Author's Note
We were all disappointed when Lab Rats: Elite Force ended on a cliffhanger. So, I'm going to pick off where the series ended and write how Season 2 might have turned out. So, let's go…
To the story…
Chapter 1: Warning the Superheroes
Chase Davenport could hardly believe how ugly things had gotten.
He had started dating Reese, hoping that it would blossom into a genuine romance. But clearly, he was in for a rude awakening. Reese was the sister of Roman and Riker, and the daughter of Rodissius. She had taken advantage of his trust and betrayed him. It was blatant manipulation. Chase should have known better than to trust people that he barely knew and would backstab him. It wouldn't be the first time…
What was he thinking? He was the leader of the Elite Force. The big brains, the head of the operation. He tried everything in his power to make sure that the other members of the Elite Force performed their duties diligently. Yet, he tripped up on an obvious ploy and allowed his eyes to deceive him. The person who he thought loved him ended up being the one to undermine and humiliate him.
Chase thought of all the people he had trusted that had betrayed him. Marcus. Sebastian. Chase didn't have many friends due to his cognizance and his vast expertise on varying subjects. Others had taken advantage of his vulnerable state and taken advantage of him like a puppet. It just irritated him that he had been used so many times for the wrong reasons.
Chase held his head in his hands and sobbed for a few minutes. But then, he regained his composure. There was no time for self-pity or regret. That would come later. Chase currently needed to focus on warning the superheroes about the danger that they were in. The Elite Force needed to find the superheroes before Rodissius and his children got to them first. They had to warn them. But how?
Douglas was sitting in the main room of the Davenport Tower Penthouse. He seemed to be recovering and getting better from his injuries from Reese's attack. Douglas was lucky that the Elite Force had managed to get to him. If they had arrived a few minutes later…Douglas may not even be alive.
Chase sighed heavily. This was all his fault. He messed up, and now they would all suffer the consequences of his mistake. It made him feel quite upset that he had allowed this debacle to happen. There seemed to be no way out.
Bree walked over.
"Hey, Chase."
Chase took a deep breath and sighed again. "Hey."
"Are you okay?"
"Not really, no. I'm not okay. I messed up, and now all the superheroes are in danger. It's all my fault. I was too trusting. I should have known better than to open my heart. Why would anyone want to genuinely love me? That can never happen."
Bree knew that Chase could annoy her occasionally and honestly didn't understand him sometimes. Bree and Chase never consistently got along. But Bree knew that Chase didn't deserve to be cheated and betrayed when he was vulnerable. This was absolutely unjust, absolutely inexcusable.
Chase laid his head and his hands. Bree walked over to him and hugged him. Chase sobbed on her shoulder. He obviously hadn't expected this.
"Chase, you are lovable. Our family loves you and our team loves you. Someday, you will find the right one. And we will do everything to make you feel safe and welcome."
"The superheroes are in danger, and it's all my fault", Chase said, clearly filled with lachrymose and guilt. He didn't know what course of action to take now.
"Not all hope is lost", Bree said. "If we can find the other superheroes and warn them, perhaps we can save them. If only we could send a message to them. Reach out to them and hope a miracle may take place."
"We may know how to do that", a voice said.
Bree and Chase turned to see who said that. It was Oliver Otis.
Bree and Chase first met Oliver and his best friend, Kaz Bryant, when the two boys had infiltrated the Davenport Bionic Academy. Chase had initially been hostile towards Oliver and Kaz. Now, the three boys were close, almost like brothers. Their work together in the Elite Force and their shared cause for the superheroes had served as catalysts to help them bond and treat each other amiably. Chase sometimes felt hesitant of Oliver and Kaz due to their misadventures from their days in Mighty Med and Kaz's mistakes, but he could tell they had compromised and worked together. They were by no means perfect, but Chase could tell Oliver and Kaz had definitely improved.
"Who?", Chase asked. He was desperate to find a solution, anything to get them out of the mess he had created.
"Well, you've met him before", Kaz said. "He's kind of goofy. We're almost positive he and his nephew survived the destruction of Mighty Med."
"It's definitely time to contact him", Oliver said.
"Yep", Kaz said.
Chase waited to hear who it was that Oliver and Kaz would suggest.
"Horace Diaz", Oliver said.
