A life lesson
A/N:-Thank you for reviews and onto the last chapter. Enjoy.
3 years later
A lot of things can happen in three years, then again nothing could change. Shizuo had tried to have a normal life. He had left school and got a job, all of which lasted less than a month. It seemed his little brother was serious about taking him. At first no one had known about his strength, but when you have people after you, it was hard to hold back.
He didn't really have a stable life, he hadn't seen anyone from school, or his parents, not even Izaya. As far as he knew they were all getting on happily with their lives. At least he hoped that was the case. He either had to quit his job or he was fired, Shizuo had to constantly move apartments as well, to the point he was debating whether to book into a hotel every night instead.
He had gone through lots of different jobs, fast food joints, a bartender, a lollipop man, a shop assistant, but none of them he kept. Which led him to his current job, working in a library. Anyone who knew him would laugh at him being in such a quiet place, but not once had he lost his temper. "Shizuo-san, can you put the returns back?"
Smiling at his boss, the blond took all of the books returning them to the correct sections. It was peaceful and calming, seeing everyone at the tables, studying hard. It brought back memories of him and Izaya in Tom's office. Automatically his hand rose to his chest, feeling a small bump underneath his shirt, where his ring was. He had never taken it off. It was the only comfort in the game of cat and mouse he was stuck in.
"Um, excuse me. I'm looking for a book on science." Looking down at the child, he smiled making his way through the shelves. "Anything in particular?" The girl smiled up at him, seeing that he wasn't as scary as he seemed. "The human body." Reaching up, he took down three books, handing them over. "Thank you." He watched her as she ran over to one of the tables.
"Good work today." Shizuo smiled, leaving through the sliding doors. Removing his cigarettes from his pocket, he froze looking around. Ah. He was being watched again. Kasuka had hired private detectives to keep track of him. Lighting up his cigarette, he began walking through the crowds trying to lose them. At least they wouldn't try and kidnap him, not yet anyway.
When he was pretty sure he had lost them, he double backed to his apartment, quickly slipping inside and closing the doors. Sliding the three bolts across, he backed away from the door, finding somewhere on the floor to sit. His apartment was empty, he didn't have any furniture, since it was a hassle to move, not once had he managed to call anything home.
Stripping off, he dropped his shirt and jeans into a wash basket, heading for the shower. He had learned to live by a set of rules and they had so far kept him safe at out of Kasuka's clutches. Never give out his name unless he absolutely needed to. Never give out his address. Never get attached to someone, they would only get hurt. Never have a job longer than three months, anything after that was risky.
Never drink or eat anything from food outlets or restaurants. Never stay out after dark. Don't buy anything that wasn't easy to pack. Never eat of drink from something that had already been opened. Always check for holes in the top of bottles. The list went on and on, new things were added every time he made a mistake and fell for one of his little brother's tricks. Getting dressed in his pyjamas, he made his way to the kitchen, opening the fridge. Taking out the first packet, he saw that it was open, throwing it straight in the bin along with the opened carton of milk. He would need to go shopping again.
Settling for a pudding cup, he ate quickly, climbing into his futon, curling up into a ball, he closed his eyes, clutching to the ring around his neck. He knew that like every night before he wouldn't get a lot of sleep. He jumped at every sound, he wasn't safe enough to fall into a deep sleep.
In the morning, he would shower, get dressed, find something unopened in the fridge and leave the apartment, making sure he locked the door behind him. No matter where he went, he couldn't escape how big his little brother had become. He could hear the fans screaming around him, over a new film or interview. Looking up he could see his brother staring down at him from a billboard, holding a new drink.
Glancing over to where the screams were coming from, he could see a tower of small screens, his brother sitting in a comfy chair as he was being interviewed. "Yuuhei Hanejima, is there anyone you want to thank for your success?" He had never seen his brother so animated, the blank expression was gone. "Yes, my older brother." Shizuo turned away, walking quickly. Today was going to be a bad day.
Signing in, he started putting the books away. Maybe today, tomorrow or by the end of the week, he would be forced to leave. "Shizuo-san, do you want a drink?" Shaking his head, he smiled apologetically. "No thank you." He knew that she meant no harm, but he couldn't risk it. The day passed by normally, except for the two sitting at the tables pretending to read, while they watched him.
When it came to the time he had to leave, he knew exactly what would be waiting for him. Not even his crazed bother was stupid enough to try anything during in daylight. Which is why he knew he wouldn't be allowed to leave. He spun around as he heard the crash, the shelving had been knocked down, books spilled onto the floor. "Shizuo-san, can I ask you to stay and help?" He couldn't bring himself to say no.
So when he finally did step outside into the cold night air, it was dark. That was a bad sign to start with. He noticed the black unmarked van, along with the figures moving to surround him. "Shizuo Heiwajima, you'll have to come with us." They didn't get close to him, lashing out, he kept them at a distance. Just like before and the time before that they were there to take him to Kasuka.
He was doing well, especially when one of them pulled out a gun. From the corner of his eye, he thought he saw something, that familiar smell. Izaya? His heart soared at the thought, but why would he be here? His concentration snapped momentarily, allowing one of them to get close. Shit. He felt the needle enter his skin. Damn it. His eye lids dropped and he knew he would be asleep in seconds. "Target secure." He had fucked up.
The world slipped as he tipped forward, held up by two sets of arms. Through blurred eyes he could see the van doors open, as he was carried closer. Shit. "Excuse me. Where do you think you're taking Shizu-chan?" He really was out of it, he was hearing Izaya's voice. He heard a whistle and a scream, then he was falling, collapsing onto the concrete.
"...chan! Shizu-chan! Wake up." His head felt like it had blocked a hammer. Blinking his eyes open, he found himself staring up into crimson eyes. The flea hadn't changed at all, though there was something about him that had. "...Iz-aya?" How long had he been out? "We need to get out of here, where do you live?" His muscles were useless, as he was helped up. "Shizu-chan! Tell me where you live." Opening his mouth, the words spilled from his lips.
He briefly remembered being helped into a car and moving, then being lead to his door, A hand rummaging in his pocket. The door swung open and immediately he was wide awake, even if his body wasn't. Inside the door, were two large boxes, that weren't there when he left. His eyes flicked up, seeing the expensive furniture that was now, placed in his apartment. "...No! We need to leave."
The door was already closed, Izaya leading him to the sofa. "Get some rest protozoan." No, he couldn't. Kasuka had already sent someone here. Izaya's fingers moved through his hair, calming him down. His eyes slipped shut. Why was he back? That night he slept better than he had in three years, whether it was down to the drug in his system or Izaya he didn't know.
The next morning he opened his eyes, staring up at Izaya. So it wasn't a dream. Those crimson eyes were shut and he knew that Izaya had fallen asleep. Getting up, he quickly hurried to grab his suitcase and began shoving his things inside, not looking at the bed that sat in the middle of the room. "Where are you going? Shzu-chan."
The blond looked up seeing Izaya in the doorway. "To a new apartment. He knows where I am." A hand rested on his own. "That's why I'm here. I came to get you protozoan." Shizuo shook his head, brushing the hand away. "No. Go away." Izaya grinned. "No. Its been three years, Shizu-chan. I'm not waiting any longer."
He knew he would always be weak around Izaya. Shizuo found himself falling back onto the new bed. "Stop, there's probably a camera." But he didn't want him to stop, now that Izaya was here again, he didn't want to let him go. "Good. I'll show Kasuka-kun, how good I can make you feel." The blond clenched his hands in the awful jacket the flea was wearing, the faux fur tickling his face. "Trust me, Shizu-chan."
He did. He trusted him with everything, Izaya would probably take everything anyway. "He won't get near you again. I haven't spent the past three years doing nothing." Shizuo could see the conviction in the crimson eyes that seemed to ravish him with their lust. "...R-really?" Izaya didn't blink. "T-then I can love you?" The flea laughed, hooking a finger underneath his collar, pulling the chain into view. "You always have."
Shizuo felt his face flush. Not only was there the ring, but a small button had been threaded on as well. "Yeah." His legs spread to either side, allowing Izaya to move into the space he had created. Within seconds, he was completely naked, watching the raven remove his coat. "Why do you have such a fluffy jacket?"
"Why not. It suits me, doesn't it." Shizuo laughed, the happiest sound he had made in a long time. "Makes you look like a girl. You didn't grow up much eith-ah!" His body jolted as he was palmed. Damn, it had been a long time. There had been no one after Izaya. "What can I say, I'm forever young. Besides the height doesn't really make a difference. I can still have you whimpering underneath me."
Now that Izaya was naked as well, he could see a few scars, along with a finely toned body. He had changed, there was something darker lurking in those eyes, something dangerous. "What did you do?" Soft lips pressed insistently against his own. "Later." Yeah, everything else could wait, especially when those hands ghosted along his side, bucking up, he tried to create friction between them. He arched into the touches, Izaya nibbling his lower lip, before diving inside his mouth, tasting every inch of him. "Ah! Nn-shit." He let out a moan, along with a startled cry as he felt a stickiness between them. He had cum from a kiss. "Shit. Don't you dare laugh."
"I wouldn't. It shows how much you missed me." Damn it. Izaya moved down his jaw, biting and sucking, peppering him with small marks that would take a while to vanish. Moving his head, he allowed access to the column of his throat. Closing his eyes, he gave into the pleasure. No one had tried to kill him yet, so maybe Kasuka didn't know what they were doing. "Stop thinking, Shizu-chan."
The choice was taken away from him, that sinful tongue moving lower, fingers tweaking his nipples, every movement rubbing their arousals together. "Hurry." He needed him inside. He knew his dick was already leaking pre-cum, just being near Izaya made him hard. His hole twitched as soon as he was touched. "Impatient? Shizu-chan." now wasn't the time to tease him. "So am I."
There was a click of a cap and then three lubricated fingers were thrust into him. "Sorry, I need to be inside you." He nodded that it was okay, letting Izaya quickly stretch him. "Izaya!" As quickly as they entered them, they were removed. "It still might hurt." The blond shook his head. "Don't care." His legs were lifted and placed over Izaya's shoulders, the flea shifting his hips and sheathing his cock inside him. "At least that part of you grew up."
"Jealous? Shizu-chan. I can pleasure you more." Lifting his arms, he looped them around his lover's neck. He didn't know what their relationship was. "Ready?" There was a steady burning moving along his lower back, his own fault. "Fuck! Move." Right now he couldn't find it in him to care about anything. Izaya slammed into his prostate, sending ripples of pleasure through him. He had no home, he had no job. Tomorrow was the beginning of another three months starting again, but right now Izaya was here and that was all that mattered.
Rocking his hips, he met Izaya half way each time, increasing the pleasure between them. Somehow they ended up further onto the bed, his head touching the expensive headboard. "Shizu-chan!" He loved how Izaya whispered his name in complete bliss. Arching his back, he gasped as the flea increased his pace, abusing that little sweet spot, with perfect accuracy. "Ahn! I-Izaya! More!" He didn't care that he was moaning like a whore, that his guard was down for the first time in three years.
If anything he was lucky he hadn't cum as soon as Izaya had entered him. "Shizu-chan, cum for me." One touch, that was it. He felt himself explode, making a mess over the hand that had barely touched him. His eyes rolled back, collapsing back. "So tight." Strong fingers dug into his hips, as Izaya's movements became erratic, going deeper and faster. "Shizu-chan." His inner walls were covered in his lover's seed, dribbling down his ass, when the flea pulled out of his constricting warmth.
Shizuo knew he could close his eyes, allow himself to fall deeper into the illusion, but he couldn't afford to. Forcing his eyes to stay open, he rolled off of the bed, a pain in his lower back. "Shizu-chan?" Izaya looked like he was ready for another round. "Shower. We need to leave." It would be stupid to stay. The first time he had ignored it, he had ended up waking up to three men hovering over the bed, a cloth pressed against his mouth. He had managed to escape, before collapsing in an abandoned warehouse. "I'll join you."
After his...shower, he got dressed, seeing that it was still dark outside. Grabbing his suitcase from earlier, he finished packing his stuff away. Izaya was sitting on the bed watching him. "So you didn't buy any of this?" Shaking his head, he moved around the room seeing if there was anything he had forgotten. "Kasuka brought it. He knows where I live. "
"And the boxes?" Shizuo felt his face flush in embarrassment and disgust. "Don't touch them!" Not a lot changed in three years, Izaya still didn't listen to him. "Now I'm curious." Before he could stop him, he heard the tear of cardboard. "Ne, Shizu-chan. We could use some of these." Picking his suitcase up, he carried it into the living room. "Don't think about it."
He had learnt a long time ago, not to open anything Kasuka sent him. Glancing up, he looked at the black and purple maid uniform that was held up. The flea shrugged opening the other box, holding up the first packaged vibrator. "Hm? What about these then? These are high quality." Snatching the item out of Izaya's hand and throwing it to the floor, he dragged him from the apartment, slamming the door. "Don't touch anything."
"Fine. I have my own anyway." He was not getting involved with that conversation. "Where are you planning on going?" Shizuo shrugged, he hadn't thought that far ahead. "You don't know. Do you? I said before I came to get you. Follow me." At a loss what to do, he followed after the flea. Glancing around he could see someone watching him. "Izaya. You should-"
He was pulled into a cab, before he could finish that sentence. The flea was giving directions to the driver. They didn't stop until they reached the address in Shinjuku. "Shizu-chan, we're here." With no other choice, he climbed out, staring up at a large apartment complex. The cab drove away, leaving him and Izaya alone.
"Where are we?" Crimson eyes gleamed. "My home of course. I own this building." His eyes widened, watching Izaya type numbers into a small pad. The doors slid open. "Come on." Izaya owned the building? Shizuo was led to the top floor, once again there was a small pad, another set of doors opening. The apartment was bigger than any of his. The room had a warm feel to it. A television, a coffee table, a comfy sofa. There was a large window, looking over Shinjuku, even the carpet had a fluffy feel to it.
"Like it? I had you in mind when I decorated, since you'll be living here with me." Shaking his head, he turned around, finding Izaya staring up at him. Somehow he felt like the smaller one. "Don't say no. It took a lot to get here. Kasuka-kun won't get past the entrance." Shizuo sighed. Izaya couldn't know that. "Wha-" A finger brushed over his lips, silencing him. "I'm an informant, with a lot of powerful acquaintances. It doesn't matter how big your brother gets. He can't touch me and now he can't touch you."
Could he really believe that? The way Izaya carried himself he made it look like he was a god. "Oh, one more thing. Welcome home, Shizu-chan." His breath hitched, rubbing at his damp eyes. "Too much for you? You haven't seen the bedroom yet." He could feel the tears run freely down his face. "I forgot to mention Dotachin lives on the floor below us, he's not too happy about your disappearance. Are you listening?" Shit, he was a mess. "...Yeah. I'm listening."
His legs wobbled slightly as he dropped the suitcase moving to the sofa. Izaya joined him, wiping away his falling tears. Quick fingers reached around his neck, undoing the chain, the ring was caught before it slid off and placed on his finger. "This goes back where it belongs. You're mine, Shizu-chan." The blond stared down at it, Izaya snuggled happily against him. Yeah, he could say it. His heart was screaming in joy as all of his worries seemed to evaporate, somehow Izaya had fixed it all. He was home.
End.
