Iron
As he slowly lowers them both they're startled by a loud thud before hearing something start up. The noise getting louder as they descend. "That noise again." He spoke softly, she glanced up at him, recalling he heard a noise on their way to the mansion "You heard this?" He nods "Just before the crowd started to pick up." She strokes her chin, perhaps the sound of bustling people is meant to block the sounds from down here "Whats going on?" As they descend they reach a hill like wall, softly landing on it, leaving them to slide down it slowly.
"Perhaps a factory? Or maybe their real base is down here." She recalls they planned to "claim the world" but what on earth are they working on to achieve that goal? And to think it was part of their plan to capture them. "Robin there's a light." He whispered, she looked down, seeing the platform of the elevator continue downward. She looks to the side seeing a iron catwalk just beside the edge of the rim leading into what seems to be a much larger room "Over there." She points. He maneuvers to the right side before grabbing the railing. She stares down at the seemingly dark abyss before lights turn on down the wall revealing a much lower floor.
As he gets them both onto the catwalk she gazes over the side stunned by the sight as one by one, lights turn on brightening the once dark room revealing a large cannon like mechanism in the center of it all. "That's one big gun." He whispers. "They don't want to claim the world, they want to end it..." she gulps, seeing the sheer size of the cannon "But what on earth are they using it to fire? Surely there Isn't ammunition that big!?" She looks around the large room, seeing workers with hard hats, similar to the two guys who approached her just outside the garage that she killed. "Come on." She waved walking down the catwalk, Luffy catching up behind her seemingly unable to keep his eye off the machine.
She looks around seeing more elevators along the stone walls, they must have docks all around the island. She looks along the walls to small rooms, seeing people dressed in white doctor-like outfits. She reaches a turn, stopping just against the wall before the turn. Seeing Luffy pass by her, unaware she stopped she pulls him back, putting a hand over his mouth as she hears faint mumbling. She glances behind the wall, seeing a window and a door just a few feet away. She sprouts an eye inside before feeling a slight stinging.
She winces removing her eye from inside the room she covers hers "You alright?" He asks seeing her pained expression. "Their working with chemicals, depending on which, my eye may be screwed." She whispers peeking into the room she sees two scientists mixing chemicals into a purple fluid before pouring and filling small tube like containers, similar to the empty bottles they found on the bird men. It's the poison, Rememdis, these labs create it and give them to the bird men up top. Where better to make these then underground where no one knows about them.
"Stay low." She turned to him, her left eye closed, stinging from the chemical exposure. He nods, crouching as they crawl under the window, just out of sight from him she sprouts arms inside, snapping the two scientists necks. As they crawl she can't help but think why all this? She wonders how they even plan to use such a weapon, sure it looks intimating but what ammunition does it require? She looks ahead seeing a elevator like door, the lights above it blinking before it makes a ding, she stops feeling him bump into her ass.
"What?" He asks before getting shushed by her. She sees the elevator open up before grabbing him by the collar and pushing him over the railing before jumping off herself. He quickly grabs the side of the catwalk before grabbing her arm, straining as he holds them both up. She sighs in relief that he acted quickly, their eyes follow the two black suited crow men as they walk along the catwalk toward the direction they came from. She looks down before holding onto his arm seeing another window just below her, if she was any lower they'd see her. He huffs, holding onto her tightly but not enough to hurt her, as he awaits for them to disappear behind the turn she taps his arm, making him look down.
"Over there." She whispers pointing to what appears to be the rest or the Strawhats hanging by a chain off the end of the massive canon. His grip tightens on the catwalk, crushing the steel "Those bastards..." he whispers. She looks up before glancing down the catwalk to see the two black suits gone "Pull us back up." He nods pulling her back onto the catwalk before climbing back onto it "You pushed me over the edge." He says recalling how they ended there in the first place "Well it's thanks to you we weren't caught." She whispers before glancing at the elevator "Now lets go." She says grabbing his sleeve "Eh? But their right there." He says stopping her progression toward the elevator.
She turns to him fully understanding how he feels "I know but... look around, we're surrounded. And two black suits just passed by. That poison that got the crew caught is being made here. We can't get caught yet." She explains "We can take them! Do you trust that we can?" He says irritated, she sighs "Of course I know, but what if they threaten them? Then we have to surrender." He shakes his head "We don't surrender." He says sternly "Then they'll kill our friends. I don't want that and neither do you. We can't be reckless." She whispers.
"There!" They both hear, turning to see the two black suits charging toward them. Luffy stretches his arm to the elevator button, pressing it opening the doors. He sighs before pushing her into the elevator "Luffy?!" She shouts confused "I'll meet you up there. Be careful, that's an order!" He shouts before the elevator doors close taking her up. She stands up, her heart pounding loudly in her chest, she doesn't know if he'll get captured, or get hurt, or ruin their position. She leans against the wall feeling hopeless, without him, how could possibly hope to get anywhere.
As the elevator reaches the top she hides behind the wall beside the door. She doesn't hear anything, she peeks out seeing a dark room. She slowly steps in, the sounds of the machines and gears below can he heard faintly as she steps away from the elevator. It closes behind her leaving her in a faint darkness, the only light being just above the elevator. She can't hear anything, see anything, she feels as though any noise she makes will be her demise. She begins to sweat she she leans against a giant crate, she tries to find the door but finding it too dark to see anything.
As she gets closer to the opposite wall she starts hearing laughter and talking. She hears it from her right, following along the right wall she feels her way to some staircases leading her up to a door. She opens it faintly before seeing a room filled with grey suited bird men. She regrets leaving her suit behind by the docks, as she slips inside she hides under the tables hearing the party their having. Mentions of supplies or money can be heard as she crawls her way to the other side, having spotted doors. As she gets closer she hears boisterous laughter.
"Why are we holding them hostage if we aren't selling them off?" She hears. She pokes her head out from under the table seeing a group of drunk bird men "Cause the boss wanted them outta the way!" Another drunk shouts. "If he wants them outta the way why are they still alive? Why not gut em?" A seemingly angry drunk says "Cause why waste an orange haired cutie?" A cocky one interjects. She feels a sense of rage surge through her at the mention her friends name in the mouth of these filthy fouls, but she retains her senses, seeing the door she swiftly dashed to it.
"You know what's embarrassing? Not being able to find their idiot of a Captain." She stops just by the door, her hand on the handle. "I heard he's a moron who eats like a glutton." One says, "I heard he's only Captain so the real Captain Zoro doesn't get killed off by mistake." Another says "I bet 100 berries that Captain watches the two only girl members of his crew get fucked by everyone else besides him." That final comment triggers a hysterically laughter from the group.
She turns menacingly over to the crowd, crossing her arms she sprouts arms on everyone's shoulder "No one, insults my Friends, and especially my Captain." With a twist of her arms she snaps a total of a hundred guys in the room, killing them all instantly. She huffs softly, her heart pounding with rage recalling the hateful comments toward her friend and Captain, the thought of them saying another word angers her to no end. But as their bodies slowly start falling, one remains standing. A man in a red vest and shorts with a yellow sash around his waist, his head facing the opposite way.
She stood in shock, seeing the man's X scar on his chest she fell to her knees. She covered her mouth, tears being building in her eyes, she couldn't believe what she had just done- "Thank god in rubber!" Luffy shouted stretching his head back in place before gazing at the floor of bodies. She felt her heart break, just when she thought it was bad, now it's worse. "Robin... what... what happened?" He spoke softly stepping over the bodies. She feels shame, he saw her carnage, she can't help but feeling worse than before, silently crying.
"Robin?! Robin?!" He shouts rushing over to her as he kneels beside her "You okay? Robin?" She left him alone down there to fight off those two crow masked guys, then she felt scared in the dark room, then having to make her way around this crowd of men, shaming her friends, then to find out Luffy not only witnessed her killing then but that she attempted to snap his neck as well. She couldn't help but cry, feeling horrible "I'm sorry..." he hugs her "As long as your okay, you should've waited for me in there, I was worried."
She sniffled, seeing him hold out the bottom of his vest to her, she chuckles softly, wiping off her tears "I'm sorry Captain... I was mad... they said horrible things about you... and I..." he rubs her back "It's okay. But now I'm gonna need you to calm down. I can't be the only one restraining their anger." She nods "Yes, and again I'm sorry..." he pats her head "That's enough. It's past, while..." he glances at the bodies "Just... keep the bodies to a minimum. You know you don't have to do this alone, you don't have to be scared." She nods again, she smiles, for the first time getting lectured by her Captain "And listen." He says, making her look up at him.
"Save your anger for the man responsible. Don't worry about these small fries. And since your the smart one, I need you to figure out what's next." He says with a grin. She sighs rubbing her face before standing up "Right, what to do next..." she says looking around as he stands up. "First we need to establish where we are." She says walking toward the door she was heading toward, peeking out of it she sees the open space they were in just this morning.
"So?" He spoke, she turns to him "We're back in the white mansion." And in the white mansion they saw the window just above them "So now we can check out that room." He nods "Let's hope there isn't anyone else here." He whispers "Let's just hope this 'boss' isn't here." She murmurs before looking around and exiting the room. Following along the wall as they make their way to the other side of the open space, passing by the front doors. "Do we even know how to get up there?" He asks following behind her. As they reach the door on the opposite she peeks in, no one, stepping in she sees a white door on the left wall.
Walking over she turns the nob to find it locked in place "It's locked. Thankfully from the outside." She says sprouting an arm inside she unlocks it, opening the door. "You abilities so useful Robin." He says making her blush before reminding herself just how badly she fucked up without him "Yea, thanks..." she whispered before walking up the steps, he closes and locks the door behind him before catching up to her. They meet another door, a black door with a handle. He gets ready, she grabs the handle, slowly pulling it back they both peek inside, calming as they seen an empty room filled with filing cabinets.
"What the? That's it? I know I sensed something up here earlier." He said looking under and behind stuff. She walks toward a desk, seeing papers sprawled all over it. She picks one up reading it "Shipment for sea prism stone, from the marines?" She looks at another paper seeing the chemicals from the marines too "But... in the morning meeting, they said they were going to destroy the marines, how are they getting their supplies from them?" As he rummages about he bumps into a cabinet letting a blueprint fall to the floor. She turns, picking it up "No way... blueprints for a sea prism stone cannon." Luffy looks at the blueprints shivering at the thought "That's a lot of sea stone." She nods tapping her chin "But... how did they get much? And why didn't we get affected when we were down there?"
"Shit!" She looks toward Luffy who picks her up "Eh? Luffy?" She says hearing a door open just below them "Black birds again. We gotta go." He punches the wall, breaking through it "Luffy!" He leaps out the hole jumping from roof to roof before hiding in an ally. "What is going on here?" She whispered having accidentally taken the blueprints with her, she can't understand the parts or what's needed without Franky. "We need to go Robin." He says, she nods as he picks her up, jumping back on the roof. She feels even further from the truth, and even further from her Captain.
Sorry it took so long. You must understand, this is my first time doing a long mystery story. I not only have to think of what the characters would do, but where to go, or who's around, or the villains plan. It's difficult to think about it all, I'm used to making sex stories or fun romance stories, not mystery drama. Listen, I'm going to take my time with this story, it may be weeks or months without an update but I want to give out quality not quantity. I do not plan on giving up this story, but I'd like you all to wait, I promise I'll finish this story but I want to give you the best I have, and that takes time. Apologies for taking so long, and I apologize in advance for taking even more time before the next chapter.
