A rude awakening
A/N:- Thank you for the reviews. Enjoy.
"Shizu-chan." He had promised to protect his brother and Kasuka had promised to protect him. Everything was a... lie. Did anyone truly care about him? Did anyone actually love him, without an alternative motive? Tears continued running down his face, unable to stop. He was the only monster. Wasn't he? So what did that make everyone else?
"Nii-san." No. Go away. He wanted everyone and everything to go away. It hurt too much, more than broken bones, more than falling from a great height. He could feel his heart splintering, shattering into a million pieces. It hurt. He didn't look up as footsteps stopped in front of him, nor when his brother crouched in front of him, lifting his chin. "Don't cry, no one will hurt you." He didn't flinch as he was kissed.
A bitter laugh caught his attention. "And everyone says Shizu-chan is the monster. Did you forget you tried to kill him?" His eyes widened as Izaya flew back, spitting out blood. "Shut up! Shut up! Nii-san is mine." Why? Why was Izaya going so far? Was it to help him? To wind up Kasuka? For his own amusement? The chains clanked as he brought his hands to his ears, curled up like a small child, trying to block out all the noise.
"Shizu-chan." He was loosing it. He was loosing his mind. "Nii-san." There it was again, as soon as Kasuka came close to him, Izaya would mouth off and piss his little brother off. "Stop it." But he knew it wasn't in Izaya's nature to do as he was told. "Stop it." Kasuka took a step towards him, only for the flea to open his mouth again. "I've had enough of you."
Crimson eyes widened, trying to get away from the needle. He could see the fear in those sharp eyes, Izaya was mouthing something rapidly to him, before his eyes slid shut, collapsing on his side."Izaya! What did you do?" His worry for the flea overwrote his self pity. "He's sleeping. Its just me and you nii-san."
"Let him go. Please." His chin was held up, forcing him to meet those blank eyes. "He tried taking you away from me. I won't let anyone do that." Kasuka pushed his lips against his own, prying them open with his tongue, Shizuo gave in, too broken to fight back. Somehow he had caused this. It was his fault.
The tongue in his mouth, tainted every inch of him. It was wrong. They were brothers. The chains clinked as he was dragged down the wall, further onto the floor. "Kasuka?" Glancing down, he watched his brother unlock the chains, jabbing a needle into his leg. He felt weightless as he was lifted, being lead out of sight of the unconscious teen.
The drug he had been given must be different. This time he didn't feel tired, he was fully awake, he just couldn't move, his arms hung loose as he was carried into the next room and dropped on the floor, where he lay like a puppet with its strings cut, his legs sprawled underneath him. His eyes widened, a nagging feeling at what Izaya had been trying to stop entering his mind.
Don't. He tried opening his mouth, finding that he had no control over his jaw, or any other part of his body. Right now he was a defenceless doll, he couldn't stop anything, he couldn't do anything. "Nii-san, I love you. I'm the only one who ever will." Shizuo continued to stare blankly at the ceiling. "Look at me. I said look at me." Oh! He could still feel pain then.
Shifting his eyes, the blond stared at the kitchen knife sticking out of his hand, pinning it to the floorboard. It hurt, he knew it did. His brain was telling him it was agony, but to anyone else, it would look like it had absolutely no effect on him. Kasuka kissed him again and again, he could feel the bile rising in his throat.
Don't. But he couldn't speak and he knew his stalker wouldn't listen. He refused to believe that his- ah shit. He was crying again, the betrayal alone had torn him apart. His brother stopped undoing his shirt, to wipe them away. "Shh! I'll make everything better." He didn't feel the cold, even though he knew he should. That blank gaze was running over his chest, making him feel uncomfortable.
His floppy arm was lifted, his clothes were pulled over his shoulders, as he was rolled onto his stomach. Shizuo began screaming inside as his pants were removed, leaving him in his boxers. Don't. They could still be a family. He could forgive him. He couldn't lose someone else. Don't. None of his silent pleas were heard.
His legs were spread apart with ease, disgust filled him as he felt something grind against him, those fingers were on his cheeks again. "He was lying right? You wouldn't let them touch you like this would you? I'm the only one who loves you. Only I can touch you this way." Don't. "You're still a virgin. You waited for me. Right?" What had he done wrong?
Closing his eyes, he tried to block it out, but since when had that worked. "Look at me, Nii-san." He ignored it. "Open your eyes." There was more pain as another knife was driven through his shoulder, blood was beginning to flow and stain the wood. His eyes widened, seeing Izaya standing behind his brother, his teeth were gritted, lips bleeding, eyes narrowed and dazed, blood dripped from a clenched fist, where he could see a silver blade clutched tightly. The flea looked a mess, but he still loved him.
His brother hadn't noticed yet, too busy trying to... undress him. If it was any other situation, he would've laughed at the fact Izaya was holding onto a frying pan of all things, he wasn't aware he had brought one. His eyes widened as it was swung, falling to the floor with a loud clang as it whacked against Kasuka's skull. His brother fell to the floor, Izaya swayed eyes closing, tipping forward, landing on his chest, the knife dropping from his clenched fist, unmoving in his unconscious state. None of them could move.
Shizuo didn't know how long it had been, he was still bleeding, his puddle growing, his head already fuzzy. Izaya was still drugged, laying on him. His brother was laying on his side, blood dripping from his forehead. He still couldn't move his body yet, what happened next, was down to whoever woke up first. Kasuka or Izaya.
It was Kasuka. A blow to the head wasn't enough. For the first time in his life, he saw his brother angry, he caught a glimpse of the monster hiding underneath and it made his blood run cold. Don't. Don't. He could see the craziness, the blank mask completely shattered. There was no doubt, it was his little brother. His fingers twitched and he knew he would be able to move.
Gritting his teeth, he felt the knife bite as he wrapped his arms protectively around Izaya. Don't. "You choose him?" Shizuo said nothing. "I'll kill him. He can't have you." Kasuka stepped forward, another knife in his hand. An inhuman scream left him as he forced his recovering body to roll over, the knife still pinning him down, tearing the hole in his shoulder wider. Wake up Izaya. Wake up and get the fuck out of here.
The blond didn't have all the feeling back yet, so using his working arm, he pulled himself across the floor, watching as the trail of blood followed him. His back was drenched in his own crimson liquid. "Nii-san. I love you." His damaged hand gripped Izaya tighter. Sorry Izaya. The minute Kasuka grabbed his foot, he knew he wouldn't get away. Every muscle screamed, but he managed to throw the flea out of the door, watching him crash into the cardboard boxes. Letting himself drop, he used his arm, to hit the door shut.
Kicking out, he used one last effort to pull himself across, so he was leaning back against the door. Once again it was just the two of them. "You'd go so far to protect him?" His hair was yanked forward, the knife stabbing into his leg. Even then he remained where he was, blocking the door. "You're mine, nii-san. All mine." Kasuka kissed him gently, holding his head up, as his body began to rest from the blood loss. The arms that had once been a comfort, wrapped around him, pulling him into an embrace. "I love you, nii-san." His eyes slipped shut, falling into a welcome darkness.
A loud wailing filled his ears, making him force his eyes open. He was still in the same room, but he had been pulled away from the door. His brother was slumped on the floor, tied up, the rope was held by- he couldn't make it out. The window was smashed, someone was hovering over him, his vision blurred, feeling a weight on his good side. The room spun and the wailing got louder. Sirens? He could hear voices that sounded so far away...
Shizuo opened his eyes staring up at a white ceiling. The constant beeping told him he was in the hospital yet again. His gaze roamed around, seeing that the door was closed, the chair had been placed in front of it. Yet he wasn't alone. There were four other people in the room. Erika was sitting in the chair, blocking the door, Walker standing next to him. Kadota was sitting in another chair at his bedside and Izaya was sitting cross legged at the end of his hospital bed.
It was the flea, that realised he was awake first. "Shizu-chan!" Crimson eyes filled his gaze as Izaya crawled in front of him, staring at him intently. "Shizuo. How are you feeling?" Unable to turn away from Izaya, when he was that close, he let out a confused sigh. "Wha-?" Reaching up, he moved his thumb across the bandages that covered the flea's head. He was still alive. Wasn't he?
"Dotachin, can you wait outside? Don't let anyone in." Shizuo heard his friend, get up and pull the chair away from the door. "Wah! I want to watch!" The door closed, the room becoming silent. "Shizu-chan. How are you feeling?" His hand was grabbed as he tried to pull away. "What happened?" He didn't want to hear about it, but he knew he had to. It wasn't just a bad dream. It was a painful reality.
"Hm? At what point? Before that drug kicked in, I called Dotachin. I woke up, just as he broke the window. You were in a pretty bad way. He didn't do anything else, did he? Other than cut and stab you." He knew. Izaya knew exactly what his brother was capable of. "Why were you there?" Izaya shrugged, keeping his innocent façade. "I went to see Shinra, who tried knocking me out. Instead I made him take me to where you were."
His gaze dropped to Izaya's bandaged hand. "Idiot. Why would you-" Shaking his head, he growled in pain, clutching at his shoulder. "The doctor said it will heal, along with your leg. You might not be able to move your hand properly." Shizuo nodded, he should be used to pain by now. "Kasuka?" For once Izaya was silent. "Damn it flea. Tell me."
"Dotachin handed him over to the police, while I brought you to the hospital." Closing his eyes, he let out a deep sigh. This would destroy his father. "Kasuka-kun hasn't been charged." What? His head shot up. "Shizu-chan, he signed a contract from a talent scout. They paid for his lawyer." Which meant his little brother was still roaming around. He knew he wouldn't be getting any sleep for a while. "Your father hasn't been called yet and we haven't given our statements to the police. What do you want to tell them?"
"...Nothing." Crimson eyes stared at him. "Shizu-" Shaking his head, he forced a smile, that he knew didn't reach his eyes. "Nothing happened. Nothing happened. I'm okay. This is nothing." He felt fingers brush against his cheek, which he reflexly slapped away. "Shizu-chan." Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to meet that sharp gaze.
"Can you get out?" Shoving Izaya away, he winced at the thought of hurting any unknown injuries. The bed creaked as the flea got up, opening the door. It closed again, with a click, leaving him alone. Curling up into a ball, he pulled the flimsy covers over him, flinching when he heard the door open again. "Shizu-chan! I sent Dotachin and the otakus home." The bed dipped.
"Go away!" Izaya pulled back the covers, climbing in next to him. "Nope." Gritting his teeth, he turned around to face him. "I said get out." That crimson gaze remained steady. "Nope." Slim arms wrapped around his waist pulling him closer to the flea. "Leave me al-one." His head rested against the solid chest. "I can't do that, Shizu-chan."
Shizuo grit his teeth, his breath hitching as his chest tightened, a sob escaping him. His hands clenched in Izaya's shirt, his wound reopening, blood seeping through the bandage. The damn flea said nothing, one hand stroking the back of his hair, like he was child. It wasn't fair. His tears ran freely, unable to stop them. "I promise, he won't touch you again." Closing his eyes, he let Izaya hold him, shaking his head. No, he didn't need protecting. He had got those close to him hurt and Izaya almost killed. Everything was his fault.
Next:- A rocky future
