"They took it to far this time." I said as I stepped out of mine and Eleanors room. Like Prince said, she overused her energy, and thus fainted. When we passed through the halls, Eleanor in my arms, we just said she passed out from shock. No one questioned us, so we went with it. Dawn was trying to connect with Surge and Wynter, to figure out why he was in this 'stress coma' and where Wynter was, exactly. "We've gotta think of a plan to power up and get our Warrior forms. Something tells me they aren't going to sit still until we all fall to Demons, and we need to be as strong as possible to defend this place."

"I swear," Dash cracked his knuckles dangerously. "I see one Hellion member, I'm beating him black and blue."

"Violence isn't the answer right now." Aqua chirped. "If we barge in unprepared, who knows what kind of Demon Glass they have? If they have a chance at controlling us now, then we know it won't be long before Wynter... Kylma comes in with an army of ice-types."

"(Well, training won't be a hard thing.)" Cala said sternly. "(We can simply use our other partners to quicken the process. The more you know, the more you grow.)"

"But what about Surge?" Dusk asked, running a hand through his hair, almost as if frustrated. "He's in a stress coma."

"(I could always use my Dream Reader ability.)" Eden piped up. "(It worked with Dawn. Maybe I could get her to connect with Surge and bring Storm with us at night. Then Storm and I can train him while he's asleep.)" he paused thoughtfully. "(If we plan this correctly, then we could probably have him prepared and Warrior-transforming ready by the time he wakes up.)"

"Guys," Dawn stepped out from the infirmary unit, and looked at us with forlorn eyes. "I know why Surge is in his coma." we stopped talking, and stared at the brunette.

"Well? What is it? Spit it out!" Flare demanded. Dawn looked down, almost with a forlorn look on her face.

"He loved Wynter. Very much."

"Well, yeah, that was kinda a given." I said. "It's not like the two tried to hide it."

"Sorta like how you try not to stare at Eleanor ever second of the day?" Dash snickered. I winced, my cheeks turning slightly red. I'm going to get him back for that later.

"In fact, they just found out about each other the day before the mission." Dawn continued. Aqua giggled behind her hand, as if she knew something we didn't. Dawn cocked her head to the side.

"Oh, it's nothing." Aqua said with a wave of her hand. "Continue, please~!"

"Anyways..." Dawn cleared her throat. "He feels like it's his fault that Wynter is gone. He's worrying so much, that her basically put himself to sleep."

"So what'll happen if he doesn't wake up?" Dusk asked.

"Well... under normal circumstances, it's life or death. He'll make a full recovery or he'll die from lack of nourishment. But, like everything is with us..."

"These aren't normal circumstances." nodded Forrest

"Right. If what Isaac says is true, the this Demon virus in us is basically eating our light away. We can decide if we want to stay good and fight it while we're awake, and the attacks only happen, on average, about once or twice every week or so. But since Surge isn't conscious, I think..." she swallowed, and looked down. "I think he won't be able to physically fight it like he usually can."

"So...?" I asked, fearing an answer.

"So if we don't find a way to wake him up, then the virus may very well eat him alive."

"Well, it's been a while since I was here..." I muttered as I walked through the darkness. "Okay, Devlin, I know that you're here. Just show up and let's get this over with." Nothing. Silence. I sighed. I swear, this guy is purposely messing with me. I sighed, and turned, seeing a light shift out of the corner of my eye.

I stepped forward, coming closer to the glowing light, and realized that it was actually two different lights. In the shape of people. I came forward, and realized that the two people I saw were two people I knew. Glowing, see through figures of Wynter and Devlin.

"Wynter!" I cried, looking at her shivering form on the ground. "Wynter, you need to come back with me, Surge is sick!" No response. "Wynter?"

"Two down, nine to go." a deep, gravelly voice echoed throughout the darkness. "Angel of Ice, Angel of Death, replaced by Demons."

"Angel of Death?" I wondered aloud as I turned towards Devlin. "Gabriel?"

"Correct, correct." whoever it was cackled. Suddenly, two large hands reached out and took hold of Wynter and, I guess, Gabriel. They made no move to fight, not even a scream. And I think that was more terrifying than anything else. Slowly, the large hands placed the two in one hand, and suddenly, two huge red slits for eyes appeared. Slowly, he cupped his other hand over the two Angels. I could almost see his evil smirk.

Suddenly he pressed his hand down, completely crushing the spirits like bugs.

"Two down," he smirked, opening his hands to reveal emptiness. "Nine to go." I screamed as the hands reached towards me, but grabbed something beside me.

"Forrest!" I yelled as his glowing figure, a piercing light in the dark, was crushed, exploding into millions of smaller lights.

"Three down, eight to go." chuckled the voice. I threw up my arms and screamed as I felt the dark hands wrap around me.

I bolted awake, gasping for breath, eyes wide. First thought to run through my head: What the FUCK was that? I ran a hand through my hair, trying to finger comb out the snarls and knots. I was crying. I was scared, no, not scared, terrified. For Wynter, for myself, for my friends, hell, I was freaking out over Gabriel/Devlin.

I glanced at the clock. 4:30. No... certainly I didn't use that much of my healing, did I?

Arceus, I'm so confused. What did this all mean? Certainly Wynter isn't gone forever? And Dev-Gabriel... Is he gone too? And what about Forrest? He couldn't be gone. He's here, with Flare, sleeping. Right? It just some crazy nightmare? I mean, hey, I'm sixteen, and under so much stress with this ranger job, plus the whole 'Angel-Destined-to-Save-the-World-From-Demons' thing...

But if it was just a normal nightmare... Why the heck was I sobbing uncontrollably?

"Eleanor?" I hiccuped, flinched, and turned towards Carters bed.

"Yeah?" I asked, yawning, trying to sound sleepy. I rubbed at my eyes, hoping to hide my tears. "What?" Carter smirked, and pushed himself up from the bed into a sitting position.

"You're a real crappy actor, you know that right?" he got up, walked across the room, and sat down on my bed. "Why are you crying?" I said nothing as i looked down at my hands. They were shaking, squeezing the sheets like my life depended on it. Tears dripped down, rolling off the backs of my hands, soaking into the blanket.

"I'm scared." I whispered. "I'm afraid that the light is gone from them. I'm terrified."

"What did you dream about?" he asked gently.

"I-I don't know. I was scared, and it was dark, and there was Wynter and Gabriel, and then something just crushed them."

"Wait, Gabriel, not Devlin?" he asked skeptically. I nodded.

"It was him, I knew it. I felt it. It was scarier than it sounds, I know, but..." he suddenly hugged me. It was sorta like a WTF moment. As rebellious as Carter was, he wasn't exactly a huggy type of person. Really, he seems to try to distance himself from others. Sorta like Dusk, only, not in a scary-super-obvious way. Kinda like he does it self consciously.

But he was hugging me!

"It's a horrible dream." he muttered. He pulled back. "I should know, I've had that same dream over and over again, right after Gabe disappeared."

"B-but Gabe is still here! He hasn't left us yet, I think we can still salvage him from Hell!" I said, clutching my fist in front of me.

"But how do you expect to save him if we're having trouble saving each other from ourselves?" Carter asked.

"Huh?"

"I know this might be hard to believe... but who do you think attacked Surge?"

"Wynter would never do that!" I cried out defensively.

"But wouldn't Kylma?" he countered. I bit my lip.

"Wynter is still Wynter. Regardless of whatever name she's going by now."

"But if she was a Demon, would she or would she not attack Surge?" he sighed, and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Eleanor, Gabe and I used to be best friends when I first met him. Literally like brothers, and nothing could tear us apart. You saw him and what he controls. I know it's going to be hard for Surge, for you, for all of us, but if we have to strike Kylma down to take down Devlin, then we have to be willing to do that."

"Please stop calling her 'Kylma'. Wynter is Wynter! And until I am given reason otherwise, I'm going to keep searching for a way to change her back." I twisted some of my hair around my finger, avoiding Carters gaze. "None of us would never be able to attack her, not even you. She's still Wynter in our minds, and if you say that we have to 'strike her down' then I think we might as well go and kill our families. I wouldn't be able to do it, Surge would have a breakdown, not even Dusk could attack."

"Hey, lovebird, open the damn door damnit!" Flare pounded on the door, and I opened it.

"Hey, Flare. What's with the early-morning wake up call?"

"Trouble, that's what." she was panting, and worry was written all over her features. "Forrest is gone!"

"Doesn't he take early-morning walks? And what about meditating? I've seen him up in that tree for days on end." Carter pointed out.

"I know! I practically flew to Chicole Village and back trying to find him."

"Did you ask Dawn?" I questioned. Flare looked down.

"She's a wreck. She was using Edens' Dream Reader to connect Eden, herself, and Storm with Surge. Dusk said that she flipped out, breaking the connection for no reason. She just broke down, saying something along the lines of 'He's gone, he's gone, he's gone.' And then kept saying the name 'Kage' repeatedly." Flare swallowed, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "I feel like an idiot! I don't understand what's going on, or where he is! I'm freaking out, and can't contact him!"

I glanced at Carter, who seemed to turn extremely pale. He knew what happened to Forrest, as did I. The peaceful pacifist of nature wasn't here anymore. Forrest, the Angel of Nature was gone.

"Three down, eight to go."

The word echoed in my head as everything came flooding at me at once. It wasn't a normal nightmare. It was a warning. Whatever was turning us into Demons, it targeted the weakest of us all, the one's most likely to fall to the Demon Blood. As much as I hate to admit it, Forrest isn't here anymore.

Kage has replaced him as the Demon of Nature.
