This is the last chapter for These Twisted Games. I just want you to know that there is a sequel in the mix and the first chapter will be posted as soon as my Co-writer and I have worked out all of the details. I have always thought that the first chapter is the foundation of a good story. The sequel is called "Rebellious Twist". Please read it and enjoy the last chapter for These Twisted Games.

Chapter 16

The guys agree, they need to stick together and protect the girls. Peeta goes to Clove while Cato sticks with Katniss. Later that evening the guys pack a backpack with clothes, food and weapons just in case. Cato has her bow at the ready for her while having his sword at the ready. Likewise the others do the same with their special weapons. Katniss isn't sleeping.

"Katniss? Talk to me."

"The Mocking Jays aren't Mocking."

Peeta has Clove go by Katniss while Cato Grabs his sword as the bombs go off...

Cato POV

They all look up and see the bombs explode against the force field Cato and Peeta rushed over to stand in a protective stance in front of the very pregnant Clove and Katniss.

No one had the time to think about what a shock it was that Cato had finally stepped up to protect his family.

Next thing everyone knew was that all of the mutt that were set up for this years games were released and heading to towards the group of tributes that are standing at the mouth of the cornucopia.

'How am I going to keep Katniss and my girls safe and survive this myself?'

Then it hit Cato.

"Those of you not in battle help get Foxy, Clove, Haylie, and Katniss on top of the cornucopia. Then you should get back into the battle against the mutts. DO IT NOW! They are almost here."

Katniss POV

Peeta leads us four girls to the side and Henry puts his hands together to help the girls get on top of the cornucopia. The first one to go up was Katniss who at once started shooting her arrows.

"Peeta, I am going to need more arrows. At this rate, I will run out within the next ten minutes."

"Katniss, I am kind of busy trying to help the others up there."

"Here Katniss. Catch."

"Thanks Thresh. Cato watch out!"

She lets the arrow fly and hits the mutt that was coming up behind him strait in the eye. Cato turns around sees what has happened.

"Thanks Fire girl. I owe you even more."

Once this is over, you know I am going to take you up on that.

She scans the grounds and sees that Marvel and Glimmer are in a bind and that they are surrounded by a pack of dog like mutts. She nocs and arrow and lets it fly. She fires another and then another until Glimmer and Marvel have everything under control.

She turns back to Cato and Peeta who are fighting back to back. They seem to be protecting each other. Katniss can't hear what they are saying but there are smiles on their faces.

She feels a sharp pain in her abdomen and doubles over with a scream. Foxy rushes to her and starts to asses her.

Foxy

Yes Cato

What is going on? Is she okay?

Well give me a minute and I will tell you. I just got to her.

Foxy then asks me what hurts.

The babies. They are not moving and I am having cramps. I am so scared, but I have to have Cato's back.

Katniss, I have his back. Don't worry just concentrate on the twins.

Listen to Peeta Fire Girl. We got this. Take care of our girls. I will be okay and so will everyone else.

With that she started to try to calm down. The pains started to come harder and the girls are trying to get the situation on top of the cornucopia under control.

Just then there was another explosion coming from the north side of the arena. It was coming from the north side of the arena. There was smoke.

'Oh god. What now? Isn't enough that I could possibly be going into premature labor.'

Then another painful cramp wracks my body.

Everything goes blank.

Cato POV

What is going on?

Is this the Capitol's idea of a grand finally?

I here people telling Katniss to calm down and to try to relax as best she can. Yeah right! Fire Girl listen to others when those she cares about are in danger.

Ha!

Then I here them:

Katniss! Katniss wake up! Katniss!

Cato, we need you up here!

Clove I am kind of indisposed at the moment.

Cato, go I got you.

Thanks Peeta.

I get up to go when a strange creature comes running at us. It is a mixture of a bear and a mountain lion. What the fuck is the president doing with these animals?

I turn around and rush back to Peeta to try to help him but when I get there I see that Glimmer, Marvel, and Thresh have already reached him and Marvel yells:

Cato get to Kitty! We got you!

I rush to the cornucopia again and then again I am attacked by a wild dog. Damn it I can't catch a break. I grab a knife that was laying on the ground and went to stab the dog in the throat. That didn't work. The dog is now biting my arm and leaves inch deep gashes in my forearm. I go again for the throat and I slit the animal's throat I see that there is a knife sticking strait through the eye.

I look up and see that Clove has came to help from on top of the cornucopia. She just smiles at me as she goes to help me up.

Clove back away, I got it. Where did you learn to aim like that?

Wouldn't you like to know. Now get over to her. She is out cold.

I walk over to Katniss and I see blood staining her pants. I am so worried and scared, yes I was scared. I grab her hand and feel that it is sweaty. She has sweat pouring down her face.

Someone I need blankets and some water. We need to get these clothes off and see where the blood is coming from. We also need to stop the bleeding.

I get up and head to the side I just climbed up on. I got down and went to get the stuff needed to help Katniss. This is done with no more incidents and I get back to Katniss. She is still laying there unconscious and it is beginning to scare me even more.

I strip her down to her bra and lay the blankets over her so people will not see her nakedness. Foxy takes a flash light and lifts the blanket so that she can access the damage done to Katniss. When she is finished, she covers Katniss back up and looks at me.

Cato, she is bleeding from her vagina. I need for you to get a hold of her mentor and get her some meds that make the bleeding to stop. She has not lost the babies though she may if we do not get her help now.

I look up hoping the mentors could still hear us

Brutus, Haymitch please send something for Katniss. I don't know how much longer her or the babies will be able to hold on. She has a fever and now there is bleeding. I don't normally as or even beg for help, but this is for my girls ALL THREE OF THEM. Please if you can hear me please send something to save them. Please. I beg of you. I can't lose them. Not when I just barely realized that my feelings for Katniss are stronger that I can understand. I need her and our girls to help keep me on the track that I have started to become a better person and future husband and father that my own father was.

I hear a tinging and look up. I grab the parachute and open it. In it is two pills and a note.

Cato:

You have finally seen what I was trying to teach you. Here are two pills. One is the fever relief and the other is to stop Katniss's bleeding. As you know she has been under a lot of stress. This has caused the event of her condition. When you get out of there, we need to talk. Rescue is on the way actually look up and see your surprise.

Brutus

I look up and I see a very welcomed sight. I see the other tributes being taken to a hovercraft. I see Gale and even Prim running to the cornucopia. Prim help Foxy with medical situations and Gale helping the injured through the woods to the hovercraft. I walk to the cornucopia with the pills.

I hand them to Prim as she helps the unconscious Katniss. She smashes up the pills and puts them in a syringe with some type of solution. She sticks the needle into her arm and presses the plunger.

She looks at me and says:

I told you if you hurt my sister or any child she bares I will destroy you. If my sister did not need my attention right now, I would take that knife that is in your hands and slit your throat when you are asleep. I cannot stop my sister from being with you but you have to know that you have a lot to prove not only to Katniss and my nieces but to our whole family that you truly want to change. Next time you are confused do not wait so long to ask for help.

We reached the hovercraft with no problems. I followed Prim and Katniss to medical. I hear Glimmer, Foxy, and Haylie ask about their babies. They were so upset. I wanted to tell them that it will be okay, but I learned the hard way that it doesn't matter the situation you never tell a woman pregnant or not that they are going to be okay.

I go to sit by Katniss's bed and grab her hand. Prim will not leave. She is keeping a vigilant over Katniss in case anything should happen.

We feel the hovercraft jerk and I put my body over Katniss's sleeping form to protect her and our daughters from further damage. The turbulence has passed five minutes later.

Prim, I will be right back I am going to go see what just happened.

I walk out of medical and ran into someone. This person was the same build and was a bit taller than me. I look into his eyes and that is when I recognized him.

My own brother.

"What the fuck are you doing here"?
