Missing

The Strawhat pirates sailed through the new world, they've delt with many who stood in their Captains path to become the Pirate King. Their crew was small, but formidable, claiming Warlords, Yonkos, and even Admirals. Nothing stood in their way. Jimbe, the ships Helmsmen, Brook the Musician, Franky the Shipwright, Robin the Archeologist, Chopper the Medic, Sanji the Cook, Usopp the Sniper, Nami the Navigator, Zoro the Swordsman, and leading this crew is the current Pirate King himself Monkey D. Luffy. This crew did what very few others could, they took on the world to fulfill their dreams...

"Robin it's your turn walking Luffy through town." Usopp says to Robin as the rest of the crew besides Luffy and Robin leave the ship. Robin hums anxiously turning to her rambunctious Captain who swings from the Crows nest. "Is that alright?" Usopp asks anxiously fiddling with his hands, he knows Robin can be quite brutal. Robin turns back to Usopp with a sigh "I got him. Is there anything we need to get before we return?" She asks crossing her arms. "Nothing in particular, I guess just try to have fun with Luffy." Usopp explains stepping off the ship "If he gets in too much trouble just bring him back!"

Robin watches as Usopp walks into town, meeting up with Chopper and Franky. She turns to her Captain who appears to be waiting patiently beside the railing. "Are you ready Captain?" She asks putting her arms through the straps of a bag which hangs off her shoulders from her back. Inside the bag is a few books, a few sheets of paper and a quill and ink, just in case she needs to write anything down, and a small bag of money from Nami. He stands up nodding "Do you wanna go anywhere first?" He asks following beside her as the two step off the ship.

As they walk through the streets of this town she notices it's quite murky, the ground appears to be wet, and any wanted posters have gotten so wet they've deteriorated, a sign Marines haven't been here in a while. Lots of barrels and boxes piled up against the stone buildings, most likely stores or a storage building. The town gives off a run down vibe, glass shards scattered in nearby alleyways as people creep about in the dark areas. As she looks for a library she looks up at the signs hanging off the buildings. The signs appear to be run down, you can hardly make out the words on it. All this grimy stuff and yet people still walk through the town. She moves luffy to the side next a building moving out of the way of people walking both ways through the town. It looks so busy.

"Are you okay?" He asks nudging her shoulder. She turns to him, seeing him look a bit worried at her. She waves her hand "I'm fine. Just, why is this place so busy if it's so messy?" She mumbles, people wouldn't be working in a place like this unless something or someone made them do it. "Maybe they can't afford to fix it? I don't know, I'm hungry." He grumbles rubbing his stomach as he pouts. She'd love to get him food but can hardly make out a sign, either the writings washed away or it's broken. She holds his hand leading him through the crowd, it's become busy all the sudden. Leading the way she and Luffy make it through the crowd reaching an outdoor market area.

He sniffs the air, groaning from smell the filth "Can't even smell the food..." he mumbles. She takes Luffy to the market area, looking around the stalls she sees asortments of foods and other various items like jewelry, perfume, and clothing. As she looks through, stopping Luffy from stealing food from the stalls she glances around, seeing people in grey suits and a bird mask patrolling by the alleyways. She slips on some glasses she had in a pocket of her bag and gives her second pair to Luffy. "What's this for?" He asks admiring the shades before putting them on. "Sorry Captain, something just... doesn't feel right." She murmurs.

Turning back to the stalls she glances around, the stall owners seem anxious. Grabbing a few fruits she walks up to the stall owner, Luffy by her side. "Excuse me, we'd like to buy these." She asks the stall owner in a faint accent, making Luffy tilt his head in confusion. The stall own twirls to her urgently "Thatd be 10 berries!" The stall owner says quickly, Robin frowns slightly at the price, 4 fruits for 10? She reaches into her pocket pulling out 10 berries, the stall owner swipes them from her hand before disappearing behind her stall. Robin groans, the stall owners actions only increasing her anxiousness about this town. "Come on." She murmurs to Luffy, glaring at the stall as she takes his hand walking away.

They find a nearby bench, sitting on it she hands Luffy 3 fruits, saving the last one for herself as she stares at the market. As Luffy chomps down on his fruits she watches those bird masked guys whisper to each other. She uses her Devil fruit, sprouting an ear by the bird men. She listens intently "Seriously? They were in town?" The one with the Bluejay mask says, the Robin mask shushes him "Shhhh! If they're here then their Captain is too, we can make a fortune from this. We won't even needs the towns people anymore." The Robin whispers. She assumes their talking about the rest of the crew, but how did they get caught? They haven't heard a thing since they got here. "Should we deliver them to the boss?" The Bluejay asks, the Robin shakes his head "Lets get the Captain first, then we can deliver the whole package."

Their conversation ends as the two split up. Robin anxiously turns to her Captain who finishes his last fruit before sighing "This food is horrible..." she hums stroking her chin gently. Those bird guys have the crew, leaving only herself and Luffy. If she tells Luffy he'll cause a ruckus alerting whoever this 'boss' is. Their clearly after the bounties on their heads, which explains why the food was pricey, they've been getting money from the townsfolk, which also explains the horrible state this towns in. She knows they could just rush em, Luffy is the pirate king, but if they took out every other member of the crew without them knowing they must have something to counter against them. She groans, everything happened so soon into coming here she can hardly concentrate.

"Robin?" She hears, turning to Luffy who gives her a worried look "What's wrong?" He asks. She stares down at the ground, she's worried if they rush in they could put the crew at risk and potentially get caught themselves. "We should go back to the ship." She says standing from the bench. Luffy stands up beside her, as she begins to walk she feels him hold her hand, she stops turning to him confused "Don't wanna lose you." He says with a grin, chuckling. She groans, a faint blush burning her cheeks finding his expression to be very cute. "Very well." She says retaining her confident tone as she leads Luffy back to the ship.

They both stare dumbfounded, her even more so. It's bad enough they took the crew, but they had to take their ship? Luffy growls, fuming as he turns to the town, about to storm in until she sprouts arms around his body, holding him down. "Luffy... you have to... calm down!" She says through gritted teeth, trying to hold him back. She looks up spotting bird men by a nearby alleyway. She drags him away from the docks behind a stack of boxes near a garage. As he grunts and huffs, trying to break free from his bindings she peeks out from behind the stack, seeing the two bird men wearing a Woodpecker and a Humming bird mask.

She sprouts an eye closer to the two men, getting a better look at them. She sees what appears to be a foldable crossbow on the man's wrist, feathers holstered on his hip in a small bucket like arrows. She wonders if it's something on the feathers that too out the crew. Sprouting an ear by the birds she listens in. "Who are we lookin for again?" The Woodpecker asks, "Their Captain and the Archeologist, but mainly the Captain since he's got the highest bounty." The Humming Bird exclaims. "But isn't the Archeologist like, the smartest? Doesn't she know a lot? Wouldn't the boss be more interested in her?" The Woodpecker asks. The Humming shrugs "The boss is already smart, he just needs the money! And turning these pirates in will get him the money!"

This 'boss' guy isn't after information, they clearly state he needs money, then what's the money for? She hums a potential solution, turning to Luffy who appears to be passed out from lack of oxygen. She sighs, all this is making her stressed out. She kneels beside the large garage door, sprouting an eye inside she looks around. A lot of big supplies like wood and steel sit in the dark garage. She looks around for a door on the outside, finding one on the far side of the garage door. She leaves there for the moment, stepping lightly as she speed walks over to the door. Taking off her bag she reaches into it pulling out her quill she attempts to pick the lock, of course turning the nob before reaching this conclusion. As she picks the lock she hears a cough behind her, she quickly turns seeing two men in black overalls and a white shirt underneath it, wearing the same dark blue hat.

"What are you doin?" The older man asks, scratching his grey beard. She chuckles anxiously, standing up straight she makes herself look seductive, letting of strand of hair drape over her face as she lowers a string from her top revealing her neck and shoulders, she puts on a fake blush and giggles cutely "Hiya boys~ I kinda left my purse in this here garage~ do you think you can let me in so I can find it?" She asks playing the 'drunken whore' she doesn't like doing it but if it gets her inside. The younger gentlemen grins "Whats your purse doin in there?" He asks stepping closer. She scoffs before stepping closer to him, caressing her finger along his arm sensually "I kinda... left it there last night~ after some... fun~" she whispers in his ear. The young man chuckles, brushing his finger along her hips, if she wasn't trying to get into the garage she would've snapped his neck "Well, darlin I think we can make a deal~" the younger man chuckles. The older man steps beside her grabbing her arm as he sniffs her hair "We'll let you in if you show us the fun you showed them other guys the previous night." The older man chuckles, pulling her toward the door he pulls out his keys unlocking it. She sighs, in the end it was pointless to pretend. One the doors open she sprouts arms snapping both of the mens necks. "Fucking creeps..." she whispers glaring down at them with malice.

She drags Luffy inside the garage, hiding the bodies inside a locker. She closes the door locking it behind her, she lets out a long sigh, feeling a little violated from those guys. She hears a groan, turning her head she sees Luffy regaining consciousness, she thinks quickly on how she'll explain this whole thing. Luffy rubs his head, groaning before growling "Someone... took my ship!" He shouts jumping to feet before looking around. "Captain please calm down!" Robin shouts standing in front of him. He huffs angrily "Why did you stop me? And where are we?!" He shouts looking around the garage. She sighs "The crew... has been taken..." she says, his face of anger turns to fury "What?" He growls through gritted teeth. She steps back a little, anxious for her safety "Luffy we can't just rush in!" She shouts hoping to get through to him "It's worked every time!" He retorts stomping toward the large garage door. She blocks his path trying to push him back "How do you think they caught them?! This crew is no joke Luffy! We have to be smart about this!" She screams huffing in exhaustion, she doesn't yell a lot. He stops his advances, groaning as he steps back "They need us..." he says firmly. She nods panting "I know... but we can't get the back by rushing in... their already strong... but if these guys caught them without us knowing... then their more dangerous then we know... we have to play this smart. We can't rush in this time, the whole towns involved. If we rush in we could end up just like them."

He groans, growling furiously, clenching his fists before sighing deeply. He rubs his head, sitting on the floor of the garage "Alright Robin... what do we do?" Robin huffs, sitting down in front of him, a bit shocked to see him so aware "You'll really... do this?" She asks. He vents through his nose, before nodding begrudgingly "For my crew... I'll do anything..." she gulps, before relaxing a bit "Thank you." As she thinks of an potential plan she hears him groan, looking up to see him scratching his head "Sorry for yelling..." he murmurs. She smiles, putting her hand over his "I understand, your worried about them. I am too. But this may be bigger than we realize, so we'll have to take this slow. Are you with me Luffy?" She asks, sweat beading down her cheek, this is gonna be difficult. He nods, holding her hand he grips it firmly "For the crew!" He declares making her chuckle "For the crew..." and the town.

A sort of premier if you will. I kept trying to think of a Luffy and Robin story I could do that spans a few chapters. But I didn't want to copy what I did with Luffy and Nami, so I had to think a little harder. I didn't want it on the ship cause that'd feel restrictive. I could just toss them on an island alone cause that's what I did with Stranded. I wanted a new story, that highlighted Robin and Luffy and the chemistry they have. I wanted something different, something I haven't made that makes Robin and Luffy look good and eventually come together in the end. And after seeing The Batman in theaters... a mystery, that uses Robins wits to figure out what's going on, and with Luffys help find and free their crew, and the town itself. It may be a little gritty and angsty and while I don't like those things as much (But I loved them in The Batman) I think it'll fit this narrative well. It's my first time with the mystery genre in One Piece, so forgive me if I make mistakes or ruin what I've built up. I accept criticism of course, but like I said I wanted to try something different. Yes this will end with Luffy X Robin.
