Goodbye

Once everyone is above ground, they start heading towards The Collector with their palismen by their sides. Staying close together and keeping their eyes open for any danger.

Amity leads the way, knowing exactly where The Collector is since she memorized the route they took when they ran away. She's determined to save Luz and nothings going to stop her.

Suddenly, they hear a familiar yet distorted voice from behind them.

"Where do you think you're going?" Hunter asked.

Willow looks at Hunter with sadness. Then she looks at Gus and nods, knowing what he's thinking.

"Gus and I will hold Hunter off, you guys keep going." Willow said.

"No, we can't just leave you here." Amity replied.

"We'll be fine. Just go save Luz!" Gus said.

Eda, Lilith, Raine, and King nod reluctantly. They don't like leaving Willow and Gus behind, but they need to keep moving forward if they're going to defeat The Collector and save Luz. So they grab Amity's hand and keep going.

Hunter smiles, knowing the odds are in his favor now that there are less people to fight.

"Well, this is going to be easy." Hunter said.

Hunter, Willow, and Gus start battling. Hunter uses his new powers that are similar to Belos's when he was in his monster form, moving fast and striking at them with strong punches.

Willow uses her plant magic, blocking Hunter's strikes and trying to get a hit but he's too fast. She's doing her best to fight, but Hunter's too strong and Gus can tell that she's already getting tired.

Gus realizes the only way to stop Hunter is to hit him where it hurts. So he uses his illusion magic to project Hunter's worst fears, keeping him trapped in his mind.

"I'm sorry Hunter, but this is for your own good." Gus said.

Hunter freezes, falling to his knees in tears as he sees his trauma flashing before his eyes. All of the physical and mental pain Belos caused him, all of the suffering he's had to endure his whole life. Then he sees his greatest fear, realizing he's become the monster he's always feared.

Coming to this painful realization, Hunter starts to fight Belos's mind control, desperate to break free, using all of the strength he has to escape.

"I'm not a Grimwalker, I'm not Caleb…My name is Hunter, I'm my own person and I'm not going to let you control me anymore!" Hunter yelled in anger.

Willow and Gus cheer Hunter on as he starts to break free from Belos's control. Ripping Belos's scar off of his face as his blue eyes slowly turn back to their dark pink color.

The last piece of Belos tries to get away, but Willow immediately crushes it with a giant vine, destroying it.

Flapjack flies to Hunter and lands on his shoulder. Having his palisman companion with him, he gains the strength to stand up, feeling empowered as he realizes he's finally free from Belos.

Willow and Gus run towards him and embrace him in a tearful hug, happy to have their friend back. Hunter hugs them back with a tearful smile.

"Hunter, thank goodness you're okay." Willow said.

"Welcome back buddy." Gus added.

"Good to be back. Now let's go save Luz and defeat The Collector once and for all." Hunter replied.

Hunter, Willow, and Gus start running to catch up with the others.

Once everyone gathers together, they all get into fighting stances ready to save Luz.

The Collector's above them with Luz on by their side. They look down at them and smile, knowing they have the upper hand in this situation.

Luz looks down at everyone with concern. She wants to keep them safe, but she knows she's powerless in this situation. Despite this, she gathers all of the strength she has left to talk to The Collector.

"We made a deal. You promised you'd let everyone go if I stay with you forever. And true friends keep promises to each other. So please, just let everyone else go." Luz said.

"Don't do this Luz. I promised I would protect you and I'm not going to let you give yourself up." King said.

The Collector looks at Luz with curiosity, trying to decide if her friendship is worth giving up control over the Boiling Isles.

"I like playing the game Owl House, but I did promise you I would let everyone go if you stay with me and you've been a very good friend so far. Plus, I don't want to be a liar like Belos and go back on my promise. So you've got yourself a deal Luz the human. Goodbye everyone, it was fun playing with you!" The Collector replied.

Everyone looks up at Luz with sadness, reaching out to her as she stares down at them all with a hopeless expression. Yet she still tries her best to be strong as she looks down at her loved ones with a tearful smile.

Amity runs out in front of everyone and breaks down in tears.

"No, Luz don't do this! We'll find another way, just please don't give up on yourself!" Amity said.

"Don't worry, I'll be okay. Saving you all is the best decision I've ever made and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I love you all. Goodbye." Luz replied, her voice trembling but strong.

The Collector watches with envy as everyone gathers around in tears, supporting one another. They've never had genuine connections with others before and it's making them feel the loneliness they've been burying deep inside for so long. But, instead of facing that fear, they decide to escape it.

"Okay well, goodbye everybody. I promised my friend Luz I'd let you all go, so we'll be leaving now. It was fun playing Owl House with you all." The Collector said.

With a slight wave of their hand, The Collector changes the Boiling Isles back to normal and turns all of the people who were petrified back to themselves. Then they draw a spell circle in the air, creating another portal to escape.

Feeling conflicted, The Collector holds Luz's hand to take her with them, hearing her loved ones cry out for her down below. Watching as Luz waves goodbye with a broken down expression and tears streaming down her face.

On an impulse, The Collector pulls Luz into the portal with them and closes it behind them fast and doesn't look back.

Luz reluctantly follows, going along with whatever games The Collector has in store for her. She'll miss everyone, but just knowing they're all safe is enough to bring a slight smile to her deeply saddened expression.

Everyone watches in disbelief as the portal door closes. Luz saved them all, but at the cost of her freedom and possibly her life. She sacrificed herself to save the world and people she loves, a true hero in everyone's eyes.

Eda and King hug each other tight, in tears as they realize their journey with Luz has come to an end. They think back to the beginning, when they first met the happy go lucky, optimistic, fantasy loving nerd they grew to love. Luz changed their lives for the better, and they'll always be grateful.

Lilith and Raine join in, hugging Eda and King for support. Remembering Luz and how much she's done for them.

Amity falls to her knees, a pained expression of deep sadness and shock on her face as she cries for her girlfriend.

Hunter, Willow, and Gus are sad as well, but do their best to be strong and go to Amity to give her a hug.

Amity pushes everyone away as she stands up and paces back and forth.

"Luz can't be gone. There has to be a way to bring her back. I'm not going to give up on her and neither should all of you. We need to save her. There just has to be a way…" Amity said, anxious and tearful.

Eda runs over to Amity and hugs her. At first Amity resists, but her emotional exhaustion takes over and she hugs Eda back.

"It's okay kid. I know this is going to be hard to accept, but we need to remember, Luz did this because she loves us all so much. It's going to be hard, it's going to hurt for a long time, but we'll find a way to move forward." Eda said sadly, trying to convince herself she'll be okay.

Once they stop hugging, Amity nods as Eda slowly walks back to join the others.

Then Amity looks up at the night sky where Luz once was and waits for some kind of sign that she will come back, but there's nothing.

Amity starts turning around to join the others when suddenly, she sees a light glyph appear out of nowhere, floating in the sky. A small but significant sign that Luz is still with them.

Amity smiles, wiping away her tears as she starts to feel a sense of hope. Luz's signal, a light in the dark that she's not giving up.

Amity looks up at the sky with a hopeful smile.

"Don't worry Luz, I'm not giving up on you. So please, don't give up on yourself." Amity said.
