It was lying in bed with Edward, the morning sun making his skin faintly sparkle, after a night of passionate love making that Jacob decided to broach the subject that had been bothering him all day.

"Edward?"
"Yes Jacob?"
"How do you feel about having another go at getting married?"
Edward brang his eyebrows together in a small frown "Where is this coming from?" He said.
Jacob adverted his gaze, fiddling with the blanket. Composing a tightly gaurded expression before he turned back again. "Listen, I'm going to tell you truthfully this time, if we get married it'll give us a better chance at defeating the Volturi, the whole pack would be forced to get behind us and fight. The elders would be unable to say anything against you, the pack would be forced to accept you as one of their own, whether they like it or not."
"Jacob this is no foundation for a marriage." Edward started to say but stopped himself at the last second as he saw the look of dread, and fear of rejection in Jacob's eyes. Instead he decided to consider the benifits it would bring them both, after all it was him who originally wanted to marry Jacob, before any of this ever happened.
"Okay Jacob." he said "If this is what you want we should get married."
"Really?" Said Jacob with a hint of surprise.
Edward just lent in and kissed him, till Jacob was breathless and panting, all to eager to continue last nights activities.

With no time left to waste the ceremony was scheduled for later that week. A polar opposite to last times failed event. Instead of the extravagance they chose to go for the minimal. Gathering together what they could with a few days notice; limiting guests to close family, and disappointing many people on the way, but after what happened last time Jacob was hesitant to invite too many people. They held the ceremony in the field in the middle of the woods, where Edward and Jacob had spent much time together, where they made their first real connection after the imprint. Jacob and Edward walked down the isle together hand in hand as Abigal threw rose petals in front of them. Reaching the alter they pronounced their vowels to each other. A promise of unity and love. A quilatine elder looked on from the shadows, tearing up slightly. Like a whirlwind the ceremony was over before anyone could gather their thoughts and it was time to move on to the reception; full of hugs and belated congratulations from many wolves, till neither Jacob or Edward could remember who had congratulated them and who hadn't. Then in a blink the celebrations were over and it was time to go home.

"You don't regret it do you?" Asked Jacob on the doorstep of their home, looking to the ground and shuffling his feat nervously.
Edward grabbed Jacobs hand to still him and tilted his head up to look at him.
"Out of the many things I regret in my life this is not one of them. How could I when I am betrothed to someone as amazing as you, handsome, loving, loyal and strong." He said kissing Jacob as each loving endearment escaped from his lips. Until Jacob could stand it no longer and grabbed him by the shirt to bring him in and properly kiss him, pressing himself as close as humanly possible to Edward, breaking apart only to catch his breathe as things got a little bit too heated.
"My love, my husband, into the house before the neighbours start talking."
"Let them talk" said Jacob kissing Edward again, before sighing and dragging Edward into the house, slamming the door behind them as Jacob brought Edward into a hungry passionate kiss. As Edward deepened the kiss, slowly the stress of the past week started draining away. As they forgot their problems for a moment, the outside world faded away, to their was nothing other than the two lovers caught in the grip of passion and loving desire.

Later lovingly drinking in a sleeping Jacob, sweat drenched, and content, smiling ever so slightly in his sleep, Edward once again remembered why he was still fighting. He was fighting for moments like this. Mornings where Jacob slept in, smiling at nothing in particular, but happy dreams that filled his sleeping mind. Edward watching protectively by his side, observing his dreams, trying to fend off his bad ones. The world completely still and silent for just a little while. A perfect moment, a paradise on earth carved out just for the two of them. Kissing Jacob gently on the side of his mouth as he settled down in the pillow, he thought maybe everything was going to be okay, just this once, just for a little while.
