the bottomless void of Legerdomain below them. As they emerged, Lao-Shi regrouped with Jake as they inhaled, generating as much of their enhanced inner fire as they could before unleashing a conjoined breath attack so massive, that it completely engulfed the dazed Dark Dragon and sent him falling and plummeting into the void.
"Well done, Jake." Lao-Shi nodded with approval.
"Yo, this magic land is awesome! Super-juiced American Dragon, boy!" Jake cheered and gave a whoop-whoop.
At the same time, Zak, still in his Fiskerton-projection, was forced down by Argost in his Rakshasa projection, but Zak was able to flip Argost off of him before his Kur powers' projection took a different shape, this time resembling that of Komodo, which leapt at Argost's Rakshasa-projection, wrapping his body, arms, and legs around him before biting down on the neck area. Argost then transformed again, his Anti-Kur projection taking the appearance of a Thunderbird once more as it flew into the sky, but Zak followed suit as his projection transformed into that resembling Zon and engaged in aerial combat to lash out with talons and teeth. Argost transformed his projection yet again, shaping it into a humanoid cobra, a Naga specifically, and ensnared its whole body around Zak's Zon-projection and pin its wings to the side, causing them both to fall. As soon as they landed however, the entire ground of the courtyard around them had transformed into water and they both sunk into.
Everyone around them had to take to the air in some way as Danny, Sam, and Danielle flew up, the latter two grabbing Kim and Ron with them, Rex also flew into the air as Ben transformed into Jetray, with Breach hovering via an open portal as she was half-way through from the waist up. Jake and Lao-Shi also flew in to pick up Doc and Drew respectively.
"Hey, what the heck is going on?" Jake asked.
"Argost's Anti-Kur powers are pure anti-matter, which doesn't mix well with positive matter." Doc explained.
"And if Legerdomain has made their powers even stronger than before, it's probably gonna cause even more reality distortion!" Drew added.
"Which isn't probably gonna help with the all the dimensional tears." Sam commented, looking up nervously as the tears in Legerdomain's space grew at a steady pace.
"How do we stop this?" Kim asked as they saw Zak's emerge from the water of the courtyard, his Kur aura changing it's projection form again into something resembling a massive version of the Hibagon as it held up Argost in his Anti-Kur Naga-projection, which changed its shape to take the form of a Grootslang and pressed against Zak. The water they were waist-deep in had changed its into lava as storm clouds began to manifest around them, and even the space of the whole area began to distort.
"We need to separate them!" Doc revealed.
"Okay, blast Argost away from Zak!" Danny ordered. "Breach, once he's far enough away, send him far away!"
"Understood." Breach ordered as the flying Avengers and their passengers flew in close toward the fight.
Danny was the first to go in, flying up to the face of the Grootslang-projection, and unleash his Ghostly Wail. The force of the attack was enough to push Argost back as Sam, carrying Kim with one arm, created an Ecto-chain construct and threw it out to ensnare around the neck of Argost's Grootslang projection. She and Kim grabbed a hold of it while Dani and Ron did the same, the latter's Mystic Monkey Aura giving more than enough strength to pull Argost back. At the same time; Jake and Lao-Shi flew up to aid Danny, still carrying Doc and Drew, and were joined by Jetray and Rex as they unleashed their long ranged attacks of Ecto-beams from Danny, fire blasts from most of the others, and even Rex formed his Fun-Chucks to slam them together and create a wave of blue energy. All the attacks were able to push Argost's Grootslang-projection back far enough and away from Zak.
"Breach! Now!" Rex exclaimed.
Acting quickly, Breach formed a massive portal underneath Argost, causing him to fall in and vanish just as she made the portal disappear.
The second he was gone, everything in the courtyard returned to normal. Space was no longer distorted, the storms above vanished, and the lava had turned back into solid ground. As the other Avengers and their allies touched down, Zak's own Kur aura began to dim and shrink before it vanished, and he fell on his hands and knees in exhaustion.
"Zak!" Drew ran up to him first, followed by Doc and everyone else.
"I'm okay… I'm okay…" He held up his hand as he pushed himself back up on his own two feet. "Sorry…about that."
"It couldn't be helped, Zak. You had to stand up to Argost." Doc told him. "Speaking of which, where did you send him anyway?" He asked Breach.
"A couple hundred miles from here." She replied. "First thing I could think of at the spur of the moment."
"Well, at least the Cabal's done. We sent them all flying." Dani said, interjecting what she hoped would be some form of victory.
"Yeah… now we just gotta worry about the giant space god hovering above us." Rex commented as they all looked up to see Titan and Max still engaged in a ferocious battle against Dagon.
"I really don't think Titan and Max are gonna last much longer…" Kim said.
"No, they can't. They can't stop Dagon… I doubt the rest of us can make much of a difference." Ben grimaced as he looked back toward the castle. "Come on Gwen… We need you to hurry up in there."
Much of the interior of the chamber where Charmcaster was being held looked ready to fall apart as blasts of magic from Gwen and Hex were shot outward to blast away several of the Sleepwalkers that encircled the group. Tucker added to some of the firepower with his Ecto-blaster. This allowed more breathing room for Kevin as he, Zed, Fiskerton, Zon, and Komodo charged forward.
Kevin's hands had turned into mallets which he used to pound away several Sleepwalkers, even as he was faced by a group of six, Fiskerton had leapt over Kevin and stomped onto one to destroy it before grabbing a second and used its body as a weapon to smack away the rest. Zed leapt onto one Sleepwalker to tear away with her teeth while Komodo did the same with his own claws and talons as Zon lashed out with her claws to tear away at the others.
As Kevin pounded the last one into the ground, he was smacked back by a tail-swipe from Rani-Nagi, who hissed angrily at him before rushing him. He retaliated by puncher her face to knock her back, but she was quick to recover and wrap her tail around his ankle and slam him into the ground. This however left the Naga Queen open for Fiskerton to leap at her from behind and wrap his arms around her neck to pull her back and off as Zon came in with a caw to lash her talons at Rani Nagi's face.
"You okay, dude?" Tucker asked Kevin as he helped him to his feet with Zed and Komodo by his side.
"I've had worse." Kevin brushed off.
"Then allow me to correct that." Nocturne said as he appeared above them, green Ecto-energy materialized as flames around him before unleashing them on the quartet.
Hex threw out his staff to blast pure dark magic at Addwaitya, who responded with magical beams from his eyes. Both attacks clashed and pushed against one another.
"I was surprised but not completely unexpecting a betrayal from you, Hex." Addwaitya told the dark wizard. "Though I helped in destroying your family, you seemed to have lost the motivation to even live."
"I have motivation now… not to live but to kill. To kill you!" Hex declared as he held out his free hand to generate a cluster of glowing red crystals, which he threw out towards Addwaitya in the form of projectiles. Many of them struck, breaking Addwaitya attack and forcing him to erect a shield to protect himself. However, he went on the offensive again as he slammed his palms on the ground and channeled his magic to turn the ground below Hex into quicksand, causing him to start sinking.
Meanwhile, Gwen waved her hand to create a mana-shield to protect herself from the lightning bolts shot out by Pandarus. "Hmm, powerful and beautiful. I don't suppose you wouldn't mind coming to work for me, young lady?" He asked.
"Not interested." She replied as she threw out her free hand to create a mana-construct that took the crude shape of a hammer, which she used to pound Pandarus into the ground. "I've had enough womanizing creeps in my life."
Fiskerton was suddenly thrown at Gwen, knocking them both to the ground as Rani Nagi had swatted Zon away. The Naga Queen raised her hands, channeling her own dark mysticism, further enhanced by Legerdomain's power to create a series of energy strands around her body, which all materialized in the form of snakes. When it was said and done, it appeared Rani Nagi had four glowing snake heads emerging from her sides.
"You are indeed powerful." She spoke to Gwen specifically. "Possibly rivaling that of the original Kur. But not even you can stop our masters!" She extended her magical snake-heads at Gwen, who quickly shielded herself as well as Fiskerton and Zon with her own magic.
While the bad guys were distracted, Fu and Rufus made their way over to Charmcaster as the magic dog tried to pull on the restraints. "Ah man, these guys really know what they're doing." Fu commented. "This stuff is made with refined unicorn horn. Even dragons would have a hard time busting through it. What are we gonna…?"
"Hush." Rufus shushed him before he stood straight, the naked mole rat placing his hands together and focused. While he wasn't as strong as Ron, Rufus had been exposed to the Mystic Monkey power before, and that has always been a part of him. And now that he was in Legerdomain, that dormant power has only grown.
Suddenly, Rufus' body was encompassed in a blue aura much like Ron's before he brought one of his paws down for a chop on the restraint closest to him, breaking it and freeing Charmcaster's right arm. He then leapt into the air to deliver a flying kick to the restraint around her left leg, leapt up again to deliver a headbutt strike to the one on the right leg, before finally leaping again to bite down and break the last restraint on her left arm.
As Rufus stood proudly, Fu Dog couldn't help but look in surprise. "Dang… Not bad pinky." He said to the naked mole rat with an impressed grin, who gave a thumbs up.
Tucker fired his blaster at Nocturne, but he easily swatted away the blasts with his hands before blasting at the ground Tucker was standing on to send him crashing into the wall. Nocturne ended up being impaled from behind, courtesy of Kevin who turned his right hand into a spear. But Nocturne, who had been unaffected, turned his head a full one hundred eighty degrees to face the surprised Kevin, grabbed him by his face and threw him at the wall where Tucker crashed into. Four Sleepwalkers then appeared from behind the wall to grab a hold of the pair and pin them to that very wall. Even as Zed and Komodo tried to help them, two more Sleepwalkers emerged from the floor to pin them down.
"A valiant effort, but all for naught." Nocturne said as he looked over Kevin and Tucker. "Now then, I'll be taking that wretched thermos from your possession."
Tucker only smirked. "What thermos…?"
"You mean, this one?" Fu Dog appeared behind Nocturne, quickly drew the Fenton Thermos that Tucker gave him, and activated it. The suction beam struck Nocturne, much to his shock and began to suck him in.
"What?! No… No!" Nocturne desperately tried to fight but, it to no avail. He was already half-way sucked through as he made one final cry. "NNNOOOOO!" With that, Nocturne had been sealed as Fu slammed the cap shut.
"Sweet dreams." Fu cracked as the Sleepwalkers restraining Tucker, Kevin, Zed, and Komodo vanished without their master.
"The old switcharoo, huh?" Kevin said, looking impressed.
"Never fails." Tucker said with pride as they and Fu shared a three-way fist-bump.
At the same time, Gwen appeared to be struggling against Rani Nagi's enhanced power, which forced her back towards Hex, who had been blasted back by a powerful magic fire ball thrown at him by Addwaitya. Fiskerton and Zon had both tried to come at Rani Nagi, but her magical snake appendages extended to bite down on the two Saturday cryptids and slam them onto the ground as Rani Nagi focused her attention on Gwen and Hex with Addwaitya doing the same.
"Time to rid ourselves of these vermin! Once and for all!" Rani Nagi declared
All four of her snakeheads opened their mouths to generate blasts of energy as Addwaitya charged up his eyebeams as well. When they unleashed them however, both attacks were halted in mid-flight, encompassed in a pink glow as Gwen stood tall, a strong pink aura surging around her as her eyes glowed as well.
With a flex of her hands, Gwen shot both attacks shooting straight up through the roof, obliterating a large part of it. Immediately after, Gwen's human form vanished as she transformed into an Anodite, her bright pink energy surging and illuminating the whole chamber, catching everyone's attention. Even Hex looked up in amazement, as this was the first time that he had seen Gwen in this state.
Rani Nagi and Addwaitya, however, could only look in terror before Gwen's Anodite form turned her attention toward the Naga Queen. She extended her one hand and blasted a powerful wave of energy, one so strong it sent Rani Nagi flying and crashing through the wall and outside, where she would keep flying long past the courtyard of the castle and into the void of Legerdomain down below.
"Impossible… what are you…?" Addwaitya backed away in fear.
A battle cry from Hex suddenly caught his attention, but it was too late for him to act as the dark magician shot himself at Addwaitya, generating a blade made entirely out of dark magic from his staff and impaled Addwaitya, making sure to pierce his heart.
The magical humanoid turtle gave a gasp, his shocked eyes gazing down at those of the vengeful Hex as he wrenched out his staff. "Vengeance is mine."
Those would be the last words Addwaitya would hear as he fell on his back, lying dead on the ground.
Hex turned back towards Gwen as her Anodite form slowly descended to the floor before she turned back into her human appearance, stumbling a bit. She would have fallen had Kevin not caught her.
"Whoa, gotcha." He smiled at her, which she returned with a smile of her own.
"Okay… that was freaking awesome!" Tucker exclaimed with a grin. "You're like a magic demi-goddess!" Fiskerton himself gave a chipper of joy as he spoke in his own native tongue, in the same congratulatory sense towards Gwen.
"So cool!" Rufus cheered as he scurried up to Fiskerton's shoulder.
"I've seen some pretty high-level stuff, but you toots got the 'magic' touch!" Fu said, more than impressed as well while also sneaking in a joke. "Zing-ba-bam! Ba-dam!" He said with a laugh.
"Thanks… but we're not done yet." Gwen said, standing up straight as Kevin let her go. "How's Charmcaster?"
"She's alive." Fu confirmed as he turned toward the unconscious girl, who had been moved from the spot where she was restrained to and to a relatively safer area. "But she'll be out for a while."
Hex couldn't contain his sigh of relief as Gwen contacted her friends. "Ben, we got Charmcaster."
"Yeah, the rest of us took care of the Cabal too…" Ben reported. "But… we got a major problem."
Back in the sky, Titan was blasted back by the eyebeams shot at it by Dagon. Even as Max tried to ride in close, blasting whatever kinds of magic attack he could muster, they were all ineffective against Dagon's raw power, who merely directed a series of bolts from the sky and down onto him. Max tried to dodge as best as he could, but he was struck on the side by one and knocked down.
"The others aren't gonna hold much longer against Dagon, and I doubt the rest of us are gonna make that much of a difference." Ben said as he and the rest of the team looked up at the losing battle in the sky.
"Even if we do stop Dagon, we gotta do something about those dimensional tears." Danny said.
"And they're growing bigger by the second." Breach said, looking to see one tear was already expanding. "If we don't do something soon, we can kiss Legerdomain goodbye. And the aftershock of the other worlds affected by all this could be catastrophic."
"Well don't just stand there! We gotta think of something!" Dani urged.
"Wait a minute…" Zak looked towards one of the large pilons. "We have control over the device that brought Dagon back together. What if we could somehow reverse it…? Or even use his power to repair the tears in reality?"
"That could take way too long." Doc said. "We don't even know what sort of technology the Cabal used to make this whole thing."
"And that's not even taking into account all the mysticism that was used in the process." Drew added.
"Or, how about we keep it simple?" Rex got an idea. "Ben turns Upgrade, merges with the machine sucks Dagon back up. And since Ben can upgrade this thing how he wants, how abut he reprograms it to use Dagon's power and fix everything."
"That's… actually not a bad idea." Ben said, sounding surprised himself.
"Really?" Ron asked.
"I kinda used Dagon's power before… so it wouldn't be anything new." Ben confirmed. "I'm thinking it could work."
"Okay, so what do we with Dagon's power once it's all fixed?" Jake asked. "Do we just erase it or…?"
"I'm afraid that would be impossible." Lao-Shi put in. "Dagon is being of pure energy, and energy, magical or otherwise, cannot just be destroyed. It is impossible."
"So, get rid of it like you guys did last time." Sam suggested.
"But what's to stop the Cabal from doing this whole thing all over again?" Kim questioned.
"Perhaps we could send it somewhere else?" Breach suggested. "Somewhere the Cabal can't get to it?"
That gave Dani an idea. "What about the Unworld?"
"The what?" Rex asked.
"Something Frostbite told us about." Danny explained. "It's supposed to be a limbo-realm between our Earth and the Ghost Zone. Apparently whatever enters that world fades away to nothing. But we've even heard of that place till now, we don't even know how to get there."
"She might." Dani said, looking toward Breach, causing all eyes to set on her.
"I-I've heard of the Ghost Zone… something Professor Paradox told me about… but I've never been there. I've never heard this Unworld either." She said. "I can't open a portal to somewhere that I don't even know about."
"Then maybe this can help." Dani presented the Infi-Map to her, much to the surprise of her friends.
"The Infi-Map?!" Sam exclaimed.
"Swiped it from Vlad during our fight." Danielle explained as she handed the map to Breach. "It's supposed to lead you to anywhere in the Ghost Zone, right? It even leads you to portals back to Earth. And if it can do that, I'm sure it can show you how to get to the Unworld. Once you know that, you should be able to make a portal there, right?"
Breach opened the Infi-Map, causing it to activate and project all the transparent doors, causing her to look in amazement as she processed everything Dani said.
"That'll work."
"Did you guys get all that?" Ben asked over the comns.
"We got it." Gwen confirmed.
"Yeah, I heard about the Unworld too." Tucker said. "We can just dump old space-squid-god up there and he's done!"
"Um, did you guys forget that Dagon can cross dimensions!?" Kevin reminded. "What's to stop him from just coming back if we just dump him there?"
"What were to happen if a mortal were to enter this Unworld?" Hex asked, stepping forward and getting their attention.
"Uh… Frostbite didn't really say, but he did say, and I-quote, 'when something enters that realm it's impossible to escape'. I guess he was talking about mortals and ghosts." Tucker guessed.
"Then I have a solution." Hex began. "Use Dagon's power to repair the tears in reality as you suggested. But once that is done, infuse myself with Dagon's power and send me to this Unworld."
Needless to say, they all looked in shock at that request.
"Saywha?!" Fiskerton exclaimed.
"Nuh-uh! No way!" Rufus shook his head rapidly.
"You want us to give you god-like power? Yeah, not happening skull-face." Fu Dog shook his head.
"I can't use Dagon's power, it's too much for my physical form to handle." Hex said.
"Nice try pal. You're not going god-mode on us." Tucker shook his head.
"He's telling the truth." Gwen said. "Dagon's power is too much for any mortal being to handle."
"Vilgax and Ben were both able to use it." Kevin reminded.
"Vilgax's body at the time had been reconstructed into something native to Dagon's dimension, so he was more 'in-tuned' to Dagon's power." Gwen explained. "And Ben had Ascalon, which acted as a conduit to control all of it. Hex doesn't have any of that. If he were to asorb all of Dagon into him… His mortal form would detorate and…"
"I would die." Hex confirmed. "And if this Unworld is anything like you say, and all mortal forms fade away in that realm… whatever causes that would further accelerate my body's erosion, as well as all that dwells within me. I may die… but Dagon will be destroyed too."
"What if it doesn't though?" Fu asked. "What if Dagon just ends up coming back either way?"
"Then it will give you time to prepare a more effective counter-measure." Hex insisted. "Time is against us. Your friends facing Dagon will fall, and the rest of us will be next. If free, Dagon will threaten the entire multiverse. But you have a chance now to stop or at least delay him. One life for the sake of trillions or more… I'd say that is a fair price to pay."
Gwen, Tucker, Kevin, Fu, Fiskerton, and Rufus, even Zon, Komodo, and Zed, all looked to one another with uncertainty.
"Are you really serious about this?" Gwen asked. "If we do this… you'll die. Are you really willing to give your life up like this?"
Hex spared a glance towards his unconscious niece and gave a sigh before responding. "My brother entrusted his daughter to me, sacrificing his own life in the process. And what have I done in return? I tried to conquer your world, forcing my niece to remain by my side and corrupted her, turning her into something worse than even I could have imagined. I have done nothing but shame the memory of my brother, and everything I've done afterward has been wrong. But for once, allow me to do the right thing, for perhaps the very first time in my wasted life. My only request, is that you take care of her. If she requires punishment, fine. But… don't let her rot or waste away as I did. Find a way to help her… please."
Gwen looked into Hex's eyes and saw the mixed emotions of determination, guilt, and pleading. She could tell he was dead serious about this. She turned back towards her friends as they had serious yet somber expressions, coming to a silent agreement.
"Ben…?" She accessed her comns.
"We heard." Ben looked to the rest of the group as they had mixed expressions themselves. A part of him considered using Alien X to fix all of this, but he'd have to get Serena and Bellicus to agree; and even with the fate of more than one universe at stake, he was doubtful he could get either of them to listen.
"Guys… if we do this… he'll… really die." Dani muttered. "We'd… would we… actually kill a person?"
"No, young one." Lao-Shi spoke up. "Killing and murder are when you take the life of an individual against their will. This is a choice, one that Hex has made. It is not murder, but sacrifice."
"That doesn't make it any easier, Grandpa." Jake said, having mixed feelings himself.
"But it might be our only option." Doc said. "We don't have time to think of any other way… I'm sorry."
"So… assisted suicide?" Rex thought.
"Something like that…" Drew confirmed.
"W-We never did anything like that before… ever…" Ron stuttered. "KP… are we okay with this…?"
"I don't think we have a choice." Kim said with reluctance as she turned to Danny. "Well Danny, you're the leader. What's the call?"
Danny wasn't quite sure at first. He understood the logic of it all, but it also didn't feel right. He never really knew Hex, but that didn't lessen the burden of sending somebody to their death. He never did anything like this before either. Was it really the right call to make? Countless lives were at stake, but is sending one to die really going to save all of them?
His thoughts were interrupted as he felt a gentle grasp on his hand, turning towards Sam as she had a somber-yet-serious expression on her face. One look in her eyes was all he needed to see. He knew the answer that had to be made, he just wasn't sure if he had the strength or responsibility to make that call. But deep down, he knew what had to be done.
"Do it."
With reluctance, Ben activated his Omnitrix and transformed into Upgrade once again. He walked towards the nearest pylon and fused his body with it. Upgrade's form merged with the machinery of the pilon and quickly spread throughout the entire castle the massive machine was attached to.
Upgrade's form spread up to even the roof and the chamber where Gwen and the others currently were, opening up the entire roof as Upgrade began to work with the machinery that Charmcaster was previously attached to.
Titan fell from the sky, crashing onto a large floating island that hung somewhere nearby Charmcaster's castle. The mighty hero had never looked so worn down before… its armor nearly broken through, its limbs mangled, and its body was no longer able to move.
Next to the fallen Titan was Max, his clothes were torn up as his body looked worse for wear himself, covered in bruises and burns. He was hunched over, using his cane to support himself as he appeared out of breath, even his sunglasses were broken. A flash of light on his side briefly blinded him before he looked to see the three that had formed Titan were lying on the ground in exhaustion as well.
Illana and Lance tried to catch what breath they could as Octus' central unit was also on the ground, still functional.
"Titan's defenses… couldn't hold…" Octus reported, his voice somewhat distorted and filled with static. "Recharging energy…"
"I don't think… we have time for that…" Lance stuttered as they all glanced up to source of the the massive shadow casting over them, the malevolent deity gazing down upon them, with a sense of victory and satisfaction in its dark and unholy eyes.
"Such is the fate of all who dare to defy the will of Dagon. Did you insects truly believe you were even capable of defeating me?"
"Kinda… yeah… Still do…" Max grinned up at him, despite being injured and exhausted.
"After being scattered across universes, I am finally whole, and am overflowing with generosity. Beg for mercy, speck. Deface yourselves before me, and I shall grant you a brutal yet swift demise." Dagon offered.
"How generous…" Lance muttered. Soon, however, he, Illana and Max received a communications alert from their teammates, even Octus received it via his sensors. This was enough to cause Max to chuckle.
"You find your demise humorous? Mortals truly are a contradictory."
"I think I know… why you kept losing before…" Max spoke to Dagon. "You're just so… full of yourself. You call us specks… and insects… and stuff like that… like we can't even touch you. And that's exactly… why you lost… because you underestimate us mortals."
"I shall not repeat that mistake. Your meaningless lives end here!" Dagon declared. He was about to blast them again with his eyebeams…
Only for a massive green energy blast to shoot at him from the castle below, one that was thoroughly encompassed by Ben in his Upgrade form. The second the beam struck; Dagon was encompassed in the same kind of energy as he screamed in agony.
"We weren't trying to beat you, Dagon." Illana said with a smile. "We just… had to keep you busy…"
Dagon struggled with all his might, but he couldn't escape. He felt his very substance being drained, just like back then.
"No! No! This cannot be! Not again!" His whole body began to condense and shrink at an exceedingly rapid pace as more and more of his being was being sucked away. "UGH! NNNNNNONOOOOOOOO!" His entire being was sucked away and pulled into the Upgrade-machine that comprised the entire castle Ben had commandeered in his alien form.
Breach had managed to open a portal to bring in Illana, Lance, Octus, and Max to the top of the tower where the Avengers and all their allies had gathered, including the still unconscious Charmcaster as Gwen had erected a bed-like projection for her with her mana. The entirety of Charmcaster's Castle appeared to be merged with Ben's upgrade form as he had just absorbed the last of Dagon's power, commandeering the Cabal's machine to bring it all together.
"I got all of Dagon's power." Ben reported.
"Can you fix all the damage the Cabal had done with it?" Danny asked.
"I'm on it." A large mass formed from the rooftop, which began to take a shape resembling satellite-like device. It immediately activated and began to broadcast multiple green energy waves, similar to radio waves, which expanded all throughout the entirety of Legerdomain.
Charmcaster's eyes began to stir open as she slowly regained consciousness. "Ugh… wha… what's going…?"
"Take it easy…" Gwen was already by her side. "Try not to move too much."
"You… what's happening…?" Charmcaster asked in a daze. "Where's the Cabal… and Dagon…?"
"My friends and I defeated them." Gwen explained. "We were able to gain control of the machine used to piece Dagon together and using his power to fix all the damage that's been done."
It was true, as the energy waves spread throughout Legerdomain, the glowing white dimensional tears began to shrink and condense, repairing themselves. In a matter of moments, the rips in space would be healed.
"It's done." Ben reported. "The tears have been mended."
"Then there is only one thing left to do." Hex said, turning around briefly to face his bed-ridden niece as he slowly walked toward her. Gwen stepped back with everyone else to give them some space.
"Uncle Hex… I…"
'Sshh, it's okay." He kneeled to her level and caressed her cheek. "Hope… I am sorry. I'm sorry I tried to lead you down my path… I'm sorry I couldn't have been a better parental figure… or even a better person for that matter. I should have given you a better life… but right now, I'm going to set things right. I hope one day… you're able to find some measure of peace and… even happiness. I truly wish that."
"What are you… talking about…?" Charmcaster tried to pull herself up, not quite liking where he was going with this.
Hex cupped his niece's face in his hands and kissed her forehead. "Goodbye, Hope." He then stood up straight and walked toward the satalite device as Ben's Upgrade form began to reconfigure it for what was needed. As he walked, the Avengers and their allies (excluding the recovering Illana, Lance, Octus, and Max who didn't know what was going on) stood up straight, almost at attention, like they were paying him their respects, creating a straight path for him, while Breach walked behind him.
She had studied the Infi-Map and knew how to create a portal to the intended destination.
Hex then stood in front of a device that Upgrade had made to transfer Dagon's power to him, taking the form of several laser-like objects that all aimed at him.
"I am ready."
"Hey Hex…" Ben began. "You've done a lot of bad stuff, but for what it's worth… what you're doing now… you might just have the makings to be a hero after all."
A small smile formed on his face as he gave a nod in acknowledgement. "Maybe."
Ben then fired all of Dagon's power, in the form of red energy, and shot it into Hex.
Charmcaster's eyes widened in shock. "Wait… what are you doing?!" She tried to get up and stop them, but Gwen held her back.
"No! I'm sorry but… you can't!" She tried to hold her back, Charmcaster's weakened body was unable to so much as conjure a spell to stop this.
It was already done. All of Dagon's power had been transferred into Hex's body as it turned into a glowing bright red, surrounded by a dark aura. But it wouldn't last much longer. It was now or never.
With a sigh of remorse, Breach opened a portal above Hex, one that would lead directly to the Unworld, and brought it down onto the Dagon-infused Hex. He vanished, and the portal closed.
That was it. Hex was gone, and he took Dagon with him.
Charmcaster fell to her knees, her eyes circular and her face pale. It almost felt like her heart had stopped.
"What just happened?" Illana asked.
"We figured out a possible way to get rid of Dagon permanently, at least we hoped it was." Kim gave a brief explanation. "We sent him into a limbo-world where everything would fade away. But… since he's a trans-dimensional god… we had to confine him into a… mortal body. Hex volunteered."
"I see…" Max stood up with a serious and understanding look on his face. "I guess it couldn't be helped."
Charmcaster couldn't believe it. Her uncle, her only remaining flesh and blood relative was truly gone. First her father as a child, now this? Tears fell from her eyes almost automatically before she sobbed and balled a second later. Gwen wasted no time in pulling her into an embrace, providing what form of comfort she could.
As Upgrade removed himself from the castle and machinery, turning back into Ben, the other Avengers and their allies hung their heads down in silent remorse, even Illana and Dani sniffled a bit as Fiskerton rubbed a single tear from his eye. Hex was an enemy to a few of them, and someone the others barley even knew, but he gave up his own life to save the multiverse, leaving his own broken niece behind in the process. While this was truly a victory for them, it couldn't feel more bittersweet.
The Next Day
After returning from Legerdomain, most of the heroes took the time to return to the mansion and rest up, even bringing Charmcaster along, who lacked any sort of will to resist or fight back. Danny ended up returning to the Ghost Zone to not only give the Infi-Map back to Frostbite, but even pay a visit to Clockwork to make sure it all went as they had hopped.
Clockwork explained to Danny that while the dimensional-tears from Dagon's reassembly had been sealed up, it was more akin to stitching a wound shut then healing it completely. There would be some form of scaring in not only the shared fabric of reality of Danny's Earth and the Ghost Zone, but even the other worlds affected by this. There will be some consequences in the future, but for now, the multiverse was safe.
Danny also had to make sure of what happened in the Unworld. Being the Ghost of Time and capable of peering into other spots of reality that other beings could not, Clockwork was able to confirm this as well. Hex's mortal body had rapidly deteriorated with all of Dagon's power inside him, and being trapped in the Unworld had caused his deteriorated form to fade away, along with all of Dagon's energy inside. Both Hex and Dagon were truly gone now.
The long night was now over. It was a bright and sunny day at Avengers Mansion, though the mood surrounding the people occupying the outside courtyard was also one of remorse.
The Avengers consisting of Danny Fenton, Kim Possible who held hands Ron Stoppable as Rufus stood on his shoulder, Ben Tennyson, Rex Salazar, Jake Long, Zak Saturday, Illana, Lance, and Octus (in his Newton appearance) all stood alongside all their allies that had joined them on this mission. Sam Manson, Tucker Foley, and Danielle Fenton stood close to Danny as Sam held his hand, while his free arm kept his younger sister close. Ben stood alongside his cousin Gwen Tennyson and his best friend, Kevin Levin, with Zed standing by her owner's side as well. Doc and Drew Saturday, along with Fiskerton, Komodo, and Zon stood by their son as the father put a hand on his shoulder. Lao-Shi stood by his grandson with Fu Dog as well, the former putting his hand on Jake's back. Even Maxmillion Ambro and Breach stood at attention.
Charmcaster was also there, standing at the very front of the group as they all paid their respects. In front of all of them was a single gravestone that had only a few words on it.
'Hex. Wizard. Uncle. Avenger.'
"I'm sorry for your loss." Illana told Charmcaster, walking toward her. "We all are."
"Thank you… but it's over now." She turned around and walked away.
One-by-one, the group began to disperse as they began to talk with one another about what exactly their future would entail.
"So, the Cabal got away huh?" Sam said as she stood with Danny, Tucker, and Dani.
"Yeah." Danny confirmed. "Most of slipped away when we sent them flying. Pretty sure they're already coming up with a new plan."
"We did capture a few of their guys though; Nocturne and that Pandarus creep." Tucker put in.
"And that Addwaitya guy is dead too. So, there's that." Dani added as well.
"True, but the fight's not over. They'll be back." Danny said.
"And we'll be ready for them, don't you worry babe." Sam smiled as she patted her boyfriend on the back. "No matter what, we got your back."
"Yeah man. The next time the multiverse is in peril, just give us a call." Tucker said.
Danny smiled. "Consider yourselves to be reserve Avengers. We still need people to look after things back home."
"We'll talk to Mom, Dad, Jazz, and even Valerie about that. Heck, even Frostbite might be able to volunteer, and I know we got more allies in the Ghost Zone too." Dani said.
"No sign of that Alpha Rune, thing?" Max asked, standing and talking with Kim, Ron, Rufus, Jake, Lao-Shi, and Fu-Dog
"Nope. The Cabal must have snatched it." Kim assumed.
"Yeah… that's probably gonna come back and bite us in the butt one day." Ron said with a wince, Rufus nodding in agreement.
"Indeed, such a relic could be dangerous in the hands of those in the Cabal who can use magic." Lao Shi said.
"Well, it wouldn't be the first time the bad guys got a hold of something like that, and we still come out on top." Jake said with a grin. "We still got all our friends on our side, we're standing together, and that's how we're gonna beat the Cabal."
"Got that right, Kid." Fu grinned. "We'll talk to the Dragon's Council and have them keep an eye out for anything suspicious."
"I can even pull some old strings with Global Justice." Max added. "And get in touch with the rest of your contacts."
"Thanks, Max. It's really good to have friends." Kim said. "Cause I feel like we're gonna need as many as we can get."
"Thanks again for coming to help us, Breach." Rex said to her, with Illana, Lance, and Newton standing with him. "You saved our asses multiple times, heck you helped save the whole multiverse!"
"I'm glad I could help but… Well…" She looked away slightly, shifting her body almost nervously. "Remember last time… when you guys offered me a spot on the team…? Does that offer still stand?"
"You want to join the Avengers?" Lance asked.
"Yes." Breach confirmed. "Traveling with Paradox for five years… has really helped me. I wasn't ready before… but now I am. Fighting with you guys felt… right. I… I want to be a part of that. Part of a team that, unlike my last one, I know has my back. And I want to have your backs to. So…" She bowed her head to them. "Would you please accept me as one of you?"
Illana, Rex, and Newton, even Lance exchanged smiles with one another. "Breach, of course we'll accept you. You're not just our ally or teammate, you're our friend."
"We would be honored to have you as an Avenger." Newton nodded.
"Well, guess it's settled." Rex offered his hand to breach with his usual smile. "Welcome to the team."
Breach smiled emotionally, already crying tears of joy as she pulled not only Rex, but also the entire Titan crew into a group hug with all four of her arms. "Thank you! Thank you! I promise you won't regret it!"
"You're sure you're okay, Zak?" Drew asked her son as the whole Saturday family stood together. "No fluctuations or anything your powers."
"I'm fine, I promise." Zak repeated for the hundredth time. "Gwen, Max, and even Octus looked me over. My powers are back to normal, nothing out of the ordinary."
"Just making sure." Doc said. "Being in the realm of magic could have had potentially dangerous side effects."
"Oh? So, you're saying you've accepted magic as real?" Drew asker husband teasingly, who playfully rolled his eyes in response.
"Okay, fine magic is real. I admit it." Doc accepted, but he grinned back. "But, based on our recent experience, it also seems to follow its own set of rules. So I'd say magic is a science all on it's own."
Zak shook his head. "Some things never change. So, you guys are gonna talk with other Secret Scientists about the Cabal?"
"We will." Drew confirmed. "So that when they rear their ugly heads again, we'll be ready for them."
"You know we always got your back, Zak." Doc assured.
"I know." Zak nodded as Fiskerton came up to him and spoke in a mumble that only Zak could understand while also gesturing to himself, Komodo, and Zon. "Really?" Zak asked in surprise. "You guys wanna stay here?"
"Yes." Fisk nodded with Zon and Komodo giving their own affirmative chirps and growls.
Zak then looked to his own parents, wondering what they're response would be. "Hey, don't look at us. It's their choice." Doc said.
"You kids are growing up, so you gotta make your own decisions. And they've decided to stay with you." Drew added with a loving smile.
Zak turned toward his adoptive Cryptid siblings with a smile. "Family sticks together, no matter what."
Fiskerton gave a cheer as he pulled Zak into a hug while Zon and Komodo brushed up against Zak in loving affection.
"So, what you do guys say?" Ben asked Gwen and Kevin, with Zed by her owner's side. "Would be nice to have the whole team back together."
Gwen smiled. "We appreciate that Ben, we do. And you know we'll help if you need it… but, I still got my responsibilities back home."
"So do I." Kevin added. "I'm gonna work at being a full-time Plumber. Ya know, like my dad."
Ben gave a single nod and a smile. "That's fine. You guys do what you want. It's your life. But we will probably need your help in the future so… how about part-time Avengers?"
Gwen and Kevin exchanged looks and smiled. "I think we can work with that." She said.
"Sounds like a plan." Kevin grinned. "So long as I get access to some of that sweet Galalunian tech. I mean, that stuff is freaking sweet!"
"Especially when it can be used to form a giant robot, right?" Ben said knowingly, before he and Kevin exchanged a fist-bump.
Gwen shook her head in amusement at their antics before looking past them to see Charmcaster staring up at the wall of the mansion. She then walked toward her and stood right next to her.
"Seems like a nice place." Charmcaster said.
"It is. Not ours, but still." Gwen replied.
"One heck of a team you guys got now." Charmcaster said again.
"It sure is." Gwen replied.
The older young woman gave a sigh, ending whatever attempt at small talk. "You're going to arrest me now, aren't you?"
"I'm sorry… but I promise… I'll do what I can to help." Gwen told her. "I'll make sure they don't just lock you up and throw away the key."
"I really don't get you." Charmcaster turned to face her. "After everything I've done… all the times I've hurt you, tried to make you miserable, or even tried to kill you… Hell, I did kill you, and your friends and… why after all that… would you even think about helping someone like me? Leaving me alone in a pit is the least I deserve. Besides, I've already lost the rest of my family… it's not like I have anything left to live for."
Gwen didn't quite have an answer to give at first. "Charmcaster… No… Hope. Listen… there's no denying what you did… all of it… to me and everyone else… you've crossed many lines. You've done a lot of bad stuff… but that doesn't mean you're a bad person."
"I am a bad person." Hope insisted.
"No, you're someone who is… troubled. Someone who needs help and… even a friend." Gwen said. "And I can be that for you. I can help you; I want to help you. You don't need to be alone, we don't have to keep fighting and hurting each other." Gwen extended her hand. "Let me help you."
Hope looked toward Gwen in surprise. Despite everything, she still wanted to help her. One look in her eyes told her she meant every word. She remembered bringing her father back at the cost of every living being in Legerdomain, and the words he said to her. She would never forget the look of horror in his eyes at what she did, but she would also never forget the final words he spoke to her. 'I love you'. Those were also the last words her uncle had said to her. Despite everything, she knew that Hex and Spellbinder had both loved her till the end… and in the end, that's all she ever really wanted. She wished she could go back in time and fix it all. Maybe even actually try to befriend Gwen when they first met that one summer. Things would have been different. But she couldn't go back, she knew that. What's in the past was in the past, and there was no changing it. But maybe… things can still be different in the present.
Though it was hesitant, Hope accepted Gwen's hand. "I'm ready to pay for me crimes."
A few moments later; the Avengers consisting of Danny, Ben, Kim, Ron, Illana, Rex, Lance, Jake, Newton, Zak, Breach, Fiskerton, Rufus, Zon, and Komodo all stood across from their allies consisting of Sam, Dani, Tucker, Gwen, Kevin, Zed, Max, Lao-Shi, Fu Dog, Doc, Drew, and even Hope as they all waved their goodbyes before Breach opened up three portals that would take them back to their respective Earths.
Sam, Tucker, and Dani walked into one of them; Max, Lao-Shi, and Fu walked into the second; while Gwen, Kevin, Zed, Doc, and Drew escorted Hope into the third. The portals then closed, leaving the Avengers and their newest recruits alone in the courtyard.
"I don't know about you guys, but I could use some sleep." Ron said with a yawn, with Rufus yawning as well.
"Now that is a good idea." Kim agreed as they all went back into the mansion to get some much-needed rest.
After a long-fought battle, they had earned it. Of course, they would also need all the rest they could get. Because while the battle was over, the war against the Cabal was still raging. But now they not only had new members on the team, but even reserve and part-time members who are going to gather all their allies and contacts to prepare for the upcoming war.
The Cabal was still out there, planning their next move; but the Avengers would be waiting.
The End
Thus ends the premier of Season 2, 'Night of the Beyond'
I told you this chapter would be big. I had so much fun writing all these fights, as well as everything that happened afterward. There is so much to take away here now…
*We had our first major character death: Hex.
Though he was first introduced as a villain, he died as a hero, saving the multiverse and his niece in the process and taking Dagon with him.
Yes, Dagon is gone for good… and Addwaitya is dead as well. You can expect there to be some more death at different parts in this story as well. As for who will die, you'll just have to wait and see.
*Breach, Fiskerton, Zon, and Komodo have also joined the Avengers full-time; while Gwen, Kevin, Sam, Tucker, and Dani are part-time/reserve members.
*The Cabal may have lost Dagon, but they still have the Alpha-Rune… of course, there is another purpose to it than just being a magical relic. (Remember the reason Aggregor was looking for it. Hint, hint)
*Though the Avengers were able to somewhat reverse the process of bringing Dagon back that nearly tore up the fabric of reality with Legerdomain, as well as Earths DP, KP, and B10 (and the Ghost Zone as well), there will still be some aftereffects of all that, which we'll see in later stories. You can't just tear up the fabric of reality like that and expect things to just go back to normal. You'll see how things go.
As this story in my series concludes, I will be taking a small break from my Avengers series. But soon, I will be writing my episodic stories once again, even a bit in-between each of my other stories… but I have to keep it evenly spaced so I don't burn myself out writing all these stories at once.
Thank you for understanding.
I love and appreciate all the support you've given me, and I promise to have the next Avengers story started later this year. Until them, rest easy.
