It was about a week later and nikki had been home for approximately four days. She decided with tom and the girls that she would go back to work even with a lopsided chest, because she couldn't face daytime telly anymore and just wanted to get back to work after the funeral of her baby son.
Because of Nikkis c-section she had crutches to help her walk. She put on a baggy top and jeans and went to work with tom and the girls.
"if you want to go home at any point darling you let me know"
"ill be okay I promise" nikki smiled
"mums hard as a rock, she will be okay" Gemma smiled
"I love you mummy" holly smiled
Nikki smiled to herself as she dropped holly off at primary school, that she had recently started.
"have a good day sweetheart"
"and you mummy" holly smiled running off to her friends by her teacher
Nikki got back into the car and they carried onto Waterloo Road. They pulled into a space and she got out with her crutches helping her walk.
"nikki your not carrying your bag im carrying it"
"whatever" nikki said walking to the entrance
"miss are you okay?" kacey came upto her
"I will be soon kace" nikki said "ive got someone in to help me with your training for the moment sweetheart"
"thankyou, are you sure your okay?"
"ive been through hell Kace this past week but I will be, look after gem for me please" nikki smiled as kacey nodded
kacey ran over to Gemma.
"hey kace" gemma smiled
"hey, how you holding"
"pretty good mums doing okay, now all the cancers cleared and the babys out sh…"
"cancer?" kacey asked
"I thought you knew as shes been training you…she had breast cancer hense why shes only got like one at the moment"
"oh my god, but shes okay"
"shes had the lump removed and under intense therapy at the moment and shes lost the baby"
"oh god no way"
"yeah shes holding up okay though"
"you've been through hell gem im sorry I wasn't there for you"
"its okay I promise, give me a hug you daft thing" gemma smiled hugging kacey.
Nikki went upto the staffroom Lorraine rushing over.
"you sure your okay to be here?"
"definitely, admin only though"
"okay then don't let me stop you" Lorraine smiled
