AN: I was in a mood to write some cute fics recently so here is one more. This is my second fanfic and the first one with chapters, hope I didn't do so bad. Sorry if the chapters aren't frequent I just take a lot of time to write.

Small disclaimer. In this mild AU. Kawaki has been living with the Uzumaki family for about 3 or 4 weeks and living peacefully. There was no Ishiki or Jigen fight and Naruto still has Kurama. Other than that everything is mostly the same.

Chapter 1:

Hinata's concern

It was late. Everybody was getting ready for sleep in the Uzumaki household. Boruto washed the dishes while Kawaki carefully put them away.

-Goodnight, Boruto. Goodnight, Kawaki. Goodnight, Himawari.- Said Naruto through a tired yawn. It was peaceful. Everybody was asleep, except for Hinata. She kept turning in the bed thinking about something. Finally, she decided to bring it up.

- Naruto-kun? – Hinata called her husband, carefully checking if he was asleep.

- Hinata, we are both past 30 now. I think it's time to retire the kun part. – Naruto answered half asleep.

- You will always be Naruto-kun for me even if both of us are a hundred. – Hinata replied blushing. – I wanted to ask you something about Kawaki. – Hinata's voice became more serious.

- Sorry for springing him on you. I know it isn't easy just to adopt another kid on the spot like that, but I just couldn't bring myself to say no to him dattebayo! – Naruto was slowly waking up knowing this would be a long conversation.

- No. You misunderstood me, I love him and am really happy to have him here. I am just concerned about him feeling left out.

Naruto grunted, confused. – What do you mean?

- I mean, look at Hima and Boruto. Both of them have their own rooms and personal stuff. How long can Kawaki-kun sleep in your office on a leather couch? He has one coat, with the symbol of the organization that kept him captive on it! I just don't want him to think we care less about him you know.

Naruto sat up. He looked down and sighed. – When this house was built, we didn't count for a third kid did we? I mean we can always be him a coat and other stuff if he asks and I can even give him my office as a room and take my things somewhere else but where?

- We could move to the Hokage mansion. Sandaime used to live there why can't we?

- Because I took down the living quarters when making the new mission desk and archives. – Naruto answered with a guilty face.- What about the Hyuga residence?

- We wouldn't hear the end of it from Boruto. Where did your clan live Naruto-kun?

- In the Uzushiogakure so that's out of the question. We could just move to another house.

- I really don't want to move so soon after adopting Kawaki. He barely had time to adjust to this house. It might be hard for him to adjust to a new place in such a short amount of time. Plus you built this house specially for us I wouldn't want to sell it. - We could ask Moegi or Captain Yamato to help build you a new office, but it will take some time. – Hinata tried to comfort Naruto with a passing comment not meaning much by it. After that, both just turned on their side and fell asleep. At least one of them. Naruto spent the next hour or so thinking about what to do.

Eventually, morning came. Everyone woke up slowly. It was just another morning for the Uzumakis. Kawaki was barely awake in the kitchen pouring himself some water, Himawari already outside playing with butterflies, and Boruto making a desperate sprint to the bathroom. Hinata opened the curtains in the bedroom waking the poor blonde. Naruto yawned. He looked like he barely slept. Still half asleep he made it down to the kitchen and grabbed the nearest snack he could find. After some routine moaning and whining about Shikamaru and paperwork Naruto finally opened his eyes and picked up the phone. He told his angry right-hand man that he would be sending a clone to work.

- What's for breakfast today? – asked Boruto

- Just some rice balls.- Hinata replied with a warm smile on her face.

Everybody sat down at the table. Hinata and Himawari looked well-rested and energetic while the rest of the household made it very clear that they were not morning people.

- So, Onii-chan how's training with Sasuke-sensei?- Himawari asked poking her elder brother in the shoulder.

- Wha?! Ah, yeah… training's rough. Sasuke-sensei doesn't know how to go easy in life, does he?- Boruto answered barely awake.

- When we were your age, Boruto, we trained until we fell asleep on the training grounds. Sasuke might just kill both of us if you suggest slacking off. – Naruto commented recalling his younger days.

- How is your training going Kawaki-kun? – asked Hinata, putting the dirty dishes in the sink.

- It's going fine. Nanadaime is a good teacher. I managed to maintain a kage-bunshin for an entire hour during the last session.

- And I am so proud of you for that! If you continue to learn at this speed, I will have to make you a Jonin by the end of the year!- Naruto exclaimed loudly, wrapping his arm around Kawaki's shoulders, and roughing up his hair.- Your cooking was as amazing as ever Hinata.- Said Naruto getting up from the table to help with the dirty dishes. He quickly glanced at Kawaki and dialed a number on the phone. He whispered something into the phone and even covered his mouth so nobody would know what he was up to. Not missing a beat, he turned to Hinata and asked her something that made her blush.

-It's on the top shelf of the wardrobe.- She replied still blushing.

-Oh, Hinata! What would I do without you!-Naruto exclaimed already running up the stairs. Kawaki was confused and looked at Boruto for an explanation, but he just shrugged. Hinata called the kids over to the kitchen seeing as Naruto decided to run off to the second floor instead of washing the dishes. As usual, Boruto washed, Himawari dried, and Kawaki shelved. Boruto put on his shoes and shouted from the doorway. "I'm going training with Sasuke-sensei I will be late, dattebasa. " Kawaki just sighed and got ready to just go back to his room and stare at the ceiling for today when he suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder. When he turned around, he saw the Hokage wearing a strange red robe with black flames on the end and a giant green scroll. The headband with the word "Oil" on it didn't help his confusion either.

-Come, Kawaki, we should train too.- Said the Hokage. Kawaki's face quickly changed from confused to excited. He was always happy to train with Nanadaime. But he had a feeling this training session would be a bit strange.
