After a minute of staring at each other, it was the boy who finally spoke up.

"Sorry if we scared you all," he said as he gave the survivors a friendly smile.

The girl, who was standing next to the boy, spoke next after giving the survivors a once over.

"Are you new around here?" Asked the girl.

Fieval was the first to answer the girl's question.

"Um...yes, we just arrived here on this beach."

Tanya spoke next as she gazed at the two dinosaurs that were standing beside the boy and girl.

"Are those real dinosaurs?!" asked Tanya.

The boy smiled before replying to Tanya's question.

"Yes, these two are real dinosaurs."

All of the survivors from the shipwreck stared at the boy in surprise before one of them spoke.

"That's impossible. Dinosaurs have been extinct for a million years."

"Not on this island," replied the girl as she patted the green Chasmosaurus on the cheek. "Here on Dinotopia, it's a place where all Dinosaurs thrive and live alongside us."

"Us?" echoed Fievel as he stared at the girl in bewilderment. "You mean there are more people here on this island."

"Yep," replied the boy with a nod. "If you want, we can take you all back to our family's farm, and you can stay there for the night."

The survivors hesitated at the boy's offer and looked amongst each other uneasily. They were unsure of whether they should follow some random boy and girl through the jungle with giant creatures, that could easily crush them without a second thought. Yet the thought of having someplace to stay for the night was tempting. The boy and girl seemed to notice their hesitation before the girl spoke up again.

"We promise that all of you will be safe, and you'll be given food and warm beds to sleep in at our farm."

The girl's offer of food and warm beds finally won the survivors over before one of them spoke.

"Okay, we'll go with you."

"Good," said the boy with a smile. "Oh, but before we do, allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Keith,"-he then gestured to the girl beside him-"And this is my sister, Lilly."

"It's nice to meet you," spoke Lilly with a smile.

Just then, the brown Chasmosaurus let out a grunt as it gently nudged the Keith with its nose.

"Don't worry, I didn't forget about you guys," reassured Keith before he spoke to the survivors again. "And these two are our family members. The brown Chasmosaurus is Backstop, while the green one is Terrence."

The two dinosaurs let out friendly grunts of greeting towards the survivors. The people stared at the dinosaurs in befuddlement before Keith spoke again.

"We should get going. The farm is not far from here, just make sure that you all stay close. It's pretty easy to get lost within the jungle at night."

The survivors all glanced at each other uneasily at the mention of getting lost within the unknown jungle, before they began to follow Keith, his sister and the two dinosaurs into the jungle. All the while, making sure that everyone stuck close together and did not wander off. It was an hour later that the two siblings, dinosaurs and the shipwrecked survivors arrived at the farm. And what the survivors saw had all of them staring in awe and wonder. The first thing the survivors noticed was how large the farm was. It had fields filled with wheat that seemed to stretch out as far as the eye can see. The second thing that they all noticed were the dinosaurs and people who worked together within the the fields. Fievel's mouth hung wide open as he stared at the sight before him. Then after a minute, he finally spoke up with excitement filling his voice.

"Wow...this is really your home?"

"Yep," replied Keith with a chuckled as he turned to look at Fievel with a smile. "This is our family's farm. We pretty much supply almost half the food here on Dinotopia."

"It's so big," voiced Tanya.

Lilly chuckled before she, Keith and their Chasmosaurus companions began to lead the survivors towards the farm's main building. As they approached the main building, they noticed a man coming out.

The man looked to be in his mid thirties with fair skin, short brown hair, and green eyes. He wore a brown vest over top a dark green short sleeved shirt, dark brown pants and flat heel brown boots. He was quiet muscular with broad shoulders, and he looked to be quite fit for his age. The man carried a bale of hay on his right shoulder before placing it down on the ground. The man wiped the sweat off from his forehead before turning to see Keith, Lilly, the two dinosaurs and the survivors coming towards him. Lilly let out a excited giggle and ran towards the man with a large smile on her face.

"Papa!" shouted Lilly excitedly.

The man let out a booming laugh and picked Lilly up off the ground after she came within reach of him. The man lifted Lilly up over his head for a moment before lowering her where he now held her in his arms. He then turned his attention back onto Keith and the survivors again.

"We're back dad," said Keith with a smile.

"Welcome home," greeted the man as he smiled back at Keith.

The man then turned his attention towards the group of survivors. "I see you brought some company with you."

"They're survivors dad," explained Keith as his smile faded to a light frown. "We found them on the beach when me and Lilly took Backstop and Terrence with us to explore the jungle."

"I see," said the man as he set Lilly down on the ground.

He then walked up to the survivors before coming to stand in front of them.

"My name is Justin," spoke the man as he introduced himself to the survivors. "I'm the patriarch of the farm, and I welcome you to my home. I can tell that all of you are tired and in need of a place to stay for the night. So please, make yourselves at home here, and in return my family and I will explain everything to you over dinner."

"Thank you sir," spoke Bernard in gratitude.

Justin smiled at Bernard before he turned to Keith and Lilly. "Keith, you and Lilly go inside, and tell your mother that we'll be having company for tonight. I'll take these people to sleeping quarters."

"Okay Papa!" exclaimed Lilly excitedly.

She and Keith then turned, and quickly ran into the building. Justin then turned to look at the two Chasmosaurus.

"Terrence, you and Backstop head back to the barn. I'll handle the rest from here."

Terrence and Backstop let out a couple of grunts before doing what Justin had told them. Once they had left, Justin turned back to look at the survivors.

"Now, let's get you folks settled in," he said in a gentle voice.

With that, Justin began to lead the survivors towards the sleeping quarters. As Fievel's family and the other survivors were led to their sleeping quarters, they found the beds were in a strange formation. The beds were all set up in the shape of a large circle, almost like a nest with hay piled up inside of it. There were also a few pillows and blankets within the beds as well. They were separated about two feet apart from each other. The survivors found it odd at first until Justin started to speak to them.

"I know that these beds might be not what you're all used to, but I can guarantee that they're just as soft and comfortable as any regular bed."

Some of the adults were a bit dubious about Justin's words, but the children decided to check out the beds. Fievel and Tanya headed towards one of the beds, and found that it was large enough to hold the two of them. Fievel tried to climbed into the bed, but was unable to lift himself up over the bed's edge. Tanya gave him a helping hand by placing her hands underneath one of his feet and boosted him up. Once he was over the edge of the bed, Tanya joined him and the two siblings found that the bed was indeed quite comfortable. It wasn't long before the other survivors made their way towards the beds, and began to choose which one they wanted to sleep in. Bernard and Alla chose a bed that stood next to the one that Fievel and Tanya had chosen to sleep on. Alla gently placed Yasha on the bed, and smiled as the little baby let out a small yawn. Justin smiled as he stood within the doorway before he spoke to the survivors.

"Make yourselves comfortable. I'll come back to inform you when dinner is ready."

The survivors all chorused a 'thank you' before Justin turned, and walked out of the bed chamber. With that, everyone began to go about doing their own thing. Some of the survivors, who had been exhausted after their swim through the ocean, collapsed onto their chosen nest bed and instantly fell asleep afterwards. Others were in small groups as they quietly talked amongst each other about the day's events. Tanya and Fievel were one of the few who had fallen asleep after they had laid themselves down upon the bed. Bernard and Alla gazed at their two children for a moment before they began to speak quietly between each other.

"It seems the day's events have tired them out," voiced Bernard.

"I don't blame them," whispered Alla with a shake of her head. "We've nearly drowned after the ship we were on burst into flames. Then we washed up on this island, and we find not only people living here, but dinosaurs as well."

"Yes...that is something of a surprised to me too," said Bernard with a light frown upon his face. "From what I remember, dinosaurs were supposed to be extinct."

"Yet we saw them with our own eyes," voiced Alla as she turned to look at her husband. "Real, breathing dinosaurs."

"I know, I know," said Bernard as he scratched the back of his head. "Which begs the question on how these dinosaurs are still alive. Not to mention why there are people living with them on this island as well."

Alla could only give her husband a small shrug before looking down at Yasha, who was now asleep upon the soft bed of hay. She gently tightened the blanket around the baby, then let out a quiet sigh before speaking again.

"Who would have thought that journeying to America would have us wind up in a unknown place."

Bernard looked at his wife for a moment before placing his right hand over her own. Alla looked up at her husband again and saw Bernard giving her a reassuring smile before he spoke.

"We'll get through this. As long as we all stick together."

She smiled back as she gently grasped Bernard's hand. Outside; the sun slowly began to set, and it was time for the newcomers and farm workers to have dinner.
