Wolfie: I don't own anything related to Supernatural or Lucifer, just the changes to the plot and the . Also sorry, I'm a scatter brain. When it comes to Supernatural this starts in season 5, not 4. I was updating Not Your Brother Anymore when I made chapter 1 of this book. So I accidentally said season 4. Lastly just for a reference, fem Lucifer's face claim is Sofia Carson. That's just how I envision her looking but you can use your imaginations if you want. Now please read, review, and I hope you have enjoyed this story so far.
Chapter 2
When Sam and Dean had woken up the next day they had assumed they would have a quiet morning. Where all they have to do is go find a diner to go to so they could have some coffee and some breakfast. Instead the first thing they saw was the female Lucifer that they had talked to yesterday. The dark brown haired female sitting there casually at the table next to Sam's laptop, just as casually sipping a cup of coffee. Not even batting an eyelash as Dean pulled his gun from underneath his pillow, clicking off the safety as he aimed it at her. Was it the wisest choice to aim a gun at Lucifer, the real Lucifer, of all people? Probably not, but the eldest Winchester did it anyways, a reflex of his that was active even during the fogginess of just waking up. Then, much to both boy's surprise, Lucifer motioned to two other coffee cups that were next to Sam's laptop. Steam rising from the both of them as she set her own cup down, which ironically had "Devil may care" written on the side in red.
"Coffee, boys?" Lucifer offered with a smile, a simple, non-threatening smile. "Don't worry, I didn't poison it." She reassured with a chuckle when neither Sam or Dean attempted to leave their beds to accept the coffee.
"How'd you get in here?" Dean asked as he still aimed his gun at Lucifer.
"I can get anything I want, Agent Angus. Or should I call you, Winchester?" Lucifer asked with a tilt of her head as Dean and Sam stiffened up. "Sam and Dean Winchester, my demons chatter about you two quite a lot. It never really was worth listening to, until now anyways." She said with a shrug as she picked up her cup and took a sip from it.
"So, then you know what we do to your demons?" Sam asked cautiously as he stood up from his bed, his eyes never leaving Lucifer.
"Yes yes I'm well aware of the exorcisms and the stabbings with that fancy little knife of yours. As well as your, other method you used for a short while not too long ago Sam." Lucifer said with a dismissive wave as that really didn't help either brother relax, especially Sam.
"And you don't care that we did that?" Dean asked, finding it highly unbelievable that Lucifer didn't care.
"I couldn't give a rats ass about that, they got what was coming to them. Only certain demons are aloud out of hell, and they weren't them." Lucifer explained as she relaxed back into her chair as much as could. "I suggest you drink your coffee, before it gets cold boys." She said as Sam slowly walked up to the table, taking one of the two cups much to Dean's shock as she smiles.
"And the demon's allowed out would be...?" Dean trailed off as he slowly lowered his gun and clicked on the safety, knowing it would be useless against Lucifer anyways.
"Why the crossroads demons and their hell hounds, of course. As well as Maze, they are the only ones allowed to leave hell. Those are my rules." Lucifer said, her tone a dead serious one as she spoke about this. "Though it seems in my absence they have forgotten these rules." She said as she drummed her nails against the side of her coffee cup.
"Then go back." Dean said but it sounded more like an order.
"No, I like it here too much." Lucifer stated with a smirk, much to Dean's annoyance.
"You didn't come here just to talk to us about demons, did you?" Sam asked, having gotten the inkling that that was the case.
"No I did not. I came to talk to you about the, other me." Lucifer admitted, and Sam could tell this was something she didn't like talking about.
"You weren't so keen on talking about it yesterday." Dean said as he slowly approached and took the last coffee cup. Deeming it safe due to the fact that Sam hadn't had any negative reactions to the coffee.
"Things have changed since yesterday." Lucifer said cryptically, which did not sit well with the two brothers.
"Like what?" The brother's asked at the same time, obviously they both felt the need to get answers.
"Like the fact that this is just as much of a problem for me as it is for you." Lucifer said as Sam and Dean both shared a look.
"And how is it your problem if he, is supposedly you?" Sam asked, it didn't make sense for a supposed Lucifer to be a problem for the real Lucifer.
When Lucifer said nothing Sam frowned a bit. It was like she was hesitant, or perhaps she was nervous to tell them what was going on. This certainly was odd behavior for the Devil, after all wasn't she supposed to be evil incarnate? Yet right now she seemed like the exact opposite of that, and the brothers could see that. Even now as she finished her coffee and set the cup aside, Lucifer just seemed like a girl trying to live her best life. It was surreal honestly, two hunters like themselves just sitting in the room with the Devil. None of them seem to have the intention to try and kill the other. It felt, nice, having a moment to themselves where they didn't have to worry about the impending doom. Lucifer suddenly standing from her seat did make Dean tense, only to half relax when she pulled out a cigarette and snagged his lighter from his jacket pocket. Which lay thrown across the chair next to her. It was honestly laughable, the Devil herself doing something as human as lighting a cigarette.
"Because once he's had his fun with you lot and all demon and human kind who do you think he'll set his sights on next?" Lucifer asked curiously whilst letting out a puff of smoke, her cigarette held delicately between her fingers as she tossed Dean's lighter back to him. Which he easily caught without saying a word.
"He'll set his sights on you, the original Lucifer. To, snuff you out, because you're a threat to him." Sam deduced as he had realized what Lucifer had been hinting at right away.
"Very good." Lucifer praised, glad to see that the taller Winchester was living up to his reputation. "In that, me and him are a lot alike." She stated as she began to glance around the room slightly as she smoked, despite it probably being against the motel's rules.
"So what you're here for, protection?" Dean asked, finding that laughable given who they were talking to.
"No, I'm here to make you boys an offer. One I'm certain you won't refuse." Lucifer declared, which left Sam feeling curious whilst Dean didn't like how confident she sounded.
"And what if we do refuse your offer? That is if we even let you tell us about it." Dean said as he set aside his half drank coffee in favor of crossing his arms.
"You can try, I do like a good challenge." Lucifer said with a small grin as she looked at the two brothers. "Come now Dean, what's the harm in hearing me out?" She asked as she had her elbow resting atop one crossed arm as she smoked.
"What's your offer, Lucifer?" Sam asked, cutting Dean off before he had the chance to tell Lucifer off.
"It's one that benefits all of us, Sam." Lucifer stated, picking up one of Dean's beer cans, shaking it slightly to test if it was empty as she spoke. "The demon grape vine spoke of your attempt to kill the other me, with the Colt. But now you know that doesn't work on him. So here's my offer, I help you get rid of him, and in return I get a free pass." She explained as she stuck her cigarette butt in the can when she found it was empty, setting the can aside.
"A free pass?" Both brothers asked in unison, having their own idea of what Lucifer meant but they wanted to be sure.
"A free pass to stay here, on earth." Lucifer clarified as she lightly sat on the edge of the table. "I get to continue my life of fleeting fancies, booze, and sex. Undisturbed by hunters." She said as both Winchester's seemed a bit skeptical. "No soul selling required, just good old fashioned quid pro quo." Lucifer reassured, after all what possible use would she have for two souls?
"..." Neither Sam or Dean said anything, but they did seem to be mulling the deal over in their minds.
"I can see you two need to think it over and talk amongst yourselves." Lucifer said as she grabbed her coffee cup and stood up straight. "You know where to find me, come time to give your answers." She said as she approached the motel room door and opened it, casting a glance over her shoulder at the brothers before she left.
"We're not going to accept that deal, are we Sam?" Dean asked when the sound of a car driving away let them know Lucifer was truly gone. "Sam?" He called out when Sam didn't agree with him right away.
"...Maybe we should, Dean." Sam said after a moment of silence, much to Dean's shock.
"You can't be serious, Sam." Dean said, utter disbelief in his voice as Sam looked at him.
"Dean I'm just trying to look at this with an open mind." Sam said as he ran his fingers through his hair slightly. "You heard the deal, she wants to help us and in return hunters just have to leave her alone. That's a better deal than we've ever gotten before." He pointed out, seeing as their previous experiences with deals was total shit.
"She's the Devil, Sam!" Dean snapped, pacing a bit by now as his chest heaved with each deep, angry breath he took. "Evil incarnate, Queen of the Damned, any of this ringing a bell?" He asked, looking at Sam as if he had lost his mind!
"But she's not the enemy here, Dean!" Sam explained, huffing slightly as he hadn't wanted this to turn into an argument. "In case you forgot, our enemy is the one that wants to wear me as a skin suit and start the end of the world." He said, bringing Dean's attention back to the real problem at hand.
"So what, we're gonna shack up with one Lucifer to take down the other? Is that what you're suggesting?" Dean asked, calming down but still not seeming that happy about all of this.
"It's looking that way, Dean. Because if there is a chance that we can stop him without anymore bloodshed then we need to take the chance." Sam said, and deep down Dean had to admit that his brother had a good point.
"And if she double crosses us?" Dean asked, arching an eyebrow as he voiced his main concern.
"Then we cross that bridge if we come to it, Dean." Sam said with a small shrug, not knowing what else to say.
"Fine..." Dean relented with a sigh and a shake of his head. "But we'll approach her on even turf." He stated as he snatched up his jacket and the Impala keys.
"What?" Sam asked, confused as to what Dean meant by even turf.
"Holy oil and a summoning spell." Dean revealed as Sam blinked in shock. "And with this." He paused and shook the beer can containing Lucifer's cigarette butt for emphasis. "We have the means to summon her right to us, rather than the other one." Dean finished as he headed to the door, leaving his brother no choice but to follow him.
Hunting down the rest of the ingredients in Los Angeles proved to be tougher than Sam and Dean expected, in fact it took hours. There were barely any hunters based in LA and those that were seemed a bit apprehensive to give them the ingredients they needed. In the end they got everything they needed though and headed to an empty warehouse as night fell upon the city. Sam busied himself with getting the summoning spell ready whilst Dean poured out a sort of large circle of holy oil. The taller Winchester waited till his brother finished the circle of holy oil before he began chanting. Adding the required amount of each ingredient before adding the cigarette but last. The lighting of the match and tossing it in the bowl was the last ingredient, the contents catching flame easily. A plume of smoke erupting from the bowl as a female figure appeared with her back towards them.
Upon turning she revealed herself to be Lucifer, the raven haired beauty looking at the brothers with a raised eyebrow. Now the archangel known as the Devil didn't take too kindly to being summoned all of a sudden. She had been right in the middle of punishing Delilah's killer after all. Now the bastard would just be going to jail, courtesy of that Detective Dan that had burst in before she was summoned. Oh well, he'll get what's coming to him once he keels over and is sent down to Hell. As Lucifer stood there silently Sam and Dean subtly glanced between here and the ring of holy oil. There wasn't much lighting in this warehouse, and thankfully whatever light they had wasn't reflecting off the oil. So long as Lucifer steps inside the ring rather than in the oil this crazy plan of Dean's will work.
"When I said you knew where to find me, this is not what I meant." Lucifer said as she approached the brothers, mere steps away from stepping within the ring of holy oil.
"Well, we just thought we'd meet on neutral turf." Sam said, thinking that sounded better than even turf had.
"Really, and that's why we're in a warehouse?" Lucifer asked as she finally set foot inside the ring of holy oil.
"That, and for this." Dean stated as he lit a disposable lighter and dropped it into the holy oil, it catching fire immediately.
"Holy fire, did an angel teach you boys this trick?" Lucifer asked as she turned in a slow circle to look at all parts of the fire, more curious than mad. "Which one was it, Amenadiel? Uriel?" She asked, more curious than ever as to which of her brothers taught this to the hunters.
"No, Castiel." Sam revealed before Dean had the chance to even stop him.
"Oh? Never knew Castiel had the stones to do something like this." Lucifer said, the fire reflecting off her doe brown eyes as she looked at the hunters. "Seems you two have got me in a bind, for the moment." She said, her British accent even and unrevealing of what she truly felt.
"The fire's just a precaution, princess. We'll let you out once this is all sorted out." Dean explained as Lucifer gave him a look, daring him to call her princess again.
"My brother is... worried, that you will double cross us. So, we just want to make sure we're all on the same page before we make this deal." Sam explained, one Lucifer hating them was bad enough, he didn't want two of them.
"So my reassurance wasn't enough? Oh Dean, that hurts, that hurts me right here." Lucifer said with a pout as she placed a hand over her heart.
"Never can be too careful." Dean stated, having the sneaking suspicion that Lucifer was being sarcastic. "Especially when dealing with the Devil." He added as she let out a small huff of laughter in response.
"I have no intention of double crossing you boys. After all, we are dealing with a common enemy." Lucifer said, and she had hoped that would've been enough for them but it wasn't. "But if you are so concerned about me double crossing you... Then I can make it so none of us double cross one another." She offered, glancing between the two boys as she waited for a response.
"How would you do that?" Sam asked, as he was the first to speak up out of the two Winchester's.
"Why tell when I can show?" Lucifer asked cryptically, much to Dean's annoyance. "That is, if you let me out first." She said as she glanced at the ring of fire that still surrounded her.
For a moment all was silent, neither Sam or Dean said a word as Lucifer watched them closely. The raven haired female smiling when the eldest Winchester sighed in defeat, after all she had been right. There had been no way these hunters could turn down her deal. Dean said nothing as he gave Sam a "this better not come back to bite us in the ass" look as he approached the nearby wall. Keeping his eyes trained on Lucifer he flicked open the fire alarm box and pulled the lever. Water raining down from the sprinkler systems immediately, it making quick work of dousing the holy fire. Whilst also completely drenching the two hunters and the no longer trapped Devil. Which made the two with the longest hair, those being Sam and Lucifer, look like drowned rats. And as the water finally stopped the female of the small group huffed and began wringing water out of part of her shirt. Sam watching on apologetically whilst Dean didn't really care as he came to stand next to his brother.
"You couldn't have found a less, wet, alternative to putting out the flames?" Lucifer asked as she was now wringing water out of her hair.
"No." Dean stated simply, not bothered by the water one bit as Lucifer flicked her now less wet hair over her shoulder.
"Nevertheless, I mentioned the inability for us to double cross one another and I will show it to you." Lucifer said, stepping out of her red heels, picking them up and tipping them over to drain the water out of them. "Just give me your hands." She stated after putting her heels back on.
"Why?" The brother's asked in unison as Sam pushed some of his wet hair out of his face.
"I can't show you if you don't give me your hands." Lucifer explained as she held out her hands to both boys. "So give me, your hands." She said, looking like she was about ready to snatch up their hands if they didn't listen.
Slowly Sam and Dean reached out and clasped a hand with Lucifer's outstretched hands. Both of them noticed how small and soft her hands were compared to their hands. Neither brother could focus on this for long, hearing Lucifer mutter something beneath her breath as her eyes glowed red. Sam and Dean soon felt power traveling from her hands up their arms to their chests. The two hunters soon let out grunts of pain as their chests began to burn, right where their tattoos resided. At feeling the pain Sam and Dean both tried to free their hands and break the connection, but Lucifer wouldn't let them. Her grip wasn't bone crushing but it was tight enough to make it so the connection stayed intact. Then as the chanting finished a gust of wind swept through the warehouse, drying them all in the process as whatever Lucifer did was complete. Releasing their hands as her eyes stopped glowing, the boys immediately pulled down the collars of their shirts to check their tattoos.
What happened before their eyes shocked them both. Much like flames eating away at paper intricate angel wings burnt into view as the pain faded. Looking much like a tattoo rather than a burn the wings sprouted forth from the anti-possession tattoo. Looking much light an angelic shield they rested on either side of the symbol, the wings not even extended by the looks of it. Tentatively Sam and Dean both touched the wings that were now added to the tattoos. Having thought they would feel heat or possibly a burn scar, but all they felt was their own skin. Looking back to Lucifer they found her lifting up her shirt enough for them to see her rib cage. The symbol, wings and all, burning its way onto her ribs just below her bra band before their eyes. It marking her otherwise seemingly perfect skin on the same side of her body that they have their symbols on. And all through this she never broke eye contact with the two hunters.
"You are now bound to me, as I am to you. Unable to cause harm of any kind unto one another. This includes harm as a result of double crossing." Lucifer said as she smoothed out her shirt, hiding her ribs from view once again. "And the wings on your symbols, as well as my own symbol, will stay there. Until such time as the deal is complete." She explained as Sam and Dean slowly stopped inspecting their tattoos.
"And they still...?" Sam trailed off, but Lucifer knew what he was trying to ask her.
"The anti-possession qualities of the symbols are still intact." Lucifer reassured, both brothers seeming to be glad to hear that.
"And how do we know it really works?" Dean asked, still skeptical about the whole thing.
"Well, you could always try and shoot me with that gun of yours. Or I could try and shoot you." Lucifer offered and Dean seemed very tempted to take her up on that offer.
"We'll uh, we'll just take your word for it." Sam said quickly before his brother had a chance to even draw his gun.
"Good, then you can give me a ride home." Lucifer stated as she walked past the boys and out of the warehouse.
"A ride? Why would the Devil need a ride?" Dean asked, brow furrowed in confusion, wasn't Lucifer all powerful like Michael?
"Maybe that binding spell took a lot out of her?" Sam suggested with a shrug as he slowly followed after Lucifer.
"Nice car. The 60s, wonderful times those were." Lucifer said when she noticed the 67 Impala, the only car for miles.
Dean said nothing, but he couldn't hide the small proud smile that came to his face at Lucifer's comment about his car. The initial drive back to Lux had been silent. With Sam and Dean in the front and Lucifer in the back with her legs stretched out across the seats. For a bit it didn't seem like the taller Winchester's suggestion that the spell took a lot out of the archangel known as the Devil didn't seem true. That is until they took one glance at Lucifer and saw that she looked a bit drained. She didn't give them much more than a nod in thanks when Dean pulled up at Lux as she climbed out of the car. Walking inside and heading upstairs as the Impala left with the boys inside of it. The next day Sam and Dean thought that they would be leaving on their own, not exactly expecting what they saw.
Lucifer stood leaning against the drivers side of the Impala, smoking a cigarette. Now both brothers were focusing on two different things. Dean was focusing on the fact that she was leaning against his car with her cigarette dangerously close to the paint job. Whilst Sam noticed how she looked so different in her black skinny jeans, black crop top, red leather jacket, and black boots. Her long wavy hair pulled neatly into a ponytail and some strands had been left free to frame her face perfectly. Looking so beautiful yet dangerous at the same time, and the brothers would be lying if they said it didn't do things to them. Upon seeing them Lucifer's lips curled with a smirk at their shocked expressions. Taking the last drag of her cigarette before dropping the butt, stamping it out as she crossed her arms. There was just something about catching the two hunters off guard that was just oh so, satisfying to her.
"Hello boys, thought you'd be leaving without me?" Lucifer asked curiously whilst twirling the end of her ponytail around her pointer finger.
"Kinda." Dean stated, not liking being caught off guard like this.
"I mean you could've tried. But it would've been very difficult to get inside your Impala without these." Lucifer said as she started seemingly absentmindedly tossing something in the air before catching it in her palm, Dean's keys.
"How did you get those?!" Dean exclaimed as he patted himself down in search of those same keys.
"I already told you, I can get whatever I want. Including a spare key to that room you boys were in." Lucifer explained causing Dean's jaw to drop slightly in shock. "Close your mouth darling or you'll catch flies." She stated, Sam snickering as his brother quickly snapped his mouth shut. "Now, shall we go? My bags are already in the trunk." Lucifer said, tossing the keys to Dean as she opened the backseat and climbed in.
"Bags? As in, plural?" Dean asked Sam quietly, earning a shrug from his brother.
Dean got his answer though when he opened the trunk so him and Sam could put their things in. Immediately noticing the high quality medium red leather duffel bag, a red leather shoe bag, and a red leather makeup bag. That wasn't necessarily a lot but it still made Dean grumble as he haphazardly threw his own bag inside. Soon stalking over to the driver's door, getting in and leaving Sam to shut the trunk. The young brunette could already tell that things were going to be eventful from now on. And Sam was proven right as he heard Dean yell "No smoking in my car!" as he shut the trunk. Chuckling slightly to himself when Lucifer yelled back "Then why the bloody fuck do you have ashtray's in the doors if I can't smoke in the car?!". Yup, things were already being eventful.
