Chapter 4

Where It All Began

As the doom lords made their escape, Kittycorn and Shy chased them to the roof of the castle. The two friends made their way up to the roof, but were surprised to find out that the doom lords were nowhere in sight. Just when they thought the doom lords got away, Kittycorn and Shy were suddenly jumped by the doom lords before they grabbed them.

"Hey! Let us go!" Shy demanded before Master Doom stepped in front of them.

"You two have caused a lot of trouble for us tonight!" Master Doom said as she grabbed Kittycorn's paw and Shy's hand before walking over to the edge of the roof. "Now it is time to get rid of you!"

As they were dangling from the castle's roof, Kittycorn and Shy's eyes widened in fear upon realizing how high up they were. Despite how scared she was, Kittycorn wasn't going to let Master Doom intimidate her.

"You are not going to get away with this, Master Doom!" Kittycorn yelled.

"And who is going to stop us!" Master Doom gave a sinister grin.

"HEY!"

An angry voice can be heard from behind the doom lords. The doom lords turned around to see Puppycorn along with Unikitty, who was in her angry form.

"LEAVE OUR FRIENDS ALONE!" Unikitty roared before charging towards Master Doom.

Unikitty ended up hitting Master Doom so hard, it forced her to let go of Kittycorn and Shy, causing them to fly in the air. Unikitty managed to catch Kittycorn while Puppycorn caught Shy.

"Are you okay?" Puppycorn asked, concerned for his new friends.

"I think we are fine, Puppycorn! Thank you!" Shy gave a relieved sigh.

Angered by this interference, Master Doom fired lightning from her hands as the rest of the doom lords stood by her side.

"Do you really think that you can defeat us on your own?"

Before the doom lords could make a move, a laser beam was fired, forcing them to jump out of the way. Kittycorn and her friends turned around and were surprised to see Hawkodile, Dr. Fox, and Richard as they got ready to fight.

"It seems that you have to deal with us as well!" Dr. Fox taunted as she aimed her blaster at them.

The doom lords got ready to fight as well before a bunch of portals appeared in the sky. That was when Kittycorn and Shy realized that the future Dr. Fox was creating portals in an attempt to bring them back home.

"Wh-What is this?" Richard asked, surprised by the sudden appearance of the portals. "What's going on here?"

"Who cares? I'm just about ready to punch these doom lords into those portals!" Hawkodile pounded his fists together.

Once the battle began, the doom lords charged forward as Unikitty and the others fought back. Master Doom fired her bolts of electricity, to which Unikitty and her friends dodged. The doom lords slowly got exhausted from the fight, especially from Hawkodile's punches and Dr. Fox's lasers.

One by one, the doom lords got knocked into each portal until Master Doom was the only one left. She felt herself getting sucked into one of the portals, but was not ready to give up just yet. Master Doom prepared to fire one last beam of electricity only for Unikitty to charge at her in her angry form. This sent Master Doom flying into the last portal.

The next thing the doom lords knew, they were sent back into the present as they crashed into their lair. With the doom lords defeated, Unikitty and her friends cheered in victory.

"Well, that was a weird night!" Richard said as he still couldn't get over seeing the portals. "I think I'll just got to bed now and forget that this ever happened."

Once Richard left, Hawkodile and Dr. Fox decided to leave as well.

"I guess it is time for us to go to bed as well. Wouldn't you agree, Hawkodile?" Dr. Fox asked.

"Um, yeah." Hawkodile soon blushed as he thought of an idea. "Dr. Fox? I know that the dance is over, but do you think you would like to have one more dance with me?"

Dr. Fox blushed as well. "Oh, sure, Hawkodile! I would really like that!"

It was at that moment when Hawkodile and Dr. Fox walked back in the castle for one more dance together, leaving Kittycorn and Shy with Unikitty and Puppycorn. The two siblings walked over to Kittycorn and Shy to make sure they were okay.

"How are you two feeling? The doom lords didn't hurt you, did they?" asked Puppycorn.

Kittycorn shook her head. "No. We're fine! But how did you find us?"

"Well, Puppycorn and I met up with each other in the castle's hallway and we were talking to each other when we heard you two from the roof. That's when we came to rescue you!" Unikitty explained.

"It's a good thing that you came when you did! You save our lives!" said Shy. "So, what was it that you two were talking about before you came to rescue us?"

"Nothing!" Unikitty and Puppycorn said in unison before they started to blush.

Judging from Unikitty and Puppycorn's expressions, Kittycorn could tell that they finally confessed their feelings for each other. She was now relieved, knowing that the future is now safe.

"Well, thank you two for everything! It has been a wonderful night, but Shy and I should be on our way." Kittycorn explained.

"Aw! You're leaving already?" Puppycorn sounded disappointed that he has to say goodbye to his friends. "We'll miss you!"

"Kittycorn? Shy? Will we ever see you again?" Unikitty asked.

"Don't worry! I'm sure that we will see each other again sometime in the future!" Kittycorn assured.

After saying goodbye to their new friends, Unikitty and Puppycorn made their way back in the castle. Once they were alone, a portal suddenly appeared behind Kittycorn and Shy. The inside of the portal showed Dr. Fox's lab.

Shy soon turned to Kittycorn with a smile and asked, "Are you ready to go back home, Kittycorn?"

Kittycorn nodded. "Yes! Let's go back to our own time period."

After stepping through the portal, Kittycorn and Shy ended up back in Dr. Fox's lab. They were both relieved to see the present versions of Unikitty and her friends.

"Mom! Dad!" Kittycorn rushed over to her adoptive parents.

"Kittycorn!" Unikitty and Puppycorn embraced Kittycorn in a group hug.

"It's good to have you two back. Especially after the encounters you had with our past selves." said Hawkodile.

"Oh, you knew about that?" Shy awkwardly looked away.

"Yes, we did. And I have to say, that was very irresponsible of you two." Richard lectured.

Before Richard could save another word, Dr. Fox decided to speak up to save Kittycorn and Shy a lecture.

"Go easy on them, Richard. I'm sure that they have been through a lot already. All of this was my fault anyway." Dr. Fox looked over towards her time machine. "I never thought I'd say this, but my invention is too dangerous. I'll have to destroy it!"

"Are you sure Dr. Fox?" Unikitty asked, surprised by her friend's decision.

Dr. Fox nodded. "Yes. We cannot risk the timeline being altered. It's going to be okay! I can always build another invention!"

"And I will be there to help you out!" Hawkodile smiled.

"Thanks, Hawkodile!" Dr. Fox thanked her husband in appreciation.

After everyone left the lab, Dr. Fox ended up destroying her time machine, making sure that nobody can change the past. Now that it was nighttime, Kittycorn and Shy walked down the hall together as they got ready for bed. Before they returned to their rooms, they took notice of a room that looked familiar to them somehow.

They stepped into the room to realize that is was the ballroom. Despite all of the years that had went by, the ballroom looked as amazing as it did back then. Kittycorn and Shy soon heard a couple of footsteps as Unikitty and Puppycorn entered the ballroom as well.

"It is amazing, isn't it?" Unikitty sighed as she stared at the ballroom in awe.

"It's hard to believe that 15 years had passed since we first danced here, sis!" Puppycorn commented.

"So, this was where it all began, wasn't it?" Shy asked as she still couldn't keep her eyes off the room. "It was where you two fell in love."

Unikitty nodded. "It was, Shy! That night was the beginning of a wonderful future for us!"

"Aww! That is so sweet! I'm sure that we would have a wonderful future together too! Right, Shy?" Kittycorn asked as she wrapped a paw around Shy's back.

Shy blushed before she replied, "Yes. I'm happy to spend my future with you, Kittycorn!"

It was at that moment when Unikitty, Puppycorn, Kittycorn, and Shy silently admired the ballroom as memories began flowing back to them. With their time travel adventure behind them, Kittycorn and Shy knew that they would have a bright future ahead of them.
