The many escapades of Zarbon: Volume Three

Zarbon goes on a safari

After an issue that they had with their plane flight, Zarbon and his friends Tanjiro, Nikki, and Lilimon were all able to make it to the Sinnoh region. There, they went to Pastoria City, where they were able to meet up with their friend Dawn, the champion of Sinnoh. "It had attacked the plane that you guys were flying in?!" Dawn said in surprise when Zarbon and the others told her of what all happened to them as they flew to Sinnoh.

"Luckily for us, both Lilimon and I can fly," Zarbon explained, "So after she and I had grabbed Nikki and Tanjiro respectively, we flew out of there, saw what that dragon was doing, then fled while it wasn't focused on us.."

Looking to Tanjiro's left side where his Nichirin sword rested in its scabbard, Dawn remarked to the elite Demon Slayer, "I'm surprised that you were able to recover your Nichirin sword from the plane's wreckage Tanjiro, and that it's seemingly unscathed."

"I actually had it on hand when we fled," Tanjiro explained, "I was able to bring it onto the plane by showing my Demon Slayer license."

"Well the Pastoria City Great Marsh," Dawn began, "Which we will be going into, doesn't permit any weapons period, so you're going to have to leave it with the front reception desk before entering."

Lilimon looked curious. "Great Marsh?"

Dawn nodded in confirmation. "Yes, the Great Marsh. It's basically the Safari Zone of the Sinnoh region." With a bit of an amused smirk, Dawn went on, "I hope that you all are ready, because we're going to go on a Safari!"

"Oh my!" Zarbon said excitedly, "I've always wanted to go on a Safari! This will be so exciting!" With everything else out of the way, Dawn proceeded to lead the group right into the Pastoria City Great Marsh, where they would go on a Safari.

...

Inside of the Great Marsh, Zarbon and the group focused on Dawn as she explained to them how the Great Marsh worked. "Now guys," Dawn began, "The purpose of the Great Marsh is for folks to go on a Safari to capture some wild Pokémon."

"With these?" Nikki asked as she held up a Safari Ball.

Nodding in the affirmative, Dawn said, "Yes, those. They're called Safari Balls, a model of pokéball used exclusively in the Safari Zones of the many regions, such as Sinnoh's Great Marsh here."

Holding up a hand, Tanjiro asked, "Pokémon battle one another, right? So can't we just use other Pokémon to battle and weaken the ones we encounter here in order to make them easier to ca-"

"Actually, you aren't allowed to battle the wild Pokémon who live here in the Safari Zone," Dawn began to explain, "You can only either flee from wild encounters, or throw a Safari Ball, or throw a rock, or throw some bait."

"Rocks and bait?" Zarbon asked, "How do those work?"

"Throwing a rock at a wild Pokémon here ups the likelihood it'll flee," Dawn said, "But makes it easier to catch if it doesn't flee. Throwing bait at a wild Pokémon here has the opposite effect, less likely to flee but harder to catch. The best bet statistically speaking to catch a wild Pokémon here is to just immediately go right for throwing a Safari Ball."

Holding up a hand, Nikki asked, "How come we can't battle the wild Pokémon here to make catching them easier?"

Sighing a bit, Dawn replied, "Because the logic of things like this in the various regions is held together with Duct Tape and begins to unravel at the slightest bit of scrutiny." Looking like she had just remembered something, Dawn went on, "Oh, there's some bog areas in the Great Marsh here. Watch your step, or you will get stuck in really deep."

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOO!" Zarbon cried out in aroused, sensual pleasure, "This Great Marsh place is sounding better and better! I can't wait to get cracking on-"

Dawn cut Zarbon off when she heard some rustling in the bushes that were close to the group. A few seconds later, a shiny Bidoof came out of those bushes. "I can't believe it!" Dawn said, "A shiny Bidoof! No one make a-" Dawn stopped short when Lilimon threw a Safari Ball at the Shiny Bidoof, who went into the Safari Ball and was successfully caught.

Turning to face Dawn, Lilimon asked, "That's how catching Pokémon here in this Great Marsh place works, right?"

"...Yes," Dawn said in a flat, monotone kind of tone.

After a fun filled day, Zarbon and his group caught six Pokémon per group member, with Lilimon's Bidoof, Drapion, Yanma, Kangaskhan, Carnivine, and Marill all being shiny. Dawn couldn't believe the ultimate level Digimon's incredible luck.

Author's notes;

Picking up immediately after the previous chapter, this chapter sees Zarbon and his group relax in Sinnoh with Dawn, who show them how the local Safari Zone, called the Great Marsh, works, with Lilimon showcasing incredible luck that both impresses Dawn and makes her jealous all the same time. Anyway, the next chapter will see Zarbon and Perfect Cell's trio go back to Royal Woods to see the Loud siblings and help with with some work around the house.
