Chapter 10: Noxian Unrest
Born into a world that always shuns you. That was the life of the Blood Brothers of Noxus.
Darius and Draven were born into a poor family. There parents were arrested for murder, leaving the two homeless, and orphans after the execution.
Darius, the older of the two, idolized the military of Noxus. While Noxus itself was an evil place, the military was shining light in a dark void. Darius worked diligently, and was eventually assigned to general Braclock, a famous tactician. Darius served loyally, until Braclock showed weakness.
When faced with a large force of Demacian troops. Braclock proposed a surrender. Sergeant Darius, his second in command, took it as an insult. In response, Darius took his axe, and killed General Braclock. Taking the initiative, Darius led the forces to victory.
Darius ordered Braclock to be carried back to Noxus in a coffin for burial. The soldiers complied, and Darius led them home.
Afterward, Darius was heavily scolded for killing a commanding officer, but rewarded for gaining such a key victory. As such, they gave Darius the promotion to General, and an even thirty lashes.
Having a high rank, drew him to politics. Studying, playing, and using it to his advantage. He became heavily studied, and began to favor reading before sleep. He learned to write, which until his promotion, he had never needed. He soon learned Swain's point of view for Noxus, and backed up Jerico Swain.
Draven, because his brother had helped support him for so long, fought for his life as well, but not with a blade.
Draven learned to read and write, along with learning the blade. But, instead of war, he used his skills to entertain. Noxus didn't like plays or theater. They preferred music and death.
Draven chose his path as an executioner, but choose to make his acts known. He had special axes forged, and wore furs instead of black cloth. His hair turned into a Mohawk and his beard neatly trimmed, he preformed his executions.
He gave each person a chance to run. And if they escaped alive, they would be absolved of their crimes. So far, zero have managed to escape.
Jarvan sighed. He looked at the clothes he was given.
Being under suspicion meant he couldn't wear his armor. So, they gave him a cloth shirt, wool pants, and leather boots.
He sat on the chair they provided him, waiting.
The door opened. "You have company," the guard said.
Jarvan's father walked in. The door closed behind him.
"Father," Jarvan said, standing.
King Jarven III raised his hand. "Sit, my son," he said. Jarvan nodded, and sat. "I must know if you are really innocent. If so, then this will be difficult."
"Father, I am innocent of this crime. If I wanted DuCouteau dead, I would have fought him with a blade, not poison."
King Jarvan nodded. "But this was the only way they would let me see you."
"What?" Jarvan asked. "Why?"
"Many believe you are guilty. And with things going this way, it won't be long before Noxus wants your head."
"But I am innocent!"Jarvan shouted. The chair fell back as Jarvan stood strait.
King Jarvan smiled. "Demacia's fire burns bright in you."His smiled vanished. "Please, keep yourself alive Jarvan."
He gave his son a hug, and left, the door shutting behind him.
"Prince Jarvan IV of Demacia,"the judge announced.
Jarvan took his seat as he had two times before, to plead his innocence.
"You stand accused of murder and breaking the pact set by the Institute of War, do you deny this?"
"Yes,"Jarvan said for the third time this day.
The judge nodded."Then let the trial commence."
After going over the evidence, people were brought up to claim to Jarvan's guilt. But, to no avail.
The day ended like the last trials, inconclusive.
Garen sighed."House Crownguard is suffering from this,"he told Katarina.
"My family as well,"she replied, annoyed.
Garen nodded."How are the trouble in Noxus being dealt with?"
Katarina sighed."We have captured the man who was behind the failed assassination of Swain, along with fifteen others involved. They have been hung and still rot on the gallows. Fifteen riots in the last week, centered by the want for Jarvan to be killed."
Garen nodded."Demacia is in uproar as well, but not as bad as Noxus by the sounds of it."
They were silent.
Kat sighed."What are we to do?"she asked.
Garen shrugged."Prove Jarvans innocence."He held out a hand."Together."
Kat smiled. She punched him in the shoulder."Twice I've ended up in your bed. I'm not doing it a third time."
Garen laughed."Not my intention, but fair enough."
The two laughed.
Talon couldn't help but smile.
Granted he didn't like Garen that much, but still, seeing Katarina smile made him smile as well.
He turned."Shen."
Shen nodded, taking off his mask.
"What do you need?"Talon asked.
"To talk,"he replied.
"About?"
"How the Kinkou can help you with Jarvan's... predicament."
Gren closed the folder.
"Grandmaster?"a summoner asked.
He sighed."Take this to the judge. I think were done here anyway."
The summoner nodded.
Gren smiled."Soon. with that evidence, Jarvan will be convicted, executed, and dealt with."
Talon's eyes were wide."The Kinkou wish to aid Demacia?"
"And Noxus,"Shen replied."For now at least."
"Explain,"Talon demanded
Shen nodded."The balance is off. Whoever framed Prince Jarvan is trying to take all power for themselves. We know Jarvan is innocent. And an innocent man put to death for a crime they did not commit is not balance. It is wrong."
Talon raised an eyebrow."Why not take this to Gren?"
"I don't know if we can trust the Grandmaster."
Talon nodded."I'm not alone then."He sat down."Tell me all you know, and I will decided if Lady Katarina should know or not."
Darius nodded."Understood Swain."
Swain turned to LeBlanc."Will the Black Rose stand by me?"
"Always,"she replied.
Swain nodded."Gather those you believe trustworthy. We will need all the aid we can get. But we can not let any of this escape to the Institute."
Both nodded, and left.
"I guess this is an act of war. But to who?"Swain sighed, and went back to work.
Shyvana sat by her bed, tears going down her face.
"Why are they prolonging this folly trial?"
Ahri was silent.
Can you please answer the guestion?"Shyvana asked.
Ahri put her head down."Do you not see?"
Shyvana sobbed a bit, but listened."Whoever is prolonging this is guilty the crime."
"W-why?"she asked, still sobbing.
Ahri smiled."To bring war between Noxus and Demacia. Claim the power. Maybe even rip down the Institute of War. Maybe the guilty is even here amoung us."
Shyvana, her eves more focused, looked into Ahri's."Your joking right?"
"Its only a theory."
Shyvana was silent, her eyes drying up."I need to contact Garen and the others."
Ahri nodded.
Shyvana explained it.
Ahri had gathered Garen, Xin Zhao, Galio, Ashe, Katarina, Talon, LeBlanc, Fiora, Pantheon, Leona, Soraka, Caitlyn, Kayle, Shen, Varus, and Jax.
They explained the situation in full.
When done, they were silent.
"What you propose is criminal,"Ashe stated.
"Do we have a choice?"Garen stated.
"I don't think we do,"Kat said back.
Leblanc nodded."Your right. We don't."
Kayle stood silent, her helmet in her arm.
Varus put a hand on her shoulder."Do you have any suggestions?"
Kayle shoke her head."None."
Jax put a hand to his mask."I'm in."
Everyone turned to him.
"Can anyone of you say its safe for Jarvan to be in the Institutes custody right now?"
Everyone was silent.
Kat sighed."They're right."
Everyone nodded.
"So its settled,"Shyvana said."We are breaking Jarvan out."
A laugh came at the door. everybody turned."We were right,"Gangplank said.
"You heard?"Talon asked.
Gangplank laughed."Heard and liked."
Talon readied his blade.
"Easy now laddy. I'm here to help."
"Why?"Jax asked.
"Easy,"he replied."Bilgewater suffers just as much as anywhere else."
After a minute, another voice came."Were behind you."
Vi stood there now.
Shyvana looked outside to see almost all the champions of the League. There were exceptions. Fiddlesticks, Nocturne, and others confined to their rooms.
The League backed the decision. Jarvan needed to be freed.
The trial took longer today.
New evidence, new witnesses who said they saw someone roaming the sewers of Zhan, and new accusations, which were quickly put to rest.
At the end, the judge was thinking.
Jarvan looked over to his father who looked sad.
He knew what was coming, but he still didn't feel good.
The judge sighed."With the evidence against you Prince Jarvan, it is sad, but we must face the facts. I hear by claim you, Jarvan Lightsheild IV, guilty of murdering General DuCouteau. And you are hear by sentenced to die."
The court room was silent as they led Prince Jarvan away.
The execution was set to take place in one year. On that day, Jarvan would be hung.
There would be no reseting the date, it was set. They decided to give him time to set his affairs in order though.
Jarvan sat there, tears streaming down his face.
Shyvana, upon hearing the news, grew angry, and wanted to kill everybody she saw. But she held back. Her and the other champions were alredy planning the escape.
Swain looked at his force."Will they be good?"he asked Darius.
Darius nodded."They will help you along the way to Jarvan."
Swain nodded."I know of the other Champions' plan, so we must hurry before they go through with it."
Leblanc nodded."Better four criminals than over fifty."
"In one month, we free Jarvan IV,"Swain told them.
I know its been a while, but enjoy.
School is making it difficult to think up the chapters.
