The Galaxy King flew into the Adventure Universe, heading for the Town of Tales.
"Let me get this straight." Weisz recapped. "The next criminal you're looking for, Reality Check, is just hanging out casually in an Adventurers Guild?"
"It does seem odd when you think about it." Rebecca said.
"Yeah…I mean, you'd think she'd wait at an inn or some sort of other local." Jexi said.
"Given she's a criminal, maybe she's afraid of being identified." Tanjiro said.
"Not possible. She's worn a mask and no wanted posters were ever released for the crooks to avoid panicking others." Lan said.
"You know with a name like Reality Check, what if she's somehow able to alter reality?" Ace asked.
"That's probably why Nancy said she was dangerous, and we had to avoid all contact with her?" Catra reminded.
Ace rolled his eyes.
"What I don't get is why she's interested in the Lost Thieves." Lan said. "We've stolen and killed from a lot of people. Not necessarily a very popular group."
"Maybe we'll find out once we confront her." Shantae said.
"Which is coming up fast, we're right over the Town of Tales." Scarlet said. "Edens Zero crew, welcome to the Adventure Universe."
"Incredible." Homura said.
They landed next to the guild hall as they entered through the front.
"Luz. You…" Sunset said.
"Shh." Luz said as she pointed to nearby where a girl with pink hair was drinking. "That's her right there."
"Hmm…she definitely matches the description." Lan said.
"Alright, we need to be careful, any sudden moves or threatening gestures could set her off." Pearl said. "I suggest we observe her from a distance and-"
"Hello, Reality Check!" Ed called out from across the room.
"Ed!" Mark and the other Eds hissed at him.
"Ah…looks like Team Chronicle has appeared." Reality Check said as she drank. "Looks like things are almost in place."
"Oh, I don't like the sound of that…" Hyde said.
"Next, Fatebreakers and Mythos Hearts members enter with a chest." she said.
"What is she-?" Izuku said as the doors opened.
"Hey guys. Check out what we found." Theo said as he and Ethox held a large black chest.
"Whoa…how did she know that was gonna happen?!" Shiki said.
"Is she…narrating? If so, she's good. It's almost scary…" David said.
"What if she's changing reality when she narrates?" Stoj asked.
"It doesn't take long before the windows of the guildhall are broken in." Reality Check said.
"What? No way that's…" Luz said before a window broke open.
"Ah…why did I think that would be badass?" Flux groaned sitting on the ground.
"Okay, I am officially freaked out." Al said.
The other windows were broken in as several members of the Lost Thieves broke in.
"You really need to work on your timing." Arthur said.
"Yeah, yeah." Flux said.
"Uh…why are you here?" Jexi asked.
"Oh right." Flux said, taking out a gun. "I'll be taking that chest."
"Wait, why?" Ethox asked. "Do you know what's in it? Because we don't."
"Ethox, is this really the time to be asking questions?" Rista asked, a crowd having gathered around the situation.
"What's inside is none of your business. All you need to know is that it's mine!" Flux said.
"Wait, hold up!" Mark called out. "Now, as much as I'm sure we'd all like to get into a massive brawl that will be fondly remembered for years to come, would any of you Lost Thieves happen to know that girl?" he asked, pointing to Reality Check.
"Wait, she's not with you guys?" Flux asked.
"Uh oh… everyone, brace yourselves!" David said.
"Okay…looks like everything is set." Reality Check said as she got up and went right out the door.
"Huh…that was anticlimactic." Theo said.
"Uh…guys. She's standing outside…doing something." Amity said as some sort of rift formed before the pink haired girl as it moved towards the ship and Guild Hall.
"What's she doing?!" Michiru said.
"I dunno, but it's coming right at us!" Bow said.
"Brace yourselves!" CP called out, Team Go-Go holding onto each other.
They all shut their eyes as the rift passed through and over them before opening them.
"Huh…weird. I don't feel any different. You guys?" Jexi asked.
"Only thing different is that…it doesn't look like the Lost Thieves are here anymore." Lan said seeing said thieves were no longer in the Guild Hall.
"Come on guys, a person doesn't create a huge portal just to get one group." RD-2 said. "Something must've happened."
"Uh…when did we move to sea?" Subaru asked, looking out the window.
"Wait, where's Aelita and the others?" 9S asked.
"I was afraid of this…" David said.
They looked out the window and saw they were near the harbor with the Galaxy King bobbing on the waves in ship mode.
"Okay, Galaxy King is intact. That's a good sign." David said.
"What about the Edens Zero?" Happy-2 asked.
"Eh, it might just be in the hangar, I wouldn't worry." ZS said. "What we should be wondering is where the heck are we?"
"In order, Edens Zero was already in the hangar before we got here. Secondly…from our surroundings…we're likely somewhere in France. Possibly…near a factory and a boarding school called Kadic." Titanica said.
"There again?" Sachiko asked.
"Hey, we did it four times…seven if you count re-dos." Dan said.
"Okay, what's going on exactly?" Goddess Aqua asked. "I'm so confused right now!"
"Reality Check. Once she thought all the pieces were in place, she warped the Guild Hall and the ship to a different timeline…a redux one." Lan said.
"And the Lost Thieves…" Theo said.
"If she did take them, she likely placed them somewhere else in this area." Lan said.
"But at what point is this redux taking place?" Simon asked.
"Well, we've already been through the first three trips to Kadic. I think this is the last one." Kokoro said.
"No question. This has to be the last trip we took to the past." Jexi said.
"So this is when William was under XANA's control?" Roy asked.
"Yep." Leonora said. "When we finished up the third act, William was possessed by XANA."
"XANA?" Michiru asked in curiosity.
"A super-powerful computer AI who wanted to take over the world." Tails explained.
"And in order to stop it, Aelita and the others from her world enter the digital world of Lyoko to foil whatever plan XANA has for world domination." Eddy said. "Well, Aelita was already in Lyoko when the others met her… it's a long story, and some of us weren't there for most of it."
"Right now, they're in the process of reconstructing Lyoko. This act is when the final battles against XANA began." Erza said.
"But why would Reality Check send us here?" Noel asked.
"Doesn't look like she's outside. Either she's elsewhere or she's still back in town." Theo said.
"The way she narrated…you think she wanted to set this up?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"Most likely. But for what, we don't know. But this is the last act, and if I know anything about production, this is usually the point where people go big." David said.
"So she may not be finished sending things here." Hera said.
"Since we have no clue what she's planning…no choice. We're gonna have to do the same old, same old." Kazuichi said.
"Yep. And this is the grand finale. So let's take it all in while we can." David said.
"Since a lot of you are new to this, we'll explain the rules. First off, this world has no idea other worlds exist. So no using powers in public." Jexi said.
"Second, some of you will have to blend in here as to not cause panic." Ace said.
"He's right. Either as students at Kadic, faculty there, or maybe working in the forest like Chopper does." Jexi said.
"Did you really have to tell them that I have to live in the woods?" Chopper asked.
"Relax. It's not that big of a deal." Teba said. "What say you, Master Revali? I can use some company in the treetops."
"And then there's Pit here. Uh… Pit?" David asked before a figure of Pit fell to the floor. "Ugh… A cardboard cut-out? Seriously?!"
"You can't make me do that!" Pit called out outside.
"You're going to do it whether you like it or not!" Saki said, chasing after him with tape in hand.
"Haven't you guys ever tried finding an alternative to taping his wings down?" Ethox asked.
"Hope wanted to do a hologram but…it did not work out. Besides, this way is fun." Ranma said.
"Get back here!" Saki yelled.
"Last time, Pit, you're near the finish line!" SE called out.
"Hahahaha!" Pit laughed as he climbed up a light post. "What you gonna do now? You can't climb!"
Saki looked up before jumping high into the air right in front of him before grasping his neck and dragging him back.
"Wait…Saki. We can talk. You're the reasonable one." Pit said.
"Since when?" she asked him.
"She's got a point there." Kabuki said.
"Pit, just do it already. This is the last one. I promise you. We get through this, you won't have to worry about getting your wings taped again." David said.
"That's what they said last time. Not falling for…ah!" Pit said as he was already taped.
"There. Done." Saki said.
"It won't be that extreme for the rest of us, will it?" Michiru asked.
"No, as long as you can cover your animal features, you'll be fine." Kokoro said.
"If anyone asks about your discolors, just say you've got an abnormal skin condition. It worked for Vector." Glimmer said.
"Or DNA experimentation. Worked for the rest of us." Ross said.
"...I think I'll go with a skin condition." Michiru said.
"Well, they both work to certain degrees, so… You can pick either one for this case." Petra said.
"Hmm…anything else we're forgetting?" Jexi asked.
"Oh yeah! Almost forgot." Sachiko said. "Normally, if we wanted to reach Lyoko, we'd have to run all the way to the factory to go into the scanners."
"Why did she say normally?" Shun'ei asked.
"The Galaxy King came back with us. So did the Digimon Storage." Franky said.
"That's right. And since the Digimon Storage has a feature to take people to virtual worlds, even those of us staying at the Galaxy King can go to Lyoko without having to make a trip to the factory." Alphamon said.
"And there's the Dive Room on the Edens Zero too." Rebecca said.
"Not sure if it's compatible with this Lyoko though." Hermit said.
"Just to be safe, you should probably stick to the Digimon Storage." Leopardmon said.
"Good idea." Weisz said.
"Well…looks like we have everything out of the way. Tails?" Jexi asked.
"Yeah. I can still hack into Kadic's school files." Tails said.
"Then it's back to school for one last ride." Hope said.
"Yeah! Let's finish this!" ZS cheered.
In another part of the woods…
"Damn it…can't believe I'm back here again." Flux said as he saw the Lost Thieves and an old ship. "Least a past version of my ship is here. And everyone is accounted for."
"That girl…her power was…." Arthur said.
"Yeah. Now we gotta play villain once more." Flux said. "I need to get that chest back before they realize how to open it."
"I don't understand, boss. Why do you want that chest? What is inside?" Ian asked.
"Not important. Fact is, what is in there is something I don't want others using against me." Flux said.
"Still, sir… It really feels good to see our old friend XANA again, doesn't it?" Ian asked.
"YEah… It sure does. If…we were actually friends." Flux said sheepishly. "Still, if this is going to be XANA's last outing…may as well take advantage of it and try to get in his good graces."
"Then take him out and claim your throne." Arthur said. "Seems like something you'd do, brother."
"Yep. Exactly what I'm gonna do. Then when we return…I'll capture that girl and harness her powers for our own purposes." Flux said.
Back in the Town of Tales, Reality Check looked at an orb as she saw both sides before looking to the screen. "Stage is set. So…stay tuned."
