I saw Catching Fire last weekend! *EPIC FANGIRL SQUEAL* OHMYSTARCLAN IT WAS AWESOME XD

It was soo perfect! Almost exactly word-for-word to the book LOL! I'm so happy…

Anyway, here's the chapter XD

You can give the wolves the following items: small game (Rabbits, muskrat, squirrels, and small birds), flint, herbs for clotting blood, large game (elk), foot traps (for catching wolves) and small traps. This list will grow as the Game progresses.

Leif lay curled inside the thorn bush. What an ingenious idea! Yes. Yes, it was. Perfect. If a tribute came across him, he would be unreachable. Yes. Good. He licked a bloody scratch on his shoulder. His plan did have its downsides, but for now he was okay. Yes. . .

Strategies and plans flitted through his head like flies. In and out. In the midst of the clutter of ideas and thoughts, one word seemed to stick out. Delaney. He could form an alliance with her? That is, if she wasn't already dead.

He thought of the day she had been brought to her Pack. She had been a moon-cycle old, only a few days younger than him, and her mother had stumbled into the Square, which was a place where the mothers watched over their pups and where the Choosing took place, fell over, and died. Delaney had become Leif's adopted sister, but she had always been so quiet, never playful. Muttering of revenge and murder. She had been his closest friend, and he was disappointed when they had both been chosen for the Game. He rose to his paws, slipping out of the den of thorns. Yes, he would find Delaney. Yes . . . Good.

Laine awoke to find Sarahi's head on his back. She had apparently slept beside him that night, as she was sleeping soundly. Her muzzle was resting across his shoulders. He didn't want to wake her, but he had to get up. "Sarahi?" He whispered softly. She groaned but didn't stir. "Sarahi, you need to wake up."

Lazily, Sarahi slid an eye open. She liked being able to monopolize Laine's attention. She often felt Margo's jealous gaze burning her fur, but she simply brushed it off and pretended that Margo simply did not exist. "Okay," She mumbled, rising slowly to her paws. Livadi slept on the other side of the den. Her ears perked and nose twitching. She suddenly peeled back her fangs in a snarl, but her growling was reduced to a whimper as she continued to dream.

Margo poked her irritably with a claw. "Get up." She snapped. Livadi jerked awake, snarling ferociously, but seemed to recognize Margo and shook her fur, embarrassed. She turned briskly to Laine. "How much prey do we have left?"

He shrugged. "A few days' worth." He scratched his side absent-mindedly. "Do you think. . ." He trailed off

"What?" Sarahi snapped her head up to look at him.

"Do you think we could bring someone into the Pack?" He asked, almost distantly, like he wanted to be elsewhere.

Sarahi cocked her head.

"You know, like a different tribute? Say, from Pack Eight?"

Sarahi curled her lip. "You can't be serious. Shard was a total idiot." Laine shook his head, and Sarahi snorted. "That shy little she-wolf. . . Syra?"

"Her name is Sylvia." Laine snapped. Sarahi shoved her ears back, aghast.

"We already have a Pack Nine wolf here," Margo glanced pointedly at Livadi, who bristled.

"What are you looking at?!" She snarled.

"I can't tell, either a wolf or a worm." Margo shot back.

"Well-" Livadi began to speak, lunging forward, but was knocked down mid-sentence by Laine.

He sat on top of her, not letting her up. "Shut up," He howled. "Shut up, all of you!" He dug his claws into Livadi's shoulder. "We won't make it two seconds in the Game of we kill each other off! And it's just the second day, you idiots!" He nipped at Margo, who flinched away from him.

Sarahi snarled at him. "Laine…" She growled softly. "It's the Misery Games. There isn't supposed to be peace."

He swung around to face her. "But we don't need to be killing each other yet, either!" He said pointedly, thinking of Sylvia and her understanding his grief. He couldn't just brush off that connection like nothing had happened and kill her like his friends planned to do! But he had to keep the Career pack together so he could ensure that he would find Sylvia before they did.

"Well, some wolves deserve it!" Livadi grunted from her position in the soft, muddy ground. Margo bared her teeth.

"Fine." Laine backed up. "Go ahead. Kill each other. Break up the Career pack and see if any of us live without Sarahi's forest knowledge." He glanced at the she-wolf. "Or Margo's hunting skills. Or Livadi's sharp senses." His gaze darted from wolf to wolf. "Go on." He leaned back as they looked anxiously at each other. "We still have two weeks in here, and lots of other Tributes to kill. It's a bad idea to kill each other just yet."

Sarahi snorted disbelievingly as Livadi shot a venom-filled look at Margo and strutted self-importantly from the den. "Laine, you may have a point, but our pack isn't going o hold up much longer."

Laine nodded, Sylvia's face flicking through his mind. If the Career pack fell, he would find her first. He had to, for her sake. But he would hold the Career pack together as long as he could.

Adine lifted her head up at the sound of pawsteps, and Delaney's face appeared again. "Can you walk yet?"

Adine nodded shakily, getting to her paws. Her whole body trembled involuntarily as she climbed cautiously from the tree. Her throat burned, but she shook her head, ignoring the pain. With a scared smile, she sniffed Delaney's fur.

Delaney bent to lick Adine's head. Adine flinched away, but her ears perked when Delaney spoke. "Allies?"

Adine's eyes widened. Though she wouldn't say it aloud, she was terrified of this wolf. "Why would you want to be allies with me?" She said.

"You'll understand later," Delaney said, skirting around the subject. "Anyways, we have to concentrate on finding Sylvia."

Adine nodded quietly. Delaney smiled awkwardly at her, but she winced as memories began to flood swiftly back to her.

Adine reminded her of herself as a pup. Scared, alone, timid. She had seen Adine, lying on the ground, gasping for breath, with blood pouring from her shoulder and welling on her neck, and it had sparked a memory. Delaney had staggered, bleeding, into the Square. Terrified. Alone. Abandoned, by Marika. Marika had stumbled into the square, set Delaney down, and died, and Delaney had fallen heavily to her side. Passed out. Barely breathing. Adine had been so much like herself, and she had felt the need to help her. To care for her. So she had.

Adine was terrified of Delaney. She was a large wolf, with shining silver fur and thick muscles. She had volunteered, Adine had heard. And rumors had spread that she had gone crazy as a pup. Adine was horrified.

Jay sniffed the clump of bramble that climbed up a tree nearby. A tuft of white fur clung to it. Livadi's. He curled up his lip in disgust. He knew in the back of his mind that he had wanted to join the Career pack, but he didn't admit it. I'm doing fine on my own! He reasoned, noting his full stomach and lack of injury. He flicked his tail.

Suddenly, two wolves came into view. He perked his ears. What? What was this? He recognized Adine immediately. Matted blood on her shoulder and neck told him that she was injured. His gaze flicked to the pretty silver she-wolf that accompanied her. Adine was so small. . . and she was from his district. He didn't want to hurt her unless completely necessary. And this other she-wolf looked strong, powerful. He thought of the threatening flash in Livadi's eyes when he had refused the Career pack. He thought of how much safer he would be with alliances. His pride was squashed. He stepped out into the open with a deep breath. "Hi…"

Delaney whipped around. What? Who was this? She stared at his ragged dark grey coat and pale yellow eyes. She saw no menace in them, only fear. Dull, timid fear that had shoved the pride she had seen in his eyes before the game away. She bared her teeth.

"Jay!" Adine's eyes lit up. Her district partner! She would feel safer with him around. She bounded up to him, eyes bright. He wagged his tail slightly. He was relieved to see her, this pup, this reminder of home.

Delany eyed him warily. He smiled as Adine licked his cheeks. Delaney snorted indifferently and trotted away, motioning for them to follow. He would stay for a little while, but only to humor Adine. He would not be a part of her plan. She smiled. When she found Sylvia, her plan would begin, and nothing would be the same again.
