Bright red eyes snapped open at the sound of a knock on her door, she sat up groaning then rubbed her eyes. Not waiting for an answer the door squeaked open, the girl let out a soft yawn before glancing over at the clock on the night stand. 10:30. Her eyes widened, she had never sleep that long in her entire life, even if she wanted to. Her attention was drawn back to who knocked on the door, a small smile crossed her pale face.

"It-a time to get up, lazy" Romano said walking over sitting on the bed next to her, she only nodded before laying her head on his shoulder. Leaning his head on hers he kissed it softly wrapping his arms around her thin waist. Her eyes casted up meeting his honey brown ones, slowly the space between them got smaller and smaller until there was non left. Their lips met for a soft passionate kiss before pulling away a smile on their faces.

"Good morning to you to, Romano" she whispered starting to get up and make her way to the bathroom to get dressed and do her morning routine. The whole time she was doing her normal morning thing, Romano just sat there on the bed waiting for her to get done. His face burned bright red as certain thoughts filled his mind, he shock his head pushing them away and taking a deep breath. The bathroom door opened and out walked the long haired, blonde, red eyed German girl brushing out her long hair. She was now dressed in a black tank-top and grey skinny jeans, her long hair was down this time falling perfectly behind her. It amazed him how long she grew her hair out, most girls only had it about mid back or sometimes shorter then that. But not Vanessa, no, her hair was much longer reaching almost to the floor. Romano watched as she brushed out her hair putting her brush on the table and walking over to the bed sitting down next to him. She faced him smiling, his hand reached out taking a strand of her blonde locks and held it out so that way it reached the other end of the bed.

"How-a the hell do you take care of all-a this damn hair?" Vanessa giggled taking her hair back pushing it behind her ear again and shrugged.

"It's not zhat hard if you know vhat you're doing. Besides I love how long it is and short hair does not vork for me, at all" she leaned in laying her head on his shoulder and toke in his scent, he smelled like pasta and tomatoes. Romano wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him, she smiled and nuzzled into his neck happily.

"We-a should go back down stairs before my-a stupid fratello wakes up" he whispered softly to her, she sighed but nodded and got off the bed following the talker man down the stairs and into the kitchen. Vanessa sat at the table while she watched Romano move about in the kitchen, she smiled to herself and was glad she came here. Thinking about it she hadn't seen her cat or dog since she woke up, they weren't in the room with her when she woke up. Standing up she started to walk around the house looking for her animals but didn't find a single sign of them. She started to get worried, with her worry bad thoughts started to fill her mind. The last place she looked was the back yard and still they where no where to be found, the only place she didn't cheek where Feliciano and Romano's rooms. But why would they be in there? Sure her cat could, Feli loves cat so it was a possibility that she was but what about Midnight, he never leaves her side while she sleeps. Sighing she walked back to the kitchen just as Romano was setting the table; he looked up at her and raised a brow.

"Have you seen my animals Lovi?" she asked concern filled her voice

"Your-a cat was in my room when I woke-a up and still was- last time I cheeked. But I-a haven't seen your mutt" she frowned, of course she was happy to hear her cat was still here but what about her dog it wasn't like him to just disappear. She nodded and sat down, as she did so Italy came bouncing in happily, he was dressed casually, a simple white shirt and a pair of jeans.

"Morning!" he called sitting down on the other side of the table Romano just glared at his brother and dug into his food. Vanessa returned the jester before eating again, all she could think about was her dog that she couldn't find. For some people it wasn't that big of a deal, they would just be like "we'll look for it later or put up posters" and it would be over with. But not Vanessa her animals where her world, and she had Midnight for a very long time longer then any normal dog. Midnight was about twenty four in human years and that was a lot older then what he should have been, but she wasn't complaining. Being that old was what made Vanessa really worried, what if he had ran off and died some where and she didn't know. Sadly she had now idea just how true her last thought was.

After eating she decided that she was going to go looking for her dog, she didn't care if she got lost of if the brothers helped her she just wanted to find him. Vanessa slipped on her converse and opened the door to the hot summer air. Just as she was about to walk out of the door the Italian brothers came over calling her name stopping her in her tracks.

"Hey-a where are you-a going Berlin?" Italy called running over standing by her, Romano didn't say anything but followed and stood in front of her.

"I'm going to look for my dog" she said looking back out the door "I know he has to be around somewhere"

"Well, then I'll-a go with you!" Italy chirped before running over and throwing on his shoes, Vanessa smiled and nodded she looked up at Romano. He smiled softly and nodded, they followed her out the house and down the street, the three split up and went different ways. Romano went to the part a block away, Italy went around the center of town to look, and Vanessa walked around the near by streets. It was the only place she could go and not get lost to badly. She spent about an hour walking up and down the streets calling for her dog but didn't find or hear anything. Deep in the back of her mind she knew that she wouldn't be seeing him alive again, Vanessa did her best not to cry. She stopped in the street to pull her phone out, it was about twelve in the after noon and there was no sign of her dog.

"Vanessa!" she turned around to meet the younger Italian running her way, when he caught up he bent down slightly taking deep breaths. Once his breath was normal he stood up straight and looked at her sadly, she tilted her head at him head at him and it wasn't often Italy didn't smile. He reached out grabbed her hand and began to drag her off towards the park where Romano was searching. Once they reached it they walked all the way back to where the forest met the park, Vanessa could see Romano standing there looking down sadly. He noticed her walking closer so he tilted his head to the left; her eyes slowly followed his head tilt and fell upon a black figure. Tears began to over flow from her eyes, her knees got weak and could not support her body any more, and she crumbled to her knees.

"No… god please no…" she whispered her tears turned into a violent sobbing and she burred her face into her hands, there was no reason to hold it back anymore. Both brothers kneeled down in attempt to comfort their crying friend, but it didn't really work nothing could comfort her about this. She had just lost her best friend of twenty four years, that's a long time and a big lose to her. It was going to take a while to get over the fact that he was gone, the sad thing was he didn't even seem like it was his time. Well, it actually is a good thing because that means it wasn't suffering, but Vanessa didn't even get to say goodbye to him. What was she going to do now? Who was she going to play with when she was board out her mind? Romano wrapped his arms tightly around her and held her close letting the girl cry into his chest, he didn't care that his shirt was getting wet. Right now all that mattered was comforting this girl that he loved so much, he hated to see her so upset like this. Softly he ran his hand throw her hair and whispering in her ear telling her everything is going to be alright or that he was sorry.

Italy smiled softly and patted her back rubbing it softly; he didn't want to get to involved it was better to let his brother handle it. Nether one of then could image what she was going throw, they hadn't lost someone so important to them is such a long time. Grandpa Rome was the last person they had lost, for Italy it was also Holy Rome who happened to be one of Vanessa's brothers. Italy stood up and looked down sadly at his brother and best friend,

"Come on Vanessa, lets go home-a"
