After several kisses, Wendy pushed Squints off, saying, "Stop. Seriously."
Wendy got up and Squints asked, "I guess I win then. Are you alright?"
Wendy turned and with a seductive smile said, "I'm fine. I just don't want to rip this dress. It's a good dress." After that Wendy let her dress fall off her and then picked it up and hung it over a nearby chair. She then turned to Squints and made a "Come here." gesture with her hands. Squints didn't need any more motivation. The pair grabbed each other and fell over to the bed in passion.
An hour later Wendy and Squints were snuggling together on the bed. Squints said, "This was not how I expected this evening to go. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased, but I was hoping we would have some fun together first. I might try proposing if things wen't well, but you just had to lure me up to this hotel room, didn't you?"
Wendy replied, "Well, nearby here is Timmons park. There are boats to be rented by the lake there. I can imagine accepting a proposal given to me on one of those boats near sunset, with some champagne."
Squints said, "Good to know. Wendy while we are here there is something I keep forgetting to ask you when we are together."
Wendy replied with, "Ask away."
Squints said "I was looking through my mementos of you before I came here and saw this note. The day of our first date, the day we found you sleeping the sandlot treehouse, I was going to come find you, because I received a note that said, "Squint's come to my house today. I have something I have to tell you. Wendy." What did that mean?"
Wendy said, "Oh, that. Squints, I didn't write that note. A couple of days later I learned that a gang of girls from my school sent you that note. The leader of the gang had this boyfriend, right. He got a job at the pool. I was nice to him, just like I'm nice to everybody. So he broke up with his girlfriend because he believed he had a shot with me. The other girls in the gang were also jealous of my looks and popularity. Their plan was to trap both of us at my house and force me to do sexual stuff to you in order to humiliate me. While I was sleeping in the sandlot treehouse, the gang of girls waited at my house. A neighbor noticed them trespassing at my house. He sensed something was wrong, and called the police on them. One of the girls broke down and confessed everything under police pressure. After learning about this plan, I got revenge on the gang leader by going with her ex-boyfriend to prom. Just so you know, he was a good prom date, but I haven't seen him since high school."
Squints said, "Well, I'm glad you are able to look back on that day with no regrets."
Wendy then said, "You know, that's not the only way that day could have been different. After our date, I went to the pool to pick up my pay. I learned from Mr. Johnson, my boss at the pool, that one of the other lifeguards called in sick, so earlier he was looking for a replacement to work an extra shift. If I had shown up at the pool earlier, the replacement might have been me. I could have used the extry money but the replacement ended up being a girl named Melissa. Anyway, I later learned that at pool closing time, while Melissa was changing in the womans changing room, Creepy Bobby from my school snuck into the womans changing room. Luckily Melissa perfectly handled that situation. If I had been there instead, I'm not sure I could have handled that situation alone."
Squints then said, "You wouldn't have been alone. In that situation, that day after I finished hanging out with the guys at the sandlot, I would have gone to the pool to see if you were there, so I could ask you about the note. I would have seen you working, and hung around until your shift was up. So you wouldn't have handled that situation alone. I would have been there too."
Wendy said, "Would you have been able to do anything?"
Squints replied, "I don't know. Maybe. You know what? Looking back there is something else that could have happened that day. Did you know that the day before that day, the bank downtown was robbed?"
Wendy thought about it for a moment before replying, "I might have heard something about that."
Squints then said, "I saw some of the robbers as they made their getaway. One of them had a beard that looked a lot like your fathers. I didn't want to say anything to the police until I had a chance to talk to you. On the way to meet the guys, when I stopped to get some candy, I overheard people talking about how the robbers were all caught last night by the police. If I had seen you earlier, I would have asked you about the posibility that your father was one of the robbers."
Wendy then said, grabbing Squints butt to emphasize her point, "Hmm, I wondered what I would have done to keep my father out of prison."
Squints said, "I am glad what you're implying didn't happen. I would have lost all respect for you if it did. I would consider it manipulative and dirty. I'm so glad that I'm with right now an angel instead of a dirty tramp. Not sure what I would have done in that situation. I would still find you as physically attractive as ever, but I wouldn't respect you at all."
Wendy replied, "Actually scared of that. You are enough of a pervert around me when you actually respect me. I imagine your respect kept your pervishness in check. Hate to see what would happen if it didn't. Still It wouldn't have happened. I would probably have told you to be honest with the police, and thanked you for your consideration with a kiss."
Squints kissed her and replied, "No regrets."
Wendy then asked, "See you at Timmons park tomorrow?"
