I got up around 4:00 to take over watch for Glenn so he could get some sleep before having to drive later on. I kept watch until just after dawn which was about 7:00 at least that is what my watch told me. I saw Daryl head off into the small wooden area behind where we were parked on the side of the highway. I killed three walkers that were straggling along. Daryl came out of the woods with like 10 squirrels that were fat and plump. I smiled at him and looked kind of surprised to see the three dead walkers at the edge of the woods.

Daryl came over and handed me three of the fatter squirrels and I traded him 5 power bars that he liked and ate while hunting and a water bottle. They were already skinned and cut up so all I had to do was cook them. I took them inside the Rv and went to the stove and started to dice them up before frying them in a pan. I also had left over pancakes from the day before that we would eat with a breakfast bar. We all got about half a squirrel, two pancakes, and a power bar if we were still hungry.

I was getting Ethan changed while the boys got dressed when someone tried to open the Rv door to find it still lock like I always kept it. I finished getting Ethan dressed when they yanked on the door a third and fourth time. I went to the fridge and grabbed Ethan bottle that I started to feed him with before I answered the Rv door to find Lori trying to open it with a frown on her face. I saw that Rick was talking to Shane about something so he didn't see he wonder over.

"What do you want Lori I'm trying to feed my family." I told her shifting Ethan so he could take the bottle better.

"I want to come in and talk to Carol." She told me crossing her arms over he chest in a demanding way.

"No now go on and cook for group." I told her shutting the Rv in her face before she could say anything else.

I was now finishing up feeding Ethan his bottle before getting his jar peas baby food out of the cabinet that I kept his baby food in. I was feeding him his baby food as the boys wondered in fully dressed and ready for the day. The sat down at the table beside me and across from Sophia as Carol handed us each a bowl of the breakfast pasta and power bar to eat for breakfast. I burped Ethan before putting him in his bouncer to play while I ate and talked to Rick about where to go from here.

I was leaving the Rv just as the rest of the group followed me. Matt and Sam were staying close and keeping an eye out while I carried Ethan in one arm on my hip. I made sure to shut the Rc door behind me and pick up my weapons on the way out the door. I had my bow and arrows strapped to my back and my guns strapped to my upper thigh and waist for easy access. I stopped beside Rick who was looking at at map with Glenn and Shane. The didn't seemed to be getting anywhere on where we would go next.

Shane wanted to go to the Army Base Fort Bennett, Rick wasn't sure but wanted get away from the city, and Glenn just wanted to get a move on before more walkers got here. I stood there and looked at the map for a while before I figured out that we would have to go either around the city or threw it if we wanted to go to Fort Bennett like we did on the way here. I also knew that the city would have to many walkers to go threw so that left going around it now you just had to pick which way you would take since their was like 5 of them.

I looked over to check on the the kids to find them all playing tag while Matt watched and stood guard or at least that is what I saw everyones else would think that he just didn't want to play. Matt also had his bow and gun but his gun was hidden while he bow was drawn and cocked ready to fire if need be. I saw a squirrel scamper out to the edge of the road and the sound of an arrow flying through the air. Matt had shot at it and hit it right in the head. I smiled at him as he went to pick it up and started to skin it right there at the edge of the road not fazed at all.

"Rick lets look through these 3 cars and get their gas before we leave should only take 10 minuets tops." I top him pointing to the three cars around us.

Rick agreed so we started to look through the cars. In one I found a bag of baby clothes that would fit Ethan in a couple months so I grabbed the whole diaper bag. Inside was a canister of formula and bag of diapers along with wipes and a couple toys. There was also a couple cans of ABC soup that I put in my bag when no one was looking.I also collected the three fourths of a way full tank of gas that went in to my Rv since we were getting low. I put the rest in the side storage of the Rv to use later.

Rick searched another car where he found a couple bottles of water and a box of half opened pop tarts that he added to his bag. I saw that their was a first aid kit under the seat of the car that he was looking through and pulled it out from under the passengers seat. Shane's car had a little under half a tank of gas but other than that nothing that was worth keeping so we got the kids rounded up and left that areas to get away from the city. Ethan was in his carseat sleeping while Sam watched Tv with Me while Matt read in his book.

We drove for about three hours before I had to feed and change Ethan before putting him back in his carseat. We drove for about 10 more minuets before we came to a stop because Dale's Rv had quit working again. We were also at a huge car pile up that would be a bitch to get around since it was at least 20 deep full of cars all trying to get to the city but now they had no one in them and were just left there by who ever owned them. I checked on Ethan and saw that he was sound asleep in his carseat and so was Sam. Matt on the other hand was up and ready as soon as the Rv was off.

"Matt I need you to stay here for now and watch your brothers you know the drill." I told him knowing he would take this seriously.

"I know mom if walkers start to come I take them to back room and shut the doors." Matt told me.

"Since we are going to be here a while I'm going to go ahead and take Sam back there so if things go wrong all you have to do is grab Ethan." I told him picking up a sleeping Sam taking him to his bed.

I took sam and tucked him in his bed before going back to the living area and took Ethan out of his carseat carful not to wake him up and put him in his moses basket that was laying the chair beside his. Now if walkers or trouble came all he had to do was grab the basket and get to the back of the Rv which he knew how to do. We had done drills when this first started so he would be ready to do if he needed to. Matt went to stand at the open Rv door.

I would crack it once I left so that he could hear what was going on but animals or walkers couldn't easily get in. I grabbed an empty bag to put supplies in that I found in the cars. I pulled my Rv up to sit beside Dales so that everyone would together in the same area. Dale was going to keep watch while everyone started to look through the cars and Glenn fixed the Rv. I went one of the farther out cars so the other women could stay closer to the Rv's. I found some food, water, clothes, and baby supplies in the first couple cars.

I hit the jackpot one the next truck when I came across a half full box of two different kinds of ammo they were for a pistol and shotgun which I had both of so I put them in my bag. I also found three coloring books and a couple boxes of crayons.I was putting a couple Books that I found that one of the kids might like when I heard yelling coming from the Rv's. I saw everyone getting under the cars and trucks. I then saw a herd of maybe 30 walkers coming our way. I immediately jumped into action and towards where Sophia was getting under one of the cars.

"Sophia listen to me, You stay under that car until I tell you to get out okay. Now I'm going to have to leave you hear and get under the car behind yours so you'r going be quiet and close your eyes." I told her as i gave her a pat on the back after making sure she was fully under it on all sides.

I got under a car of my own just as the first walker came around the front of the Rv's. I just hoped that Matt got Ethan to the back of the Rv and was safe. I checked on everyone else and Carol look the most scared Lori was having to cover her mouth with her hand to keep the noise down from her crying. I gave them both a nod as the first of the walkers past by us. We waited like five minuets before they started to get more and more space between them. We were almost at the end of them when I saw Sophia start to move to soon.

There was a set of three walkers which were the last of the herd that hadn't past her so I did the only thing I could think of. I look Lori in the eye and moth 'Boys' and pointed towards the Rv and she got the message because she nodded understanding to check on them for me. I saw Sophia was about to get out from under the car so I got out from under mine getting there attention before running off into the woods.

As I ran I cocked the first arrow into my bow and hid behind one of tress after getting a good head start. I killed the first one with my bow before killing the second one with a knife to the head. I then took off running again and I was making sure to leave a trail for Matt or Daryl to follow. After running for about a minuet i heard Sophia scream which made fear run up my body. I killed the last one after gaining enough ground to do it safely. By now I had been in the wood about 5 minuets now before I saw a blur of pink running past me and two more walkers stumbling after her.

I ran towards her but Rick grabbed her before I could get to her. I killed the two walkers following them but another two showed up at the river bed. I was on the other side of the river and saw Rick hide her in a burrow as he lead the other two walkers off away from her. I waited until they were far enough away not to be seen to go get her. I called her out of the burrow and grabbed her picking her up so she would get wet. I carried her until we got to the edge of the river bed before putting her down.

"Sophia listen to me I know you are scared and want your mom but I need you to be big brave girl for me. We are going to head back towards the road but it's going to get dark soon so we might not get back in time but I promise I will get you back to your mom." I told her with a smile on my face.

We headed back towards the highway making sure to keep the sun over our right shoulders. I was now getting really dark since we had taken a longer route back to the highway to make sure we didn't run into any more walkers but close enough to the other one that we could see it. It was now getting dark and I knew that we wouldn't be able to get back in time before it got dark. I found a good sturdy tree that would hold us both.

"Sophia we aren't going to make it back in time so we are going to stay in this tree for the night and go back in the morning." I told her as I lifted her up onto the lower branches.

I climbed up after her and passed her in the tree before stopping to help her up to my level and climbing up a litter higher and repeating the process until we were far enough up that we would be safe and the tree had a good bend to hold us. There was two three branches that made a chair almost it looked like. I sat down first with my back to the tree before putting Sophia between my legs. There was a big branch for us to sit on then there was one on each side of so we couldn't fall if he leaned one way or the other.

"Okay we are going to stay here for the night." I told her sitting her so he back was against my chest.

I gave Sophia one of the snacks I had packed in my bag that I had found in one of the cars. She fell asleep quickly so she must have been really tired from the days adventure. I stayed up to make sure neither of us fell and to keep an eye out for walkers or other people. I could see the hill that was right before the road from where we at so we were close to the road. I stayed up most the nigh only dozing here and there. Sophia on the other hand slept the whole night and morning came faster then expected.

Once morning hit as the sun was finishing raising over the horizon I woke up Sophia. I knew she would be scared so I made sure I had a good grip on her so she wouldn't fall out of the tree before waking her up. I was right at first she was scared and tried to fight me but I was stronger than he and calmed her down. I then stood up before climbing down a couple branches and then helped her down then repeated the process like i did going up.

I got out of the tree first and looked around to make sure it was safe before helping a tired Sophia out of the tree. We still had at least half a days walk back to the highway. I kept my mind off the boys as much as I could. I killed two rabbits that I saw as we walked so we would have a good lunch since neither of us had more than a power bar all day yesterday. I found a good spot that I could see a good distance around us before stopping and building a small fire.

I cooked both rabbits before giving Sophia three fourths of the food after it was cooked. I wanted her to have enough energy to get back to the highway. We finished eating fast and I put out fire and we started walking again to get back as soon as we could. We walked another hour before taking a 5 minuet break we were probably another 1 at the pace we were going. Sophia was still tired after not having enough food with how much energy we were using.

I was able to hear the group at the highway if I strained but we still had another 20 minuets easy of walking when we heard the gun shot go off behind us farther in the woods making us both jump. Sophia by now was barley able to stay on her feet she was dehydrated along with me and hungry. I could tell after her stumbling every couple steps she was dead on her feet. I had to pick her up the last 10 minuets of the walk. As we reached the edge of the woods we heard screaming from a woman behind us echo through the woods.

I climbed over the railing at the highway and was meet by Glenn and Dale who were working on the Rv. The looked surprised to see me and Sophia alive and well. I handed her off to Glenn before going to check on my boys. Glenn told me that the boys were in my Rv that they had locked themselves in yesterday after finding out that I had went after Sophia. Matt must have been taking care of his brothers like I asked him to. I got to my Rv to find it locked like always so I knocked on the Rv and waited for Matt to open it up.

When Matt opened it up he was shocked at first before me leaped onto my arms giving me a hug. I walked into the Rv to find it wasn't like I had left it was not spotless and everything was put up in it's spot. The dishes clean, water bottles refilled, laundry done, and food organized by date in the cabinets. Matt must have stayed up half the night working on all this. Matt was always a worrier. I went to the bed room area to find Sam taking a nap since it was after lunch. I walked over to him and sat down on he bed beside him.

I woke Sam up with a smile on my face since it was time for him to get up otherwise he wouldn't sleep tonight. He cried when he saw me before giving my a big hug and wouldn't let me get up until Ethan started to cry which got my attention. I smiled when I picked him up and went to give him a diaper change. After changing his diaper i put him in his sling and went to look through some of the cars for supplies. Matt and Sam joined me each having a bag. We had went through the toys when we were at the quarry and got rid of all the ones that they really didn't like that much.

So they were down to almost a fourth of the few toys they had at the start of all this so I would let them keep a few toys but not many. We had found several canned goods, snacks, first aid supplies in the 10 cars we looked through. Sam was helping me looked through the cars. I had hit the jackpot when I open the trunk on a mini van and found a doctor's surgical bag with lots of first aid supplies in like Itch cream, headache medicine, and lots of common cold medicine. That would come in handy this winter.

I was putting a couple small hot wheel cars that I had found when Daryl, Carol, and a shaken up Andrea came out of the woods looking tired or the women did Daryl just look annoyed. I was digging through another car and found some more baby food as I heard Carol crying as she hugged and kiss her daughter. I took the full bag of supplies back to the Rv with the boys in tow. Ethan was now hungry and started to cry.

I got his bottle and started to feed him when someone knocked on the Rv door. Glenn was standing there with a really sick T-dog leaning against him. He could barley stand and was sweating really bad. I had to burped Ethan before passing him off to Matt to finish feeding him. I went and helped T-dog sit down at the table in the Rv so I could look at his arm that was cut bad. I walked to the back of the Rv and got a first aid kit out of the bathroom along with some gauze and medical tape. I could tell by the black lines on his arm that it was infected.

I got back up and went over to the Storage room and unlocked it. I got out a Gatorade for him to drink along with a candy bar to get his sugar level up. I couldn't give him medicine if i didn't know what to give him because that could kill him faster than anything. I rewrapped his cut before Glenn told me reason he had came over to my Rv. Carl had gotten shot earlier and needed medical attention and was now at some farm down the road not to far from here.

"Ellen I'm going to take T-Dog to the farm to get looked at since he is a doctor." Glenn told me as he helped get T-dog to a seat.

I got T-Dog to the closet seat and buckled him. I went to find Matt and Sam who were looking through some of the cars with Carol and Sophia to keep their mind off of that Carl was hurt. I went over to the box that I gave Carol to put supplies since they didn't have anything. I have gotten closer to Carol in the past half day more than I have in the past three and half months. Lori gone really let us talk and work together collecting supplies.

"Carol I'm going to the farm with Glenn and T-dog and wanted to know if you and Sophia wanted to come to." I asked her helping her sort threw a basket of clothes.

"Yeah sure it will be good to get off the highway but Daryl's not back from hunting yet." She told me folding up a couple tops for her and putting them into the box.

"Why don't I ask Dale to wait here with Andrea for Daryl while we go to the farm." I told her.

"Okay." Carol answered unsure.

"Boys, Sophia wrap it up finish up the car you are working on and head to the Rv we're leaving in 10." I yelled at them so they would hear me.

"Okay mom I will grab the box after I'm done here." Matt told me from where he was digging through a bed of a truck."

I went over to the water truck that Shane had found and open the side that they never did. The whole side was full of water jugs and I grabbed two out of carrying one in each hand over to the side of the Rv. I opened the water heater to put water in the tank since I had done clothes, dishes and showers for all three of us, Plus Glenn, Carol and Sophia took a shower the night they spent with us. I used my hunting knife to open the plastic that was covering the lid, before dumping it into the water heater and did the same with the second one.

I kept the jugs in the bottom of the Rv since we could use them to hold water or gas in the future. I put them in the empty storage area on the outside of the Rv. I left the tab open before going over to the water truck and grabbing two more and putting them down their to for later. I shut the tab and then locked it before taking the last four of the water jugs inside the Rv and into the storage room.
