"DAD!" Carter screamed, horrified that the being in front of him was his dad. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"

A low chuckled escaped the monsters lips, and he raised his hand, as if he planned to crush us.

"Protect!" exclaimed Dawn in Angelic, Warrior Form activated, hand outstretched while she and her book glowed. A purple sphere appeared around us.

"This is good. We can still fight." Dusk said. "Dawn keep buying us time!" I saw a hint of a smirk on her lips, and the force field increased in power.

"What did he do?!" exclaimed Tori.

"H-He became the monster." Gabriel croaked out as he stood up, only to fall over into Tori. A quick explanation was given as of why she was here, but no one, not even myself, seemed phased by the fact that the girl was now an Angel and is helping us. "How do you think the original Demon King beat down all the Angels so quickly?"

"B-But your the Demon King, right? That's your title!" Tori said. "Can't you control him?" Gabriel shook his head.

"Demon King... That was Devlins title. My name is Gabriel." Gabriel said. "I'm the Angel of Death." he paused, and took a deep breath. "I'm dying." he said abruptly. We all snapped our heads at this. Gabriel winced, and curled forward, as if this would hide the pain.

"Ga-Gabr-Gabriel?" Tori stuttered out. Slowly, Gabriel brought himself up, and kissed the new Angel lightly on the lips. Tori stared in shock at this as he backed away. He rose himself up again, standing at his full height, a good head or two above the rest of us. As if these small actions were just one small act of defiance that he would never dare commit, his first bit of freedom that he's had in possibly years.

Then, the Angel of Death was still. Then he just collapsed forward. Three simple moments. That was all it took. Three moments for his body to fall. Three moments for the rest of us to know. Tori was crying. She had every right to.

I felt something wet run down my face, and I realized they were my own tears. We all felt him die, felt the link between us disappear. I walked towards Tori, and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, fierce determination all over my features.

"We'll avenge him, Tori. Him and every other person who died at that bastards hands." I said. Tori continued to cry. I turned towards the rest of my friends, the friends that I've kept close to me since the very beginning of this. I looked at Abbadon, who had made his way down to the ground below. Since he couldn't break through Dawns shield, he decided it was time to turn Almia into a dead world like the original had destroyed everything the first time. "You ready, everyone?" I asked.

I was answered by flashes of light of varying colors, everyone in Warrior form but Carter. Guess he didn't earn it yet. Tori stood up, one hand clenched around her staff, the other in a shaking fist at her side, her eyes shaded. I looked at her as she stepped forward.

"I'm going to kill that son of bitch." she growled under her breath, angry determination flaring in her now pink eyes. "He became that thing because he stole your powers right?"

"That's the gist of it, I suppose." Dusk said.

"So he'll be able to counterattack you. But one thing he left out of his stupid plans," she turned to look at us. "Was me."

"You'll probably be the most effective against him since he has no way to counterattack." Surge said thoughtfully.

"Then lets do this." I said. "For good 'ole Gabe."

"For Gabriel!"

"Hey, Daddy-o!"

I watched as Abbadon turned towards the exact copy of Gabriel, minus gold eyes, of course. Yup, good 'ole Carter was using his powers to our advantage.

"DEVLIN." Abbadon said, raising an eyebrow. "YOU'RE DEAD."

"Don't underestimate me." smirked Carter/Gabriel. I guess Abbadon suspected something, because he turned, stomped towards him, and leaned down real close to him.

"CARTER." he said. Carter smirked.

"Yup." And then he stabbed him right between the eyes. Abbadon screamed, and slammed his fist down. Carter dodged to the side and became a gold-eyed Sentret, scurrying up his arm until he was on his head. It was humorous, seeing him trying to hit Carter, only managing to smack himself.

"Alright team, lets go!" I said, waving them into battle. We flew into the air, landing attacks on Abbadon. I glanced out of the corner of my eye.

"Wynter!" I shouted. "Kids to your right!" Abbadon turned towards them, and smirked.

"Back off!" Wynter cried, sending a round of ice shards towards his abdomen, slicing some of the vines. She glared, and slammed the staff into the ground. Suddenly, ice seemed to surround her feet and wind whipped her hair around. Suddenly, huge crystals of ice burst from the ground, freezing Abbadon in place. A few seconds after that, a huge blizzard attack hit. He hissed, and smacked Wynter out of the way like a fly.

"Run for your lives, and don't stop until you get to the Union." Flare said to the group of kids. "Dawn, cover for them!" the other girl nodded, and glowed a faint purple before a force field appeared around them.

"PESKY BEINGS." Abbadon roared, the ice holding him cracking before it burst. "THIS EARTH IS MINE."

"No way in the fiery pits of fucking HELL!" screamed Flare. Her hair fluttered around for a bit, and then she was literally engulfed in flames. Her arrows formed around her in a perfect circle, and then were launched at Abbadon. He growled, and took a swipe at her.

Forrest managed to push the still flaming girl out of the way, and with a shrill note, he played a song in which roots exploded from the ground, tying Abbadons hands in place. Another shrill note, and more wrapped around his other arm, neck, and torso. Dusk took this opportunity for a close range attack while Tori let out a moonblast attack.

"YOU CANNOT DEFEAT ME!" roared Abbadon, pulling at the vines. "I AM THE TRUE KING OF DEMONS. I CAN BEND THE ELEMENTS AT WILL. I-"

"Am really tired of listening to your voice." a cool voice said from behind Abbadon. "Black Wings! Attack!"

Suddenly a ton of Angels burst forward, their wings black instead of white, though. In fact, they had the look of Demons, in a way, just without crimson eyes. Fangs and pointed ears though? Still evident.

"Gabriel!" Tori screamed in relief. And it was true. The supposedly dead Angel of Death stood in front of them, smirking confidently.

"You were dead!" exclaimed Carter. Gabriel waved his hand.

"A temporary setback. Some of my followers," he gestured to the black winged angels. "Decided to convert to good when I did. They saved me and restored my soul to my body before I crossed over. True, not the purest of beings," he stuck his hands in his pockets. "But still angels. Behold, the Black Wings."

"I thought you were dead!" Tori exclaimed, practically tackling the boy as the last word broke off in a sob. Gabriel smiled gently, and ran a hand through her hair to comfort her.

"Listen, lovebirds, lets get this mushy-gushy stuff in after we win!" Flare exclaimed. Tori looked up from Gabriels' torn up shirt for a moment, and nodded.

"You're right, Flare." Tori said. Flare blinked in surprise, but nodded.

"Guys, we've got a problem!" Surge yelled frantically, carrying Wynter over bridal style. She was beat up something bad. "She's not responding! I did CPR and everything!"

"Quick, set her down!" I exclaimed. "Gabriel, is she...?"

"No." he said abruptly. "Not yet." I nodded, and placed my hands over her, letting my magic heal her. Cuts and bruises healed, but she still didn't wake up.

"Why isn't she waking up?!" exclaimed Surge in a panic.

"She's not dead, just unconscious." Gabriel said. "She did let off a pretty sturdy blizzard attack earlier. I'm surprised he's still standing."

"THAT'S IT!" roared Abbadon as he ripped himself free of the roots. He smacked the Black Wings away, closing in on us. I stood up, ready to defend them.

"Surge, get Wynter somewhere safe." I said.

"But-"

"No buts! Get her out until she replenishes energy!" I ordered. Surge seemed conflicted for a moment, before he looked up at the sky, seeing angry storm clouds rumbling above us.

"Carter, watch her for a minute." Surge said, shoving Wynter into his arms. "Everyone, back up and watch the fireworks show!"

He brought out his daggers, both which began to crackle with electricity. Like a lightening rod, the lightening from above crashed into the two sparking daggers. Then he stabbed the daggers into the ground. The earth literally split as electricity made a pathway to Abbadon. He roared in pain as the electricity crackled up his legs. Surge ground his teeth together, and more electricity pulsed from him to the monster in front of us. Suddenly, the ice that encased his leg burst, leaving bare skin. Ice blue aura flowed from what was once a part of him, and slammed back into Wynter.

The ice Angel immediately opened her eyes afterwards. She blinked, shook her head, and stood on her own two feet while Abbadon roared with anger and pain.

"Surge!" I exclaimed while he took some deep breaths.

"How ya feeling, Wynter?" he asked. She blinked, and the electric storm above us suddenly turned to a snowstorm.

"Powerful." she answered.

"I guess I gave Wynter back her mojo, huh?" Surge mumbled to himself as he stumbled forward. He shook his head, as if trying to clear the fuzziness, and then stood up again. "That drained me a little, but we have a bare spot to attack."

"What if we broke down the leg with the electricity?" Aqua piped up. "That should heal you up so we could use your powers again."

While they discussed how to attack, I looked up at Abbadons face, the golden eye, in fact. He was still in pain, unmoving, trying to get over the sudden loss of power. If I timed this just right... and if my guess is right...

"Eleanor!" I didn't even listen as Carter yelled my name. I flew forward on a burst of speed, putting my own plan into action.

"ELEANOR!" I exclaimed louder. Wether or not she was listening and ignoring me or couldn't hear me over the sounds of fighting and destruction, I wasn't sure. She was flying straight towards his face, arm outstretched with a sword in hand.

"What is she trying to do?!" exclaimed Dawn. Gabriel widened his eyes, as if he noticed something that the rest of us didn't.

"Black Wings, distract him!" he ordered. The dark winged angels nodded, got up, and shot at Abbadon with guns and weapons from who knows where. "You guys, aim for his other leg, we've got to keep his attention on us, and away from Eleanor."

"If you wanted a distraction, why didn't you ask?" exclaimed Flare, loading her bow with an arrow. She fired it into his other leg, and surprisingly, his entire leg burst into flames the minute the arrow came into contact. He howled in pain, the gun-armed Black Wings not helping his situation. I kept my eyes trained on Eleanor. She was getting closer... closer...

Just as Abbadon opened his eyes from the last attack courtesy of us, Eleanor swooped in, and stabbed her sword right into his eye. The gold one. The one that held my energy. There was a flash of light, and for a moment, I saw nothing but brightness. Then a surge of power went through me, and I blinked.

I looked down, surprised that my Warrior form hadn't changed me much at all. My same old Ranger Uniform, except for gold and white instead of blue and red. On top of the little change in my uniform, I was glowing bright gold, and it wasn't fading away like the others usually did.

"Hey, Light Bulb, help us out here!" exclaimed Surge, running past me. I blinked. Since when was he up and running like that. I looked down at Abbadons second leg. Well, it wasn't crackling with electricity anymore... Surge and I are back in full swing!

"I'm going up to help Eleanor!" I shouted to him. "Aim for his torso, that'll release Dash and Forrest!"

"Got it!" Surge yelled back to me. He turned to the rest of the team. "You heard 'im. CHARGE!" with shouts and war cries, ten Angels surged forward with the Black Wings. I was up in the air with full intention of reaching Eleanor.

By the time I was up there, Eleanor had wrenched her sword free. It was dripping with a substance that I would not describe, for surely it would make me puke. The smell was enough. She grinned at me.

"Nice Warrior outfit." she said like we were discussing this over lunch.

"You're insane." I threw back.

"Well, you're welcome." she said.

"Surge is back in full swing." I said. I watched as Abbadons lost its brown glow. "Dash too." It was like a chain reaction. The minute Abbadon lost his speed, he lost powers one by one. Aqua, Dusk, Forrest, then Flare and Dawn. It took one shot for him to loose Gabriels powers to, leaving nothing but a defenseless giant.

"WRETCHED ANGELS!" Abbadon roared as he lost his power surges. It all happened so fast that I didn't have time to register what was happening. Suddenly, I felt like I was being crushed, and then I was falling. I tried to flap my wings, tried to urge myself to fly, but only got another surge of pain. I managed to glance at Eleanor. Through her pain, she smiled, and shot an orb of silver at me. Suddenly, I was flooded with warmth, the pain completely disappearing.

I didn't even feel myself fit the ground.

"WRETCHED ANGELS!" I heard Abbadon roar. I turned my head up from overseeing my Black Winged army just in time to see the man that was, much to my dismay, my father crush my brother and his love interest in his hands, much like someone would clap. I think I may have screamed, for the others turned in my direction, only to see their friends falling.

Dash sped out and managed to grab Carter by the arms, but Eleanor wasn't so lucky. She hit the ground with a sickening thud. Flare and Forrest were by her side in and instant, flying her out of the way as Abbadon began to shrink and fall. Soon, he was back to his normal size, just a normal man in torn clothing. Dusk and Surge grabbed him before he could get away.

"We've got to move to safer ground!" exclaimed Dash. "We can't treat them here."

"Altru Tower!" I exclaimed. It was the first building that popped into my head and was surprisingly close, since it didn't take a lot for giant Abbadon to move far.

"He's breathing!" Dash exclaimed. "Carter's breathing."

"What about Eleanor?" Wynter asked. Flare looked at Forrest. He ground his teeth together, eyes shaded. Slowly, tears dripped down his face. Nothing had to be said. A long silence. I think it took a few moments for it to sink in for everyone that she really was gone. I knew. I just couldn't bring myself to confirm it.

Tori had brought her staff up. The magenta orb at the top glowed for a moment, light hovering over Eleanor. I grabbed her wrist, cutting off her concentration. She turned her head to me, and I just shook my head. That was it. Eleanor, Angel of Healing, didn't survive the battle. She didn't have any followers to revive her. Her soul was to far gone for me grab and bring back. None of us could do anything.

There was a groan, and I noticed Carter was coming to. How he was able to move, I don't know, but he was up and at the blond Angels side. He stood there, breathing heavily. I'm sure he realized it too, but was to afraid to admit it.

"Why isn't she waking up?" he asked. No one answered. No one could say it. But it was written on our faces. "No!" he exclaimed determinedly. "No, no, no!"

"Carter... She couldn't... she didn't..." Aqua said, her voice shaking and cracking, tears already pooling over.

"No!" Carter snarled. "She isn't! She can't be!"

"She is!" Abbadon said, struggling in Dusks and Surges grasps. He let out a sick, twisted laugh. "She is! She's dead! I killed her!" he tiled his head back, and laughed again.

"Shut up, you horrible man!" screamed Wynter. This surprised us, considering how soft spoken she was, but it's not like I could blame her. She just lost her best friend. Abbadon just wouldn't listen, though. He laughed again.

"I won! Look around you, stupid Angels! I may have been captured, but I achieved the one thing that I always wanted to do! I broke that sorry excuse for a son down to pieces! I ravished and destroyed Almia! I killed an Angel! Don't you see? I am the victor. I won!"

I snapped my head at Carter. Everything that was around him... all the noises fell on deaf ears. He was staring at Eleanors lifeless form, and I think it finally hit that she was dead. And it tore him apart. Anger blazed in my being, and I turned towards Abbadon. Dusk and Surge dropped him immediately, which was understandable. If only looks could kill...

"Shut the hell up before I steal your soul and shove into hell where it belongs!" I growled at him. I know it wasn't very angelic... but after everything he did, I was about to do so. With one last sick, horrid chuckle, he looked at me.

"If you have any messages for your former followers, Devlin, tell me now." he smirked, knowing how much I hated that name. "I'll be seeing them soon." then he slumped forward. He was dead. And he deserved to die.

The heavy silence was broken with shaky sobs. I turned towards Carter and saw him picking up Eleanors body into a hug, curling himself around her, sobbing, tears staining his face.

And for the first time since I was a child, I was crying too.

Memories.

Tons of them, hundreds of them. They flooded my mind all at once, from the first moment I met Eleanor to the few mere moments I saw her fall to her death. She should've survived. She was full of energy. But she healed me...

She sacrificed herself for me.

I couldn't move, everything felt numb, like I stood in the cold for to long. I couldn't tear my eyes away from her, taking in everything, every scratch, bruise, burn. How her wing was bent in a funny direction. How there was severe bruising forming on her left arm. That bone might be sprained. But it would never heal. She... She was gone.

I choked back a sob, tried to keep the toughness up. It didn't work. I just broke, like a piece of glass falling on pavement. Tears were cascading down my cheeks as I brought Eleanor into my arms, hugging her, protecting her from the worlds around us. Eleanor was gone. He took her. Killed her. Murdered her. Just like he did to my mom. He took my mom, he took Gabriel for years, and he finally took the one last thing that made me smile. He took Eleanor. Abbadon stole my hope.

I heard more crying, and knew everyone around me, all the Angels, they were crying too. Eleanor touched us all in some way, and basically was the one who made us friends. She held us together. She accepted us, she forgave and forgot the bad parts, the downs. She always remembered the good that kept us all going, even when we went dark, she knew we would make it through.

She just didn't know that she wouldn't make it herself.

"Wha...? Carter?!" I blinked in surprise as I felt warmth against my chest, and pulled back slightly. Eleanor stared back up at me, big, confused silver eyes. "Wha-Wha-Whatcha doing?" she stuttered out, growing redder and redder with each passing minute. I stared blankly at her for a minute before I tilted my head back and laughed.

"Eleanor! You're alive! And breathing!" exclaimed Flare as she tackled her into a bear hug. The action was followed by the rest of the gang, much against the girls protests of confusion. Finally, she was free from them, and without caring that we had an audience, without caring about anything for the matter, I kissed the Angel of Healing.

She was surprised, I could tell, but it didn't take long for her to return the actions. Suddenly, I felt a rush of energy leave me, yet I didn't feel weak. No, I felt empowered.

"Wow! So pretty~!" exclaimed Aqua as we broke apart. I looked around, and saw the crystal behinds us shining brilliantly, casting a rainbow of light over us. It was then I realized we were glowing too. As I looked over the edge of the building, I grinned.

"Yo! We've got the earth healing peoples!" I exclaimed as the sky became a breathtaking shade of blue and the sun shone brilliantly overhead. Grass became green again and trees stopped burning. Like how laughter was contagious, so was this. It spread across the land, faster and faster with each moment.

In the distance, I could see civilians gathering down below, along with news crews, cameras angled towards us and our wings. Shouts and cheers of joy rang out as the Go Rock Squad began to play in the square.

We all looked at each other and smiled. Finally, this nightmare, our nightmare, finally, it was all over. Angels have reigned victorious.
