Tom is escorted down a hallway by agents, followed by Tails, Sophia, and Sonic. "Hey, come on. You can't just leave us in here!" Sonic protests while Sophia and Tails are still unconscious. "My friend is hurt and my girlfriend isn't waking up! They need a doctor, a vet, anyone!" His protests go ignored as one of them opens a door and Sonic turns around. "Tails, you gotta wake up, buddy. Please wake up," He pleads as he looks back at Tails. Then he sees Sophia. "Sunshine, please, are you okay? Can you hear me?"
Children are in the pool laughing while Maddie and Rachel look at the hotel in the distance. Already off the bat they see a couple of guards around...The two women glance at each other before hiding behind the bushes. "Alright. Game plan. I get inside the hotel and find where they're hiding Tom, Sophia, and Sonic."
"Okay," Rachel nods at her. "Then I find Randall, right? And then I squeeze the breath from his lying, deceitful, perfectly manscaped body!" Maddie stares at her weirdly while her sister just cackles. "I'm going through a lot right now. So let me process this my own way, okay?"
"Sure," Maddie agrees awkwardly at her, though is definitely a bit concerned. "Sure. No judgment," She opens up the yellow backpack.
"Should've brought a journal," Rachel looks around in worry and Maddie takes out a small gadget. "Okay...okay," Maddie hands it to her. "Is this meant to be a weapon? This is adorable," Rachel inspects the gadget.
Maddie looks at her own in confusion as neither of them know how to work them or what they're meant to do. "Pew, pew! Take that, Randall!" Rachel starts to think about finishing him off, imitating explosions with her mouth. "Run, Randall!"
"All right," Her sister takes away the gadget with a nervous smile, just thankful that Rachel never acted like that with Tom... "We're about to find out."
"All right! Let's go kick some booty," Rachel smiles widely and they both take off.
One of the guards looks over the bushes while the two move right past him from underneath. Rachel holds up her skirt as Maddie sneaks past the bar. Rachel takes a drink and Maddie looks back. "Rachel! No, Rachel!"
"In a minute," She stirs the drink and then takes a big sip before dumping the thing entirely, holding a lemon in her mouth.
They walk down a path surrounded by greenery, and one of the guards comes across them immediately. "Stop right there!"
The two freeze and Rachel waves a hand to her sister. "Get the bag."
Maddie throws one of the gadgets at the guard and it beeps. The guard looks up as he starts hovering off the ground, screaming. The two look up as he doesn't seem to be stopping... "He's gonna come back down, right?"
"I don't know," Rachel shrugs it off and they run, since they don't know how to reverse it. "Good luck!" She cries out to the man before they go over a bridge.
"Look. Sophia, Tom, and Sonic have to be inside," Maddie notes as there's a bunch of guards surrounding the building.
"I got a fiance to vaporize," Rachel points to the side and Maddie nods in understanding. "Watch your back, sis. And I'll make sure they know not to mess with my niece either."
"Okay," Maddie nods at her and they share a handshake before splitting up.
"RANDALL!" Rachel shouts in rage.
Maddie puts on the backpack, hopping over the railing and landing on the pathway. She calmly walks for a few seconds before a guard comes in out of nowhere. "We got her." She freezes on the spot upon seeing him. "Move in."
One agent comes in from the top of a staircase, pointing a gun at her. Then another one points a weapon and she looks at all three of them. "Okay..." She backs away, turning around to see another agent coming in. She gasps a bit as she turns around, and then suddenly a flying yellow thing comes in and knocks out a guard. He hits the other two and comes towards Maddie, who ducks as the last one hits the floor. She looks up to see who did that, and the hand catches it. Rachel looks on in shock as she was the one who threw it.
"I did not mean to do that!" She admits in awe. Maddie looks around rapidly, silently looking at her sister in thanks before running off. "Whoo!" Rachel turns around and goes off to find Randall.
Maddie then rushes off to find the trio.
Randall looks at the wedding ring he was going to put on Rachel's finger while standing in the reception area...and as he does, he starts to realize how wrong his actions were. It was all a ruse to find Sonic and by association Sophia...but he also spent so much time with her, building a relationship with her. He looks at the ice sculpture that they spent time picking out...
"Something bothering you, Agent?" The Chief asks him.
"I just feel a little guilty about what I did to Rachel, sir," He confesses sadly.
"Ah, don't worry about it. We'll send her a gift card," The Chief dismisses, holding a glass. "Now, I propose a toast." Randall reluctantly takes the glass. "To a perfectly executed operation."
The agent who had been subjected to the gravity device finally galls onto the table that holds the ice sculpture, breaking it into pieces. "Sir, we're under attack," He informs them both.
Suddenly they hear something, turning around. However, they see nothing, but do hear glass breaking. Randall slowly steps to the side to get a closer look, seeing Rachel driving around in a 'just married' golf cart...right towards him. "RANDALL, WIFEY'S HOME!" She screams in rage, cackling evilly. She knocks over some tables and heads straight for him.
"Oh, my god, Rachel," Randall says in fear, diving to the side. She then pulls on the lever to come to a stop on the dance floor. She slowly steps onto the floor while drinking a bottle of wine, the whole DJ area falling apart. She tosses the bottle as the area explodes behind her. She slices a thumb in front of her neck, looking right at him. "What. A. woman," He murmurs, both terrified and fascinated at the same time. He slowly gets onto his feet.
"You no good...low down...dirty, lying-"
"Rachel, just listen to me," Randall speaks calmly to her.
"What kind of twisted sicko tricks someone into a fake wedding?!" She demands to him.
A gun is heard clicking and they both turn to the Chief to see him pointing a taser gun right at her. "Party's over, Bridezilla. Stop right there." Randall looks between him and Rachel.
"You...son of a-"
"Have it your way," The Chief states, about to fire.
"NO!" Randall dives in front of Rachel as the chief fires. "Nooo!" He gets hit and then electrocuted, groaning in pain.
"Oh. Ugh. Oh!" Rachel winces, since that had to have hurt.
"Very disappointing, Agent Handel," The Chief looks down at him. Rachel takes out one of Tails' gadgets from her dress, pointing it right at him. "Ha! Is that supposed to be a weapon?" He mocks her, not intimidated in the slightest.
"I don't know, but we gonna find out."
"Haven't you caused enough trouble for one day?" The Chief questions in annoyance.
"I haven't even begun causing trouble," She declares at him. "Hell hath no fury like a bride scorned!" She points the weapon at the cake and fires, causing it to explode. The Chief drops his weapon as he realizes what he's dealing with. She then smiles, satisfied that for once, someone's shut him up. "Looks like it's real, huh? Ha ha!" He holds up his hands in surrender. "Whoa! Uh, ah, huh? No. Right," She walks up to Randall.
"Be honest...how bad is it?" He looks up at her.
"Not bad at all. You got tased, you'll be fine," She rolls her eyes.
He looks at himself and removes the taser coils. "I'm so cold..."
"You landed on our ice sculpture," She informs him. "Get up," He turns to the left to see that indeed there's ice all around him. She scoffs and tosses the weapon, turning around as he gets up. She then turns to him, angry but still wanting answers. "Just...just tell me...the truth, for once. Is there anything about you or about us that was...real?"
"Rachel..." He takes her hands. "Look at me. Before I met you, I didn't think that I was even capable of real happiness. But that all changed when you walked into my life. And I ended up breaking the first rule of undercover work."
"Which is?" She asks curiously.
"Never fall in love."
She smiles and pulls him for a kiss. He returns it as the plane from earlier flies past them and the sun shines next to them.
The door lock beeps, Tom and Sonic looking up as Maddie pushes open the door. "Maddie!"
"Maddie!" Sonic shouts in relief.
"We're busting out of here," She bends down to her husband.
"How'd you get past the guards?" Tom wonders to her.
"Because that little fox is into some crazy stuff," She tells him and he looks at his handcuffs, amazed again that she managed to pick them open. "Come on."
He laughs and stands up. "You're amazing." Sonic looks at Sophia while both of them pick the locks as she groans. Once they're both free, Tom pulls his daughter into his arms, placing her down on the floor. "Is she okay, Maddie?" He looks up in worry. "I don't know what to do."
Sonic looks on sadly while helping Tails and Maddie bends down to her. "Well, there's one thing you haven't tried...Sophia, I'm making your favorite: cheesecake with oreos and chocolate," She sings a little and Sophia sits up in alarm.
"What?! Where?" She looks around in alarm and Tom laughs in relief.
"Soph," He says softly as she's helped up by Maddie and her parents hug her. She smiles and hugs them back.
"Mom, Dad, thank goodness you guys are okay," She murmurs to them.
"Us? What about you, we didn't know if you were gonna wake up," Maddie pats the top of her head.
"Psh. I'm the daughter of a cop, remember?" She smirks up at Tom, who smiles proudly. "And I'm still invulnerable. It'll take more than a shock to knock me down."
"Sunshine!" Sonic rushes over and hugs her tightly. She blinks as he lifts her up off her feet, shaking her. "Don't ever scare me like that again!"
"Sonic!" She laughs a bit as he puts her down. "Don't worry, I won't," She assures him and he pulls back while holding her cheek, kissing her forehead.
"I'm just glad you're okay..." He presses her forehead to hers and she smiles, closing her eyes.
Tom and Maddie smile at the two and Sophia gasps, looking up. "Look, the time for reunions is gonna have to be cut short. Don't forget what we still have to do," She reminds all of them and they all nod in agreement. "Let's go," She runs past Sonic and opens up the door so that they can leave before getting caught again.
Angel: To be honest, I was never really into this part, both rewatching it and writing it for the sake of this story. And if you've seen this movie, you probably know why. But honestly, it's fun, I'll give it that, though at the same time, I was just waiting for the Sonic stuff or even Knuckles and Robotnik shtick to come back here. So this was sort of a slog for me since it's filler, but it at least wasn't entirely boring for me. Rachel was QUEEN here, she earned her moment. Also the Chief is a dick, I hate him.
I don't hate the human scenes in these Sonic movies, but sometimes they're not as fun as the Sonic stuff.
