Chapter- The ending

By the time everything was settled- like 3 am- I was exhausted and ready to sleep. I knew Loki was being kept in a small room in Stark Tower. But really it was just a windowless concrete bunker. Thor will probably be guarding the outside the whole night tonight. Most likely, the other Guardians had been taking a shift with him- mainly for him to sleep. I on the other hand wasn't allowed to go see him.

As I drifted of to sleep in my own room in Stark Tower- where SHIELD had set up a temporary base- with Sköll, I found myself in the space with Tyra. Tyra smiled at me,"Hello Nicole."

"Tyra," I ran up and hugged her, then jumped back and yelled,"You knew! You knew Loki was going to break my bond with Hati and Sköll!"

Tyra smiled guiltily and sadly,"Yes, I knew. I apologize. But I felt it was not right for me to try and sway you to keep your faith in him. That was a choice you had to make on your own."

I sighed defeatedly,"Well, it ended semiley-well at least we didn't kill Loki in the end."

Tyra smirked knowingly,"AND He told you he loved you."

I raised my eyebrow at her,"Since when do you talk like a normal person?"

Tyra blushed,"Well if you have to know, after you unlocked the Sanctuary with Sköll, I found myself able to see into your world. I found such a lovely book store I have gotten many. So I have learned a more modern way of talking."

I modded as I stood to go back into my world. I loved it here but I wasn't ready to spend al of eternity in this place,"Well we can talk more later-"

Tyra reached out,"Wait! I forgot to give this to you!" she handed me what looked like a silver muzzle... And it was shaped for a...a...

A person. And not just any person Loki. Tyra wrapped her arms around me and whispered in my ears,"I hate to ask. But Odin knows you are the only one who has enough magic to over power Loki's own spells."

I sighed and took the muzzle,"Well, it should allow me time to seem him if I do this."

Tyra nodded,"Thank you. Odin shall be pleased."

I woke up the instant I left Sanctuary, dreading what I would have to do. The muzzle had been in my hands, I was gripping it so hard with one hand that I was bleeding a little bit. Hati nosed my side as we walked out,"Fury is that way. I smell him."

I carefully, quietly, and quickly made my way, after all, it was about six in the morning. The only ones beside Fury and I that I can think that would be awake by now would be Steve and the Guardian with Thor.

I found Fury easily, he was in one of the conference rooms watching a news channel. I cleared my throat and he turned to me, turned back to the TV to mute it and turned his attention back to me,"Is there something I can do for you Miss. Jane?"

I showed him the muzzle,"Tyra gave this to me earlier. It's for when we transport him..."

Fury took it from me and examined it,"I'll tell Hill you're comin down."

"Thanks," I smiled," We'll be transporting him in three hours, right?"

"Correct," Fury moved back to the TV and I turned away with Hati at my side,"And by the way Miss. Jane," Hati and I both looked over our shoulders,"I'll turn the cameras off for you."

I smiled,"Thank You Fury."

"Don't tell anyone- Alright- they'll think I'm gonin soft."

Hati winked,"Don't worry sir. Your secret is safe with us," Hati glanced over at me,"I think I'll keep him company," he whispered,"He looks like he needs it."

I glanced back over, Fury was now looking at the TV, and was semily-depressed. He also looked way to old, and tired. I patted Hati's head,"Good-boy. Don't worry about me. I'll take care of myself."

Hati nodded and I watched as he trotted up to Fury- shrinking a bit with each step till he was a bit bigger than his German Shepard form. Hati whined and Fury looked at him,"Hey boy."

Hati's tail wagged and he placed his head in Fury's lap. Fury let out a small chuckle and started to pet Hati's head. Hati sat with his tail wagging and Fury kept stroking his head. They looked like two battered soldiers.

I watched them for a few minutes before I strode to the basement.

Agent Hill greeted me on the elevator,"Wolf Guard."

I nodded,"Agent Hill."

She pressed the button and we started our decent, I glanced at her. She still had a few grazes from the Helicarrier attack,"Nicole."

She glanced up at me,"Hmm?"

"Call me Nicole, Agent Hill. Please."

Agent Hill nodded and stared at the wall,"Thank you. I will."

Silence filled the elevator. Soon, we were almost to our stop, I gripped the muzzle tighter in my hand. As the elevator dinged on my floor, and the doors opened up, as I walked out, Hill called,"Hey hold up a sec W-Nicole,"I turned to face her and she smiled,"The other guardians, the ones who were in the Bridge with me during the attack. They fought well, and I saw what you did here in New York, I felt like you needed to know, we might not have made you without you guys."

I couldn't help but smile,"Agent Hill... Thank you..."

The doors closed on us and broke our gazes on each other. I turned and strode down the hall. At the end of it were two SHIELD officers, one of two SHIELD officers glanced up from their position and elbowed the other. They snapped to attention and saluted me, I shook my head,"At ease gentlemen."

There were two more doors like that, each with at least two more SHIELD agents in them. The third door lead to the final one with Thor and Diana. Thor glanced up as I walked in. Diana was taking a quick power nap, then she would let Thor rest. It's a watch tactic that we came up with during training. Thor rose to his feet,"Lady Nicole-"

I glanced at the door,"So he's really behind that door, huh?"

Thor gazed at the door sadly,"I am afraid so. I have tried to speak to him multiple times, but he refuses me."

I placed my hand on his shoulder,"You shouldn't blame yourself Thor. He just needs time."

Thor sighed,"I know."

I pulled out the muzzle, and Thor's eyes widened,"That is..."

I bit my lip,"Tyra gave it too me. Odin wants him to wear it."

Thor nodded,"Then I shall not keep you," he quickly typed in a code of the door, and then left his finger on the pad so it could scan it (guess someone taught him well),"If you need me call."

I hid the muzzle in my pocket before I walked into the dark room and saw Loki sitting on the concrete floor by the farthest wall. He immediately stood when he saw me,"Nicole!"

I smiled,"Hello Loki. I'm here to prep you for when we move you."

He nodded,"I see..." he was waiting for whatever I would do next.

I pulled out the muzzle. I couldn't look in his eyes,"So, I have to put this on you," Loki gazed at the muzzle in anger, with a certain fear hidden in them,"I'm sorry-"

"Do not," Loki growl,"Say you are sorry. He approached me and looked into my eyes,"Nicole, I know you love me as much as I love you. But please, do not treat me like a monster. Please."

I blinked back tears,"I'm sorry Loki. I have to, your father expects-"

"He is not my father," Loki roared and gripped my shoulders,"Nor is he your god! You do not have to be at his beck and call as the leader of his precious Guardians!"

I felt hot tears run down my face and Loki reached up to wipe them away. The coolness of his touch reminded me, as much as it must remind him every day, that he would always be an outcast,"Loki," I gulped,"I have a secret to tell you. One that no one knows about. Not even Odin, SHIELD or Kat."

Loki glanced up at me, curiosity written all over his face,"Yet, you choose to trust me with its burden?"

I calmed my emotions,"Loki. I am not supposed to even exist," at his puzzled expression I continued,"Tyra and I were not supposed to exist, we're anomalies if you will, in every other version of this dimension Tyra and I simply do NOT exist."

Loki blinked,"Then you are alone?"

"Here, yes," I whispered,"But then I met four other women, well one was barely sixteen..., but Loki they were just like me! Alone, in their own worlds. That, for the record, were completely different than ours."

Loki grabbed my hand,"Thank you for sharing your secret," his gaze fell to the muzzle,"I know you have to buy let me do this first," he leaned down, kissed me and handed me a small golden chain necklace with a small golden snake that had emeralds in it,"For you. Happy birthday," he caressed my cheek before kissing me again.

The Avengers and the Guardians soon left for a blocked area three hours later. Loki was handcuffed and muzzled. Nicole slowly walked with Hati and Kat behind him. Thor shook hands with his team and gives Nicole, Kat,Selvig and the othe Guardiens a hug. Tony opened the Tesseract's case, Banner took it out and placed inside a glass tube, which was held by Thor. Thor gave Loki the other end, who reluctantly took it.

Thor offered his hand to the Guardiens, who one-by-one -excluding Tasha, Nicole and Hati (they were staying behind to be liaisons for SHIELD) - locked hands. Lana took Thor's offered hand. The Asgardians and Giardiens became an energy beam and ten were gone. Then, one-by-one, the group splintered off, strolling into different directions. Banner climbed in with Tony in his sports-car, a frown on his face. Nicole guessed that he was still sad about letting Kat go. Steve and Tasha rode away on his Harley. Natasha and Clint climbed back into a SHIELD car. Nicole patted Hati on the head before pulling the hood of her hoodie up and walking home with her faithful wolf in german-shepard form. They all parted. For now.

Yay! I made a 'The Girls' reference but now it's over!... Or there could be an epilogue. I'm not really sure... The paragraph above could count as one. Review! Tell me what you think! Will there be a sequel involved!
