In the Mean Bean, Stone is handcuffed to a chair by Wade. He fiddles with his hands as Wade stands in front of him. "I'm done playing games, pal. You're gonna tell me what I wanna know." He intensely stares at Stone, who doesn't respond at all. "And I am asking you...for the last time..." He holds up a knife for some reason. "What would you like on your bagel?"
"I'm not telling you anything," Stone remarks since there's no reason for him to be detained like this. Wade is just so used to the Mean Bean being open that he probably overreacted... "And that is a display bagel."
"I don't get it with you!" Wade shouts in frustration. "I mean, I've tried everything. I was good cop. I was bad cop. I was cop who offers you a bagel. And nothing. It's like-" He takes a bite out of the display bagel, but can't eat it since it's made out of plastic. "That is a display bagel. Wow."
Stone just gives a look of disbelief, wondering what's going on in Wade's head...
Suddenly everything starts shaking as everything turns green and they look around in confusion. A flash of green light appears between the two men and Wade yelps, bracing himself. After the flash is gone, Robotnik is revealed to be standing there, having just teleported there from the temple. His suit is black, but flashes of green come from it.
"Doctor, you're here," Stone replies with a small smile, Wade pointing the knife and bagel at him.
"Yes...I'm here," Robotnik sounds like a robot due to the emerald's power, smoke coming from his body. "And yet I'm...not all there," He slowly turns his head.
"Sir, are you feeling okay?" Stone wonders in concern.
"I'm more than okay...I'm upgradeeeeed! Sinister 3.0," He taps the air like playing a keyboard. "My game is next leveeeeel," He then does some warping sounds as he moves his hand back and forth. He disappears again and reappears right behind Stone. "Hi."
Stone screams in alarm upon seeing this. Wade looks around in alarm as Robotnik holds Stone's face. "I can smell the electricity in your brain..." He looks up at the officer, sniffing the air. "You smell like a snack plate."
"...Yeah, no, that's fair," Wade answers meekly with a shrug. "I had a couple today."
Robotnik teleports to his side, holding the display bagel. "Sit down." Wade glances at him and slowly tries to sit down while standing up. "In the chair." Without even touching them, he manages to get the handcuffs off of Stone, who looks at his wrists in shock before getting on his feet.
"I-I didn't know," Wade gets into the chair. "C-Cause he was in the chair, so I didn't-" Robotnik sucks something up into his mouth. "Okay."
"Sir? We have a problem," Stone reports to him. He presses a button to open up the windows, revealing that the place is surrounded by GUN agents. Robotnik glances at them, and he doesn't seem fazed at all.
"All teams in position!"
"Set up the perimeter!"
Several of them come out of a tank. "Move, move, move, move!" As more tanks come in, some agents start pointing weapons at the place. The entire street is blocked off because of it.
"Incorrectus, my trusty barnacle," Robotnik slowly turns to Stone. "After all these years...what I finally got...is a solution."
A helicopter flies in, landing in front of a building. One of the agents opens the door to reveal the Captain. "Commander," One of them nods to him as Maddie and Tom come out.
"Status report."
"Robotnik is in there with Stone and a hostage. Possibly local PD," She tells him and they start walking. "I'm not saying he's dumb, but if he is local PD...this town's in a lot of trouble."
Tom and Maddie take one look at each other and they know exactly who she's talking about. "Wade."
Once they're close enough, the doors open with smoke coming out. Robotnik literally floats out of the Mean Bean to make his presence. "Um...Okay," Maddie murmurs, very put off by seeing him again and...looking like that.
"Rockin' that new spring collection, I see," Tom remarks to him.
"Well, if it isn't the Pastry King," Robotnik draws out the last two words just to insult him.
"The Donut Lord!" Tom corrects proudly; at this point, he's used to Sonic calling him that. Sometimes even Sophia says it to tease him. "You know, a real genius would remember the name of the guy who helped kick your butt off this planet. And I'll do it again if you mess with Green Hills. Especially since my kid played a part in sending you away, remind me to get you back for turning her into a hedgehog," He points angrily at Robotnik.
"Congratulations on your oh-so-temporary sense of superiority and disgusting protectiveness over your rat of a daughter."
Tom looks really pissed off as he lunges forward, but Maddie holds him back. They both couldn't take him on their own, especially with Robotnik's power spike. "You're finished, Robotnik!" The Captain tells him. "We've taken everything. Your lab, your drones, your funding! Let's see how big of a man you are without your silly little robots."
"Would you like to see how...big a man I can be?" Robotnik mocks, clenching a fist. He holds out his hand and green energy comes from it. He starts to take apart the bolts from the tank, and the parts from it fly off piece by piece. Everyone looks around in alarm. "Welcome...to the new norm," He holds up his other hand and starts flying, a tornado forming with green energy. Some soldiers jump off the tanks as he starts using them as well. He also starts taking apart the helicopter that Tom and Maddie flew in.
"My God!" The GUN Chief comments in shock. They watch as he continues floating and Stone runs out of the Mean Bean.
"Doctor! Take me with you!" He pleads at the top of his lungs. Robotnik looks down and grabs him using the green energy, hanging him upside down. The soldiers run around in a panic as more of their vehicles start getting taken apart by Robotnik. A nearby train is even affected, the pieces of it flying over to him. A crowd forms, the trio slowly stepping up to see a much bigger tornado now. Pieces start getting taken from every single vehicle he can get.
"He's taking everything apart," Tom murmurs in disbelief.
"He's building something," Maddie notes and then a ring portal arrives. Tails' plane flies out of it, with Sonic, Sophia, and Knuckles riding it. They look up ahead to see the tornado.
"That can only be one thing," Tails tells the three of them.
"The fearsome power of the Emerald," Knuckles states while hanging on from the right wing.
"'If that thing really turns thoughts into power, we are in big trouble!" Sonic tells them from the left wing. Sophia is standing in front of him, gripping the pole she's using to hang on. She looks up ahead while her quills fly. "Robotnik has a lot of bad thoughts."
"He can do anything he wants with it," She narrows her eyes. "With his IQ level and that Emerald, we're in for a ride..."
"Hey, guys," Tails whispers to them from behind. "Are you sure it was a good idea bringing you-know-who aboard?" He glances at Knuckles, who either doesn't listen or just doesn't get the hint that they're talking about him.
"Knuckles isn't really a bad guy," Sonic tells him. "He's just a little...mixed up."
"I am not mixed up!" Knuckles defends since the blue hedgehog said it out loud. "I have steely focus. And I'm complex. And that's a lot for some people."
"Yeah," Sophia smiles as she agrees with him, turning to Knuckles. "He's on our own side now, Robotnik did act like a jerk to him, remember?"
Tails chuckles nervously since not only did he hit the echidna with a car, but he also restrained him without thought... "Hope you're not still mad I hit you with that car," He gives a nervous smile to him.
"Pfft!" Knuckles scoffs it off. "I was completely uninjured. And my revenge will come when you least expect it, fox."
"I think that means you better watch your tails," Sophia rubs the back of her neck as Tails whines.
"I...I was only helping my friends..."
Sonic places a hand on her shoulder from behind and she glances at him. "Robotnik made you into this," He reminds her softly. "Are you sure you don't want him to change you back? You can still have a normal life, Sunshine."
"I'm sure," She nods at him. "Besides, you're too adorable for me to go back to being human. That's enough for me."
"Aww!" He hugs her happily and she giggles. "I promise, I'll do everything I can to get you your dream! That's our deal now if you're gonna be a hedgehog for me."
"If you say so," She smiles at Sonic.
"You guys are pretty cute," Tails chuckles a little.
"I know not of what you present to me, but...it's not dishonorable," Knuckles shrugs it off.
Inside the tornado, Robotnik's symbol flashes and he descends down from a platform. He stands in front of his flashing symbol and then brings his creation to life with the Emerald. It turns out he's looking outside of two white holes, and Stone is in another area to help control it. "Whoa..." He smiles as eh looks at Robotnik. "Sir, you're magnificent!"
"Thank you, sycophant. Your admirable is inevitable."
Once the tornado clears, they look at a large Robotnik-like mech that he created with the machines and transport. Wade looks outside from the Mean Bean, still tied up. "I knew it!" He whispers to himself. "Just like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!"
"World Domination playlist," He says to his finger and holds up his leg, using it as a guitar to play some heavy metal. Stone starts to dance to it, pretending to play drums. Robotnik then starts dancing towards town, alarming everyone.
"Fall back," The GUN Chief tells everyone. "Fall back! Quick! Retreat!" Everyone except Tom and Maddie start running for their lives.
"Oh no!" Sophia says in horror since she grew up in Green Hills and it's about to get destroyed.
"How are we supposed to beat this thing?" Tails wonders to the trio.
"We need a plan," Sonic tells everyone. "Knuckles, use your strength to-" Knuckles crosses his arms over his chest and falls back without a word. "Jump off the plane. Wow."
"...Is he gonna be okay?" Sophia wonders as he disappears and they can't see where he landed.
"Okay, this is what we're gonna do. Step 1: Light taunting," Sonic climbs to be on top of the plane. "Step 2: I have no idea." He looks back and holds out his hand to Sophia, who takes it and he helps her get to his side. They fly past Tom and Maddie, and Sophia sees them both.
"Sonic! Sophia!" Maddie says in relief, Tom smiling.
"Get anyone or any cars away from the area, guys! We've got this," Sophia calls out to her parents while pumping a fist. Both of them nod at her.
"Nice action figure, Eggman," Sonic mocks him while Tails flies around the mech. "Does it do anything or just stand there looking ugly?"
"Might as well just return back to the Amazon Bin!" Sophia mocks as Tails then flies away from the robot. Robotnik growls in annoyance seeing them again.
"Like blisters, they keep coming back! ...They're on the okay-to-kill list," He decides after a few seconds. "Shoot the missiles. Make a decision."
"Uh, I-I just need a moment, sir," Stone speaks up from his spot. "I'm trying to figure out how to do this?"
"Did you even glance at a manual?" Robotnik asks in annoyance, sparking green energy at Stone.
"No!" Stone screams as he disappears and is replaced by Robotnik, but is actually behind the man.
"I'll do it. Pardon my lightning," He says while quickly working the controls. "You might wanna ground yourself."
Holes come out from the mech and the missiles are fired. "Uh-oh," Tails comments at this.
"I'm gonna pop that thing open like a can of chili-" Sonic screams as a bunch of them come flying at the plane. "Whoa!" He lands on the top, Sophia clinging onto him.
"Hang on!" Tails does a flip and they hang on for dear life.
"Whoa!" Both of them shout, Tails spinning around again after avoiding all the missiles. The projectiles all explode behind them. Sophia sighs in relief as they look back, cheering at this.
"Whoo!"
"Thank god," Sophia murmurs to herself.
"Oh, yeah!' Tails smiles up at them.
"Close one," Sonic comments...and then he gets hit with the last missile, flying off the plane. Sophia gasps sharply, both of them looking back.
"Sonic!" The two shout at him.
Robotnik starts doing...the chicken dance for some reason as Knuckles runs up into town. "Robotnik!" He turns his head to see the echidna dashing towards him. "Deceiver!"
"Die, mosquito!" Robotnik reaches out his hand, placing two fingers on the road. He has them crawl over to Knuckles, who keeps running. Robotnik makes his fingers go faster, Knuckles growling. He jumps up into the air and then punches it, but it has little effect. "Ooh!" Robotnik holds his hand as he's not fazed at all. "I felt that."
Tails activates his own weapons and starts shooting them at the mech. Sophia groans as she looks up ahead, as there's no damage taken. "It's not working! He's got too much armor on that thing," She frowns at this. Robotnik growls and moves his arms. His fake mustache from the neck move as flappers to break a wing from Tails' plane. Sophia braces herself as she and Tails fall.
"Oh! Whoa!"
"Tails!" Sophia lunges forward and grabs him out of his seat just as the plane crashes. She rushes away from the crash before it can affect her.
"Thanks, Sophia," Tails says in relief and she nods.
"What just happened?" Robotnik wonders since that wasn't the direction he was using.
"It's the Stache Masher. Right here in the manual," Stone grins widely as he actually found one to use.
Sonic comes back with the missile, riding it towards the mech. "Return to sender!" He jumps off just in time as it manages to hit, and actually affect the two as they shake. Sophia then charges up her hand with pink energy. "Chaos Spear!" She flings it, and actually manages to make the mech slide back a bit. Sonic slides to a stop, looking up as the three join him.
Robotnik looks down at the control booth. "Stone?" He seems to be unconscious. "Oh, great. Next thing you know, there'll be a report about a hostile work environment."
Sonic, Sophia, Tails, and Knuckles all regroup near some debris. "Those were our best attacks and they did nothing!" Knuckles shouts in anger.
"We can't beat Robotnik as long as he's got that Emerald," Tails informs them all. "He's too powerful."
"Even my Chaos Spear, which helped last time, it's not enough," Sophia frowns at her hand.
"Look, we aren't strong enough to beat Robotnik on our own," Sonic places a hand on Tails' shoulder. "But there's four of us. Your strength, your smarts, my speed, and Sunshine's adorableness, but her quick thinking too. Together. That's how we win," He says while holding all their shoulders.
"So we make our stand here on the field of battle!"
"As a team," Tails adds in with a smile.
"And as a unit. Let's kick his egotistical butt," Sophia smiles too, Sonic letting them go.
"This is it." He turns around as they all stand together on top of the rubble. "This...is our moment!" He states while Sophia charges up her hand again, all of them staring down the neck. Robotnik brings his fingers together.
"Time to fight." His drones come out of the robot, all of them heading towards the group. They start attacking, but all four fight back.
"Bad time to say this, but I don't actually have a plan," Sonic admits to them, spinning around and destroying drones. "Tails, any ideas?"
"We have to find his weak spot," He answers while throwing a boomerang and firing his blaster.
"Even things like that mech have something we can use against it," Sophia says while firing Chaos Spears. She then rolls up into a ball as drones surround her and by doing this, she destroys them.
"I suggest the groin," Knuckles states while punching them.
"What?!" Sonic exclaims in disbelief, but also a little disgusted. "No. No!" He protests and then spin-dashes.
"I'd rather not!" Sophia adds in while doing a 180 spin and using her Chaos Spears.
"Traditionally, yes, the groin is the weakest spot," Knuckles defends while holding a drone and punching it to bits.
"Stop saying groin," Sonic pleads with him.
"Hedgehogs!" The mech points its hands at both the blue and pink hedgehogs. It fires its lasers.
"Look out!" Sonic shouts as they all jump off the rubble just in time. The mech continues shooting lasers as they dodge left and right, all of them side by side. "I know what his weak spot is. It's me and Soph. We're the groin."
"You just said we weren't using that!" Sophia shouts in disgust.
"Sorry," He smiles sheepishly at her.
"But you're right, he has it out for both of us, we can distract him!" Sophia points at him, both of them spin dashing as Sonic jumps. Sophia stays on ground as she destroys a drone right in front of her, Sonic also hitting a drone. Tails grabs onto him while flying his tails.
"Think about it, Soph's on the right track."
"Whoa!" Tails starts spinning both of them around. Knuckles grabs Sophia's hand and they both spin in a tornado, heading for some drones.
"Sunshine and I live rent-free in this dude's head," Sonic starts off as he and Tails destroy some drones. Knuckles lets go of Sophia so that she can spin forward and destroy another one. He jumps up and grabs one. "So if we go out there and rile him up..."
Knuckles dashes forward while punching drones. "He'll focus on only you two, leaving himself open to a flanking maneuver from me and the fox!" Knuckles realizes as the three join him after destroying more drones. He then punches one in front of him. "Hedgehogs, you are brave and noble warriors," Tails flies up ahead and shoots down some more drones. "Go to your certain deaths with honor."
"We're gonna have to work on your pep talks, pal," Sonic comments as Sophia looks a bit annoyed.
"Plus, we have names..." She mumbles while looking away.
"Yeah!" Tails laughs a bit.
"Let's go!" Sophia and Sonic run together in pink and blue, Tails and Knuckles breaking off from them to split up. They reach the feet of the mech. "All right, mustache! You want us? Come and get us!" Sonic challenges him.
"You came this far for your revenge, what's stopping you now?" Sophia adds in.
You don't tell me about coming and getting. I am on the cutting edge of coming and getting!" Robotnik growls, mimicking running. "Coming, getting. Coming, getting," The duo run away from the mech. "Coming, getting. Coming, getting."
Knuckles and Tails run on a nearby roof, lunging off of it. Tails hangs onto Knuckles' arm. "Oh, you're really heavy," Tails heaves a bit.
"That's because I am one million percent muscle. Faster, fox!" Knuckles points forward. The two land on the mech while Maddie and Tom are doing exactly what Sophia suggested.
"Go! Move, guys! Move back!"
"Let's go, that's it! Go, go, go, go!"
"Move back!"
"Keep going, go!"
"Stop!" Maddie shouts as a truck approaches them.
"Tom, what happened here?" The driver asks them. The two glance at each other.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Let's go get our kids," Maddie agrees with him.
"We need your truck!" They say in unison, driving off with it to go help Sonic and Sophia.
