"How long has she been going at it?" Aqua asked me while she watched Tori. The redhead stood completely still, a long white staff in her hands, a pink orb shining at the top. Her eyes closed and red hair fluttering above her head as she seemed to absorb moonlight from above her.

"A couple hours now." I replied. "It nearly took her an hour and a half just to heal you up. It's not as fast as Eleanor, but..."

"It'll do for now." Aqua looked forward. "I have trouble understanding it, really."

"What?" I asked. "Tori appearing out of nowhere, and is suddenly an Angel?" I didn't wait for her answer. "Well, we've got Demon plague spreading across the world." I shrugged. "With us dropping like flies, it makes sense that we need some extra help."

"You know that's not what I'm talking about, Carter." Aqua said seriously. Her seriousness caught me off guard for a moment. "I didn't have to deal with loosing Dash to the Demon Blood. Now that we have the antidote in us, I never will have too." she paused, and looked at me. "But you've lost Eleanor, Flare lost Forrest, and both Dusk and Surge lost their girlfriends." she tilted her head back, looking up at the ceiling.

"Wha-What are you implying?!" I exclaimed after she didn't say anything.

"I know I shouldn't be one to talk, but you guys wear your hearts on your sleeves when it comes to them and vice-versa. I can tell." she paused. "We'll get them back, Carter. But as of now, we've got to get you powered up and ready to go for this fight. It may very well be the very last one, you know."

"I know." I said, looking down grimly. I looked up at Tori again. "How do you think she'll handle it?"

"Which part? The Demons or the fighting?"

"Gabriel."

"...I'm not sure how to answer that." Aqua answered grimly. "Obviously the Demons are still under control, but if Surges dream was accurate, then he's a statue like everyone else."

"Then who could be controlling them?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer.

"The Bossman." Aqua said, confirming my prediction. "I'm guessing he sealed a contract with Devlin, and stabbed him in the back at the end of it. The question now is," she looked at me. "How do we break the contract?"

"Usually only the human has to break it first." I said. "But now that Devlin is Gabriel again, I wonder if somehow the boss plans to steal his power while he's defenseless and confused." I looked down. "I'm slightly nervous though, how Tori will react if we have to kill him."

"Kill...?"

"If we can't get the boss to forgo the contract, then we'll either have to kill him or Gabriel." I looked over at her. "And if the Demons are under his control now, then that means we can't hit him without an army of Demons on our tail. So the only other option..."

"Is to kill Gabriel." Aqua said grimly.

"I just hope she can handle it." I said. "I don't think its much of secret that Tori has a mega crush on my brother."

"I hope we don't have to kill him." Aqua said, before whispering the last part. "For her sake and for your own."

My name is Eleanor Moon, and I'm here to become a ranger!

Punch.

I pledge that we all become the best that we can be! The next top rangers of our generation!

Kick.

I know I screwed up. I also know I lied when I said I knew my way around. I don't. I always went on instinct, and right now, instinct it telling me to keep going.

Slam! Thud!

Since this may be our last day with each other, I might as well tell you why my dad is such a touchy subject.

I'm sorry.

I'm afraid the light might be gone from them. We've been going dark so much lately... I think it may be leaving me too.

No Eleanor, no. You shined brighter than all of us. Your light will never leave.

Carter! Carter!

Stop screaming. Stop crying, Eleanor, I hate it when you're sad.

Stop it! Stop! Let him breathe, let him breathe!

I'm not worth saving, save yourself.

I-I'll go with you.

No! No, no, no, NO!

I sent the punching bag flying. Stupid Team Hellion. I let out a roar of frustration, and kicked the wall. I will admit, that one hurt a little, but turned, and punched something else. The punch stopped midair, and I saw Cala in her human form standing over me.

"You know, I thought we were making progress on controlling your anger." she said, my fist in her hand. She squeezed, and bent it back. A cracking noise came from the bones, and I hissed in pain, taking my hand back and shaking it, as if that would get rid of the pain. Thankfully she didn't break it. "Seems I though wrong."

"Fuck off." I growled, sitting down. She raised an eyebrow at my language, but said nothing. "Why are you even in your human form anyways?"

"Since eternal night was cast over the land, our transformations have come on at will." Cala explained. She crossed her arms.

"How much longer?" I asked.

"Victoria is nearly done healing Dash." Cala said. "Surge is doing last minute training with Storm."

"I meant about me." I said. Cala refused to meet my gaze for a moment.

"As far as I know," the older woman looked at me, seriousness all over my partners features. "You're no closer to Warrior form."

"How the hell is it possible? How could Tori," I turned, and punched another punching bag. "Earn hers before me? Why am I last?"

"I can't say I ever encountered a problem like this." Cala responded. "Perhaps the Angel Gene didn't react the same way? Remember, you are descendants of the Angels. The gene was reactivated in you. Victoria, the Angel of Fairies, was just recently blessed. It's only natural that her Warrior form came on with the blessing."

"Thanks, I feel so much better now." I growled out. Then Cala did something that really surprised me. She reached down, and ruffled my hair.

"Hey-!" I exclaimed. She kneeled down, hands moving to my shoulders. Looking me straight in the eye, she smiled a comforting smile. Almost like my mothers smile before she died.

"You know, Carter, you may not have been one of the most well-behaved Angels I've trained," she said, gaze never wavering. "But you can be sure that you're one of my best students. And even if you don't earn your Warrior form, I'm proud to say that you were my student, and I your teacher." she stood up. "Don't you ever forget that, Carter."

Slowly she turned, walking towards the door. Without looking back at me, she continued.

"Carter, are you ready to go into battle, even though you aren't as strong as the others?"

"You know I am!" I exclaimed, clenching my fist determinedly. I think I saw a hint of a smile, but it may have been a trick of the light, for as soon as it was there, it was gone.

"Then prepare yourself, we'll be going into battle soon."

I stared at the tower, and turned to Surge. His warrior form was pretty cool, really. Consisting of grays like a storm cloud, he wore a zip up vest jacket with gray pants. A yellow scarf wound around his waist, which I guess acted as a carrying device for his daggers, and surprisingly cool-looking yellow army boots were on his feet. He wore gary elbow pads and yellow fingerless gloves, and, as if just to complete the look of badassery, he wore some slick-ass sunglasses. His wings, like Dash, didn't seem to have any sort of protector on them.

"You guys know the plan?" I asked.

"Right!" they all exclaimed. I looked at the rest of us, Dash, Aqua, Surge, Flare, and our newest edition, Tori. All strong enough to fight.

Basically, the plan was this, half of us create a distraction, the other half go flying in to get the others out. Flare, Dash, and Aqua would be doing the distracting. Surge would lead the way to the lab, since he claimed to be feeling the Empathy link with Wynter. Tori would go with him since the Demons have no idea about her, and we could use her as a surprise attack. Me? I'm with Surge and Tori. I'm saving Eleanor and my brother. If I've made it this far without a Warrior form, I could keep it up.

Our partners, all twelve of them, would be going to towns in Almia to protect them. The Demons were ravishing them like crazy, and normal rangers weren't enough to protect them.

"Ready guys?" They nodded. Flare turned, looked at Dash and Aqua on her side, and grinned.

"Whoever takes out the most Demons has the right to dare one of the loosers. And he or she has to follow through exactly, no ifs, ands, or buts." Flare declared.

"Alright~!" sang Aqua.

"I love a good challenge Flare, you know that." Dash smirked. "Ready?"

"Set..." Aqua continued.

"CHAAAAAARGE!"

Tori P.O.V

Flashes of fire and spouts of water erupted from the ground below while Surge, Carter, and myself snuck into this crazy castle.

I always known that there was something wacky about this group. And not with the crazy eye colors and differing personalities. Something just said 'special'. I would never admit that to them, of course. And I have to say, being this 'Angel of Fairies' is pretty cool. Being able to fly and use these powers... I never would've thought that being a freak was so much fun.

...

Sometimes I wonder what would've happened to me if Gabriel hadn't come to help me. I'd probably be dead, no doubt. I've heard from Bre-Bre... and she said that he was Devlin, the purest for of evil. But how could something so kind and beautiful be such an evil being. I refused to believe it. And whenever Carter and the others referred to him as Devlin, my stomach twisted and my heart clenched, followed by the huge urge to defend him. Maybe it was because I saw the real him.

Maybe it was because I loved him. Totally cliché, I know, the girl falling for her hero... but I somehow feel a strong connection to him that I really can't describe. He was gentle... yet I could see the fighting spirit of a Warrior inside him. And I knew that Gabriel was simply drowning in his own darkness. He saved me that one time, and this time I would save him. I at least owe him that.

"This is it." Surge muttered to himself. I gulped, and looked at him and Carter. Surge was gripping his daggers, staring at the door while Carter had his hand wrapped firmly around the hilt of his sword. My hands shook around my staff.

"If you want," Carter looked at me. "You can leave, Tori. You fought well, and helped us a lot. We can take it from here."

I blinked in surprise at him. My hands clenched my staff tighter, forcing the horrid shaking to stop.

"I-" I swallowed, and restarted. "I'm done being afraid. I was given the title the 'Angel of Fairies' for a reason. I'm done being weak and defenseless. I'll fight, got it? I'll fight to save them." To save Gabriel. Carter looked at me for a long time before smirking, almost as if this gesture was that of approval.

"You've changed a lot over time, haven't you, Tori?"

"I guess being locked in a cage and growing wings as well as having a dream and being blessed by the great Arceus does that to you." I smirked confidently. I walked over to the door. Darkness awaited me inside. I could see some different colors of glowing lights on the floor, like veins flowing the power. I stepped inside, Carter and Surge at my side.

"Where's the light switch?" asked Surge. "You'd think they'd place a conveniently placed lever that said 'Press for Lights'. And right next to it, a bright red button with a sign that said 'Don't-" he was cut off suddenly. Yellow suddenly joined the veins of colors.

"Press, Surge." Carter chuckled to my left. "If you plan on cracking a joke, at least finish-" Another abrupt silence. I gulped.

"Carter? Surge?"

No response. I let out a shaky breath, and slammed my staff down onto the floor.

"Dazzling Gleam!" I exclaimed as I shut my eyes, knowing a burst of bright pink light would light the surrounding area for me. Although I really didn't want to, I opened my eyes, and choked back a gasp. All of them... all eleven angels... frozen in stone under glass domes, items in slots, colors flowing from the items to a glass dome in the middle.

Eleanor had her arms pressed against the glass, cold determination set on her face. Carter was slumped, unconscious, as was Surge. Was that why they were cut off so abruptly? Aqua had her hands over her face, as if in the middle of sobbing. Dash had turned in the direction of Aqua, concern on his face. Flare had her hands posed and ready to attack, whereas Dawn and Dusk where reaching towards each other, yet not touching. Forrest was curled forward, hands over his ears, as if her couldn't bare to hear whatever he was hearing. Wynter almost looked to be screaming...

And there he was. Gabriel, Angel of Death, staring coldly at whoever did this to him, one hand in a fist against the glass, as if he planned on punching his way out of the prison. The other was pressed against it, much like Eleanors'. Slowly, I raised my hand up and lined it up with his, the only thing separating us was the glass.

"Seems something new was added to the formula." I froze at the voice. "A new Angel?" it continued. Slowly, I turned, eyes falling upon a man dressed sharply in a suite and tie, deep brown hair, loosely framing his face. His eyes, however, were golden. It frightened me how much this man looked like Carter. "How will this effect the equation?"

Slowly, he walked forward, and I stepped back, my wings backing into the glass dome Gabriel was in. He stopped once he reached the platform, and brought out a remote control. With a cruel smirk, he pressed the button. The lights flowing from the eleven angels seemed to glow brighter, and the stone freezing them suddenly burst.

Then they were screaming. Screaming in pain and agony. Much like how Forrest was originally frozen they held their hands over their ears, clutching their heads. The only one not screaming was Gabriel, who I turned to face.

"Gabriel!" I exclaimed as his face contorted into utter agony.

"Tor... Tori..." he managed, a small look of relief crossing his features, a smile gracing his lips. Slowly, he slumped forward.

"Gabriel!" I was screaming now, a high, shrill sound. "Gabriel! Gabriel!"

"GABRIEL!" the man mocked me, although his voice seemed to sound like many at once. I whirled around to look at him, only to see an utter monster. He had grown, that was for sure, like, twenty feet tall, crouched over to keep from hitting the ceiling. One arm seemed to made of liquid magma, while the other was made of water. His chest was made up of vines and plants, while his right hand seemed to have some sort of psychic energy and his left with shadows surrounding it. One leg crackled with electricity while the other was built out of ice. Large bat wings sprouted from his back, while horns grew from his now longer brown hair. One eye glowed silver, and the other glowed gold. His face... I couldn't bring myself to say it was remotely close to being human anymore.

Yes... he was truly a monster.

"WELCOME, ANGEL OF FAIRIES." his voice boomed. "ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. I AM ABBADON, FATHER OF THE ANGEL OF DEATH AND CHANGE," Gabriel and Carter? "THE TRUE KING OF DEMONS." suddenly, the roof above us burst, the glass domes around the eleven angels breaking. Gabriel slumped forward, whereas the others seemed just a bit drained. At least they were standing, staring in absolute horror at the monstrosity in front of us, proving I wasn't hallucinating. He stood to his full height, taller than any building I've ever seen, and smirked.

"WELCOME TO THE BEGINNING OF THE END!"
