The couple had made the decision to handle business before taking a vacation just the two of them. Teddy was getting close to the end of the term. They were going to pull him and transfer him to a private school in Vermont. Olivia had them vetting the schools now.

Mellie had recently left on a three-week international tour so getting a phone to the nanny was easy. Fitz spoke with his son and assured him that he would see him soon.

Olivia was walking around their home still in shock that he had done all of this for her. This home was bigger with nine full baths and 12 bathrooms. The property sat on 115 acres. This was indeed a forever home. They could add down the road if need be, but she did not think it would be needed. She loved they were in the middle of ski country. She never thought she would say it, but she loved to ski. Fitz had planned many secret dates for them during their first campaign run. One of them was in Dever he first introduced her to skiing. The first day she declined, but she finally agreed. She loved it. It was exhilarating, and now it was in her backyard it seemed. Fitz had a whole room dedicated to nothing but snow equipment. Their pool was made of natural stone which was everything. They had a 2-hole golf course. Fitz insisted she learns. He told her it would help her business. Men loved to talk business while playing golf. She didn't take him seriously at first, but again he was right. She needed to keep practicing her swing. She loved the stone fireplaces, especially in their master bedroom. The walls of glass of views were to die for. You could spend a whole day just looking out.

Fitz took a moment to enjoy watching her in their home. Despite handling business every day each night, they turned off their phones and spent quality time with each other. Some nights were date nights and other nights they made a bed by the fireplace where they would make love and talk about everything and nothing.

She turned and walked into his arms. He kissed her forehead. Are you okay?

I am perfect. I am in your arms. We are going to have a little guy with us soon enough, and work will keep us busy.

Fitz was shocked but pleased. It was refreshing to be able to talk to his best friend.

Before Fitz could say anything, her phone rang. She picked it up and put it on speaker. What did you get?

Quinn answered I have sent all the packets to your emails. Everything is set for your trip. We have narrowed the school choices down to two. Huck said both would work for him. My lawyers have looked over the paperwork for the sale of OPA officially. Liv, are you sure about the sale price? I do have money saved and I can get a loan.

Quinn, we have had our difficulties, but no matter what I have done you have always been there for me even when I did not deserve it. The only reason I am charging you the dollar is to make it legit. Besides, I am still a silent partner.

I know. I will always be there for you guys which is why I am remaining a silent partner, but I am ready to start this new chapter with Fitz. It is time I do some real good.

Fitz asked Quinn about the nannies. Fitz had reached out to the nanny that had taken care of Karen and Jerry. Although she had retired her daughter Rebecca had followed in her mother's footsteps. Rebecca was currently in college studying pre-law. They had agreed to pay for all her schooling. They were not going to need her full-time because they promised each other they would raise their kids. Rebecca would have plenty of time to complete her schoolwork. They were offering her a full-time salary although she would be working part-time. It was an offer she could not turn down.

They spoke with Quinn to get a couple more things sorted out before they ended the call. It was time for them to head to the airport for their nine-hour flight to Italy.

The couple made it to the jet and got comfortable. They did not say much. They just enjoyed being in the presence of each other. Once the seat belt light went off the couple moved to a lounge chair and lunch was brought out to them.

While they were eating Fitz looked at Olivia, I need to ask you something and I need you to let me finish.

I just want to make sure that you are okay with what our lives are going to be like when we come back. Especially parenting. The mistake that I made in the past is not listening. I know you love all of me and that includes the children, but I am asking you to become a full-time parent.

I look forward to what we are building, and I want to add to our family. I realized that I want the dream, Fitz. I want all of it. I know we are older, but I still think we can do it.

After finishing lunch, the couple decided to take a nap before getting ready for their meeting with Mellie.

Mellie had no idea that the couple was headed to Italy. Huck hacked into the system and added a lunch. She thought she was meeting with single mothers who were entrepreneurs. The press would be there, but their schedule only stated a luncheon.

Once the couple arrived at the restaurant a statement was released that since the couple was in Italy the former President wanted to make sure that current President Mellie Grant was okay and provide her with any guidance that was needed.

Quinn made sure that the couple arrived at the restaurant first. Olivia had changed. She did not have her Olivia Pope gladiator suit on. Olivia wanted to look the part of First Girlfriend, and they were on vacation. No need to look formal.

The restaurant was nice enough to clear the patio for the luncheon. When Mellie walked in, she was prepared to be greeted by a group of single women, but there sat Fitz and Olivia. Mellie was thrown off not only by them being there but by how Olivia looked. She had never seen this look.

The couple stood when they saw Mellie. Olivia's hair was not bone straight on in a bun. She had cut her hair and colored it. It was styled in soft waves. She recognized the dress because it was fresh off the runway for the spring collection of Oscar de la Renta. She is wearing an ivory pleated pancy cloque mini dress. She had paired it with a pair of Jimmy Choo Bing shimmy crystal-strap pumps. She was wearing a pair of earrings that Fitz had gifted her for her birthday one year.

Something told Mellie to keep walking. The press was watching. Olivia made her way to her and reached out to hug her. Mellie had no choice but to hug her back.

Olivia whispered, If I were you, I would follow along because if not your Presidency is going to implode at this luncheon.

The better question is what you have been up to, but we will get into that once we are seated. Do not worry the press will only be able to capture your facial expression so it's game time Mellie.

Olivia stepped back so she could hug Fitz. All Mellie could do was smile.

Fitz's back was to the press. Olivia made sure that the press only saw her facial reactions.

Fitz stooped her, and Mellie knew that face. It was the fact that she had gone too far. Before you do all that know it is a new day. These conversations are going to go different. If you want to remain, President, you better keep in line. For every time you step out, I have personally arranged for Huck to leak information that will make your time in the office uncomfortable. Liv maybe my girlfriend now, but she is going to be my wife sooner rather than later, and you are going to respect her. I assure you that is the last time I ever you or your minions call Liv out of her name. Are we clear?

Now can we move on to the reason you two have me here?

Olivia nodded, officially we are here to make sure that you are okay, and Fitz is here to provide you advice and assistance if needed. Unofficially we are here to serve you with papers that will change the custody arrangements. Fitz agreed to go along with your single-parent plan if you did not treat Teddy like a pawn in your game. Before you lie, we have plenty of proof to show that you are still the same reckless and selfish mother that you have always been.

Olivia slid two envelopes over to her, the first one is to serve notice of the change of custody. The second one is for you to sign. Full custody is granted to us. You will have supervised visitation. He can attend four events with you every year. You can choose to be smart and know we will have someone there watching. It may be us. If you do not sign, we have retained Quinn as Teddy and Fitz's lawyer. I assure you that you do not want to go against Quinn in court.

Mellie was boiling over, but she saw the flashing cameras and knew that she had to keep it together.

Fine, how long do I have to sign?

Fitz said A courier is set to pick up the signed documents before the end of business tomorrow. If the documents are not signed, they have a direct line to Quinn to go nuclear on you. I am not sure your Presidency will survive, because I am prepared to go nuclear on you. You might even end up in jail.

Olivia was getting turned on listening to her man. That is why she voted for him. She knew deep down he had it in him.

Mellie had no words. There was no doubt it was a new day.

Fine, is there anything else? Can I be excused from this luncheon?

Fitz stood up and walked around to Mellie. She stood up and he reached over to hug her and whispered, yes you are excused but one more thing. I know you hired Samantha to try to get under Olivia's skin, but if a singe of her hair is out of place due to the two of you, I will fry both of you like a piece of fish for dinner. Understood?

Fitz pulled back and they shook hands while Mellie nodded as they allowed the press to take some pictures.

Fitz helped Olivia out of her chair, he leaned over to kiss her, and she obliged. The cameras were eating it up.

They made it out front where the vehicles were waiting for them. The camera captured more pictures including shots of the happy couple.

Mellie was sitting in her limo seething. Samantha was sitting across from her. What do you want me to do?

Mellie wanted to test them, but her gut told her not to. She had never seen this side of Fitz. He was Cyrus-like, and that was scary. She finally looked up at her, Nothing. Produce a statement that will not make me look bad when the press realizes that Teddy is no longer with me. I know they are going to keep the custody change private. If they wanted it public, they could have. Do not deviate from doing what I said, Samantha. Olivia is already lethal, but she has a Fitz beside her that is just as ruthless as she is. We cannot compete against them right now. Samantha nodded.

Fitz & Olivia were on their way to the resort to start their vacation. Olivia could not finally enjoy being in Italy. She could not wait to see what Fitz had in store for them.

Olivia leaned up and kissed him. "You are so sexy, and I am not just talking about your looks. Thank you for defending and taking charge.

Fitz looked in her eyes, that is what a real man does for the woman he loves. I am sorry for not doing it in the past, but I promise to protect you, Livvie. I know you can take care of yourself, but as your man I want you to feel safe and know that I got you.

I do baby. It happened later than either of us wanted, but we are living life on our terms, and it is going to be great.
