"Urgh… Come on, Odd! Open this door right now!" Ulrich said as he was banging on the door.
"Stern, what do you think you're doing running around half-naked?" Shuichi asked in a tone that imitates Jim.
"Ha ha, very funny." Ulrich said. "I've been stuck out here for 15 minutes because Odd refuses to open up."
"Hey, Odd. If you don't open this door you can forget about the extra meatballs." Simon said.
"Nice try, but that's not gonna work." Ulrich said.
It wasn't long before they heard a click of the door lock.
"You were saying?" Simon asked.
"Never fails." Jeremie said as they made their way inside to see Odd sulking.
"What's wrong Odd? Is this all because of your movie?" Megumin asked.
"Yes… well, no. It isn't the first time a film of mine will be screened for ignoramuses." ODD said.
"Then what is it?" Glimmer asked.
"My parents are in town and… they're coming to see my film." Odd reluctantly answered.
"You're worried they'll embarrass you." Simon said.
"I actually wish they would." Odd said. "Teenagers are always having conflicts with their parents. A generation gap, except for me. My mother and father are always cool, supportive and understanding. In fact, they're just perfect."
"Odd, I don't think that's something to complain about." Petra said.
"Yeah, from the way you said it, you have a better home life than most of us here." Francisca said.
"I knew you guys wouldn't understand." Odd said. "I just want to feel like a normal adolescent, with just one thing my parents and I can fight over."
"It's more like you don't really seem to understand how lucky you are, Odd." Hope said. "You have a loving family who respects everything about you. If anything, you should want the opposite and not have anything to fight over."
"Yeah, cheer up." Ulrich said. "With any luck, they'll hate your film."
"Yeah, that would be too good to be true." Odd replied sarcastically.
When Odd's parents arrived, everyone was instantly attracted to how nice they were. Odd wasn't really too much of a fan of it. They were called to see Delmas, possibly for a conference about Odd's behavior. But they were more interested in complementing their son rather than hearing Delmas speak about Odd's behavior in school, which made the principal a bit overwhelmed.
Eventually the time came for Odd's film screening. But, Odd was a no show.
"Where is he? Don't tell me he's not coming out because he's stressed out by his own family." Glimmer said.
"I don't get it. What does he have to complain about?" G. Aqua asked. "Most teenagers would kill for parents like Odd's, and he just shrugs it all off and wants to have something to fight over? Seriously!"
"That's the thing, his family is perfect and well maybe he just feels annoyed by their support." Shantae said.
"And that's considered a bad thing, how?" Shun'ei asked.
"It's Odd. He probably feels too coddled." Kazuma said. "Doesn't change the fact he's being an idiot though."
"You're one to talk." Simon said. "Hold on, I'll go get him." he said, leaving the auditorium as he saw Odd on the stairs biting his nails. "Someone is certainly stressed."
"You're telling me." Odd said. "I'm already stressed enough as it is."
"Well biting your nails certainly isn't helping." Simon said. "Look I get your parents can be supportive alot, but you're lucky to have parents like yours, the least you can do is appreciate their support and them coming all this way to see your film. Now come on." he said, grabbing his arm and dragging him into the auditorium.
Reluctantly, Odd obliged and prepared to present his film, nervous as he was. But while he was doing that, XANA made his move.
"Hmm?" Ash said before looking at his phone as he managed to catch a glimpse of XANA's symbol. Odd's dad didn't seem to notice as he was excused to answer. When he came back, he looked incredibly aggravated.
"Don't answer your phones." Ash said to the others as he showed the eye of XANA on his phone.
"XANA, of course." Glimmer said as everyone's phones started ringing. Upon answering them, they entered the same aggressive state as Odd's father.
"He's hijacking everyone's cell phones?" Kazuma asked.
"Looks like it, and they're coming away angry." Glimmer said. "Let's go take care of this."
Everyone excited the auditorium, Odd going out last after Ulrich signaled him. But when Odd tried to leave, everyone took notice.
"Look at that coward, slinking away like that!" Odd's father said.
"Are we gonna let that ungrateful snot nose brat get away with this?" Odd's mother asked as the rest of the audience soon joined in on a massive manhunt for Odd.
"Geez, I always thought there would be a manhunt for Odd, but I thought it would be by his former girlfriends." Pit said.
"Too many to count there." David said. "We gotta get to the factory, but if XANA hijacked the phones, we can't get word to the Galaxy King."
"I'm sure they have probably picked up on this too." Sachiko said.
"I'll teleport back there just in case." Glimmer said. "You guys go ahead and get to the tower."
With that, Glimmer warped back to the Galaxy King while the others headed to the factory to go to Lyoko.
In the Mountain Sector, Ulrich, Yumi, Aelita and the others started making their way to the tower. They found it was at the top of a massive spire.
"Any ideas on how we're gonna scale this thing?" Kazuma asked.
"I dunno. Hey einstein, why didn't you virtualize us near the summit?" Ulrich asked.
"There's a bug. Well, some of you can fly so it's not a problem." Jeremie said as he kept getting denied when he hits keys. "But for those that can't, I can call up the vehicles. Just the Overwing."
"Send it anyway, it'll have to do." Shun'ei said. "The rest of us can go mountain climbing."
"Got it." Jeremie said summoning the Overwing for Yumi and Ulrich to ride on as the flyers headed up with them as the rest attempted to climb the monolith. The skies were soon cut off by a Duo of Mantas.
"Looks like XANA's sent his own air force." Pit said as he fired some arrows at the incoming mantas.
Colette responds by throwing her chakrams at the Mantas.
"Pod!" 2B said as 042 fired a laser in unison.
Both mantas evaded, firing thier lasers back at the flyers to try and get them to crash, successfully blasting Yumi and Ulrich out of the sky. Luckily Aelita used her Creativity to create a landmass for them to land safely on.
"Hang tight, I'll send the Overboard, but it'll take a bit to get past XANAs bug." Jeremie said.
"Well, I hope it gets here quick." Ulrich said.
A Krab appeared above and took up a sniping position to try and take out the three Lyoko warriors from high above.
"Looks like shellfish are back in season." Jesmon said.
"I'm on it." Aelita said flying up to distract the Krab and its partner. She did so for a moment with an energy field, Yumi was able to force it off the ledge with a fan to the leg, making it fall into the digital sea, but not before it hit her back with a well placed shot as it was falling.
"Yumi, you just lost 40 life points." Jeremie warned.
"Yeah, and I can feel it too. I'll try my best not to take another hit-" just as Yumi said that, a Kankrelat came from behind and devirtualized her with a sneak attack. "Urgh, what an idiot I am!"
"Is it me, or are XANAs monsters more organized today?" Kazuma asked.
"Kazuma, do we have to say it again?" David asked.
"No, you don't need to tell me, XANA's stepped up his game." Kazuma said.
"Yeah. He's clearly not leaving things to chance anymore." Mayumi said as she sniped some more monsters.
"Ulrich, overboard in 2 seconds." Jeremie said as the overboard spawned near Ulrich.
"Well, here goes." Ulrich said as he leaped on and ascended, struggling to keep his balance and not succumb to his fear of heights. "How does Odd manage to pilot this thing?"
"He's not afraid of falling." Colette said.
"Uh…you guys may wanna put a rush on this cause Odd is trapped on the roof by the mob." Glimmer said on the comm.
"Spoke too soon, Colette." Mayumi said as she fired a rocket at the last Krab, whom fired at it, the explosion devirtualizing them both.
With the way clear, Aelita made her way to the tower and quickly deactivated it, curing Odd's parents and everyone else afflicted with aggression. The RTTP was soon launched as they returned to the sight of Odd's film premiere.
"Odd seems to be much more confident in presenting his film now than he was before." Hope said as Odd showed funny clips of everyone in the school.
"It's because he was chased around by his parents when XANA infected them. He had a little fun with his mom after they were cured." Megumin said.
"Well, I guess we can't do anything to change Odd's outlook. Family relationships are always different. If Odd doesn't like having perfect parents, we should respect that." Glimmer said.
"Yeah, guess that's how it'll stay." Shantae said.
"Odd will always be Odd then." Hope said as he was presenting Sissi, surprisingly, in a positive light. "And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way."
