"Coming, getting," Robotnik repeats, but starts to grow tired. "Whew..."
"Yoo-hoo~!" Sonic cries out from a tree, Sophia smirking next to him. "So what's the plan here?" Robotnik looks up rapidly as they hang onto the branches. "You gonna build a big robot house? Get yourself a big robot wife?"
"Ew," Sophia scrunches up her nose in disgust at the thought. Robotnik doesn't seem to care about people enough to get a big robot wife anyway...
"I'm going to enslave humanity and force them to service my machines," Robotnik tells them plain and simple. "First, Green Hills. Then the universe. And then the multiverse! Then who knows? Maybe that'll be enough," The mech shrugs at them. "Full disclosure? You two won't be there..." His eyes glow green and they fire at the tree, knocking them down. They both scream and Sonic lands first, catching Sophia in his arms. He quickly speeds off as he dodges left and right from the explosions. One of them knocks them back into a tree. Sophia glances at him in worry as she stands up completely fine.
"Eye lasers? Really?!" Sonic rushes to his girlfriend so that she's in his arms again, running off. Meanwhile, Tails and Knuckles are climbing up the back of the mech. Robotnik runs inside the mech as he follows the two all the way to the bridge. Sonic pants, looking around and Sophia looks to her right.
"Sonic..." She says in worry as the mech stares at them right next to the bridge, overlooking the both of them.
"Snot rocket!" He puts a finger to his nose, and then...mimics flying a booger out of his nose, but instead it's a laser that hits the entire bridge!
"No, no, no, no, no!" Sonic yells and then the two of them fall off, screaming as they fall down below. Sophia lands on top of Sonic, trying to catch her breath from the fall.
Robotnik just laughs at them. "Giving up already? Not so tough when you're fighting someone 700 times your size, are ya?" The two hedgehogs lay on the ground, not responding. Sophia slowly pushes herself up enough to look at Sonic, and then glances back at Robotnik, panting in anger. "You can't beat me! I'm all powerful! All-knowing!" He then pauses for a few seconds. "Al-seeing..." He slowly turns around as Tails has broken in using one of his devices.
"Looks like your fancy robot has a glitch," A bunch of Tails clones come flying in.
"Is it me?"
"What about me?"
"I'm over here."
Robotnik looks around in a panic. "Up top! Down below! Behind you!" He then starts zapping all of them so they can disappear.
"I'm over here."
"Sorry!"
"Over here."
"Too slow!"
"Try again."
"You can't outsmart me," Robotnik starts zapping some of them at once. "I'm the outsmarter-er!" He causes a blast that gets rid of all of them, as well as knock the real Tails back. He hangs onto a pole, too weak to fly. He turns around to look at Robotnik.
"I didn't outsmart you. I'm just the distraction," He reveals with a grin.
"Robotnik!" He turns around to see Knuckles. "I am also a hologram!"
"Disloyal," Robotnik says while staring at him.
"Dis is how I roll," Knuckles charges up his fists and then charges forward, punching Robotnik so hard that it knocks the Emerald off of him. Robotnik's outfit changes back to normal and the mech falls on its knees. Then Robotnik falls forward, and in turn, so does the mech. Knuckles and Tails scream as they face the mouth part, the emerald falling to the side as they fall to the opposite. They roll to a stop on the ground, groaning.
Robotnik looks up as he realizes he doesn't have his power anymore. "Where's my Emerald?" He backs away in a panic. "No, no, no, no! Computer, auxiliary power," He stands up, looking at his arm. Something then starts to move just as Sonic wakes up, dirt covering him.
"Sonic..." Sophia murmurs while looking at him. He sees something and gasps. She looks in his direction to see the Emerald several feet away.
"Oh...the Emerald...it's right there."
Sophia slowly stands up, grabbing his hand and placing him over her back piggy back style. "Come on," She wills her body to keep him up since she's never tried to carry him before. She then starts moving as fast as she can towards the Emerald.
"Move, you hunk of junk!" Robotnik shouts as some computers arrive and he attempts to get everything working again.
"We have to...reach it," Sonic groans from Sophia's back as he notices that she's struggling to keep him up. "Sunshine, go on without me. I'm only slowing you down."
"No way," She stands her ground as she falls, dropping him in the process. "I might not be as strong as Knuckles, but we can't let Robotnik get it back," She grunts as she gets him onto her back again, slowly staggering over to the Emerald.
"Sunshine..." He murmurs softly at her determination. As she's moving, the mech comes back to life, looming over them in shadow. Sophia falls yet again, the mech starting to move as the back-up power comes back on. She looks back and gasps in fear.
"Oh no," She heaves Sonic over her back again and tries to move faster. The truck Tom and Maddie borrowed comes in as they look ahead. They see Robotnik stepping after the two as Sophia narrows her eyes.
"Come on..." Sonic encourages her. "You can do it, Sunshine."
"There they are!" Maddie points to the two once she sees them. "Go! Go, go, go!"
Sophia stumbles right in front of the Emerald, groaning. "I can't...I can't do it anymore," She murmurs tiredly and Sonic pulls her closer.
"It's okay. You did great," He tells her as he picks it up, but they're about to get stomped on by the mech. Before they can, however, the truck comes driving in and Maddie grabs the both of them. She puts them inside of the truck.
"No!" Robotnik exclaims at this.
"We got you, Sonic," Maddie smiles at them.
"Mom...Dad," Sophia smiles back at her parents. Robotnik then raises a fist towards the truck.
"Hold on!" Tom shouts as Robotnik punches the ground, enough to send the truck flying. It rolls to a stop on the ground. Maddie crawls out first, followed by Sonic and Sophia, and then Tom. She looks back as Sonic still has the Emerald in his hands.
"You guys okay?"
"Yeah," Tom grunts out as Sophia now looks a bit weak.
"Okay," Maddie leans against the truck, along with the hedgehogs. The two look back at Robotnik, the mech standing up.
"I got the Emerald," Sonic informs the two. "We could still defeat him. Come on, come on. How does this thing work? What do I do? Sunshine, please, tell me what to do," He looks back at her, gasping as he sees her leaning against the truck, her eyes closed. "Soph!" He shakes her a bit and she weakly opens her eyes, feeling exhausted from carrying him.
"I...I don't know, blue bear..." She whispers to him while staring into his eyes. Then the Master Emerald starts to break.
"What?" It falls into pieces in his hands. "No. No, no, no, no, no, no, no!"
Robotnik walks up towards them, grinning evilly. "Look at the happy little family..." He creates a ring of fire around them, causing them to panic.
"You have to get away from me and get Sunshine somewhere safe. I'm the one he wants," Sonic tells them both as he's trying to protect all of them. He turns around to Sophia, hugging her tightly and hiding his face into her shoulder. "I'm so sorry..."
Tom could see just how much Sonic cares about her despite them being at a young age, and...he would feel the same about Maddie if it were her. "Hey..." Maddie speaks up softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. He turns around to her while Tom holds up Sophia to help support her. "We're not going anywhere. We're family," She holds his hand.
"...And families stick together," Tom holds onto Sophia's hand and she takes Sonic's. "No matter what."
"They're right, Sonic..." Sophia mutters weakly to him. "Human or hedgehog...I'll always be there for you." They huddle together as they await their doom together.
"I love you guys..." Sonic says to them. "And I love you, Sunshine."
"We love you guys too," Tom tells the blue hedgehog.
"I love you too, Sonic. You guys too," Sophia nuzzles Sonic a bit and he does the same with her. The Emerald pieces turn into seven emeralds, and they spin around to surround the two hedgehogs. Robotnik then steps on them.
"NO!" Tails shouts in horror.
"I got 'em!" Robotnik yells in victory. "I finally got 'em!" He cackles happily, and then the mech shakes, implying that something happened. "What was that?" He gets a closer look, and notices a golden light coming from the foot. Two heads full of quills are gold, standing up as they're holding up the foot. Tails and Knuckles look on in awe. Maddie and Tom are revealed to be fine as they look up, seeing that both Sophia and Sonic's fur are now golden!
They push the foot away from the two, flying up to the sky, shocking their friends. Super Sonic and Super Sophia hold hands while staring down Robotnik, who shields himself from the light. Super Sonic turns to look at his girlfriend and they smile at each other lovingly with their eyes red. They then fly around together around the mech's head in rapid fashion. Robotnik braces himself as they actually cut off the head, which falls down onto the ground. Robotnik pants in fear as he looks at them flying up to him.
"It's over, Eggman," Super Sonic tells him while gritting his teeth.
"You've attacked my home long enough," Super Sophia growls at him.
"I like the new look. It works for you," Robotnik replies nervously, seeing that he's not match for them. "What do you say we just let bygones be bygones? I did some things, you guys did some things. There are good people on both sides." The two just glare at him. "Surely three intelligent beings..." Robotnik moves his arm behind his back, crossing his fingers, but is planning an attack. "Can work these things out!" He directs a fist towards them both, but they just place a hand over it to stop it before it can hit them. Robotnik struggles to punch them and they push it back so far that the mech's fist breaks into pieces.
"Come on, guys. Come on," Tom encourages as they get a closer look.
"Get him, guys!"
"Yeah. Come on," He smiles up at him.
Robotnik directs another punch at them, but ends up destroying that one too when it simply touches them. "Well, since Sunshine is a good person like you say she is...wanna let bygones be bygones?" Super Sonic smirks at her and she rubs her chin.
"Hmm, seeing how he turned me into a hedgehog...no," She smiles sweetly and Robotnik sweats a little as she sounds so nice but is also scared of what's to come. "Oh, and this is for my house," She clenches a fist while glaring at him. They start going in to attack and then back out, doing the same thing repeatedly all over the mech before going back to Robotnik. They both tap their feet against the mech lightly.
"Oh, it's like that?" Robotnik asks in defense, while they just narrow their eyes. "Okay, we're not friends," He declares as he falls backwards along with the mech. "Later, haters!" He shouts during all the explosions, and a gust of wind flies in. The two slowly descend down together towards the ground.
"Sonic! Sophia!" Maddie yells happily as she and Tom run over.
"Buddy! Munchkin!" Tom adds in, laughing.
"Wait!" Knuckles holds up a hand. "You cannot touch them. The hedgehogs hold the power of the Emerald." They both have their eyes closed while the three stare. "I am sorry. They are no longer the Sonic and Sophia you once knew."
"What?" Maddie murmurs in worry.
Super Sonic raises a hand to create a tornado, which sparks lightning into his hand. Super Sophia does the same, and a chili dog lands in Super Sonic's hand. However, Super Sophia sparks some lightning in front of Tom, who yells and falls back.
"Hey!" He protests at her as she opens her eyes with a small smirk.
"Dad. We agreed. No more calling me Munchkin," She scolds him playfully.
Super Sonic sniffs the chili dog and eats it. "Mm. Oh, oh, you gotta try this," He snaps his fingers while floating, and another chili dog falls from the sky...and splatters all over Knuckles' face.
"Okay. He is exactly the Sonic and Sophia you once knew." The bun lands on his head. Maddie giggles at this, Tom nodding a bit.
"Yeah, I know you hate that name."
The two hold hands as the seven emeralds all fly away from them, everyone getting hit by the yellow light. Once it's gone, the two are back to their normal colors. "Guys!" Maddie bends down and hugs them both.
"Bring it in, guys," Tom hugs them too and they laugh.
"Ah, it's good to be back in blue. The golden god thing was fun, but blue has always been more my color. And it suits Sunshine just as well," He kisses her cheek repeatedly and she giggles, pushing him away.
"Blue bear!" She exclaims, slightly embarrassed but doesn't mind it. "That was awesome, I was so powerful I didn't even use my Chaos Spear."
"Looks good on you," Tom smiles at the two.
"Sonic, Sophia," Tails speaks up. "You were the most powerful heroes in the universe, and you let that go. Why?"
"...Because...I still have some growing up to do," Sonic smiles at Tom, him and Maddie smiling at each other. "And I kind of like being a kid."
"As for me...well, I figure it's time I appreciate life more as being a hedgehog. Sure, I'm not owning my bakery, but I wouldn't miss having fun with Sonic for the world," She smiles softly at him as he wraps an arm around her. "I still get to keep my car, though," She holds up a finger.
"And you're not just any kid," Tom grins at Sonic. "You're our kid."
"That's right," Maddie pokes his nose.
"I hope that's not gonna get weird," Sonic comments to Sophia. "Seeing how I'm dating your actual kid..."
"Um, how about we just say that in the future, you're their son-in-law?" She suggests to him.
"Let's not think too far ahead," Tom shakes his head since they don't need to think about getting married right now.
"I think Sophia's got a point," Maddie smirks at him. "He's our son-in-law, now it's not weird."
"Ugh..." Tom groans at this.
"Bring it in!" Maddie exclaims as the two hug Tails, Sonic, and Sophia.
"Yay, hugs," Tails responds happily.
"It's a good thing we didn't do this before. You would've blown up."
"Wow, okay, let's not go that far," Sophia chuckles a bit awkwardly. They look towards Knuckles to see him holding what's left of the Master Emerald. He then clamps them together, a green light shining from his hands. He reveals the Master Emerald intact!
"Whoa! You fixed it," Sonic comments in awe.
"I've spent my whole life questing for this," He explains to the hedgehogs. "Now I have it. Now we have it. What do we do with it?" Tom and Maddie step back, watching the four. "What next?"
"There were once two orders of heroes who protected the galaxy from those who would use the Emerald for evil," Tails states while holding the Emerald in his hands.
"But they have all passed on to the great battleground in the sky," Knuckles looks up to the clouds.
"So we start a new order. The four of us," Sonic suggests and Sophia smiles, hugging his shoulder as he wraps an arm around her waist.
"This is no light task. We must make a vow to use our powers to keep the universe safe, to watch out for each other. Our new tribe."
"Oh, I know!" Tails exclaims with a smile. "A power bump!" He holds out his fist.
"Good idea," Sonic presses his fist to his.
"Yeah!" Sophia puts in her fist as well.
"It's an Earth custom," Tails explains to Knuckles. "An unbreakable promise."
"Very well," Knuckles raises his hand. Tom and Maddie bump their fists as well. "A power bump it is." Tom hugs his wife as they look on.
"Power bump!" Sonic says as they all bump fists. He then gives Sophia a quick peck on the lips. "And that's for you."
"Sonic! My dad's watching," Sophia chuckles a bit, a blush on her face.
"it's okay, be adorable," Maddie assures with a smile and Sophia drops her ears with an annoyed look as she grumbles.

Yaaaaaay…?
I have mixed feelings about it since I'm not doing the franchise anymore (people keep asking about it and it turned me off), plus the overall series is…very cringe to me now. It was the first story I ever did, so that's excusable, but I wish the rest of the series wasn't on there…I just—I wanna be excited about that, but if it was before all the stupid crap, I would've been happy. But now that after all that stuff happened, I just cringe now thinking about it.
If it was the 2003 version, I'd definitely be happy about it because that's my favorite version of the series.
