CHARACTERS: DEAN AND SAM WINCHESTER, CROWLEY, AND CASTIEL

Any other day, this little location in the forest, would be an excellent campsite. Any other day, there would be birds singing in the trees overhead. Any other day, the sun would shine through the canopy overhead…Unfortunately, this wasn't any other day.

A bruised, and slightly bloodied, Dean Winchester took in the scenery. He would love to come back here to camp out with his brother. The environment hadn't been scarred at all by the battle. It looks like the demons had been ordered to take great care that no great harm came to this area. He had no idea why such an order would be given. Dean looked to his right, and saw his brother Sam, kneeling on the ground in a similar position. They were still alive despite the battle; the question was summed up in one word. "Why?" he asked out loud.

"Why?" Crowley repeated Dean's question. "Because we have won. We have no need to kill you, that would be a waste of Effort. It would also be very messy, and this is a rather picturesque area of the forest."

"What are you going to do with us then?" Sam asked. "You know if you leave us alive, we can easily come and overthrow you."

"Yes, that's why we're going to send you through the Portal of Banishment." Crowley said, as he glanced to the mortally wounded Castiel. "Open it," he ordered curtly.

Castiel gestured, and a shining portal opened behind the two brothers. Demon henchmen hauled them up and cut their bonds. Crowley looked at the brothers. "You will go through the Portal, and in exchange, no harm will come to the Earth. The victory will still show on the books as being ours, but nothing more. This is the Contract both agreed on by the King of Hell and Heaven. You must go through the Portal of your own free will for this arrangement to stick," Crowley said.

"And if we don't go?" Dean asked.

"The End of the World happens. I'm being totally serious here," Crowley answered. "So, I suggest you go through that Portal, and live your lives out in peace."

"There's something you're not telling us," Sam said.

"There's always something I'm not telling you. I'm a Demon remember. However, everything I've said is all true," Crowley said.

"Let's go Sam. If it's Earth's destruction, versus us leaving through that Portal, I'll take the Portal," Dean said, starting to walk towards the portal. Sam followed him through, and they were gone.

The portal abruptly closed behind the brothers. This left Crowley, Castiel, and Crowley's minions alone in the forest. "Did you have to have your minions hit me so hard?" Castiel asked, while trying, and failing to stand.

"Oh, about that. I'm so sorry, but I did have to put a good show up." Crowley said, as one of his minions brought over a gold box accented with silver.

"That Box, how do you have one of those?" Castiel asked recognizing the box that Crowley was now opening.

"It was given to me, so that I could complete the last requirement of the Contract between Heaven and Hell," Crowley said pulling out the Angel Blade from where it had rested, nestled in the purple velvet.

"Last Requirement? I thought we'd completed all the requirements of the Contract," Castiel said.

"Oh, you completed your half of the Requirements. I have not yet completed mine, hold him," Crowley said to his minions.

"What are you doing, Crowley?" Castiel demanded. "You can't kill me; no more Angels were to die after the Agreement was fulfilled."

"The Agreement conditions haven't been fulfilled yet. It has been an Honor matching my wits against you. Farewell, Castiel," Crowley said as he killed Castiel with the Angel Blade.

Castiel fell to the ground dead, as wounded as he was, it was a miracle he'd held on that long. Crowley looked to where the Portal had been. "To Where and When you are going, let us hope that you can prevent the Future from changing to that which both sides had seen. I will set you up with the tools you need to operate there, when the time comes. After all, I'm a Demon. I live a long time, and with the Task given to me," Crowley looked to the sky overhead. "It will be a very long time indeed."
