Alice POV
'No,' Carlisle said instantly, as Jasper pulled me closer and Bella tightened her grip on Edward. 'I'm afraid this isn't negotiable.'
'Why don't you ask them?' Aro said, completely unfazed and amused. 'Edward?'
'No, thank you,' Edward replied.
'Alice?' He asked me.
'No,' but I know that won't be the end of it. Nothing is as simple as that. Why would it be?
'You could be temporary,' Aro tried.
We both just shook our heads. I squirmed out of Jasper's grip and walked slightly closer to Edward.
'You would be assets,' he said. 'Do you really want us to constantly check on you?'
'We could move to another country,' Bella whispered.
'They'll find us,' Edward muttered, whilst Aro's grin widened.
'But if we're constantly on the move...'
'They'll still work out a way to get us, and how would that be good for anyone anyway?'
'Jane,' Aro said and a sudden rush of pain exploded through my body.
