Malcolm wanted to go after Raphael right that moment. Get in Gil's car and try to find him. If it weren't for the Hitchhiker Killer trying to limp away. They couldn't just let them go. So, they tranqed them even more. Used more of the wolf's bane balloons on them. Right until they stopped moving. They weren't dead. Far from it. They were too weak to even begin to fight either of them. Quickly as he could, Malcolm wrapped chains around their ankles, wrists, and their muzzle. With that, they finally had the monster right where they needed them.

No more folks dying on their watch. And definitely no more folks getting turned. Finally, they'd be able to go home and deal with Malcolm's issue in peace. Soon as they were able to find Raphie that is. And stop the vampires that had taken him. Maybe find out why they had taken him. As well as what purpose. All they needed to do was find him first. Find anyone who could point them in the right direction. Mathias seemed like the best person. Gil called the vampire not too long after capturing the killer. Telling him about the situation. How Raphael had offered to be bait. And that one of Darius's men had taken him in the confusion.

"Yeah, we're not sure where they'd taken him.",Gil answered. Not liking that they didn't know where Raphie was taken. That the men wanted him at all. His powers were far too fresh. Almost unusable if he were being honest. Even with Mr. Nighthorse's help, they weren't all that reliable. Mathias stated,"More than likely they're hiding out here on the Rez."

"I'll get some more men and I'll see you in an hour at the Red Pony.",Mathias informed. With that both men hung up. They needed to deal with the killer than head out. He tried calling Walt and got his home answering machine. It didn't seem all that wise to get hte rest of his team involved. As none of them have dealt with this before. Nor would they now how to deal with a drugged werewolf. There was no way that they'd allow the deputies to handle this. As it'd be much too dangerous for them. So, he elected to call Henry instead. Telling him that they needed his help to move the killer. And that they were properly sedated. That it wouldn't harm him as they'd made absolutely sure of it.

Henry willingly agreed to assist them in moving the killer. And that he'd be with them in no time at all. It was somewhat good news for them. Though, Malcolm was too worried to feel happy about it. Worrying how Raphael was doing near the vampires or not. Gil turned to Malcolm, he informed,"Henry will be here as soon so we can properly detain him."

"Then I'll go see Mathias and find Raph.",he added. Raphael's safety was their next priority. Just what in the Hell did they need him for? Why did they bring him out to the Rez? Did it have to do with Jacob and their powers? But why would they be after Jacob? Nothing was making sense. They'd get to the bottom of it soon. Then they'd deal with the Hitchhiker Killer's human form. Who they were and why they did what they did. Highly doubting they were out of control during it. As the killer seemed to be perfectly in control of themself. In Gil's eyes at the very least. Looking at the killer, he sneered. Shoving his phone back into his back pocket. Nudging the werewolf with his foot. They were definitely out cold. Not waking up anytime soon. Figuring the tranqs Raph had pumped him with did him in. As they hadn't used as much as the young psychic had. Quietly, he asked,"Why did they take him during the attack?"

"Why not before the werewolf showed up?",Gil added. It didn't make much sense in his mind. It'd be so much easier if they did. Less risky too. So why not wait until the young psychic wasn't just alone but unaware? Well, more unaware. Malcolm stood up as the thought slowly started to hit him. It would have made more sense in his book. Been easier and risk avoidant. Then it hit him, they probably knew the killer. Knew and were working with the bastard. Turning to Gil, he realized the older man knew it too. Raising an eyebrow, Malcolm questioned,"You don't think they know the Hitchhiker killer or something?"

"Or they might know something about them?",Gil suggested. Or possibly knew something about them. Like where the killer had held themself up at the full moon. Maybe even allowing him to escape their hiding place. But, Gil doubted one had even existed in the first place. That he probably was just...it didn't matter. What he thought about this wasn't relevant. What mattered is that they had the killer. Raphael's safety needed to be their biggest concern. With this in mind, he said,"We'll deal with this asshole later, Bright."

"Right now, we need to deal with the vampires.",Gil reminded. Vampires using Raphael as bait. For whatever reason they can think of. He hoped that the young psychic managed to find a decent hiding spot. And that the vampires wouldn't be able to find him. Part of him was a bit concerned about that. As vampires could easily hear his heart beating. His stomach twisted as he guessed that Malcolm was having the same thought as him. He did his best to school his features into a calmer one. Not wanting to distress Malcolm more than he already was. A few moments later, Henry pulled up alongside them. Parking right next to the unconscious werewolf's form. A moment after he did so, Gil grabbed the werewolf's ankles. While Malcolm carefully grabbed its shoulders to help him hoist it. Worried that while it was sedated, it might wake up from being jostled too much. Both carefully lifted the creature and set it in the truck bed. When the creature was secure, Henry asked,"Where is Raphael?"

"I thought he would be with you.",he continued. Looking around as if hoping to spot the young psychic somewhere. Staring at Malcolm, he noticed the clear look of distress. Frowning, he asked,"What is the matter?"

"Where is he?",Henry asked. An uncomfortable feeling settling like a stone in his stomach. They didn't. Darius and his men didn't get him. Not at this time of day. There wouldn't be a lot of places for vampires to easily hide. Gil answered,"One of Darius's men took him and ran."

"We don't know where or why.",Gil added. That immediately set Henry on edge. Was Nighthorse's vision finally coming true? Did that mean they took him to the Red Pony or something? That was probably something to handle later. Right after they got the killer properly detained somewhere isolated. Somewhere that no human could easily get in or out. Much less a giant werewolf. Henry asked,"Do you need any additional help in rescuing him?"

"I could lend a hand if needed.",he continued. Fearing the worst would happen if he didn't. Gil wanted to protest this but, Malcolm answered,"We'd really appreciate it."

"I know Raphie would like the help.",he continued. That was sort of true. As Raphael seemed to have warmed up to him. And trusted him enough to accept a ride from the bartender. So, he'd probably appreciate his help. Gil raised an eyebrow but said nothing about it. Instead, he just walked over to his car. Getting into it, he stated,"First we put the werewolf somewhere hard to get out of."

"Then we go meet Mathias and we try to find Raph.",he added. With that, Malcolm got into Henry's truck. Henry pulled out as Gil followed him. The trio of men hoped they'd find him soon.

~Meanwhile~

In the tree hollow, Raphael was praying that he wouldn't be seen. Praying that everything was going to be fine. His hand was firmly clamped over his mouth. Doing his best to muffle the sounds of his heavy breathing. Tears rolling down his cheeks as he sat there in the dirt. Deabting what move to make next. Either to stay where he was or make a break for it. While he sat there, he felt a hand on his cheek. Wiping away the tears from it. He let go of his mouth as he allowed the person to touch his face. The touch was so gentle and soothing. So strangely familiar as well. Then the invisible hand became slowly more visible. Like a veil was being slowly lifted off of his eyes. The person wasn't entirely familiar to him. Yet, he somehow was. Like the person was on the edge of his memory. His name was on the outskirts of what he knew and remembered. A name lingered in his mind but, wasn't reachable. Raphael asked,"Do I know you?"

"Yes, baby. You do.",the man confirmed. A sweet smile on his face as they stared at each other. Leaning into his touch, Raphael asked,"You're Grandpa's Dad aren't you?"

"Indeed I am, little one.",he answered. Little one? Oh yeah, compared to him he was a little one. The nickname strangely wasn't condescending or all that cruel. It felt strangely more loving than anything in his life. Having missed receiving affection from his family for so long. Though it felt weird from a long dead relative. Pushing this to the side, Raphael asked,"So, what do I call you?"

"Just call me, Hank.",Hank answered. Anything else would probably make him feel weird. To Raphael it probably would be. Letting go of his great Grandpa's hand as it felt weird to be still holding it. This was the weirdest thing in the world to him. He stared at him blankly for just a moment to understand what this meant. In a low voice, he stated,"You've been saving my ass, Hank."

"Well, I've been trying to lead you in the right direction at least.",Hank informed. Well, that explained a lot of what had been happening. Though that did make him feel a little guilty. As the older man probably should be resting in the afterlife. Not protecting his stupid great grandkid who should be caring for himself. Frowning, Raphael muttered,"I'm so sorry. You shouldn't have to do this. I should be taking care of myself."

"What good am I if I can't provide you with help?",Hank questioned. There would be no peace for him if he ignored his struggling family member. None in a way that he'd be fine with. Shaking his head, Hank added,"I wouldn't be able to live with myself I didn't."

When Raphael opened his mouth to speak, he stopped him. Placing his right hand over the younger man's mouth gently. Quietly, Hank informed,"Baby, I don't mean literally. You know that."

"Now isn't the time for any smartass remarks.",he scolded. Knowing that his great-grandson would do so. It seemed to be one of his worst traits. Raphael nodded his head in agreement. Sheepishly smiling at his great-Grandpa. Feeling like a total asshole for even thinking of making a quip about it. Now definitely wasn't hte time for that indeed. Right now was the time for him to focus on surviving. Keeping himself out of the vampires reach. Right where he was, he was vaguely safe. Whatever was keeping him unseen was doing him wonders. But, it wouldn't last forever and they both knew this. They knew he had to come up with a plan soon. But what he should do they weren't entirely sure of. If he ran, he'd definitely would be caught. Though, if he stayed he'd be caught too. So, it was damned if he did. Damned if he didn't. Raphael thought it would be wiser to flee if he could. As staying woudln't be the best decision. In his book it wouldn't be. Hank reminded,"The others are probably out looking for you right now."

"If you left, they might not be able to find you.",he added. Sure, it seemed like the wisest decision. But, Hank felt it'd be much better to stay put. As his great-grandson's friends could find him easier that way. Even if they didn't like it all that much. While they sat together, Raphael asked,"How long have you been following me around for?"

"A little over a month.",Hank answered. A little over a month? he'd been feeling followed for far longer than that. Clearly, it wasn't Hank. Then who? Just who in the world could have been following him around? 'Helping' him with stuff during his time with Malcolm and the team. Raphael raised an eyebrow as he thought this over. Then he asked,"Are you the only ghost that's helping me out?"

"No, I'm not the only ghost.",Hank admitted. So, who was the other ghost? Were there more? If so, then how many were hanging around? Who were they? Hank continued,"The other one will reveal himself soon."

"I honestly can't tell you his name, sweetheart.",he explained. That made Raphael a little worried. But, figured it was something to deal with later. While they waited, Raphael heard a twig break from somewhere nearby. Nearly making him panic. He placed one of his hands over his mouth to muffle the noise as he listened. Hank kept the tree hollow hole blocked with his body. Figuring that even if the person couldn't see him, they couldn't pass him. Or at least he hoped they wouldn't be able to pass him to get to his great-grandson. The pair waited in silence as the footsteps grew louder and louder by the minute. Each step sounding closer and closer to Raphael's hiding spot. And for the briefest moment, they believed they were caught. Then they slowly moved away from the spot that Raphael had ducked into. Not long later, they couldn't hear the person's footsteps anymore. Raphael kept being quiet as possible. Irrationally fearing what would happen if he did. And that he wouldn't see his partner or boss ever again. It made his stomach twist as Hank gently patted his free hand. He would not let anyone hurt his family.

~With Malcolm~

The whole trip to the place that Henry knew was in silence. As neither man could speak of anything. Nor, did Malcolm feel like talking about their situation. All he could think of who Darius and his boss were trying to lure with Raphael. It surely couldn't have been Jacob. After all, they barely just met. Though this seemed like the most likely thing. He was the first psychic in the area before Raphael showed up. Probably didn't use his powers to help out the vampire group when they wanted. Or even needed. Well, not Darius's boss's group. Which probably pissed them off. Though, he wondered if that was really the only reason. If there was something else about Jacob that they didn't like. Aside from his seemingly condescending personality. Turning to Henry, Malcolm asked,"Would there be any reason that someone would go after Jacob?"

"I do believe it would be for his money.",Henry answered. Though this seemed really generic. Just money alone wasn't a decent enough reason to kidnap a new psychic. Nor did he feel like it was the best of reasons. Money was a weak excuse for this. Malcolm questioned,"Are you sure that's the only reason?"

"I am not sure what other reason there would be.",Henry informed. In his book, he wasn't entirely sure what else would be. Raphael and Jacob barely met. Aside from their powers, they didn't have anything else in common. Nor did they seem anything alike. Glancing over at Malcolm, Henry asked,"What is on your mind?"

"I'm trying to think of the connection between Raphael and Jacob.",Malcolm admitted. What exactly would make them alike aside from gifts. As he doubted that they lived similarly. Since Raphael is a thirty year old man. And he wasn't sure how old Jacob was. But, he was definitely older than Raphael. Probably was younger when his gift manifested itself. Though, he kept getting a strange feeling they had something in common. Anything that possibly could link them together in his mind. Frowning a little, he continued,"I really can't think of anything that would link them together."

"I don't know what they really have in common aside from their gift.",Malcolm added. What else could the pair even have slightly in common? Then he thought about Raphael's past and the events that happened throughout it. Quietly, he asked,"Jacob grew up with a single Mother?"

"Yes, I believe he did.",Henry answered. There was something that they had in common. Well, for the most part. As he remembered that Raphael had a step-Father. One that was very abusive but, his Mom divorced him when Raphael was twelve. Or around that age. Then raised him along with his younger brother and half-brother pretty much by herself. As the half-brother of Raphael had lived with Raphael's former step-father for most of his life. A thought shoved its way to the front of Malcolm's mind at the mention of Raphael's half-brother. Was Jacob biracial? Is that the reason they were after Jacob? Because he was a rich biracial man? There had to be more than that but him being biracial definitely had to be part of it. Frowning, Malcolm questioned,"How does Darius's boss feel about people who're biracial?"

"...you think he is doing this thanks to Jacob having a white mother?",Henry questioned. It somewhat seemed plausible in his mind. As he remembered Walt telling him that he called Jacob a 'half-breed'. There was a slight feeling that Malcolm's suspicions weren't entirely off. Though, he highly doubted that was the only reason. As they pulled up to the spot that could house the killer, Malcolm answered,"I doubt it's the entire reason. But, it feels like one of them."

"I mean, Raphael is white but he has family members who're biracial or mixed.",Malcolm explained. Raphael is white person. But his Grandpa wasn't entirely so. Though, he highly doubted race or being mixed was most of the reason. It was definitely something to keep in mind as Henry parked. Hurriedly he got out of the truck and headed to the back where the wolf was. Eyes going wide at the sight before him. There was an elderly white gentleman laying on the truck bed. Barely breathing as he laid there. It made his stomach twist as Henry got around to his side. In a low voice, he asked,"I don't suppose you know who this is?"

"I, unfortunately, do not.",Henry answered. Sounding just as worried as Malcolm did and leaned over to the older man. Pressing his fingers to his throat to check his pulse. It was fairly weak but, he was alive. With that, they got back into the truck. Knowing full well that they would need to take him to the hospital. Explain what happened to the best they could and pray he didn't die before the police showed up. Soon as they got inside, Gil had pulled up. Rolling down the window, Gil asked,"Where are you guys going?"

"Aren't we supposed to keep him here?",he questioned. Looking thoroughly confused by what was going on. Malcolm rolled down Henry's window before he answered,"He shifted back to human and we gotta get him to the hospital."

That was all Gil needed to hear before rolling his window up. Malcolm did the same as Henry peeled out. Barely able to buckle himself in properly. Around half an hour later or so, they were at the hospital's emergancy room entrance. Parking near the double doors with Gil not that far behind them. The youngest man got out of the truck and hurried over to the elderly man. Hurriedly peeling the chains off of his frame as carefully as possible. Not wanting to cause him too much pain. While he did this, Henry got some of the staff from inside. Putting the elderly man on a stretcher and wheeled him inside. It took all of possibly a few seconds before he was inside the hospital. Being taken care of by the nurses and doctors. Henry muttered,"One of us has to stay here. To make sure that he does not get away or get taken out of here."

"I'll stay.",Gil stated. Malcolm turned to protest but Gil put a hand up. Staring deep into his eyes, he continued,"Raph needs you, I can handle everything from here."

"Just go.",he insisted. Heading towards the emergancy room as quick as possible. Not even allowing Malcolm to protest what was going on. So, the younger man just went with Henry to the Red Pony. Knowing that Mathias would be there with help. The pair hurriedly got into Henry's truck and pulled out of there. Barreling down the street at high speeds. They were going so fast that Malcolm was surprised that the cops weren't trying to stop them. But, ignored this as they pulled into the Red Pony sometime later. Parking as Mathias was waiting for them with four other vampires. Ones that didn't look familiar in the slightest bit. But, that didn't matter. What mattered was whether or not they'd be able to properly find Raphael in time. Before Malachi and his crew could get him from where he was hiding. Which could be at any moment. The young man gave the group some of Raphael's favorite clothes. His hat that his half-brother had made him. A seashell mermaid t-shirt that he liked wearing. Along with a handkerchief that he bought a couple of months ago. One that had a trans pride flag as the design. All of them had taken the items to get the right smell. Mathias asked,"So, you didn't see anything before you came upon the killer?"

"All we heard was Raphael's screams stopping.",Malcolm answered. It was one of the most terrifying thing they had. Hearing Raphael screams suddenly stop and the creature's roar die down to a whimper. He swore that his heart nearly lept into his throat as he ran over to where Raphie had been. Only finding the Hitchhiker Killer crawling on his hands and knees. In a low voice, he added,"I thought the wolf killed him. So did Gil."

"I'd call his phone but, I don't think he knows exactly where he is.",he added. And part of him worried that any noise could be heard by the vampires. Sure, the ringer would probably be off. But, Raphael didn't seem to know how to whisper. The volume on the speaker was definitely loud as he remembered him talking to anyone and hearing the person over it. So, he worried that Darius or any of his crew would be able to hear that. Malcolm's mind pictured everything that could happen to his partner. Everything that Darius could and would do to him, Mathias carefully gripped his shoulder. Giving it a very gentle squeeze, he assured,"We'll find Raphael, Bright."

"He seems like a clever guy and I'm sure he's hidden somewhere good.",he added. And that he probably had some ability to defend himself. Even if he hadn't brought anti-vampire defense weapons, he probably made some. As it wasn't that hard to defend himself against them. Well, in Mathias's mind it wasn't. This somewhat seemed to soothe Malcolm's nerves. But, not entirely so. Malcolm toyed with Raphael's hat as the other vampires ran off. Going in the direction that the scent was taking them. A second later, Mathias joined them. The vampire was just hoping that he wasn't entirely wrong about what he said. That Raphael was hidden somewhere with make-shift weapons to defend himself with. That Darius wouldn't be able to easily find the little man. Otherwise, he wouldn't know what to do.

~At the Tree Hollow~

The pair had kept as quiet as humanly possible. Hank was gently stroking his great-grandson's hand to keep him calm. Or at least trying to. As he footsteps were still sounding around them. Along with yells from the vampires that clearly couldn't easily find him. Some were calling out his name as if to coax him out of his hiding spot. Nothing they would say was going to make him leave. Raphael kept his hand tightly over his mouth as he watched his great-Grandpa's back. Noticing that he was tensing a few times but, he didn't do much else. Hank took back his hand as he kept his body blocking the entrance. A moment later, the noises were gone as quickly as they came. All he could hear were the strange 'breathing' noises of the older man.

A second later, his vision overcame his senses. One that showed him a figure leaning into the hole of the hollow. Going through his great-Grandpa's body to look at him. The vision was too blurry for him to get a proper look at him. When he blinked, the vision was gone and a worrying feeling settled like a stone in his gut. This wasn't good. Who was that? Were they anyone that he would feel safe with? Anyone that Hank would be fine with? His mind raced as he sat there thinking about the possibilities of the vision. Then a moment later, he heard footsteps going around the tree once again. Making his heart race as he realized the men were back. Slipping his hand over his face once more to muffle his breathing. Watching Hank's back tense a little as something got closer to him. Doing his best to be a door as the person knelt down. The younger man scooted out of sight the best that he could in the tree hollow. Knowing there really wasn't anywhere that he could high. Not realistically. As he pressed himself against the tree hollow wall, a man leaned into the hole. Nearly causing him to scream in fear as the man asked,"Are you Raphael?"

For a moment, Raphael hadn't said anything. As the voice didn't sound like any of the vampires from earlier. He froze there as he thought of how to respond. The man repeated the question. Sounding a little concerned when the young psychic hadn't responded to him. Pulling his hands from his mouth, Raphael questioned,"Yeah, I'm Raphael. Who are you?"

"I'm Mathias, Raphael. I'm here because Malcolm and Gil called me.",Mathias answered. Reaching out his hand to take Raphael's. Which, the young psychic did with a second's hesitation. Carefully crawling out of the hole through his great-Grandpa's form. That sent a strange shiver down his spine. One that he did his best to ignore as he stood up. If the other man had noticed it, he didn't say anything. Pulling the shorter man close to him, he held him carefully and started running. Hank following after them as quick as a ghost could. None of them noticing the figure in the distance lighting a cigarette. Smirking as he watched the trio hurry away.
