The story and plot are mine, the characters are not. (Except Aurelia:))

Enjoy!

On July 7, 1979, Sirius Black and Aria Selwyn welcomed a tiny girl into their chaos-filled lives, just as dawn broke outside. They named her Aurelia, in honor of the light she brought into their hearts.

The girl grew, and as all the Blacks before her, grew into beauty, grace, and strength. The Black family's notorious dark hair upon her head and beautiful rare purple eyes from the Selwyns created a stunning young witch before their very eyes. No one knew what was to come, and no one could have ever predicted who she would turn out to be...

This is her story.

Aurelia shook as she neared the sorting hat. As soon as the old witch had called her name, she could sense the tension rising in the halls. Every head at every table seemed to have their eyes glued to her, and their raging thoughts were overwhelming in her ears. She sat on the hard stool provided and tried to avert her gaze from those at the tables.

My, my, the hat said in her head. Another Black. Just as pure, just as chaotic. I know just where to put you-

Please, don't! She thought back, They already hate me enough. Please, anywhere else.

But, my dear, Slytherin would suit you quite perfectly.

I know, but I can't deal with the stigma it will add to my name. She begged, for years she had seen it, the awful looks and hatred given to her heritage, blatantly proven by the actions and words of others in public. Anything to lessen it she would be thankful for.

Alright, then, the hat paused. Slytherin would be best, but you say no. Definitely not a Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor doesn't fit. I suppose the only decently suitable option then is...

"RAVENCLAW!"

Her sigh of relief was heard throughout the room, as she stood and made her way to the long table of students who saw nothing change in their eyes.

Aurelia had been alone most of her life, therefore at school, she was never the center of attention. That was until she decided the befriend one, Harry Potter. It had not been her plan, of course, but when had fate ever given her fortune. It had begun with a few study sessions with Hermione Granger, and ended with a tentative friendship with the 'Golden Trio'. Then quickly turned into an alliance between them all, mostly due to Aurelia's grand knowledge of things not found at Hogwarts. But she would accept any friendship. She even told them about her abnormality, her legilimency. Since she was little, the voices in her head had proved to be thoughts from others, and they had accepted this with hesitation. Aurelia was happy with what she could get.

The Black eagerly gave them her prettiest smiles and best behavior, so that her new friends would stay. No one else was willing to speak to her.

And then... her father broke out of Azkaban. While she was thrilled at the aspect of seeing him, she had instantly been in the spotlight everywhere she went. Followed by reporters when shopping at Diagon Alley, avoided on the Hogwarts Express, questioned by numerous Ministry workers, even Arthur Weasley didn't speak to her in the Leaky Cauldron.

But she could get past all of that because Harry and Hermione didn't change. Ron had always been distant, but the others didn't seem to care. So, she kept the truth from them. She didn't tell them about the alleged reason her father was imprisoned, didn't tell them that the new Defense professor was actually her godfather who refused to take her in and she most certainly didn't tell Harry of the connection between their parents.

But, Harry found out. He found out about everything, using his father's cloak. They all walked away from her then, refused to listen to her reasons, to the truth she knew. They left her. Alone, in the snow. Always alone.

She followed the trio into the cavern. The witch could feel something wasn't right with that dog, it had moved with purpose. She had to admit it looked close to the Grim, but of course, those were only superstitions. She crawled into the Whomping Willow, deciding against uselessly fighting the tree, and stunned it instead.

She found herself in the shrieking shack. Confused, she followed the voices to the small room upstairs, as quietly as she could manage.

In front of her, she saw Ron, Hermione and Harry bundled into the corner, and beside her, Professor Lupin was holding a man tightly in a hug. The man was wearing a striped uniform and had a mass of curly Black hair similar to hers. She gaped, lowering her wand, just as Lupin released the man, and the two wizards turned to face her.

"Reli?" Sirius Black swept forward, picking up his daughter in a hurry. He spun her for a second, grasping her like she was his lifeline. "My sweet princess."

"Daddy?" Aurelia finally found her voice, even though it was broken and soft. He was there. He was actually there, her father holding her against him. They pulled apart finally and Sirius had a tear running down his sunken, hollow face. "Dad."

"I am so sorry, princess," He wept, cradling her face. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean- I never wanted this to happen."

"It's alright." She pulled him back to her, hugging him so tightly as to make herself believe that they would never be broken apart again, "We are together now."

Harry stood, pointing Hermione's wand at them. "I knew you were with him. You're all traitors."

Sirius stepped in front of his daughter, protectively, "You don't know what you are saying."

"You betrayed them!" Harry accused. He thrust his wand out again, but Sirius quipped back. "I would never betray Lily and James."

But of course, everyone knows the rest of this story. The servant and Master united, the werewolf exposed, and the wrongly convicted wizard's escape on the back of a Hippogriff. The only thing everyone left out of this story was the girl. Once again, she was left behind, with only promises for the future and memories of the short-lived happiness of the past to hold onto.

She flung herself about against her captor, pale limbs scrambling desperately to reach her father, but it was useless. Bellatrix Lestrange held her tightly, forbidding the small witch from being able to follow her father into the Veil of Death.

In a short moment, Aurelia Black was officially made an orphan, by a man she had thought was on their side. Alastor Moody backed away from the scene as Aurelia dropped to her knees in anguish.

Somewhere within herself, she could hear voices around her, Harry accusing her aunt of murder and Bellatrix's taunting retorts. Before her glazed-over eyes, Harry lunged for the madwoman, chasing her into another corridor. She was going to follow behind with the rest of Dumbledore's Army, really she was. But she couldn't. Everyone had run, and she could hear the commotion down the hallway. Yet, there she sat staring at the Veil, silently watching with tears rolling down her cheeks as the souls of her mother and father stood smiling sadly at her behind the translucent mist.

They pointed, with gentle smiles toward the exit, and Aurelia slowly got up and walked away. She half- jogged into the entrance of the Ministry, only to instantly shield herself from glass shards. That was the moment she saw him for the first time- Lord Voldemort. He was livid, angrily throwing curse after curse toward his opponent, and Aurelia could do nothing but stare at the immense power he easily exerted with each swipe of his wand.

The Minister and his posse soon arrived, breaking the captivating duel just before the Dark Lord won; however, just before he left, Voldemort had turned. He saw her, she thought. She could have sworn his eyes lingered upon her body, almost analyzing her, even if it was only a second.

Hello, loves. Long time, no story. I am really sorry about that. I ran into a dead-end on my other story, writers block ig. Anyways, this is one of my other favorite drafts, and I really enjoy how I planned this one, so hopefully, you will all like it. This first chapter outlines many important points in the story, and will also most likely be heavily edited in the future. However, I thought I may as well publish it today.

Love ya! and Please Please REVIEW!
