Yoda and Ryla came out of the trees to see a ship, just as Ida had promised. Yoda was disappointed to find it was barely spaceworthy. It was a Wyndham Systems small fighter. Unfortunately two of it's three laser cannons were broken. The ship barely fit two so it would be a tight fit. Plus the inside of the ship was in disarray. It was rather unpromising to Yoda.
"Can you fly it?" Yoda asked Ryla.
"I think so, I've never flown a ship before but I was always good when we trained for it at school and the controls seem pretty simple," she responded.
"Good," said Yoda.
The two were silent for a moment. "Yoda, I'm sorry about your dad," said Ryla.
"To talk about it I do not want," Yoda said bitterly.
"Massacred our village has been. Dead all our loved ones are," said Yoda verging on tears.
"I cared about people too. Your mother was practically my mother too when she worked at the orphanage," Ryla said.
Now she too was on the verge of tears.
"All each other has left we are," said Yoda.
Ryla bent down and hugged Yoda. After a moment they broke away.
"We need to go now. It's only a matter of time before the Gora start searching for us," said Ryla.
"Understand I do," Yoda responded.
The Gora thought Yoda. Earlier in the day the name meant nothing to him, but now the very word filled him with disgust and hatred.
Yoda climbed into the co-pilot's seat and Ryla the pilot's. Ryla pulled back a lever and they were off, rising until they were in the abyss of space. Yoda let out a breath of relief.
"Didn't I tell you I could fly," said Ryla, her trademark swagger returned.
"To where are we going," Yoda inquired.
"I was thinking if I could find the hyperdrive engine on this junk pile, that we could go to Coruscant," said Ryla.
"Coruscant," thought Yoda aloud.
They were going to the biggest city planet of the galaxy. It was something that Yoda had trouble even imagining. Finally the exhaustion of the day took him and he fell asleep.
Meanwhile at the Jedi Temple in Coruscant, the Hysalrian Jedi Master N'kata Del Gormo was meditating in his quarters. Suddenly his four eyes snapped open. He slithered out the door to the Grandmaster's quarters. N'kata Del Gormo was a strange being. Like all Hysalrians he had four arms and resembled a giant blue worm.
The Grandmaster of the Jedi Order was a serious Chiss named Kel'in. He had blue skin with red eyes and greasy black hair. He was tall and intimidated most sentients with the exception of course of Master Del Gormo. At the moment he was meditating in a yoga position.
"Why have you come, Master. Finally chosen an apprentice?" asked Kel'in.
"No I had a vision," said Del Gormo.
"Tell me of this vision," said Kel'in, while still meditating.
"It was vague," said Del Gormo. "There were two beings I couldn't tell what species, but one of them shimmered with light a bit. But the other was covered in blinding light" Del Gormo finished.
"So," Kel'in inquired.
"Well I took it to mean that both are Force-sensitive but one is incredibly powerful," he explained.
"I see," said Kel'in blankly.
"Also I know where it was. A planet on the Outer Rim I've spent a lot of time on," said Del Gormo.
"Where?" asked the Chiss.
"Dagobah," Del Gormo answered.
For the first time the Grandmaster stopped meditating.
"Well then I guess you'd better got to Dagobah," he said bluntly.
Yoda woke up from his nap a couple hours later. He looked to see that the ship was still in normal space. Ryla was still flying the ship intensely.
"Well, are you making out?" asked Yoda.
"Pretty good, considering it's my first time," said Ryla. She yawned. "Getting tired though," she explained.
"Keep you awake I will," said Yoda. "Did you know what I'm named after?" he asked.
"I thought you were named after the planet," Ryla said.
"No, what I thought when I was young that is," Yoda explained. "Planet of peace, Yidal means so…"
"Yoda means one who is at peace," finished Ryla, translating ancient Oglied. "Smooth Yoda," she complimented.
Suddenly a huge projectile hit the ship, shaking it.
"Frag!" Ryla cursed. "We're in an asteroid storm," she exclaimed.
"What do we do?" Yoda asked.
"I'll try to maneuver through it," said Ryla
Yoda nodded. The ship took a few turns around asteroids, and avoided some close calls. After a couple minutes Yoda began to think they were going to make. Then the ship was hit again by a much bigger asteroid.
"We're losing power," said Ryla. "We're not gonna make it through," she said.
Yoda was starting to lose hope when something caught his.
"Ryla, a planet I see," he exclaimed.
Beneath them was a remote green planet. It was small enough that Yoda hadn't noticed it before. Ryla saw it too now.
"I have just enough power to make an emergency landing," said Ryla.
The ship veered downwards and descended upon the planet. The ship dropped quickly breaking through the atmosphere. The ship was barely flyable now.
"Brace yourself, cause this is gonna be one hell of a landing," said Ryla.
Yoda closed his eyes and the last thing he remembered was water overtaking the ship.
