This chapter is smaller than I planned for it to be however I have been having trouble writing for long periods, so I decided to try to write many smaller chapters rather than one larger chapter. Anyway, tell me how you like the chapter, and where you think the story should go moving forward. I don't own Naruto in any way, shape, or form… Except for my characters and ideas… I think. I don't know all that much about ownership laws.
She was tired. The dam in her heart that blocked all the emotion away. The dam that she had built step by step growing up. The dam that has kept away the crushing weight of vulnerability and that has helped her stay alive for this long cracked. That little crack spread and eventually the whole dam broke. She had been crying for longer than she cared to remember, it didn't matter after all. At least not to her. The woman she had been clinging to did care.
Hiromi was never able to have children. She practiced a secret skill that the spiders explicitly made for the boss of their clan and a few clan elders that have proven themselves worthy. The technique is called 7 Refinement Soul Art and it functions by using nature energy to compress the chakra a person has, which allows them to have more chakra in their bodies that is also of higher quality. And while the technique is powerful and can even extend the user's life span, it also makes the user infertile. And, understanding that, Hiromi decided there and then that she would treat the child hanging on to her for dear life like her own.
Nakano was sleeping when Hiromi looked down at her. More emotionally exhausted than any child her age should ever have to be. Hiromi decided that there was simply not enough time to waste waiting for the kid to wake up and carried Nakano on her back. A small walk -which could have been over in seconds- took five minutes making sure that the five-year-old on her back stayed asleep.
'It might be better for her to be asleep for the next part anyway,' Hiromi thought walking into a brightly lit room. If anyone with any sort of information about fuinjutsu looked at the room, they would stare in awe. If any Fuinjutsu Master looked at the room, they would see purely theoretical concepts and many concepts that would make them beg to stay in the room for even just another minute. Seals covered every part of the room originating from the center of the room on the floor like a spider web. Placing Nakano over an oval slightly off-center from the center Hiromi thought, 'this is going to hurt after all.'
Hiromi walked over to the opposite side of the seal array to open a small, completely black box. Inside was a dark purple crystal with golden sparks that came out of it every few seconds. She placed the crystal directly in the center of the seal array, and as soon as she did the entire thing started to glow. Not 10 seconds later dark purple threads smaller than a hair started appearing from all over the seal array in mass. Soon thousands of small threads were wrapped around Nakano as more threads appeared and join the movement soon forming a black cocoon around the little girl. 'Now to wait. Her aptitude was already good before this, with it, she will come out perfect'
*Break*
It was not until a week later Nakano awoke in an unfamiliar space. She was in the largest bed in the largest room she had ever seen. She tried to get up only to feel different. Everything felt clear like she was walking through fog her entire life. Movements felt crisp, memory felt precise, thoughts fast. She got up to look at herself after a bit of adjusting to find herself taller. She was already tall for her age, but now she towered over people of her age grow.
A large uncomfortably expensive-looking standing mirror next to the equally expensive-looking desk showed her much more than before. If her hair was ink-black before now it is a rich midnight black. Her already beautiful face now looked like something from a fairy tale, and would no doubt be even more enchanting when she grew up. Her proportions were more perfect than any 5-year-olds has a right to be and the ridiculously soft black nightgown she was wearing changed all of that. Instead of looking like a very small model, instead, she looked like a perfect doll.
"All of the changes applied perfectly and there were no unexpected happenings" The same tantalizing voice she had come to associate with Hiromi came from the previously closed doorway. Nakano looked over to see Hiromi the same way she was already used to. "Now, come sit", Hiromi pats to her side sitting on the couch she decided to sit on. So, Nakano does, and she slightly leans towards the transformed spider. Not enough for either one of them to notice though.
"First let me start off by saying that you are still perfectly human, I have changed nothing regarding your human identity, and the changes I did make took perfectly without any complications" Hiromi explained, "Starting with your body. First, I increase the natural density of all your bones to the utmost limit, they are almost on par with low-grade chakra steel at this point. You might be wondering why you don't feel very heavy, and that is because I did the same to all the muscles in your body. I also made some general changes such as increased natural flexibility, better memory, and thinking capabilities, fixing all the minor flaws your body naturally has, as well as some other things that should help in the future. Second, your chakra coils. As you may or may not know chakra coils have different definable characteristics, including flexibility, density, quality, and tenketsu count. Now, flexibility defines the total amount of chakra a person can have, density defines the amount of chakra per amount of volume a person can have, quality defines all the imperfections a person has, and tenketsu count defines the total amount of volume a person has. Are you with me so far?"
Nakano only gives a nod eager to learn more.
"Okay. I increased the natural definitions of each aspect as much as possible while giving each aspect the unique ability to adapt in the future. Meaning each aspect will be as great or as small as you work in the future. Now as for your chakra I have fixed the small imbalance you had. That is why you cannot learn to use your chakra like a normal person in your realm. People in your realm do not sense the chakra itself, but rather the imbalance a person naturally has in their chakra. Moving on, there is your soul. Now as I said before I have changed nothing of who you are as a person, only making your soul larger, of higher quality, and able to adapt"'
Nakano released a little tension she had not realized was there, then thought. She realized how much this one person had done for her. Nakano was many things but greedy is not one of them – except when it comes to knowledge perhaps – so she decided to pay it back and make sure no one would ever attack the spider clan ever again. Nakano looked up at Hiromi with determination in her eyes and asked, "What do I need to do next?".
