JENNIE
"Miemie, I think we are due a vacation." Lego says as he walks into my room.
I look up from his ipad and raised a brow at him. It was a bit past three pm on Saturday and Lisa was dropping by in five and take thirty minutes.
"Why do you think that?" I asked. It's not actually a bad idea really. After the couple of years and weeks weve had, a vacation sounded really amazing.
"Because the school term has ended, Kuma has decided to take a year off before going to college and we have dada." He says with a shrug.
My heart almost beat right out of my chest as I stared at him before I remembers. Yeah. Kuma had come over at three am to talk with me. We had stayed up for hours discussing why Kuma decided this was the best and next step he should take. "You and your siblings have talked about this, haven't you?" I asked as I stared his down.
"Of course we have."
I shakes my head and tells him to call everyone over. Lego bounds off her bed and in a couple of seconds, four kids run into the room, two jumping on the bed. And those two were Lego and Luca.
"Since you all had this discussion without me and your dada, where do you want us to go?"
"There are three options." Kuma starts and Luca raises four fingers. Lily laughs and gently puts down a finger so Luca is holding the appropriate number of fingers.
"Clamping." Lily says and I was quick to shut down that idea. I was already getting her a dragon fish.
"There's this hotel in the desert with tents and lanterns." Lego says and I stares at him like I just sprouted another head.
"Okay... that aside. There's an underwater hotel in the Maldives." Kuma pipes up and Luca nods.
"We can see all the fishes and maybe Ariel too." Luca pipes up. I watched as Kuma raised his hand up a bit and Luca smacked it with his in a high five.
My children were hanging up on me. How did they grow this fast? What did I feed them? I thinks as I stared at all of them. The bell went off before I could give them my reply and Kuma excuses himself.
Luca crawled up the bed and settled by my side, resting his head on my chest, pushing his thumb into his mouth. Lily softly bats it away and Luca kicks her, glaring at her a little bit he doesn't put his thumb in his mouth.
Lisa walks in with Kuma, heading right for the bed and settling beside me, leaning over to press a kiss to my cheek in greeting.
"My lovelies."
"Hi, Love, Your children have something to ask you." I says and gives my children a pointed look. Lily cuddles up to Lisa, Lego lays flat on the bed, his head on Lisa's knee and legs on Kuma's lap.
I chuckles as I wacthed my children explain their vacation idea to Lisa, who actuallly looked interested. "Don't tell me you agree with them." I pouts and Lisa looks over. She reached for my hand, locking our fingers together.
"I think it's a great idea and I love two out of three options."
"The glamping right?" I asks with a laugh and she nods. Lily buffs against her dada but doesn't say anything. I loved the two other ideas too. "So we choose. The desert hotel or the underwater one."
"Hold on." I says and grabbed my phone off the bed side table. I googled the desert hotel, which was a hotel in the UAE within the skies desert and it was about ten thousand per night and the underwater hotel in the Maldives looked so fucking amazing and it was fifty thousand per night.
"Let me see." Lisa says and I hands her the phone. The children were holding their breathes and Lego had his fingers crossed as if hoping. "It's not bad."
"Lisa..."
"I'm more partial to the underwater hotel."
"It's two hundred thousand for four nights." I stared at her with wide eyes. The kids looked like Christmas had come early.
"I've got more than enough saved." Lisa says, her tone taking a sad tilt and I understood what Lisa wasn't saying.
"So... we're going?"
"Yeah. I'll book it now." Lisa says and then she starts tapping the phone. I stared at her with wide eyes, waiting for her to shout just kidding.
"Hold on..." Lego says, he was literally shaking with glee. "We are actually going to the Maldives?!" Lego's pitch goes so high, it makes me snicker.
"Do you kids mind sharing the same room?"
"Not the same bed, right?
"Same room but with three beds. Lily and Luca could share or he could share with..."
"Lego Einsien!" Luca screams.
"Fuck! We are actually going!" Kuma gets off the bed, his smile was so big and he looked like he was close to jumping and clapping.
"We have to pack!" Lily joins her brother, she's on her feet, bouncing on the bed a bit and I just shakes my head at my children. One by one, they leave the room, talking about what they want to bring. Once the kids were gone, Lisa moves closer and me rests my head on her shoulder.
"Love are you sure about this?"
"A hundred and one percent sure. We deserve a little vacation."
"This isn't little."
"It isn't a lot either." She counters, tilting her head down a bit so she could press a kiss to my temple. "We are going to take our little ones and have fun."
"And the next holiday would be on me."
"It isn't a competition."
"It's not but the desert hotel in UAE has intrigued me."
"Oh look at you, ms. fancy with the big English." She teases, earning a playful punch to the chest from me. She fosses the phone onto the bed and in the blink of an eye, had me on the bed and our lips locked in a kiss.
She settles between my open legs, her hand sliding down my body, hiking my legs up. She licks my lips while my legs around her waist as we kissed. We pull apart when we hear approaching footsteps.
"You shouldn't kiss me like that when the door isn't locked."
"You are too beautiful, I couldn't resist."
My cheeks heat up and she drops my legs. I plays with the hairs on the back of her head. "You are not too bad yourself."
"We are the best damn couple in the world. You with your gorgeous brown eyes, dark hair and flawless skin. You with your words, your gorgeous mind and smart self. You who brought four gorgeous children into the world."
I pulled her down for a kiss, smiling against her lips. This was the Lisa I knew, the Lisa I had grown up with, the Lisa I loves with all my heart.
"I love you." I says. "I love you so much and I'm happy, like unbelievably happy."
"I love you too. I am so in love with you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you and the kids."
"Forever and ever?" I asks and she presses a kiss to my nose.
"Forever and ever, Love."
She peppers kisses over my face, smiling like a woman who just won the world when I heard the little giggles I let out.
"Oh my god."
Me ane Lisa both go still and look to the side. Lego was tanning by the door, his hand covering his eyes but he was clearing peeking between two fingers. Lego doesn't even try to leave, he just stands there.
"Um..."
"Yeah. I'm just going to go now." Lego says, walking backwards, his lips pulled at the side in a smirk. Once he's gone, Lisa looks down at me.
"Is it me or is Lego getting weirder by the day?"
"He's not weird. He's...eccentric."
Lisa laughs and gets off me. She falls back onto the bed and pull me in. I chuckles as I rearranged myself and settles between Lisa's legs, my back pressed against her chest.
"Thank you."
"For what?" She asks as she wraps her arms around my waist, pressing her nose to the side of my face.
"For your words earlier. For not giving up on us. For fighting and still fighting for us."
"I will continue to do so. I want you and the kids to know how much you all mean to me. I love you all." She says. "I know how life is without you and I know where I went wrong. I will work hard and come to you no matter what, no matter how little."
"I will also come to you too. No matter how small the matter is. I will also fight for us, for the kids."
"Have I told you how much I love you today?"
I hums and pursed my lips. "I don't recall. Maybe you should refresh my memory."
"Well, I love you. I love your eyes, your smile, your laugh, how you take care of the kids, how gentle you are, how to use big words when you go deep into a rant, the little sounds you make when I have you underneath me. I love you and everything about you."
"I love you too, Lisa. I love your blue blue eyes and how gorgeous your blonde hair is, how tall you are, how you take care of the kids, how you hold me, how you know what to say, how you are always there, how you take care of me."
"You were right. They're being mushy again." Lilys voice calls out. Me and Lisa both look at the door.
"How do we keep forgetting the door isn't locked?" I asks, my voice low.
"I don't know." She replies.
When Lego had left, he didn't close the door all the way, so Lily was peeping in. She walks into the door, pushing the door even wider, her siblings walking in behind her.
"Don't tell me you have all finished packing?" I says, trailing his gaze over all my kids.
"Nah. We decided to come and cuddle." Then we haven't done that in a while, is not said out loud but it was there and we all heard it.
This, it became a puppy pile. I moves to the side and Luca settles between his dada's. Lily cuddles up to Lisa's side and Lego settles close to me while Kuma rests his head on Lisa's lap.
We talk and laugh. Lily tells us about her week at school, Lego talks about his Halloween plans to dress up as Valak From The Nun, complete with a small speaker sewn into the black gown so that it plays that creepy sound.
"You're going to scare the crap out of people." Kuma cackles.
"Language." Lisa and me chorus. But we do believe Lego was going to scare the crap out of people. He was going to go around dressed as a demon nun, at night.
"I want to be a potato." Luca adds. "Or maybe a ghost."
"I can get a sheet and drape it over you." I says. "We'll cut holes in it for your eyes."
"I'm going as Patrick Star from spongebob." Lily says and I doesn't even. What my little princess wants, she gets.
We all look at Kuma who sighs. "Nicole and I are going as...'
"Oh please don't say harlequin and joker."
"Nope."
"Morticia And Gomez from Addams family?" Lego asks and Kuma says no. We all wait for Kuma to say it and when it does, everyone whoops.
"Victor and Emily from corpse bride."
Luca also cheers. I couldn't help it, I wants to pinch Kuma's cheek and coo. My little boy all grown up and doing couple costumes with her girlfriend. We stay that way and talk, laughing here and there and it's perfect.
It's everything Me and Lisa have ever wanted and more.
It's perfect.
It's home.
