Beastboy groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. He looked around him and saw different kinds of monitors and machines. He then looked down and saw that he was hooked up to some of the machines.

How the hell did I end up here?

As soon as the thought left Beastboy's head, the events from last night rushed through his head like a sped up movie.

Beastboy sighed as he remembered what happened. The first thing he wanted to know was why did the leader electrocute him? Sure he was a criminal but if Beastboy was honest, he hasn't been on much of a stealing spree since last year. But still did Robin do that to each and every criminal he came in contact with?

Beastboy groaned again as these questions rang in his head. There were just so many questions and not enough answers.

Then again I haven't been exactly truthful either. And Robin does have every right to come after me. Especially since he has a grudge against me…

Before Beastboy could further dwell in his thoughts, he heard a door open. He looked to his left and saw the person he so badly wanted to see… Raven.

He watched as Raven came to sit in a chair to his right. As they locked eyes, the tension in the air between them rose slowly. It seemed as if they were locked into each other's gaze. After a few minutes, Raven broke eye contact with Beastboy and looked down at the floor as a slight blush was upon her face.

"How are you feeling Beastboy?" Raven asked now looking around the room but not at him.

Beastboy opened his mouth to say that he was fine when suddenly he was racked with a burning sensation that ran through his entire body. He tried to stifle it but soon a small moan of pain escaped Beastboy's lips as he balled his hands into tight fists.

As soon as Raven heard the moan, she quickly looked back at Beastboy and saw him in pain. She quickly got to action and placed her hands on him and started healing him as her hands turned a pale blue.

Beastboy felt a cooling sensation start to fight off the painful burning sensation and he started to relax as the cooling sensation took over his body.

Raven felt a bead of sweat on her forehead as she tried to put as much comfort in her hands as possible to heal and ease Beastboy. After a few more minutes, Raven stopped her healing and sat back in the chair panting lightly.

She looked over at Beastboy and saw that he was looking at her with his eyes slightly open.

"Raven what the hell was that?" Beastboy asked

"That Beastboy would be the side affects of being electrocuted at a very high level. Don't worry the side affects are only temporarily."

Beastboy sighed in relief. "Ok that's good wouldn't want this to hinder my performance." Beastboy said and smiled at Raven.

Raven rolled her eyes. "Oh dear wouldn't that be terrible." Raven said dryly

Beastboy just chuckled and smiled at Raven.

For a while the two sat in a comfortable silence each lost in their train of thought. But then Raven thought about one of the reasons she came in here to see Beastboy (the first of course being if he was alright).

Raven cleared her throat and Beastboy's head snapped in her direction.

"Did you want to talk Rae?"

Raven sighed as she didn't really know how to approach him about this situation, but she had to.

"Beastboy, do you happen to know Robin from your past or anything?"

Beastboy suddenly tensed at this question and looked nervously from side to side. He really didn't want to answer this question. So Beastboy decided to act dumb to get him self out of this uncomfortable situation.

"What are you talking about Rae? I don't know Robin." Beastboy said a bit nervously

Raven scoffed. "Beastboy you can't play dumb with me. I'm an empath and I can literally taste the nervousness radiating off of you."

Beastboy swore under his breath and Raven revealed this information. He knew know that there was no way he was going to be getting out of this situation anytime soon.

Beastboy sighed wearily. "Alright maybe I do remember Robin from my past. But why do you want to know?"

"Because it seemed that Robin knew you personally when we were fighting and he seemed to want to settle a score with you."

"Really" Beastboy replied faintly his voice tinged with … sadness?

Why is he feeling sad about this? If anything aren't they suppose to be enemies? As Raven thought about it she could have sworn that she felt the same thing come from Robin as well when they were fighting.

But that's impossible. I mean Robin was hell bent on getting Beastboy. Something is just not adding up right.

Raven pushed that to the side. Now was the time to find out just what the hell was going on between Robin and Beastboy.

"Yes Beastboy, really. But I just want to ask you how the hell do you know Robin?"

The renowned thief sighed wearily. "Raven it's a really long and confusing story. I don't know if Robin even wants me to tell it."

Raven rolled her eyes. "Beastboy that's bullshit and you know it. Just tell me so I can help Robin."

Beastboy ran his fingers through his hair, his muscles straining a bit at the gesture. "Ok Raven but please don't tell Robin that I told you this story."

The sorceress was confused at this statement. "Why can't I tell him?"

"Because I don't think he's ready to tell anyone on the team yet."

Raven hesitated. "I don't know Beastboy."

"But you have to. Please Rae for me?" Beastboy pleaded

Raven sighed and relented. "Alright Beastboy, but I have some questions."

Beastboy nodded his head. "Alright shoot."

"First how the hell do you two know each other?"

Beastboy chuckled at Raven's obvious look of confusion and frustration. "Well believe it or not Rae me and Robin used to be great friends."

Raven's jaw dropped and her eyes widened in shock. The look on her face was so full of shock and surprise that it was comical. Beastboy couldn't help himself and laughed at Raven's facial expression.

The sound of Beastboy's laughter brought Raven out of her shock filled daze.

"How were you two great friends? And if you were great friends than why the hell did Robin shock the mess out of you yesterday?"

Beastboy sobered up a bit at the last question. "Well Raven you have to understand that things happen and well I haven't seen Robin in the last 5 years."

"What? You knew him for that long?"

Beastboy nodded. "Yeah I did until we had a major fallout and went our separate ways."

Raven was curious as to what the fallout was. "Why did you guys fallout?"

The jade-eyed thief hesitated then spoke. "Well let's just say that we were on opposite ends."

Raven furrowed her eyebrows at that, but then it clicked. "You guys were on opposite sides of the law weren't you?"

Beastboy nodded and sighed. "Yeah we were, and when Robin found out, he was really hurt by my choice and I could see it."

Raven felt that sadness in Beastboy again and figured that was the reason why he was sad at the mention of Robin.

Beastboy continued. "It wasn't like I wanted to hurt my best friend like that. I mean at the time, he was practically my only friend and a good one too. But things in my family got rough. My home life wasn't the best and I needed to make some money."

"So you turned to thievery."

"Exactly." Beastboy agreed. "I didn't really think how it would effect Robin, I was just thinking about getting food and clothes."

Raven sighed. "But Beastboy, why didn't you ask Robin for help? I mean surely he would have done something to help you right?"

Beastboy looked down. "I know I could have, but you have to understand I didn't want anyone's pity. I mean sure Robin knew that I didn't have the greatest home life, but he didn't know the full details and I wanted to keep it at that."

Raven nodded. "Ok so I get how this turned into you stealing at first, but why did you stay in it? I mean didn't you have plenty of money?"

Beastboy chuckled and smiled. "Well Rae I of course stayed in it for the main reason, the adrenaline rush. But I also stayed in it to test my skills and you can never have enough money."

Raven rolled her eyes at that last statement. "Only you Beastboy. But then how did you find out that Robin was a hero?"

Beastboy sighed and looked up seriously at Raven. "He was the one who caught me when I was out on my first stealing spree."

Raven gasped. "Really? What happened?"

"Well I was stealing from the Gotham jewelry store to get some rings and what not and sell them. But I set off the alarm and like 5 minutes later Robin was there."

Beastboy swallowed and continued, "At first when I looked up I only saw some dude with a mask and green and red on. But when I really looked at this dude, I realized that it was Robin and that he was the infamous hero that was in the newspapers so often. And then Robin spotted me in corner and instantly recognized me."

At this point Raven could tell and sense that Beastboy was getting very upset over this. "Beastboy we don't have to continue…" But Beastboy interrupted her.

"No Raven I need to say this and get this off of my chest." Beastboy said hoarsely.

The hero hesitated, and then nodded for him to continue.

"Thank you. Anyway when Robin realized that it was me, the look of shock and confusion on his face was obvious. But when he lowered his mask, I could see and practically feel the hurt coming from him. I was his best friend turned enemy."

"Hold on a sec. Robin took off his mask?" Raven asked not believing that for one second.

"Yeah he did. I told you we were best friends. But yeah he took off his mask and I could see all of the hurt and anger. But there was one emotion that got to me the most, and that was disappointment. The fact that I made someone important to me disappointed in me was too much for me to bear."

Raven at this point could feel the different pent up emotions that Beastboy had: anger, sadness, hurt, and the biggest two guilt and disappointment.

"He only said one word why? And I couldn't even answer him that because I already made him disappointed in me and I didn't want him to pity me. So I did the one thing that I regret the most."

"And what would that be?" Raven asked softly

"I lied. I lied and I said that I was planning this all along and that I was proud to become this. I lied and that cost me my best friend Rae! It was the dumbest decision I ever made and I regret it so much! Hell I'm not surprised that Robin shocked me when he saw me he had every right to!" Beastboy finished off bitterly and angrily.

"Beastboy calm down alright? Did anything else happen on that night?"

Beastboy sighed. "Yeah it did. When I told him that lie he got pissed off and put back on his mask. And it was like when he put back on his mask, he went full hero and didn't even look at me like I was his friend. Instead he looked at me like I was his enemy."

Beastboy paused for a moment to take in a deep breath and continued on. "When we fought, I tried my best to hold back on him a little, but I soon realized that he wasn't holding back in the slightest and that he was fighting to win and take me down. So I started to fight back harder. It didn't help that we both knew martial arts and that we were very skilled. This made the fight even harder."

"Wait how do you know martial arts?" Raven interjected.

Beastboy chuckled "One story at a time Rae."

Raven blushed. "Right sorry. But did Robin know that you could change into different kinds of animals?"

"Yeah he did. But he didn't know how many animals I could turn into. He didn't know that I had been practicing and playing with my shape shifting ability. So he was surprised when I started to change into animals like a kangaroo and a panda bear."

Raven nodded. "Ok but did anyone win?"

"No. No one won. When I saw that this fight was going nowhere, I stopped and quickly pinned Robin to the floor and was about to knock him unconscious."

"What stopped you?" Raven asked seeing as how Beastboy stopped as if to collect his thoughts.

"What stopped was the fact that even though Robin thought I was no longer his friend, I didn't think that. I still saw him as my friend and no matter what I just couldn't bring it in me to seriously injure Robin. So I left him on the floor and ran."

Raven raised her eyebrow. "Well that didn't stop you from knocking him out yesterday."

Beastboy smiled sheepishly at that. "Well I couldn't let it be seen that I was going easy on my enemy. That would raise questions like yours."

Raven sighed. "I suppose you're right. But everything that you just told me was the reason why Robin attacked you the way he did?"

"Yeah I guess. But can I ask you something?" Beastboy asked now looking nervous.

"What is it?"

"D-did Robin by any chance say anything about him shocking me like an apology or what not?"

Raven looked a bit uncomfortable at the look of hope in Beastboy's eyes. She really didn't want to crush his hopes, but she didn't want to lie to him either.

"No I'm sorry Beastboy but he didn't. He was actually quite angry with you."

Beastboy's ears dropped at the words from Raven's mouth. "Oh."

"But if it makes a difference I did feel a bit of regret and a lingering sadness from his emotions." Raven answered quickly to cheer Beastboy up.

Beastboy nodded his head. "Ok that's enough for me." At this Beastboy yawned and realized just how emotionally spent and tired he was from talking about this information with Raven.

Raven saw this and internally smiled when she saw how adorable he looked with his fang poking out. Looks like the feelings are as strong as ever. But I can't talk to Beastboy about that yet, seeing as he still needs to rest and heal.

Raven started to stand up when she felt a warm hand grab her wrist. She looked down and saw Beastboy looking up at her with sleepy eyes.

"Raven can you stay with me?" Beastboy asked quietly

"Why? Not to sound rude but you don't need me here when you're sleeping." Raven tried to reason."

"Please Raven? I just feel a bit better when you're here." Beastboy responded

Raven sighed. "Alright Beastboy I will but you better fall asleep fast." Raven said sternly

Beastboy nodded his eyes already closed and his voice thick with sleep. "Kay night Rae love you."

Raven was touched by those three words and knew that Beastboy meant it. Even though Beastboy was asleep she replied in kind.

"Love you too Beastboy."
