Adventurers of The Dragon Prince!
One beautiful spring day in New York Jake was with his best friends Trixie, Spud, and Rose. They were on their way to the subway so Jake and Rose can get to Draco Island easily and so that no one will see Jake perform real magic.
"Are you sure you can't go tomorrow?" asked. Spud.
"My lessons start early in the morning. I don't like the idea of spending my spring break going to royal lessons either but I have to." replied, Jake.
"If you say so. We'll miss you while you're away." said, Trixie.
"You guys can call me through my phone still."
"We'll be back before you know it." commented, Rose.
"Alright. See ya soon." said, Trixie and Spud as they waved goodbye.
Jake and Rose get on the train and wave goodbye through the window and soon they made it to Draco Isle and didn't throw up at all thankfully.
Jake went to the castle with Rose and saw his grandpa, Fu Dog, Haley, and his parents there waiting for him.
"Welcome to your second home young dragon. You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow." said, Grandpa.
After dinner, Jake, Rose, and Jake's family went to their separate rooms. Jake gets into his bed excited and nervous for his first day at Royal Academy. Who knows what awaits him in this new enchanting world and how far it will push him? Hopefully, he can survive the first day.
The next morning a servant pixie came into Jake's room to wake him up. Jake wakes up and almost fell out of bed but saves himself by making a platform to land on.
"Oh, sorry Dragon Prince. I came to tell you that breakfast will be ready in five minutes and then it's off to school." said, the pixie.
"Thank you…" started, Jake.
"Oh, right my name is June."
"Thank you, June. I'll be down in a minute."
"Of course."
June flitters out of the room as Jake steps off the platform he made, flicks his hand as the platform disappears. Jake goes into his dragon form, puts on his crown, amulet, and his bracelet was already on his wrist. Jake went down the stairs to the dining hall ate breakfast, said goodbye to his family and Rose. He then flew off to Royal Academy.
Jake lands and was greeted by Sun Park, The African dragon, and the Atlantis dragon.
"We're the headmistresses and master...of Royal Academy. We're so excited you're here." said, Sun.
We're always looking for a few good princes and princesses for all of the countries." said, Councilor Andam.
"That's great because I need to learn to act like one as quick as possible." stated, Jake.
"Oh! Oh my! I'm afraid it will take a little longer than a few days to learn how to be a prince." Said, Councilor Omina.
"You see When someone new enrolls here at good old Royal Academy, they're at that great beginning. They're taking that first step your lessons will commence here once you pass through this door so why not come and join us and see what lies in store? You'll learn the art of manners of royal protocol. That's right, and when to bow or curtsey for functions big and small. You'll read books of fact and fiction of poetry and prose. You'll learn to give a royal speech while perfectly composed. At Royal Academy, step by step, you'll gain wisdom and pep. So, heed the call come to be all you can be. Every task, every test just give it your best and we'll do the rest. You'll see and don't forget our motto to which you'll be true 'Rule over others as you'd have them rule over you.' You're taking your first step at Royal Academy. We'll explore enchanted objects. Each creature, every charm so spells of evil magic will never do you harm. In arts and crafts, you'll draw and paint or maybe work with wood. You'll learn to fence as well as dance. For footwork both are good. At Royal Academy, step-by-step you'll gain wisdom and pep. So, heed the call we're royal all the way." explained, the three older dragons.
"Time for class Prince Jake. Follow me." said, Sun.
Jake follows her to his first class so he won't be late or get lost on his first day at Royal Academy. Sun Parks opens the classroom door as the other dragons were chatting away happily. Fred Nerk was easily heard as he was telling a story about Jake when he first had dinner with him at the castle.
"Class, we have a new student. How should we greet him?" asked, Sun kindly.
"Good morning." said, everyone to Jake.
"Good morning. Ooh!" exclaimed, Jake as he drops a book.
"Oh, dear. Let me help you with that. Here's your book." said, The Swedish Dragon as she picked up his book.
"Hi! I'm Jake. The American Dragon."
"We thought so." said, the Spanish dragon.
"Wow. Nice bracelet." Commented, the English dragon.
"Thank you." Said, Jake.
"I'm Princess Alice." said, The Swedish Dragon.
"I'm Prince Luis." said, The Spanish Dragon.
"My turn. I'm Princess Lillian." said, The English Dragon happily.
Soon all of them were let out for recess before their next class starts in 30 minutes. Fred Nerk came up with an evil plot to play on Jake.
"Hey, Jake."
"Oh, hi, Fred. What's going on?"
"Have you tried the enchanted swing set? You don't have to kick. It swings itself. Go on. Try it. Swings itself."
"Never heard of that before." Said, Jake as he sat on the swing and it start to move. But then it starts to go faster until it goes too fast.
"Oh, no." thought Jake.
"Whoa!" yelps, Jake as he flies off and lands in the water fountain.
"Good one, Fred. You got me." Jake sits up in the fountain still in dragon form.
"Oh. Don't worry. The first day is always the hardest, he played the same prank on me." said, Luis as he helped Jake out of the fountain.
"I better go dry off before the next class." said, Jake trying not to cry as he ran off.
"Jake Wait!" called out, Fred.
"I thought you said he was your friend." said, Alice.
"He is."
"You don't act like a friend to him."
The school day ended and Fred followed Jake back to the castle to try to apologize. Jake landed with Fred Nerk a good distance behind him.
"I shouldn't have played that prank." thought, Fred.
"Jake! How was your first day of school?" asked, Haley as she greeted her big brother.
"Tougher than I thought it would be."
"Oh, poor thing. How about I show you the new magic practice room?"
"Wow! This is really neat, Haley." said, Jake as he entered the room.
"I found out that the bracelet grandpa gave you is called the Draconic Bracelet, it contains powerful magic. With each deed performed, for better or worse, a power is granted, a blessing or curse."
"I'll keep that in mind."
Jake woke up the next morning got dressed transformed and was not excited to go to school at all.
"Time for school." called Susan Jake's mom.
"Mmm-hmm." groaned, Jake.
On the front steps of the castle, Haley hugs Jake goodbye.
"Don't worry about the other kids, Jake. You gotta keep your eye on the ball."
"You're right, Hales. I'm going to learn how to be the best prince ever. That'll show 'em."
"You go, big brother!"
After Jake came back the castle was a buzz with the preparations for the official welcome party for Jake. As this was a big deal for Draco Isle and maybe this time Fred can get the courage to apologize.
"How was school?" asked, Susan.
"I thought being a prince would be easy. But it's really hard." replied, Jake sadly.
"Hmm. I know just what you need." Susan pointed to the other side of the ballroom.
"Spud! Trixie! Rose!"
"I thought you could use some familiar faces."
"Thanks, Mom! Spud! Trixie! Rose! I'm so glad to see you and they let you out of training too Rose.'
"Hey, Jake! Also, it's great to see you again too." said, Trixie and Spud.
"As always I'm not too far away." said, Rose.
That night every royal came to the castle for the party. Princess Lillian pulled Fred aside to talk to him.
"What you did wasn't a prank, Fred. You're trying to ruin Jake's party and I know why."
"Because he doesn't belong here?"
"No. Because everyone likes him more than you and after what you did that day, so do I."
"You don't mean that."
"Yes, I do."
"Wait. Lillian! Come back!"
Outside the ballroom, Jake in his dragon form was not feeling up to partying at all. He sat down on the ground against the wall crying. His bracelet started to glow again but only the purple heart charm.
"Danny? What are you doing here?"
"Your bracelet brought me here. It links all the princes that ever were and when one of us is in trouble, another will come to help. Why are you so sad, Jake?"
"If I go into that ballroom everyone will laugh at me because of what happened on my first day at school."
"I think I can help you find the way to make sure they won't."
He Helps Jake to stand back up.
"Everyone's heard about the day that Clockwork came to me he carried me off and far away from my simple life. But ever since I became the phantom prince and left my hurts behind. There's one regret I won't forget that weighs upon my mind. My bullies let their jealousy harden their hearts but when they ruined my first ball that's not all they tore apart. If only we had tried to see a way to start anew. We may have found that this time 'round our friendship could only grow. We could have been true allies if we only made amends. True, true allies and ever after friends, you suddenly feel that all is lost. Frightened and sad, but maybe yours isn't the only heart that's sinking like a stone. Though many of the ones you love are waiting for you, someone who's a lot like you never made it to the dance."
"But Fred's been so mean to me."
"Perhaps all he needs is a second chance. You could be true allies. If you only make amends, True, true allies and ever after friends."
Danny disappears from sight as Jake opens the library door.
"Fred?"
"What do you want?"
"I want to say that I forgive you and maybe we can start over."
"I'm sorry I was just jealous because everyone likes you more than me."
"That's not true. You're the most popular prince at Royal Academy. You have no idea how happy I was when I found out we were going to be classmates."
"Jake, we're friends. I'll make sure no one will laugh at you ever again."
"Thanks, Fred."
"Thank you, Jake, for giving me a second chance."
Jake was dancing with his friends and got Fred to join them and Fred happily joined them.
"I've been wondering, why do they call you "Fred the Second"?" asked, Jake.
"Because my father, was also named Fred."
"So, I guess that makes me the official Jake the First after all."
"I guess it does."
"I used to go to sleep at night so thankful for my simple life. Up at all the stars, I would be gazing. An ordinary guy it seems but never in my wildest dreams could I imagine something so amazing. 'Cause then in just an instant all of that changed and my whole life was re-arranged, it's time to rise and shine, wake up and make the day mine. In this brand-new world, I'm at the starting line. But I know deep down that it will all be fine. 'Cause I'm gonna rise and shine!" sanged, Jake.
