/beacon charging\
"The Beacon is being shredded! Get off your ass, Agent!"
The Agent was burning in his suit. A misplaced grenade had shattered his armour and set him alight. He was lying on his back, watching the Freaks attack the final weapon with interest.
Some bit the shield. Some pounded heavy fists against it and the single Goliath caused the ground to quake with each blow.
The Agent knew his duty, but couldn't get up. He wasn't human. Why did he have this limit? His biological readings flared. His heart rate was dropping, his approximate health bar shrinking. He'd have another chance, but he was so close now - he could see the bright blue light of the Beacon in between the mass of attacking Freaks. It was about 90%. The Agent could guess from the eight previous Beacons he had detonated.
He could also see the Beacon wouldn't take much more - the shield was thinning, growing red.
He managed to look at the Flak Turret near him. It had been in his hands seconds previously. He raised one arm, painstakingly dragging himself toward it. One shot would clear the Freaks - maybe a few more would kill the Goliath.
He was just about to it, his fingertips brushing the steel, when the suits visor blacked out and his fading consciousness was faced with an option.

He was still alive. He focused on the N. His suit came back to life, the armour trying to reknit itself. He pulled the turret into his hand.
"Agent, the Beacon can't take much more!"
The Agent fired into the crowd. The Freaks disintegrated as the massive explosion burnt their flesh like a Beacon would do when fully charged. The Goliath lived. It looked up for a moment, a fragment of intelligence buried in its monstrous form.
The Agent thumbed a Cluster Grenade. He had no intention of surviving now. The Beacon was seconds away from detonating, but also moments from breaking. With the last of his strength, the Agent leapt at the Goliath, bringing it down and holding the grenade up.
Blue light filled the room as the Agent and the titan Freak exploded at the same time as the Beacon.
"Burn, baby, burn!" the announcer called as the Agent picked the opposite option.

Deaths Rewritten - The Agent (Crackdown 2)
I'll probably do a second chapter, for the Tower Beacon. And that one will be longer. I wonder how many C2 fics are on this site?
(Spoilers - I laugh my head off at the ending of C2 by the way. 'Stop her, whatever it takes'- splat. Seriously. What superhuman jumps into a helicopter's blades?)
