I had to admit, Forrest was a fighter. But there was a very large difference between him and I. He used the element of nature to try to attack me. He had power and force. Me, on the other hand, I had speed and agility.
"How long are you going to run?" Kage demanded as I leapt up onto a tree branch. The tree branch twisted to wrap itself around me, but I sped off to the left, back were I started, in front of Aqua.
"As long as it takes for me to form a plan to beat you!"
"Weren't you known for your rashness back in school, Dash?" Kage smirked. "As far as I'm concerned, Warrior Form or not, I'll still beat you down. You could never win!" I ground my teeth together, dodging left again. True, I'd earned the my Warrior form. I looked like a samurai, loose pants and shirt, a scarf wound around my waist. The color scheme was mostly light tan and brown. My hands were wrapped in bandages, and my wings had bronze armor over the marginal converts.
I jumped back as another root attempted to smash me.
"People change over time, Forrest." I countered. Kage smirked.
"Yes, people change. Look at how much different I am!" Kage said, thrusting his arms forward. Hundreds of roots burst from the ground, whipping and lashing at me. I winced. Suddenly, and arrow shot in front of my foot, and a wall of flames destroyed the roots. I scrambled back, no doubt going to have to get some treatment for first degree burns. Slowly, the flame wall died down, leaving a seared ground, roasted leaves, and burnt-to-a-crisp roots. Flare stood in the middle, Warrior Form activated, bow in hand, arrows at her hip.
"Forrest," she muttered, eyes shaded. "Guess you've finally done it, huh?"
"Eh?" Kage asked, not at all offended by the fact that Flare had called him by his actual name, 'Forrest'.
"One time... you told me you'd never make me cry." she said. I saw drips of water fall from her face and onto the seared ground below. She still didn't look up. "But this... it's tearing me apart, Forrest." slowly, she dropped her bow to the side, and unclipped her arrows from her hip, letting them fall next to her. "I'm not fighting you. I can't do it." More tears fell as she just kneeled down. "I could never bring myself to shoot a flaming arrow into your face. I can't do it, Forrest, I really can't do it!" her body shook with sobs. I turned my head away from her, and looked at Kage. Something unfamiliar shined in his eyes. Pity? No, not pity...
It was regret.
This was unusual, even if he was Forrest. He was so kind to everyone and everything... he didn't have a thing to regret. Slowly, his eyes changed from crimson red to green. Strangely, his fang disappeared, and his ears seemed to shrink.
"Flare..." he said gently and apologetically. Flare stopped moving. Just... froze. Slowly, she lifted her head up.
"Forrest?" she asked. Forrest/Kage looked like he wanted to say something more, but flinched, hand reaching to his face as his eyes began flickering between green and red. He grunted something, and disappeared in a flash of green light.

"Daddy?" Eleanor repeated. Slowly, she stepped forward, but moved back, knowing how deceiving a Demon can be. Ebony smirked.
"He's real, very, very real." Ebony said. "You'd do anything to have him back, right?" Slowly Eleanor nodded, to flabbergasted to speak.
"Prove it." I ordered. "Prove he's real."
"Your father, Eleanor," Ebony said, ignoring my order. "Supposedly died in an underwater mission saving his partner, Rand. Team Hellion snatched him up, just as he was on the brink of death. He owed his life to us, and we only asked for one little thing: The whereabouts of his second eldest child, Eleanor Moon." Eleanor nodded numbly, her eyes never wavering from the man in front of her. "But likewise, he was stubborn, and refused to say anything. So we put him into a Hypnosis induced coma, trying to access the location via dreams."
"He's been asleep for eleven years." Kylma piped up. "And Ebony can wake him up. You once told Wynter you'd give anything to have Henry meet him."
"A-Anything!" Eleanor exclaimed.
"Eleanor, this is stupid." I muttered, nudging her in the elbow. She ignored it.
"Yes, eleven very long years." Ebony said, backing her up. "With no sign of telling us anything. But now is the time for the dreamworld to end..." she turned towards him, outlined in a slight violet, hair lifting off her shoulders. "David Moon, holder of the Angel Gene," she paused, as if gathering power. "Awaken!"
There was a flash of blinding white, and a surge of power that nearly threw me into the wall. As the light faded, David Moon stood, looking around curiously, scratching his head.
"Now this is weird..." he said. "Since when did the Union look so disorderly? And wasn't I underwater when I lost consciousness...?" he glanced at Eleanor, and grinned. "Cynthia! Is that the new Ranger uniform I've been hearing about? It suites you! Love the goggles." he grinned, coming closer and slinging an arm around her shoulders. "And since when were you a ranger? Finally decided to follow in your old mans footsteps?" he playfully poked at her cheek. "How are your pokémon? Speaking of which, how did the Sinnoh League go? I'm sure you won, right?"
"Sir, uh, Mr. Moon..." I said, trying to get the shocked Eleanor out of this awkward situation.
"And who's this young man? Is he that Steven Stone I've heard you mention to Eleanor?"
"Um, Daddy," Eleanor said slowly. "I'm Eleanor. Cynthia is at home in Concona Village with Mom and Henry." He blinked, before tilting her head back and laughing.
"C'mon, now Cynthia, don't think you can fool me!" he smiled. "Eleanors' just a tiny tot! Only four years old!"
"It's true, sir." Ebony smirked. "You've been in a coma for eleven years. Many things have changed. Your eldest daughter, Cynthia, is now twenty, the successful champion of Sinnoh. Your son, Henry, is now ten. He'll be turning eleven soon. And your daughter, Eleanor, the one who inherited the Angel Gene," her smirk grew. "Is standing right next to you." Slowly, he blinked, and turned back to Eleanor, looking her in the eye.
"Silver eyes..." he trailed off. "Little Light?" Eleanor nodded, wrapping him in a hug.
"It's me, Daddy." she said.
"Ugh, how sickening." a new voice exclaimed. Devlin flew down between Ebony and Kylma, crossing his arms. "I just hate these sickly sweet reunions, I think I may even be getting a cavity."
"King!" Kylma exclaimed, bowing. Now that was sickening.
"Kylma, Ebony, you have done well." Devlin said. "I cannot say the same for Kage, however. He has been force teleported back to the base."
"Do you want to battle them? It's a three on one fight, four if you count the old man." Ebony said snidely.
"Old man?!" exclaimed David Moon. "For your information, I am exactly twenty-"
"Thirty, daddy, it's been ten years." Eleanor spoke up. David glanced at her.
"I'm thirty-nine?" he gulped. "I am old!" slowly, he sat down in the corner, rocking back and forth, dark clouds forming above his head as rain poured down atop him.
"The old man is in the emo corner." Devlin noted. "Eleanor!" he said, arms open wide as if he was welcoming her to a reunion or something.
"Uh..."
"So, I hear you say you'd do anything to have dear sweet Daddy back right?"
"..." Eleanor said nothing, not sure where Devlin was heading.
"So here's the deal, join Team Hellion, and the old man stays."
"I am not that old!" exclaimed Mr. Moon.
"Refuse the offer," Devlin smirked, completely ignoring Eleanors father. "And the old man dies."
"I said I'm not that-!" David Moon was cut off as he slammed into the wall. Eleanor screamed.
"Shut it, old man, King is trying to speak!" Dawn said, hand outstretched in his direction. He slammed into the wall again. Dusk made a running start, but Kylma moved her attention to him.
"You stay out of it!" Then Dusk went flying from a blast of cold air. He hit the wall, eyes wide gasping for breath as the wind got knocked out of him.
"Well, Eleanor?" Devlin asked. Eleanor said nothing, looking down. Devlin widened his eyes. "Seems she's having trouble deciding." he muttered. "Ebony," he pointed to me. "Cut off his oxygen."
"What?!" Eleanor exclaimed. I widened my eyes on my own. Could Dawn really do that...? Suddenly, I was clawing at my throat, realizing I couldn't breathe. I stumbled to the left, and landed into Eleanor. She fell to her knees, my head resting on her lap. I was still clawing at my throat."Carter!" she was yelling my name, but the world was getting dizzy. I couldn't breathe, I really couldn't breathe. "Stop it!" Eleanor screamed at them. The whole room paused in silence. I think I began to flop around like a Magikarp out of water. "L-let him breathe... Please." During my fish-out-of-water like convulsions, I noticed Dawn turned towards Devlin, who nodded. Suddenly, I was breathing again, taking in as much oxygen as my lungs could handle. Never again shall I take the element for granted.
"Make up your mind?" Devlin asked. I saw a tear run down her face, but she quickly swiped it away. Like the rest of us, we were not going to let the Demon King see us cry. She gently lifted my head off her lap, and laid me down on the floor. Slowly, and somewhat shakily, I noticed, she stood.
"I-I'll go with you." she said. "But leave our families out of this mess, Devlin! And leave the rangers and union and everyone else! No more hostage situations! You want to fight us, fight us head on!" Devlins lips turned into a smirk.
"But of course, if that is what you wish." he came forward, slinging his arm across her shoulder. He began leading her away, and I rolled onto my stomach, army crawling slowly after him.
"Hold... it... Devlin!" I mustered. Devlin stopped, turning his head to look over his shoulder. Slowly, he turned, Eleanor standing between Ebony and Kylma. He kneeled down, and I tilted my head up to look him in the eyes. He was taunting me, I knew, but that wasn't going to stop me from wanting to tear his eyes out. He leaned down further, crimson just mere inches away from gold.
"So long, little brother." he smirked, before turning, all four of them disappearing in darkness. There was a long silence.
"The medics! Someone call the medics!" Erma cried. "Prof. Hastings, what are going to-" she was cut off as she looked outside the huge hole, standing next to the usually jumpy professor. With a grunt and a groan, I forced myself to get up, and walked/hobbled over to the two adults.
"What... is it...?" I muttered, coming up next to them. They merely pointing into the sky. I looked up, and choked back my gasp.
The sky above us was blood red, the sun shone no more, instead replaced by a full moon, dark as shadows, casting an everlasting light over Almia. The trees seemed to wither up with every passing minute, and the grass already seemed to be going brown. Right in the middle? A huge, castle like temple that seemed to be made of shining onyx, flaunting its evil to the world below.
"Prof. Hastings!" cried Isaac, running up to us despite the ruble. "The weather... the sky..."
"We know." Prof. Hastings said grimly.
"It's not just Almia." Isaac said. "According to our monitors, it's spreading across Almia, and across the ocean! It's covering other regions!"
And history will repeat itself again...
The prophecy echoed in my mind and I mentally cursed. Dawn said she never was able to figure that part out. I think with all the commotion of becoming rangers and escaping Hellion over and over, it got pushed to the back of our minds. But... now I know the reasoning behind this. It wasn't prophesying us dying, at least, I don't think it was. No...
It was prophesying the end of the world.

I stared soundlessly at the castle above me. It angered me to no end, how the Demons flaunted that thing to us below. But I was desperate, and I need to go up there. Something had to power that thing, and my guess was that they were using us Angels gone bad.
I ground my teeth together at the thought of it, of Dawn turning so suddenly. It made me sick, like I wanted to strangle whoever was stupid enough to get in my way. I know Eleanor thinks that Devlin has a good side, just turned bad like the rest of us. But I also know what Devlin did to Eleanor, and what he was doing now. She and Carter called him Gabriel.. but Gabriel was gone forever. We had no chance to bring him back.
But I'll be damned if I have to watch Dawn remain as 'Ebony' any longer.
Warrior form activated, I lifted the scarf over my nose and mouth, hiding my face. Why, one might ask? Two reasons. One; my face must be in every Demon/Hellion members mind. Two; It makes it look like I was ready to kill, which, in a way, I was. I flew up to the castle, keeping close to the shadows as I watched a Demon guard go by. A couple Shadow Stars later, and I was walking over Demon ashes.
I snuck inside the castle, walking cautiously down the halls, rounding corners, taking out any Demon I could before they could get to me.
This is what Carter and Dash and Surge didn't understand. They believed that they had to barge in and make a big deal about attacking. You have to tread carefully on enemy ground. If you don't you become the enemy of your allies, and then you must fight them. Simple as that.
Rounded some more corners, killed more Demons, and stopped, hearing voices. Slowly, I morphed into the shadows, watching as scientists walked by. Somewhere in the back of my mind, it registered that they were the first humans I came across all... to tell the truth, with the way the sky has changed into everlasting night, I couldn't tell if it was morning, noon, or evening.
Regardless, they walked by, blabbing precious information that they really should be more careful with.
"I'm surprised big boss fired all those grunts." one said before smirking. "We scientists must be the best."
"Yeah, but doesn't this place make you even the tiniest bit uneasy. I mean, with all those Demons running by..."
"Did you see what they did to those cocky Demon brats? Gave them the antidote, turned them all back, even his son!" The son must be Gabriel. But what did they mean by 'turning them back'? And there was an antidote to Demons? Did they get turned back to Angels...?
Slowly, I stepped out of the shadows, making my presence known. The scientists gasped, and reached in their pockets. I slashed my hand through the air, and shadows engulfed their form from the nose down. They wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. They both took deep shaky breathes through their noses, fear showing through their eyes. I took a step forward, and the tried struggling, letting out muffled shouts. Slowly, I reached through the shadows of one man, grabbed him by the shirt, and pulled him close to my face.
"Listen here and listen well." I growled. "You kidnapped a person a hold very, very dear to me. She was turned over to the dark side against her will, and I'm not happy about it. But now I hear there's an antidote, and she's back to the way she was." I pulled out one of my stars, and held it close to his throat. "I can turn this thing into a deadly weapon, and kill you two very slowly and very painfully." The other ones muffled shouts and struggles became more desperate, where as the one I had my grip on remained frozen in fear. I glared at the other one. He shut up and stood still immediately. "And I will kill you, very slowly and very painfully," I continued, returning my gaze to the man in front of me. "Unless you tell me everything you know and were the Angels are." he frantically nodded, and I backed up, letting the shadows fall from his mouth.
"I-I..." he was taking deep breaths. I threw the star past his head, just above his ear. A few strands of hair fell, and he stood wide-eyed, not daring to scream.
"I missed on purpose." I said. "That was a reminder not to scream for help, because I will shut you up immediately, and not with the shadows, mind you." I crossed my arms, flicking my right wrist. Three more stars appeared between my fingers. "Now talk."
