Chapter 33
Madison walked outside and let the cool air hit her in the face, she had such an emotional week and now that it was over she didn't know what to do with herself and after the stuff that Dean had said in his anger she knew she didn't want to be in the same building as him. She didn't have her car thanks to the nice tidy bomb that was placed in it, but looking towards the garage she walked to it remembering what she had stashed in it all those months ago. Pushing the door up she saw it covered sitting in the back corner, walking over to it she pulled the tarp off and took in the majesty of her motercycle painted in black, it had been a pet project of hers when she still lived at home, any time her father would find a bike she would take it apart and keep the parts. After she had lost her son she had Jason take her to where her fathers garage had been and they brought it back for her to complete, her and Jason had spent hours in here, she was amazed at how great Jason was at fixing her bike finishing it up in less then three weeks, it had been bittersweet for her, finally being able to finish it but not having her father there to see it.
"She's a beauty" Madison jumped and turned around finding Jason leaning against the wall, smiling at her.
"She really is" Madison smiled, running her hand over the seat.
"You Ok?" Madison shot Jason a look letting him know that she didn't want to talk about it. The whole week had been rough for her, hell the last 2 years had been hell, she had moments where she wanted to just give up but she had to push those down.
"Can we not?" Jason threw his hands up letting her know that he would drop the subject. Madison knew he would be there for her if she ever wanted to talk about it but he wouldn't push her to work her feelings out now. They stood there for a couple of minutes her admiring her bike and him admiring her before he spoke up again.
"So whats next?" Madison stilled and wondered what would be next, for almost a year she hunted for the demon who killed her son and now she had found him what else could she do besides going back to killing the bad guys. She laughed inwardly at the thought that most people had her pegged as one of the bad guys. She shrugged turning away from him.
"That seems like the million dollar question" She responded absentmindley.
"I'm gunna go back inside, when you're ready I'll be in our room" She followed him with her eyes as he walked out, letting out a breath she leaned up against her bike and patted it.
"What is next?"
Walking out of the garage she took in the dark sky and the crisp wind hitting her, wrapping her arms around her she walked back into the center, praying that no one would be roaming the halls. As she got to the hall where Jason's room was she could hear someone arguing, recognizing the deep voice she knew it was Dean, curiosity got the better of her as she walked past Jason's room making her way to the voices coming from Gus's office.
"You really think saying the shit you said to her is gunna make her fall back into your arms?" Madison heard Jason yell, she rolled her eyes but didn't try to reach for the handle.
"Why the hell do you care, you're just loving this aren't you, her being in pain and you get to swoop in and save the day"
"I wouldn't have to save the day if you didn't put yourself first"
"You don't know what your talking about, Maddie and Sam are all I care about"
"And how many times have you let them die?" Madison flinched at the words that just came out of Jason's mouth, from the silence on the other side of the door she knew he had hit a nerve, it wasn't until she heard a crash did she get pulled out of her daze and opened the door to see Jason on the floor with his hand against his chin. Dean turned to look at her, his face softened as she stood in the door way. Sam let go of Dean's arm and stared at her, Gus slowly got up from his desk not saying anything.
"Maddie-" She stepped back as Dean reached his arm out.
"No, I have one thing to say to all of you, First-" She turned to Jason. "You don't ever talk to him like that, he has been through more then you would eve know, hell he took on Lucifer, show him some respect, me dying was on me, I made that choice, and second-" She turned back to Dean. "I don't need anyone swooping in and saving the day, I can take care of myself and you better then anyone should know that, the shit that went down it was messed up as hell, and I'm sorry Ok I'm sorry" She took a breath as she finished.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Dean-"
"No Sam, I wanna know why she didn't tell me, she had a whole year to deal with this and I'm just finding out now I'm allowed to be pissed off"
"You are and I get that, I just couldn't bring myself to say it, it hurt too much"
"Would you have ever told me?" Madison looked up at him, if he hadn't been there when they caught the demon would she have ever told him about the fate of their son?
"No" Dean let out an angry breath and threw his hands up.
"I can't do this" He stormed past her and out of the office, Sam shot her a sympathetic look and followed after his brother. She turned and looked at Gus who had yet to say anything.
"Go talk to him, explain your resons and then give him time, he is grieving the death of his son, respect that" Madison nodded and turned to walk out of the room when Dean appeared in front of her shoving somehting in her face.
"What the hell is this?" Blinking she got a better look at what he had gripped in his hands, she groaned seeing the bottle half filled with blood.
"Dean-"
"No you had your chance to talk now its mine, you still drinking this shit, you said you quit?"
"I did"
"Then what is this, and why was it in your bag"
"You went in my bag?" Madison felt a small wave of heat pass through her but pushed it down.
"You lost your privlege to privacy when you became like this"
"Like what, tell me Dean, you really do think I'm some blood sucking bitch"
"Don't you dare put words in my mouth" Dean looked at her, taking a deep breath, calming himself. "Maddie I'm trying to help you" At that point Madison was sick of people trying to help her, she wasn't broke if anything she was stronger then everyone in this room.
"I didn't ask for your help"
"But you need it" Sam said inching his way towards her. "I know what it feels like Maddie, to think you're doing the right thing when really you're not"
"How do you think Bobby would feel about this Maddie?" Dean asked her. Madison looked around the room and it went quiet she felt everything slow down and then something in her exploded she felt the power rise up before she could do anything about it. Everyone standing in the room was thrown against the wall, the one window behind Jason broke and glass blew around the room some catching her and cutting her but as quickly as they appeared crimson on her skin they healed. She saw Gus move to get up and raise his hand in attempt to stop her, she reached out her hand and in one flicking motion she heard the snap of his wrist. She turned and looked at Dean and walked over to him moving her finger to bring him up against the wall. The wind whipping her hair around.
"Maddie" He looked at her and let out a grunt of pain she could smell the blood from a wound somewhere.
"Don't ever talk about him to me again he left me, you left and so did Sam I had no one, the whole time you were gone I handled that the best way I could" A loud bang rang out in the room and she felt herself jerk forward she whipped her head around and saw Sam pointing a gun towards her she looked down at her shoulder and saw the blood oozing from his bullet and let out a small smile.
"No Sam get out of here I got it" She heard Dean plead with his brother to leave to avoid getting hurt.
"Maddie let him go"
"Look at this Dean, Sammy is all grown up and tough now, how cute" She let Dean fall to the floor and turned her full attention to Sam, who still had his gunaimed at her. "Go ahead Sam shoot me, kill me"
"No, your not alone in this we can help each other"
Madison let out a laugh. "God you Winchesters and your need to help"
"I'm sorry" As soon as the words hit her ears the wind died down and she stared at Sam.
"What did you say?"
"Maddie I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when Dean was gone I didn't know I swear, if I had.."
"How could you? You turned me away when I showed up to tell you, you just left me all alone" She felt the tears start to sting the back of her eyes, she was willing herself not to cry but with the week she'd had she couldn't stop the emotions from rising up.
"And I'm sorry Maddie I'm so sorry I just couldn't deal with everything I never thought of how this was affecting you, if I would've stopped and thought about it..." He paused and tried to keep his voice even he had never seen her so broken. "I feel guilty as hell for this I'd do anything to change it" Madison looked at Jason and saw him leaning against the wall next to Gus who was holding his wrist and out of the corner of her eye she saw Dean looking at her with a mixture of guilt, sadness, disappointment, and rage. She felt her heart twist and she had to make herself look back to Sam who had lowered his gun and was now standing there looking at her with pity.
"He was mine too Maddie" Dean said standing up and leaning against the wall. She didn't even look at him she knew she couldn't, that if she did everything would hit her and she couldn't show that pain to anyone. Instead she locked eyes with Sam.
"Yea but you cant" And she was gone leaving behind the men who had tried to help her and a mess of a room, she didn't know where she would end up she just knew she had to get out of there.
