Hello! Allow me to introduce myself.

I'm Vincent Walcroft, formerly VanossWriting.

Back in like 2015/2016, I started writing fanfiction for Life is Strange. Most of the stories I published in that time have since been, regrettably, deleted. However, there are like two or three stories still up, effectively serving as relics to demonstrate how far my writing skill has grown.

That's not to say I'm a good writer. That is to say I'm better now than I was then.

The problem is I find it hard nowadays to find the motivation to sit down and write. Writer's block is a bitch.

For example, I would probably be on like chapter thirty on my Game of Thrones story (which you should definitely check out lol). I'm on chapter six.

Anyways...

One of the fanfics I still have up on my profile is Life Until Dawn. I originally intended it to be the plot of Until Dawn with characters from Life is Strange. But back then, I didn't have a single original bone in my body. The characters didn't behave the way they should, the dialogue and scenes are ripped right from the game, etcetera. In my opinion, it was my most ambitious yet laziest fanfic idea.

In the four or five years that have passed since I discontinued the story, I've been considering doing a rewrite. Making it a proper AU rather than a cheap-ass copout. Have the characters make decisions and say things that make sense.

Recently, I've been feeling motivated to actually do it. So, I'm going to do it before I lose motivation.

Consider this my announcement/introduction of...

Life Until Dawn: Rewritten

This reimagining of my original 2015 story will see many Life is Strange characters find themselves in an Until Dawn-esque scenario.

The main cast includes:

MAX CAULFIELD in place of ASHLEY BROWN

CHLOE PRICE in place of CHRIS HARTLEY

VICTORIA CHASE in place of EMILY DAVIS

KATE MARSH in place of JESSICA RILEY

NATHAN PRESCOTT in place of JOSH WASHINGTON

HAYDEN JONES in place of MATT TAYLOR

WARREN GRAHAM in place of MIKE MUNROE

RACHEL AMBER in place of SAM GIDDINGS

As well as:

BROOKE SCOTT in place of HANNAH WASHINGTON

STELLA HILL in place of BETH WASHINGTON

A couple of notes regarding the characters:

1). As I said before, I will attempt to have these characters make as few contrived decisions as possible. As such, the characters are merely assigned to their general role in the story, nothing more. For example, Kate will not be adopting Jessica's personality, since it's very different from her own. She will, however, share the same general story and scenes that Jessica has. Basically, the "castings" are not indicative of how the characters will act in the story itself.

2). While I would love to include characters from the other Life is Strange titles (i.e., LiS2, LiS: True Colors), I think it would be best to contain the cast to our friends from Arcadia Bay for consistency purposes.

I intend to write this story from the third-person limited point of view. My reasoning is I'm already writing a (massive) fanfiction in that point of view, so if I'm going to be writing this story at the same time I can at least make it easier on myself by not having to switch between writing styles. Plus, I just think it's the best way for me to write.

If you wanna get a general idea of my writing style, I'd recommend going to my profile and reading "The Lost Stag". It's been like seven months since I last updated it and I'm nowhere near finished with it, but it's pretty much the only publicly available example of my current writing style and skill. Plus, it's a Game of Thrones rewrite (cause Season 8 sucked lol) so if that sounds interesting to you, feel free to check it out.

The setting of the story will be similar to that of Until Dawn, with the names of the locations and the exact date being different for obvious reasons. Also, while certain aspects from the game will be present, such as holding breath and totems, others like dialogue options and important choices will be omitted. This means there is no audience participation, unlike my original 2015 work.

Don't get me wrong, having a "Choose Your Own Adventure" vibe to a story and allowing the readers to decide what happens is a good idea on paper. However, I personally don't wanna juggle that on top of creating a comprehensive narrative. It's a tremendous task in my eyes, and I don't wanna make this any more difficult than it has to be. It's a good idea, just not my kinda thing.

I'll probably start writing this on Google Docs and then copy and paste it into here. I've never been a fan of the way this site formats stories by default, so yeah.

I'll get started on this as soon as I feel like it. I am open to suggestions and other ideas in regard to this story. Other than that, I'll catch y'all later.

Peace
