Epilogue
The Sacred Land of Korin
A sacred land, a peaceful land in the past few years. Until recent events. The destruction of the guardian's lookout, high above the clouds, higher than even Korin's tower, that was an event felt by all the people and creature living in the lands below.
Nearby, within the surrounding woodland, Uub had decided to go out on a journey. He was wandering through the woods, wearing his Gi, carrying with him only a backpack, and he held a calm yet focussed demeanour. He poked out of the trees, coming up beside a river that ran along, peacefully. He looked over the land, took in a deep breath, and continued walking.
He followed the river, and that took him back into the trees, into the woods. They were getting tighter the deeper he went, and darker as the trees grew taller. The time of year meant the trees were covered by leaves, and it provided a great shade from the sun, but it did mean Uub had to watch his step.
Eventually, the woods started to open up again, and Uub could spot a clearing, but more than just that, he could hear the sounds of people. As he moved on, Uub could see stuff belonging to the people of the Karinga Tribe, the people that served as the guardians of the land of Korin. As Uub stepped out of the trees, into the opening, some of the people glanced towards him, but it was clear that he was recognised, having visited with Goku during his training.
A few of the people nodded and bowed their heads to Uub as he walked through, Uub returned the gesture, smiling at some of the children that found him interesting. As he walked on though, Uub looked up into the sky, knowing that some of the wreckage that remained from the destroyed Lookout was still there, floating in the sky, far above the clouds. He knew it was there, but he could not see it. Even the top of Korin's tower was obscured by the clouds.
Fond memories came to Uub as he looked over the area, remembering his first climb up the tower. His training with Goku seemed like forever ago. So much had happened, which brought Uub back to the moment. He looked ahead, noticing that there was some incense and stuff burning. He could smell it and see the whisps floating up into the air.
As Uub pressed forward he noticed there was something sitting directly at the foot of the tower. A shrine. Someone was bowed down in front of it at that moment, so Uub stayed back, letting them have their moment. There were lots of little trinkets and things placed on the shrine, flowers, money, ornaments, things that people served up to their Gods.
The shrine itself was a statue of the Eternal Dragon, Shenron. It was one that had been made by Mr. Popo himself and gifted long ago to the people of this area. The Karinga people knew what had happened, they knew the Earth's Guardian, who they had met many times, along with his friend Mr. Popo, had been killed. So, the gift of the Dragon had become a shrine.
This was the reason Uub had come, but it was for more than just honouring Dende and Mr. Popo.
The woman at the shrine stood up, bowed her head, and backed away slowly, turning and walking past Uub. Nodding to him as she did. Uub returned the gesture then stepped up to the shrine. He took off his backpack, placing it on the ground beside him, and he got down on his knees.
He bowed his head all the way down and placed it on the ground, with his hands flat on the ground, and he said a prayer in his head, or more a message to whoever might be listening. With that, he also said a few words, under his breath, for Majin Buu.
Slowly, Uub sat up again and looked directly at the statue. He moved to the side and opened his backpack, reaching in and taking out something that he had covered with a cloth. He unwrapped the item, revealing something yellow. It was the belt buckle of Majin Buu, with the big "M" on the front. Uub looked at it and sighed.
He placed the belt on the shrine, beside the other offerings, and he let his hand linger on it for a moment.
"Goodbye, my friend," Uub muttered.
He pulled his hand away, stood up, grabbed his backpack, and then he turned away and walked off back into the woods.
Uub's Hometown – An Island South of Papaya Island
Uub flew back to his small island home, a town that appeared very sparse from above, but the closer you were, the better it looked. The people appeared to thrive, while being semi-detached from the mainland world. There was an obvious absence of a heavy Capsule Corp. or Alpha Industries presence. The people utilised technology from both companies, but they didn't rely on it.
As Uub landed, nobody appeared to be surprised by his descent from the sky, they were very familiar with the young man, after all. Some people greeted Uub as he walked through, they were all pleased to see him. Uub would bow his head to the people as he passed by.
Eventually, he rounded a corner and walked through a residential area, down a street. He kept his head down as he walked, looking towards the ground, deep in thought. However, a voice brought him back to reality.
"Uncle Uub!" a voice called out from up ahead.
Uub looked up to see a small girl standing behind a gate, in a small garden. She tried to peek over the gate and was jumping up to get a better view as Uub walked on. A smile crossed the fighter's face and he picked up the pace a little bit.
"How are you, Kamala?" Uub said as he walked up to the gate, opening it up and stepping into the garden.
The girl, who must have been about six or seven, wrapped her arms around Uub's torso, hugging him tightly. She had messy, curly black hair. Uub ruffled her hair as she hugged him.
"Daddy said you wouldn't come back," Kamala said, looking up at Uub.
"I just had to drop something off somewhere, I wasn't going away for long," Uub clarified, smiling at the girl.
"Kamala!" a man called out.
Uub and Kamala looked up to the front of the house, where a man was standing. He was wearing a button-down shirt with some smart trousers, like he had come home from working somewhere, and his sleeves were rolled up. He was wearing glasses, had a big black beard, and short, neatly styled black hair.
"Come on inside, dinner is nearly ready," the man said.
"Uncle Uub is back!" Kamala said, as she ran up the stairs to the front door and walked in.
"I can see that," the man said, cheerfully, and he looked back to Uub.
Uub walked up the stairs and nodded to his brother.
"I wasn't sure if you would come back, did you visit the shrine?" the brother asked.
"Sorry, Amir. I should have told you I would come back, I wasn't thinking right," Uub said, shaking his head. "I did visit the shrine."
"Good. I hope you're hungry," Amir said, and he put his arm around Uub's shoulders as they walked in the house together.
"How's mama?" Uub asked.
"She's keeping busy," Amir replied. "She should be in the back room, looking out over the garden."
"Drawing again?" Uub asked.
"How else does she keep busy?" Amir questioned in return, with a smirk.
Uub scoffed and put his backpack on the floor by the front door. Amir went off to the kitchen to start dishing up the dinner, while Uub slowly walked through the hall.
"Are the others coming for dinner?" Uub called out.
"No, it's just you, me, my wife, Kamala, and mother tonight," Amir called back in response.
Uub nodded to himself and continued towards the back room. The door was open, and there was some natural light coming through. Uub walked in and saw an older woman, sitting towards the back window, looking out, with a paper pad in her hands.
There were photographs all around the room. First of a young couple, then a young couple with a child. More children were added to the photo. Uub was one of them, the oldest of them all. There was the addition of a man with spiky black hair in one of the photos. Goku. When he briefly stayed with Uub and his family before their training became private.
The photos went on, with the family growing up and growing in numbers, the addition of husbands and wives, and more kids, and an absence of Uub for some of them. Uub glanced over the photos but continued towards his mother.
He sat down in the empty seat beside her, looking out of the window.
"What are you drawing?" Uub asked, calmly.
Uub looked at his mother as she continued to sketch, even though he couldn't see what was on the page, he could see that it was something his mother was focussed on. Although, the expression in her eyes was distant, like there was something wrong.
"Mama?" Uub questioned.
The woman looked up to see Uub, and while the look in her eyes didn't change, a small smile appeared. Uub returned a smile, and then his mother turned the pad around and showed Uub. It was a picture of a field of flowers, almost reminiscent to the flowers kept in the garden, but standing in the middle was a woman with long hair, from behind.
"That's lovely, but who is it?" Uub asked, looking into his mother's eyes again.
She turned the pad around to look at it again and then looked up out of the window, pointing outside. Uub frowned and looked to the window, out into the garden, and that's when he noticed her. A woman, standing, looking out at the fields behind the garden, facing away from the house. Uub stood up.
"Amir!" Uub called out.
Amir entered the room.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Who is that woman?" Uub asked.
"Oh, her, sorry, she arrived around lunchtime," Amir explained, "Mama told her she could wait for you in the garden."
"She's looking for me?" Uub questioned, turning to face his brother again, but then he looked to his mother. "Mama spoke to her?"
"Yes, apparently, she's very friendly, right mama?" Amir said, smiling.
"Very," Uub's mother replied, smiling.
Uub scoffed and smiled, hearing his mother's voice. She didn't speak too much these days. Amir smiled at his brother and then went to leave the room.
"Oh, her name is Zohra, by the way," Amir said.
Uub turned as his brother had left the room, about to question him, but he was already gone. Uub frowned again, looked down at his mother and then out of the window again.
He decided to go outside, knowing it would be rude to keep the woman waiting. A woman he met a while ago, at the tournament.
"Long time," Uub said, as he descended the steps into the garden.
Zohra turned around and smiled at Uub.
"I figured you were avoiding me, so I decided to track you back here," Zohra said, folding her arms in front of her. "How are you?"
"I told you before, I'm not interested in this initiative that your boss has," Uub said, bluntly, getting straight to the point.
When Zohra approached Uub at the end of the tournament she had offered up a proposition. She spoke of an initiative that somehow involved the Saiyans, something that Uub had foolishly listened to, only to later turn down the offer.
"One of my bosses wishes to speak with you, directly," Zohra said.
"I'm still not interested," Uub said, turning around.
"Even now? After the Saiyans have continued to prove they can only bring danger to our planet?" Zohra questioned. Uub stopped and sighed.
"Look, I'm just here to give you a heads up," Zohra said, walking towards Uub. "I like you, and I didn't want you to be blindsided by the people I work for."
Uub turned around and saw there was genuine meaning behind Zohra's words. After all, even though she only intended to talk business with him before, it did end up being a nice time. Uub couldn't deny Zohra had left an impact.
"They're stepping up their plans, I know my boss is planning to send a representative to find you, to speak to you about next steps," Zohra continued.
"And you can't tell them I'm not interested?" Uub questioned.
Zohra shook her head. Uub sighed and looked back to the house and could see his mother up by the window still. She was looking down at Uub and Zohra. The young woman offered a little wave up to the elderly woman.
"Your mother is very nice," Zohra said.
"She's lovely," Uub muttered. He sighed and looked up at Zohra again. "Would you like to join us for dinner?"
"Oh, I didn't expect that," Zohra replied, chuckling nervously. "I… yeah, sure."
Uub nodded and turned, walking back up the steps into the house. Zohra smiled to herself and followed.
Later, as dinner was winding down, Zohra spoke up and said that she should be leaving. Uub offered to lead her out. They walked to the door together. Zohra stepped out and stopped, turning around to face Uub again.
"Your family are kind," Zohra said.
"Thank you," Uub replied, he looked down, sort of avoiding eye-contact.
"I'm sorry, Uub," Zohra said. Uub looked up again. "I wish there was a way to avoid it, but my bosses are insistent on speaking to you."
"I will only say the same thing I told you," Uub replied, folding his arms, and leaning on the door frame.
"The truth is, I came here because…" Zohra started, but she was cut-off by the sound of helicopter blades whirring. Zohra looked out and Uub joined her.
They could see some sort of helicopter approaching the town, moving at a steady pace. As it passed over, looking for an adequate place to land, a logo was clearly visible on the side. The Alpha Industries logo. Uub frowned and looked to Zohra.
"I'm sorry," Zohra said, "I didn't expect them to come so soon."
"Did you lead them here?" Uub asked, closing the door behind him as he stepped outside.
"No," Zohra replied, "I came here by myself, I didn't tell anyone."
Uub groaned and walked off down the street, towards where he could see the helicopter slowly descending. Zohra followed.
As they came to the clearing where the helicopter decided to land, they noticed an armoured figure stepping off the helicopter, carrying a heavy looking rifle, while another guard in the exact same get-up remained on the vehicle. With them, was a man wearing glasses, with shoulder length brown hair, that he brushed behind his ears as the helicopter blades slowed. He was wearing a neat suit and didn't appear very threatening.
Upon noticing Uub the man smiled and sauntered over to the fighter, also noticing he was standing with Zohra.
"Mr. Uub, a pleasure to meet you," the man said, holding his hand out for Uub to shake. The armoured man was following him.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" Uub asked, ignoring the outstretched hand.
"Oh, forgive me, where are my manners?" the man said, chuckling. "I am Teki Kusanagi, COO of Alpha Industries, and just being here is, uh, not the best idea."
Teki chuckled again and looked to Zohra.
"I know you're already familiar with Zohra here, still a bright young member of the team," Teki explained, motioning to the woman. "I didn't know you would be here. Is this one of your vacation days?"
"Sir," Zohra said, nodding her head as a sign of respect. Uub frowned. "I was just visiting a friend."
Teki smirked and looked back to Uub.
"I suppose you know a little bit about our operation then?" Teki questioned.
"I think I'm piecing some stuff together," Uub said, looking up towards the guards and the helicopter, with the Alpha Industries logo.
"Look, I just want to invite you to have a meeting with my boss," Teki said, motioning to himself when he said that. "I feel like you and he would be able to find a common ground with everything that's going on."
"And this is regarding…?" Uub questioned.
"Saiyans, of course," Teki said, smiling.
"Of course," Uub said, repeating Teki's words back to him. "Saiyans."
"A meeting, that's all," Teki said, "But you will have to come with us now."
Uub looked at the guards and then back to the town. He sighed and then sent one last look to Zohra. Her expression said plenty. He could read that she was sorry Uub was going through this. Uub sighed again.
"If it's about the Saiyans," Uub started, looking towards the ground, but then he looked up to meet Teki's eyes. "Then I'm willing to listen."
Deep Space – Kuyato's Sanctuary – The Domain of Bure
A single lone starfighter blasted through the spaces in the asteroid belt that surrounded the isolated, yet protected Sanctuary in the near-dead Bure star-system. The structure on the floating rocks had seen life return in recent times, and the system had become, how should we say, eventful. Although, that wasn't always a positive thing.
The starfighter, which was tailor-made for one occupant, was sleek in design, almost shamed like a teardrop. Wider at the back, while narrow and pointed at the front. The ship appeared smooth, with not a single exhaust port, or gun to be seen. There wasn't even a visible cockpit. Whoever designed the ship, or bought the ship, had strictly intended for it to appear unmarked and harmless. It was a bright shining silver too, so it basically reflected everything.
It weaved through the floating asteroids, heading towards the main structure, and managed to fly all the way through, unscathed, then managed to fly through an open door and land, unstopped by any interference from within the Sanctuary. Whoever was flying the ship had clearance to land there, or they were pretty ballsy.
The ship touched down, with the smooth surface altered as the ship descended towards the ground. The landing gear appeared, as well as a cockpit. It looked like some of the silver of the ship had been wiped away to reveal the cockpit, and the person that was sitting inside.
Inside the ship was the tan-skinned, blond-haired alien Elf by the name of Corolla. The ship opened and he stepped out, wearing his trademark long, white coat. He tugged on the front of it, so that it was neat and flowing as he walked across the hangar bay, up a flight of stairs into a control room. He kept his head held high as he burst into the room and glanced around, but there was no one there. He scoffed and walked through the hall towards the throne room.
Along the way he noticed a few Dark Blades wandering through, but none of them paid him any attention. Either they knew who he was and what he was capable of, and thus feared him, or they didn't care and were incompetent. Corolla hoped it was the former.
As the Elf walked through the heels of his boots tapped along the floor, and he walked with pace and purpose. He had abandoned the task that Kuyato had given him when they last spoke, especially after he heard an update about what had been happening on the planet Earth, and he decided to leave his top commander in charge. Corolla wanted to see for himself the condition that Kuyato found himself in.
However, Corolla was left disappointed when he entered the throne room to see that nobody was there, none of their other allies, no Kuyato, not even a single Dark Blade. Corolla walked through, quietly, slowly, looking around. He felt the size of the room when he was there alone, and it had been a very long time since he had walked those halls in the first place. To be in the throne room, by himself, ascending that staircase towards the old throne, it was an honour.
Corolla barely realised what he had been doing, walking all the way up to the seat. He placed a hand on the throne, but he took it away instantly. He needed to find out where Kuyato was, find out his condition, and find out who else knew.
He swiftly turned away from the throne, descended the staircase, wandered all the way across the room again, and re-entered the hallway. The demon-elf was hoping to find someone that would know something. He passed by a few Dark Blades, asking to see someone in charge, but many of them were unsure of where to direct Corolla. He was growing frustrated.
After storming down another hall, Corolla entered a security room, of sorts. There was a man wearing armour, clearly a mercenary, and he was talking to a Dark Blade who had their hood down. That was usually a sign of leadership amongst the Dark Blades. Corolla turned his nose up at the mercenary and looked towards the Dark Blade.
"Where is Lord Kuyato?" Corolla asked, but he wasn't holding his calm, well-spoken demeanour. He was abrasive in the way he asked his question. He was demanding an answer.
The mercenary looked up at Corolla and then to the Dark Blade. They shared a glance at each other and looked back towards Corolla.
"Tell me!" Corolla yelled.
"He is resting," a voice said from behind Corolla. The voice was calm, yet deep, and loud. There was authority in the tone. Corolla knew who it was.
The demon-elf turned around and had to look up as he did, meeting the eyes of Skoda Octavia, as the large demon warrior looked down on his ally.
"Octavia," Corolla said, respectfully bowing his head. "When can I see our master?"
"Not for a while," Skoda Octavia replied, and he offered a glance to the Dark Blade and Mercenary, "Alert the others to continue loading supplies."
Corolla's eye had caught something, and it was in Skoda Octavia's hand. A staff, with a curved end, almost bladed, with a small crystal in the centre.
Octavia noticed Corolla looking at it.
"You found his staff," Corolla stated, "I don't suppose you mind me asking why you have it, and he doesn't?"
Octavia lowered his head, looking through his brow at Corolla.
"And… why are you loading supplies?" Corolla questioned.
Skoda Octavia let out a low groan, and his grip tightened on the staff.
"Come with me," the larger demon said, and he turned with a swish of his torn cape and walked up a long hallway.
Corolla was following closely, quickly.
They stopped outside a room with a very big, old door, built from rock, or at least that's how it appeared. Octavia turned to face his ally.
"Once you see what is in there you will have to be sure to keep it quiet, to keep it between us," Octavia said, but it wasn't a request, it was an order, but most of all, it was a threat. That was apparent from the tone. "Agreed?"
Corolla looked up, but his eyes quickly darted to the door and down to the ground as he thought about it.
"Of course," he said.
Octavia tapped the door with the staff, and it opened.
The room was dark, the only lights that were shining were from a lone medical droid that stood by a large dark tank, nothing was visible inside because the lights were off. The other lights in the room came from buttons or a computer screen, but it was kept dark for a reason.
Corolla and Octavia stepped inside, the door slammed shut and a light appeared around the medical tank in the centre of the room. It was a weird green glow, mainly because of the liquid inside the tank, but it was clear to see who was in the tank at that time. Hooked up to different medical apparatus was their lord and master, Kuyato.
Corolla stepped towards the tank. There was a mask on Kuyato's face, his eyes were closed, there was something wrapped around his left arm, concealing the whole thing from his hand, all the way up to his neck.
"What happened?" Corolla asked.
"Earth," Octavia stated, "the Saiyans, some other pests." He walked up beside Corolla. "I only arrived in time to stop Lord Kuyato from being killed."
Corolla snapped attention to Octavia.
"Then we have to go back, teach them a lesson, kill them all," Corolla said, flicking his hair off his forehead.
"That is no longer part of the plan," Octavia said.
"Why? Where is Yamo Niha?" Corolla questioned, growing more and more confused.
"He is currently preoccupied with something else, dealing with a weapon," Octavia explained.
"What does our Lord want us to do?" Corolla asked.
"He needs us all to keep on task," Octavia started, looking at the tank. "We all remain focussed on the tasks Kuyato gave us before. We do not deviate." He looked back to Corolla. "You are supposed to be gathering forces, remaining in contact with Mazda, and making sure you are using your influence in the core worlds."
"Without Kuyato?" Corolla questioned. "Should we not regroup here at the Sanctuary?"
"The Sanctuary is a known location, any enemies that want to find us will come here, and we cannot let them stop us from our task," Octavia explained.
"How long will it take for him to heal?" Corolla asked.
"I'm unsure, but we cannot wait around to find out, we must keep on task," Octavia reiterated.
"Must we?" Corolla questioned, quietly. Octavia turned to glance at his ally. "Should we keep following the orders when our master is in such a dire state, what will the others think when they learn of his condition?"
"You must leave that mindset behind in this room," Octavia stated, his tone growing. "You hold information that the others do not, consider it a privilege, and know that our Lord wouldn't hesitate to deal with such… deceitful thoughts."
Corolla was ready to scoff at that suggestion and he looked towards the tank, but upon looking into the liquid, at the Dark Lord, he noticed that Kuyato's eyes were open, and bloodshot. He was in great pain, his injuries were rough, but the rage and intensity within never subsided.
Corolla nodded towards the tank and continued nodding as he looked back to Skoda Octavia.
"Yes, sir. As you wish," he said, and he quickly turned and left the room.
Octavia watched as Corolla walked away and then he turned to face his master again. He nodded towards Kuyato as the Dark Lord slowly closed his eyes again, and then the demon decided to leave as well.
The door closed behind him, leaving Kuyato alone in the room, in his tank, with just his thoughts. The lights switched off again, and Kuyato was once again in the dark. Brooding. Plotting.
Preparing.
FINALLY. Saga 7 is over. Wow, almost as long as Saga 6, just a few thousand words behind, I believe. However, with only two arcs, I think it's an achievement.
It's actually quite funny because I never intended for the first Arc, the Yaiko's Revenge arc, to be as long as it was, I had only planned for it to be a few chapters, but it obviously ended up being so much more. With this second arc, which I have dubbed the Noca's Destiny arc, I had so much I needed to do and had planned for such a long time, and it grew. I honestly think it played out exactly as I wanted.
I have begun the planning process for the next story, Saga 8, however I have no title or plot details to give you right now. Except! I will say that the first chapter will pick up almost immediately after the ending of this story, with Pan and Noca. The next story is one I have had ideas for since about 2013, and I only realised that recently. So, let's hope I can execute it effectively.
Thank you for reading and sticking with me, please continue to stay with me because I do have some more places to go with the story. And as I have said multiple times in the past, I do have an ending planned. Are we close to the ending? No. I have to be honest and say there are probably a couple more years left of this story, at least!
I will update the facebook page and my profile when I have a date for the release of Saga 8 Chapter 1. Look forward to it. Stay safe. Be well. I'll see you soon.
