Aqua: Anyone seen Amy?

Dash: Nope. Carter?

Carter: Nada.

Dusk: My god, he can speak another language!

Carter: Shut up! Everyone knows what Nada means!

Dusk: Then everyone should know that you have nada brains.

Carter: Take that back!

Dusk: No, I'd rather not.

Flare: SHUT UP! OUR AUTHOR IS MISSING!

Carter: Oh, yeah...

Dusk: Whatever.

Surge: I'll contact a search party!

Eleanor: And I'll do the disclaimer! Amy47101, wherever she may be, does not own pokémon!

"What do you think made them rampage like that?" I asked Forrest. The situation became awkward after the little incident between us earlier, and we basically sat back to back, avoiding each others gaze and faces.

"I dunno." Forrest answered. He tried to shrug, but let out a hiss of pain as his wing moved. "It's disturbing, actually." he muttered. "I know it sounds crazy, but the trees told me that they weren't like this before. Sure, they live on Peril Cliffs and are kinda competitive, but never left the area to challenge another opponent. And I don't think they ever caused an avalanche like that before. The only time they ever caused actual damage was when Team Dim Sun hypnotized some Rampardos and ordered them to attack an old cliff. No one knows why, though. I twas suspected that they were searching for dark shards, but I think it was proven that none are here."

"So they're generally peaceful, and never leave the area." I said, summing up everything he said in a sentence.

"Well, I wouldn't say peaceful... but yeah, I guess."

"Think you can walk through this mission?" I asked.

"The wing hurts, but I can probably walk through it." he shrugged. "You know, painkillers and all."

"You sure?"

"Positive."

"Okay, then." I pulled up the quest board on my styler, and brought up the Peril Cliff quest. I tapped it with my finger, and typed in our names.

"Quest Accepted!" my styler sang out.

"I'm gonna call up Carter." Forrest said, typing the number in. It rang for a few minutes, and we got a response. Carters holographic head appeared, although he wasn't focused on us.

"Damnit, Forrest, this better be important!"

"I just wanted to tell you that we're going to find out why these pokémon a rampaging. Wendy is tracking us, right?"

"Yeah, I think so!" Carter threw up his arms to block an attack. "Arceus, I'm calling you back!" The screen went black.

"Well, wasn't that productive?" I said, placing a hand on my hip. Forrest blinked, and turned the call function off. He stood up, and we walked over to the wall, vines growing on the surface. "Can you climb it?" I asked. Forrest said nothing, studying the vines for a moment.

"I can do better." he said as he took out his flute. Playing a few notes, vines began rearranging themselves until they formed a hammock-like seat. He sat down onto the makeshift hammock, and patted the spot next to him. I looked at him skeptically.

"Are you sure that this thing will hold us up?"

"You'd be surprised." Forrest smiled.

"All of us?" I asked, glancing at Rosalind and Tyson, who both hopped up there like it was nothing.

"Sure." Forrest said with a shrug. "Don't be afraid of it." Slowly, and somewhat unsurely, I climbed onto the hammock thing. I wasn't one to be afraid of things like these, but if this thing snaps, well, I don't know if I'd be able to fly the four of us to safety. Meaning a very painful fall and, possibly, death. The hammock began to ascend the wall as Forrest played the flute. Once we reached the top, we climbed off, and with a small blow of the flute, the vines began to go back to their original place.

"You're kinda like an Arbok charmer." I said as we traveled the same way up the next wall of vines. "Only you have powers over plants." He opened his eyes momentarily, still playing the instrument, amusement sparkling in the green orbs, before closing them again and continuing on his playing. After one more ride, we came across the first round of pokémon. Their eyes where completely black, but other than that, I really saw no difference.

I glanced around, getting a slight buzzing in my head.

"You feel it? Are you okay?" I asked. Forrest let out a grunt. His eyes had shaded over, and he was shaking uncontrollably. Wether it was from that freako buzzing, or anger, I couldn't tell. He shook his head, as if trying to clear fuzziness, looked up, and put on a peaceful smile.

"I'm fine." he answered, like everything was completely okie-doke. But something nagged at the back of my mind, telling me everything wasn't fine. Deciding, for once, not to argue, we continued onward.

I glanced over nervously at Forrest. He was panting again, and I was worried that he was loosing control, and was going to turn over to Dark Forrest. But what was causing this?

Usually, it only happens when he is interrupted during meditation, or he's mega pissed. But so far, neither happened. Sure, there was the hypnotized pokémon, and, yeah, that pissed me off to no end, but Forrest just seemed to take the mission calmly and peacefully, only coming into this Pre-Dark Forrest Shift-I guess?- when we got close to the wacko stones controlling the pokémon. Then he would snap out if it, and would continue on. And as of now, it was really beginning to freak me out.

I looked over the ledge, and saw a couple of Hellion grunts walking into a large cave.

"I'm going in." I said as I headed towards the ledge. "You stay here. and keep watch for Wendy." he grunted something under his breath. Slowly, he looked up at me. His eyes were dilated with fear. Shaking racked his frame, and I think he nearly crushed the rock under his hand. "You gonna to be okay, man?"

"I don't-I don't think so." he muttered, stumbling over words. "I'm trying to fight it, but it's not working."

"Rosalind?" I asked the Eevee. She was no longer distracted by chasing her tail, but her form took on an overall seriousness, nearly matching with Miles. She walked around Forrest.

"(Somethings setting off the Demon Blood inside him.)" she muttered.

"I don't get it." I sighed as I scratched my head. "If we all got the same amount of blood in us, then how is it effecting us each so differently?" I looked back at when the rest of us had experienced the blackout, 'dark' modes since we reunited from the Hellion Boat incident. The only two who seemed to have any huge changes was Eleanor and Forrest, Eleanor having small, quick blackouts and then snapping out of it, and Forrest going into a complete rampage before slowly regaining control when commanded or yelled at. Everyone else only experience the small headaches around the stones, and the horrid sickness that came when being around Demons.

"(It must react differently with different people. Like a disease.)" Tyson muttered.

"Yeah, a nasty, horrid disease." I said. I let out a long sigh, gears turning in my head. "Tyson, Rosalind, you stay here with Forrest. I could care less what you have to do, make sure he stays here and keep him from, well, you know..."

"(Going Dark?)" Tyson chirped up.

"Yeah, just don't hurt him anymore than he already is." I said this as a warning, cracking my knuckles in the process. They nodded, and the trio watched as I climbed down the vines.

I watched as my ranger owner climbed down the vines, I turned towards Forrest. Slowly, he rose, letting out long huffs of air. He stumbled for a moment, but suddenly ran forward with an amazing burst of speed. Seeing that he was going to possible jump off the cliff and after Flare, Rosalind quickly used Frezny Plant. The large vines wrapped themselves around his waist, carefully avoiding his injured wing, and held him midair.

"(Forrest, listen to me.)" Rosalind said, her voice deadly serious. "(You can't go after Flare. You'll hurt her in the end, and you know it. Just stay put.)" Forrest said nothing, his eyes shaded over with his bangs. He relaxed his struggles, and for a moment, Rosalind let out a sigh, believing that he had she was dead wrong, for the Nature Angels head suddenly snapped up, his eyes wide open.

For a split second, several emotions ran through his eyes at once. Fear, pain, a look that could've made even Giritina forgive you, then he went limp, and his eyes were shaded again.

When he lifted his head a few mere seconds later, he let out a sick cackle of a laugh, and then we saw his eyes. They were crimson red. The color of blood.

The eyes of a Demon.

I snuck into the cave, keeping close to the wall as possible. As the cavern became darker, I began to run my hand along the wall, but suddenly pulled back, hissing as something burned through my glove. I pulled it off, and with a snap of my fingers, a small flame ignited on my finger, running it above my palm, I was shocked to see burns.

I, the Angel of freaking Fire had gotten burned. I was immune to being burned. In fact, hot surfaces powered me up. What in the name of Arceus is going on here?!

Sliding my glove back on, and making a mental note to talk to Eleanor for a quick heal up, I continued forward, trying to avoid the wacko walls. Soon, I began to hear voices.

"Those Dim Sun twits must've really had been dim." I rounded a corner, and stopped cold, seeing tons of Hellion grunts and one admin. "I mean, this place is practically a gold mine!"

"Yeah, only with Demon Glass instead of actual gold." Another grunt said to his buddy as he brought a pickax down onto some strange mineral. It was nothing I've ever seen before, but then again, I didn't pay much attention to Ms. Aprils earth science course back in Ranger School.

...

Now that I think about it... how the hell did I manage to graduate? I was the kickass girl at school. I was third in line for most detentions per month, behind Carter and Dash, and was notorious skipping class. I'm surprised Kincaid even let me on stage for a diploma.

I slapped my cheeks, bringing myself out of the thoughts of the past and back into the present. I'll save that for later, I've got to focus on what's happening now.

The grunts were using pokémon to haul this 'Demon Glass' out of the makeshift mine, yet they seemed unaffected when they touched the shards. Was it different with me because I had the Angel Gene?

"Think of how happy Boss-man will be when we bring all this stuff back."

Boss-man, Boss-man, Boss-man, why can't they just say his motherf-ing name?!

Pickaxes dropped with a clatter, and everyone was suddenly staring at me. I blinked, wondering what I did wrong. Did I actually... say that out loud.

Shit.

"Uh, hey." I said with a wave. "How's it going on your end? Any new promotions? A good day?"

"A ranger!" the admin gasped. I rolled my eyes. Isn't that kinda obvious? "Seize her!" The grunts rushed forward, wielding their mining tools like some sort of terrible weapon.

"Yeah," I said, still continuing on from my conversation starter from before. I pulled my hands from behind my back. "Didn't think so." a flamethrower shot from my hands, nearly searing the grunts clothing off. As they screamed like children, I turned, and bolted out of the cavern.

I exited the cavern, far ahead the Hellion grunts, and skidded to a stop. Forrest was right there, looking very... ominous, I guess? Far more ominous than I have ever seen him. Seriously, he had a freaking aura that seemed to want blood. I think even I was slightly afraid, the only thing keeping me from throwing a flamethrower at him was the fact he was the sweet, gentle, peaceful Forrest.

"Forrest?" I asked gently-yes, I asked him gently- not wanting to set him off. "You okay?"

"Okay?" he asked, smirking. Slowly, he looked up, his eyes a deep blood red. I choked back a gasp. Don't show weakness, Flare. Do not show weakness to a man. Show 'Forrest' that you can stand up to him. "Why, I'm absolutely fantastic, Flare!"

"You don't sound, nor look 'fantastic'." I said slowly, ignoring Tyson and Rosalind as they jumped in front of me, both growling at the teenager. Ignoring the Hellion grunts that stopped dead behind me.

"This is power, Flare. It's a gorgeous thing, isn't it?" he walked forward. "Look at what we can do!" he flicked his hand, and huge vines erupted from the ground, wrapping around the grunts, and even Rosalind and Tyson, the vines growing a good fifteen feet above the ground. "We're so much better than any of these people, any of these creatures on the earth." he took another step forward, I unintentionally took a step back. He smirked, and I cursed my stupidity. "Are you afraid of me, Flare?"

"I'll have to think about it. Talk to me when you're sane."

"Flare, listen to me, I am sane. The other me? That was insane. I came to my senses."

"Crazy senses you're hacking into." I muttered.

"Hear me out." he placed his hands on my shoulders, looking me strait in the eye. "If we can turn the others over, then we can bring down the demons, we'll have humans down on their knees, I can get your father, the man who betrayed you and your mother to writhe in pain and beg for forgiveness. We can rule the world." He took in a breath. "But I need your help." I refused to meet his gaze. This wasn't Forrest. What happened to him? Was it the stones? I was angry. At Team Hellion? Of course! I always had an unending rage towards them. But I think I was more angry at Forrest for leaving me behind with this dark version of him. I wanted the old, tree loving, flute-playing freaking pacifist back.

It happened so fast, I don't even think it ran through my mind. I guess my rage was so pent up, that I let it all out in one attack. I smacked him clear across the face. His head snapped to the side, his eyes once shaded over once again.

"Snap out of it, damnit." I growled. "You're not you. So come the hell back, and be Forrest again!" He looked up again, his eyes back to there normal green color.

"What was that for, Flare?" he asked, bringing his hand up to his now red cheek. I shook my head, and gave him a pat on the back.

"Do me a favor, and let our partners down." I said. He blinked, and turned towards Rosalind and Tyson, Rosalind swatting at a small leaf and Tyson trying to bite to his escape. Slowly, the vines lowered, and released the Eevee duo.

"Hey, are you going to let us down?!" demanded a grunt.

"Sure! When the top rangers come!" I yelled back. I turned back towards the cave, pokémon filtering out, enraged when they saw their trainers. I looked at Forrest, and he glanced back. We both brought our wrists up, smirking.

"Capture on!"

"Okay, Eleanor, the bone's back in place, you just have to work your magic!" Wendy smiled, pulling her hands away from the wing. Forrest put on a pained smile as I ran my glowing silver hand along the wing. Forrest let out a sigh of relief as the pain washed away. I've never broken a bone before, but I can imagine that it's bad.

Sven had gathered the grunts together, and they are currently being transported to a police station. Flare and Forrest had informed them of the unusual mineral in the Peril Cliffs, whom Sven had informed Prof. Hastings and would be investigated immediately.

"I still can;t get used to the fact that our new coworkers are these super-powered Angels!" Wendy cried out happily as Forrest folded his wings under his clothes. "Who else knows?"

"Our families, and Summer and Ben knows about me." I said.

"So, can we talk to them about it?" Sven asked.

"I would rather it not." Dusk said. "They may know about her," he nodded his head towards me. "But they're clueless about us. Even our families are in the dark about each other. They don't need know nor should learn about it." he looked up at us, boring his gray eyes into each of us. "We shouldn't drag them into it any deeper than they already are." There was a long silence, no one speaking.

"He's right." I admitted slowly. "And based on what Flare had told us what happened to Forrest," I glanced at the duo. Flare avoided my gaze, and Forrest blinked, obviously confused. "It would only make their lives harder."

"What's with all the seriousness?" Sven asked, using his hand ruffle Carters hair like an older brother. "You're the next group of top rangers! Welcome to the Union!"
