The morning sun made its way throw the windows all around the house, today started off decently. Her eyes fluttered opened around six thirty to seven, but it wasn't until around eight she got out of bed. She was still tired but knew she couldn't lay in bed all day like she wanted to, she had to get up. The first thing she did was brushed out her hair, felling to lazy to but it up she let it stay down. After that she brushed her teeth and got changed into some dark blue jean shorts and a blue white top. Her hair fell just a little above her knees, with it being so long and thick she just didn't bother with it at times. Checking herself out in the mirror she walked out of the room and down the stairs to the living room. Italy wasn't up yet, she could hear him lightly snoring as she passed his room. The only one up, besides her, was Romano who was sitting on the couch with a bowl of tomatoes watching some TV. Pushing her hair over her shoulder, so she wouldn't sit on it, she sat down on the couch and smiled at him.
Romano was in the middle of watching something in TV when he heard some movement coming from upstairs. A little after that the noise move to the stairs then into the living room, now it was sitting next to him. With a tomato in one hand and a remote in the other he glanced over to the side at the one and only girl in the house. Her hair was down and really long, she turned to met his eyes then smiled say a good morning to him. He quickly said one back before flipping the channel to something else. As Vanessa sat there she stared at the screen, for a good ten minutes she just stared then realized she understood nothing. The whole things was in italian, which made since they were in Italy after all. The house was quiet for a while Vanessa and Romano watched TV, even thought she understood nothing, and Italy was still sleeping.
A little past nine the happy Italian came bouncing into the room, a smile glued onto his face. He said a good morning and went into the kitchen for something to eat, it didn't surprise her when he came out with pasta. Vanessa sat there playing with the apps on her phone while the other two watched the TV, Italy would giggle every now an then. On the other hand Romano stared at it with a blank face. She found it funny that he was like that, and she didn't believe he was always like that it was probably because they where around. She sat the phone down on the table before making her way into the kitchen, she was starting to get a little hungry. Looking throw the fridge and cabinets nothing she saw was appealing to her at the moment. In a sigh of defeat she walked back over to the living room sitting down, Midnight was now sitting on the floor next to Romano.
She smiled calling the dog over to her, walking over he placed his head on her lap and his tail wagged a little. Vanessa started off rubbing his head and cooing to him in german, the two italians watching her. Midnight gave a little huff of a bark before standing up and turning in a circle.
"Vhat? Do you need to go outside?" with that he barked again, she got up and followed him out into the open yarded letting him run off. She sat on the back porch, the warm morning air blowing her hair just slightly, pushing it off her neck. She had always loved the wind blowing throw her hair, just hated that if it was to strong it would tangle her hair. Midnight came running back five minutes later, he was happily bouncing around the yard, letting his owner know he wanted to play. She stood up walking out into the yard and started to chase him, thought it seemed impossible since he was so fast. Berlin-cat was sitting on the railing of the porch watching the two, her tail swaying back and forth. She jumped in surprise as a gentle hand softly stroked her fluffy, soft, thick fur. She looked up in surprise the cat eyes meeting the honey brown ones that belong to Romano.
He just stood there petting her for a minute before his eyes drifted off to watch the cats owner running around. She always seemed to play around with the dog a lot, mostly since it was the only thing welling to play with her. It was also entertaining when you have nothing to do. She grabbed a random tennis ball throwing it as far and hard as she could watching as the large dog runs after it. Her head turned slightly, she smiled while giving the italian a wave before going back to throwing the ball for her dog.
A couple of days flew by, and Vanessa was sitting in her room at the Italian's house slowly brushing out her hair. She sat in a chair with her long blonde hair draped over her shoulder, the brush lazily being pulled throw the hair. Her eyes where closed, she was to tired and to lazy to open them up to look a what she was brushing. It was probably around eleven at night, Midnight was laying down by the bed while the cat was on the bed. The day had gone by so fast, it always seems to do that when you're having fun. She spent the day running around with the two brothers going here and there doing little fun things. After all the walking around it kind of tires a girl out, even one who is trained by her german brother.
Throwout the whole day there seemed to be that lingering feeling like it was ether going to rain or storm that day. Well, the chose has been made, after finally putting down the brush a loud crack of thunder erupted from the sky. Both animals heads shot up, Midnight was fine with storms as long as he was with Vanessa or someone else. Berlin-cat on the other hand was not so happy about the storm. She jumped off the bed with a loud meow and ran straight into Vanessa's arms digging deep into her night shirt.
"Ow, come on kitty, its just a little storm" she said softly to the frighten cat clinging to her for dear life. Rolling her eyes she quickly tied her hair up and held the cat close as she crawled into the bed. Just as she pulled the blankets up someone knocked on the door then opened it before she could answer.
"What the hell-a was that noise?" a half naked Romano asked standing by the door, she just looked down at the cat who was still clinging to her.
"Just my cat being a little baby, she hates storms" as another crack of thunder boomed the cat jumped and ran straight out the room and disappeared. The blonde sighed and shrugged it off, it happens all the time during a storm back home.
"You gonna go-a find her?" he asked walking closer before sitting on the bed next to her, she shock her head and leaned against the back board.
"Nah, she'll be find, she goes to find a night closed in place to hide"
"Alright, then get some sleep, good night"
"Gute nacht (good night)" she called back bouncing down onto her side pulling the blankets to her as the door shut behind her. Midnight jumped up onto the bed and starched out across the other half, making himself comfortable.
About two hours into the night the storm showed no signs in calming down anytime soon. Unlike most people Vanessa couldn't sleep during storms, they made to much noise for her liking. She just laid their with her eyes closed trying her bed to fall asleep. She was more then tired but there was nothing she could do, if only she could control the weather. Finally she got up and walked down the stairs and into the living room to watch some TV in hopes that the storm would blow over soon. She made sure that the volume was turned down low so she didn't wake the other two in the house. But like a weird he was, Romano awoken and made his way down the stairs and stopped at the bottom when he heard the TV.
He had a feeling it was Vanessa since he has caught her more then once down here from sleepless nights. He was right, as soon as he walked into the living room she was lazily sitting on the couch dead pinning the TV.
"What are you-a doing up?"
"I cant sleep during storms for some reason" she answered with out even taking her gaze off the screen. Romano turned around and grabbed a blanket from the closet before walking into the room again and sitting down. He grabbed her arm pulling her down into his body, laying her head on his chest and wrapping them both in the blanket. She didn't say anything, but blushed brightly from shock.
"Try-a to get some sleep" all she could do was nod her head and close her eyes, he leaned down kissing her forehead before turing off the TV and closing his eyes. Before she knew it she fell right to sleep, from his warm embrace to the sound of his heart blocked out all the noise from the storm. Romano keep his eyes closed but his hair played with a few lose strands of hair from her bun. Once he knew she was asleep he allowed himself to start drifting off into the dark world of the sleeping. It wasn't long before the sun started to make its way into the sky lighting up the whole town. One by one people started to awaken and move about like they usually did, making the city lively.
Vanessa burred her face deeper into Romano's chest trying to block out the sun that was coming in. Unlike her, Romano couldn't keep the sun out of his eyes he sighed and moved his arms over his eyes to help shield the sun. Slowly his beautiful honey brown eyes opened and casted downward at the girl sleeping soundly on his chest. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, leaning down he kissed the top of her head and held her close. Her eyes opened at his touch, slowly she tilted her head up to meet his eyes.
"Good morning" she half whispered, sleep drenched in her voice
"Yea, good morning" Vanessa pushed herself up rubbing her eyes as did Romano, the two sat in silence for a few minutes. That is until Vanessa leaned over and kissed his cheek then laid her head on his shoulder. A bright red blush crossed his face
"What-a the hell was that-a for?" he asked stuttering a little
"For helping me sleep last night, if it wasn't for you I would of stayed up all night" the storm had passed some time around six in the morning. He didn't say anything and didn't try to push her off him, it was comforting to him. Romano laid his head down on top of hers the blanket still wrapped around them making their body's stay close together. No one said anything, no one moved, and no one made an attempt to leave their position. Vanessa moved her hand so that way it was tangled into Romano's, to her surprise he didn't move but held back. This made her smile brightly.
Italy peeked from around the corner and smiled, he knew it was only a matter of time before they would be an official couple. He tip toed back up the stairs to his room and pulled out his phone texting Germany everything that just happened. Italy didn't want to ruin what was going on downstairs so he stayed in his room, that is until he got hungry. As soon as he started walking down the stairs movement came from the living room. Vanessa was now sitting on one end of the couch while Roma was sitting on the other end, the TV was now on. Vanessa looked over and smiled up at the happy go lucky Italian
"Good morning Feli! How'd you sleep?" she asked
"Ciao buongiorno! (hello good morning) I sleep great! How-a about you?" he asked walking over sitting down on the couch next to the one she was sitting on.
"I had an amazing sleep, very comfortable" she answered back with a smile then a giggle, Italy joined in on her giggling. Romano rolled his eyes standing up making his way into the kitchen, his arms crossed over his chest.
"I'm-a going to make breakfast" with that he disappeared behind the door that lead to the kitchen, as soon as he left Vanessa's cat came crawling out from under the couch. Italy and Vanessa continued to chat with one another while Roma was in the kitchen cooking. It was about twenty minutes later before the older man came walking throw the door. He told them to come with him the food was done, they followed him and sat down at the table. While his brother and Vanessa talked he sat there and listened to the stupid conversation they where having. The two where having a debate about who's favorite TV show was better. Vanessa was convinced that her crime shows where better then Italy's reality shows, Romano didn't care ether way.
The rest of the day went on like any other normal day, a walk around town, watched a couple of movies, had lunch, watched more movies. There was nothing else much to do, that is until Italy got an idea, one that he knew was going take some convincing.
"Hey why dont-a we all go-a to the beach! Its-a hot and perfect weather for-a swimming!"
"Really! Zhat sounds like so much fun!" Vanessa chirped
"You-a two go ahead, I'll-a stay here" both of them turned around and yelled no at him at the same time.
"Come on fratello! Come-a with us!"
"Yea! Come on Lovi! Don't be such a party pooper!" she grabbed his arm dragging him up the stairs with the help of Italy as well, he was struggling and screaming. He eventually just gave up and let them drag him to his room before being shoved in by the two. They told him to get dressed then ran off into their own rooms to get ready themselves. Both brothers only took about five minutes to get ready, it took Vanessa about ten minutes. She throw her bag over her shoulder and walked down to met the boys, they where waiting for her. Romano and Italy where wearing the same trunks, both colored like the Italian flag, only Italy wore a red shirt while his brother had a white one. They couldn't see what she was wearing just yet since she had on a long shirt with some shorts to cover her self.
"Lets go!" the drive to the beach was only about ten maybe fifteen minutes, when they got there it was like any other beach. There was people all over the place, some where playing volleyball, others where swimming, some even tanning. As soon as Romano parked the car Italy jumped out and headed straight for the water leaving the two alone. Vanessa heard Romano calling his brother in idiot under his breath causing the girl to let out a giggle. She grabbed her bag as Romano grabbed his and Italy's, she walked over and grabbed his hand pulling him off to find a spot to lay the stuff. After finally finding a clear spot they set their stuff down and Vanessa set out a towel for later.
"Vanessa come swimming with me!" Italy called as he raced up to met his brother and best friend,
"Alright, give me a second" she reached down grabbing her shirt before pulling it over her head and then pulling her shorts off. Romano's eyes widen when his eyes laid on her, she was in a two piece bikini colored as the german flag. She smiled brightly and followed Italy down to the water, the waves crashed against her, which made her laugh. Romano couldn't take his eyes off of her, she was stunning and he wanted her to be his. This thought came random to him but he knew he couldn't let anyone else have her. She then turned around snapping him out of his thoughts, she waved for him to come over and join them. He took off his shirt before slowly making his way down to the water to met up with them. A few hours later Vanessa was laying out on her towel with Romano sitting right beside her with an umbrella covering them.
She sat up a few minutes later pulling her knees close to he chest and scooted closer to Romano. He looked over and raised his brow at her, but she just smiled up at him and scooted closer until their sides were touching.
"Come on... admit it already" she cooed, he didn't say anything but stared down at her looking into her eyes "come on Lovi, admit you're glad ve dragged you here"
"Oh, yea sure, whatever you-a want to believe" his attention went back to the water, the sun was starting to set over the horizon, like in those crappy cliché romantic movie. Most of the people who where there had already left or where starting to leave as the sun started to set. She wrapped her arms around Romano's arm and rested her head on his shoulder taking in a deep breath. Italy had agreed to go and get dinner so the three could have a picnic on the beach, so they where alone. He looked down at the girl, with out even thinking his free hand reached over and lifted up her face by her chin. His face started to lean in closer and closer to her face, Vanessa closed her eyes and waited for his lips to met hers. But just as they where just inches away from each other the sound of a car pulling up caused the two to push away from the other. Italy came running over to them with bags of food, he plopped down in front of them and set the bags down. Vanessa smiled like she always did and Romano put on his mean face, they ate and swam a little more before heading back home for the day.
The sun just started to set as they pulled up into the drive way of the sandy colored house. The overly hyper italian was the first to jump out and run inside, again leaving the other two to grab the bags. Being to lazy they just left it in there for the night and get it tomorrow, so they went inside the house. Vanessa yawned before making her way to the stairs,
"Vell I'm going to take a shower and pry to god I didn't get to bad of a sunburn" she sighed that last part then finished walking up to her room and into the bathroom to wash away all the sand and salty water. After stepping out the shower she put on a tank-top and some shorts walking back into her room. Out from under the bed Midnight crawled looking up at her with his doggy eyes. She bent down and petted his head "oh gosh I'm sorry honey I didn't leave you anything to eat, well come on lets go eat". Both of them jumped up and ran for the door, then down the stairs, and to the kitchen to the dog's food dish. She poured in the food letting him eat while she put it away, the little almost kiss with Romano played throw her head. It was like it was stuck there and was never going to leave, she had wanted it to happen but like always something had to mess it up.
A smile had made its way to her face with out her even realizing it was there, along with it was a small light pink blush. Vanessa was lost in her thoughts, she didn't even notice that someone had walked in and was now standing by her. It only hit her when a tannish hand was waved in front of her face snapping her back to reality. Her eyes casted up at her grumpy Italian friend, who's face was actually soft instead of mad. She gave him a smile like always, Midnight walked over, after finishing his food, and laid his head on her stomach. He ether did this because he was hungry or because he needed to go outside. So, she walked over opening the screen door letting the massive dog out before bed.
"Your-a dog is weird..." she giggled
"I know, zhat is vhy he is mine" They remained quite the rest of the time only saying a few words here and there. After Midnight finished they went back inside and up the stairs heading for Vanessa's room. Romano stopped by the door and looked down, his face was turning red. She walked over and gave him a weird look "are you ok?" he didn't say anything but walked closer shutting her door behind him. Her eyes widened as his warm lips pressed softly against hers, his arms wrapped around her waist. It took her a couple of seconds but she finally realized what was going on and kissed him back. Her arms made their way around his neck and one hand into his hair, and pressing her lips a little harder on his. The kiss was very brief, after only a few seconds Romano pulled away a smile on his face.
"Good night bella" he whispered
"Good night Lovi" she whispered back, he leaned in once more giving her another brief kiss before leaving and heading back to his own room. A huge smile plastered her face as she ran over to her bed jumping on it squealing to herself. Did he really just kiss her or was she just dreaming, the feeling of his soft lips still lingered on hers. Right now she was the happiest girl in the world, she found it pretty easy to fall asleep that night.
